Accio 2008 registration now open You can now register for the Harry Potter conference, Accio 2008. The event will take place from July 25-27th in Magdalen College, Oxford, England.

According to its website, "Accio 2008 seeks to enhance the appreciation of J.K. Rowling’s novels as works of literature in her home country. Paper presentations, roundtables, moderated panels, debates and workshops will evoke a lively, interesting and thoughtful discussion on the changes the Harry Potter novels have already made to our world, and on the potential for the novels to have a lasting influence."

There's more then one a year. There IS one in Texas in summer 2008 (i'm pretty sure registration is already open) and in 2009 there's going to be one in San Jose (the same people as the Texas one). So yeah...

Posted by accio2008 Nov 5th 2007

Just to answer a couple of the questions that have been raised - delegates need to be 18 years of age or older at the time of the Accio 2008 conference to attend. There is a non-residential rate that enables delegates who do not need accommodation to attend the conference without needing to pay for a room. Phyllis Morris, Accio 2008 Co-Chair

Posted by Blooth Nov 5th 2007
