Gambon 'camping it up'
"Well, he's been camping it up around the set like nobody's business. There was a scene when Michael had to come in and tell someone how much he loved knitting patterns. He just adored saying that."
However, please note that as the context of this quote is not given, we presume Gambon is merely "camping it up" off set and not actually on camera.

Hah, that's pretty awesome, actually. I would love if he actually said that! It's the real Dumbledore from the books. And to all the people asking what "camping it up" means, just go to dictionary.com. I beg you. You're a resourceful, young Harry Potter fan. You can do it. I believe in you.
Who played the first Dumbledore, by the way?
Hi professorlongbottom- Richard Harris played Dumbledore in the first 2 HP movies. By the way,the knitting line was already in the book.
After thinking about it, I've come to the conclusion that maybe it would be better if Gambon DID gay it up. He's been playing Dumbledore too strict. Dumbledore's supposed to be a little more flamboyant.
I agree poofer.
CAMPING IT UP: theatrical extravagant, effeminate, flamboyant mannerisms and affectations ... usually done deliberately and for comic effect (John Inman's "Mr. Humphries" in the BBC comedy "Are You Being Served" is an example of completely Camp Character ... in the US characters like Liberace and Richard Simmons come to mind -- tho' Liberace was just as camp offstage as he was in performance. Victor/Vi ctorial and Cage Aux Folles (The Bird Cage) use a lot of "Camp" IT'S ALSO A THING ACTORS DO IN REHEARSAL: for reasons that are difficult to explain, professional actors find Camp extremely funny ... and when tired, frustrated or bored in rehearsals, may start "Camping it Up" to clear their minds for more serious efforts. For what it's worth: Dumbledore may have 'had a thing' either "for" or "with" Gindlewald ... but it's Elphias Doge who is STILL carrying a torch for Dumbledore -- and it's Slughorn who best fits 'the stereotype.'
HAHA HOW FUNNY I BET HE LOOKS REAL FUNNY DANCING AROUND AND DYING HIS BEARD PINK OM IMAGE IT LOL IT SOUNDS LIKE THE CREW HAVE LOADS OF FUN WISH I COULD BE ONE OF THEM !
