Saturday Night Live mocks recent Dumbledore revelation
Saturday Night Live mocks recent Dumbledore revelation On last night's episode of Saturday Night Live, there were two big mentions of Albus Dumbledore's recent sexuality revelation. The first came during the weekly bit called "Weekend Update." One anchor reported the revelation, followed by the punchline "Even worse, he now has Hog Warts."

The second came in a segment where JK Rowling is being interviewed about Dumbledore on CNN's Larry King Live. She tells Larry that several scenes were cut from the movie which gave away his sexuality. Each of the scenes were then played, focusing around Dumbledore telling McGonagall about his man love problems.

funny! top 5! YES!

Posted by MagdaleneRose Nov 4th 2007

those are horrible jokes on their parts. shame. 4

Posted by twignig Nov 4th 2007

No, it wasn't funny guys. Which is a shame since they're SNL. They could have done MUCH better. It was like they just threw it in there just to mention it, it was the lamest attempt to be funny. Ever.

Posted by KiKi29302 Nov 4th 2007

I think there funny I don't take them serouisly. I love harry potter but give them a brake tons of people say that sort of stuff everyday. Its just for entertainment and it shows how popular HP is because they could have been making fun of the goverment.

Posted by SriLankanSnape Nov 4th 2007

6th? Woo hoo I'm being dumb for once :)

Posted by Hermione_G_Weasley Nov 4th 2007

It wasn't funny, it wasn't something to joke about like that.

Posted by member_of_SPEW Nov 4th 2007

:-( This is one of the reasons JKR shouldn't have said.

Posted by 13hplover13 Nov 4th 2007

well it doesnt really matter as Dumbledore is still Dumbledore no matter what his sexuality

Posted by member_of_SPEW Nov 4th 2007

13hplover13: I totally agree that it doesn't change how I think of Dumbledore. But most of the comments I've heard about it, in the media and at school, have been terrible jokes like this sounds like.

Posted by Grnd3lW4Ld Nov 4th 2007

If jo wasnt expecting this shes an idiot. Ill check it out but generally, for like the past 5 years anyway, SNL hasn't been funny

Posted by lilpotterfan Nov 4th 2007

i feel so bad for jkr. why do people have to make a big deal out of it.....

Posted by Hermione_G_Weasley Nov 4th 2007

Blah. I've seen so much like this, it's getting old. The media won't be quiet about it, will they? It's like they just threw that in, as a way of making sure EVERYBODY knew about it.

Posted by MissMalfoy Nov 4th 2007

Ohhh okay.....well........i just do. I mean, you know when you just hate someone? Like how people hate Voldy? yeah well thats it. There i explained, now its your turn =D

touche

Posted by ver Nov 4th 2007

I actually thought the idea of Dumbledore at a gay bar was really, really funny. But the "Hog Warts" joke was stupid and I think they could've done much better than that. I don't understand why some people are so offended by the fact that they were making fun of it at all. I mean, it's SNL...they make fun of recent news stories, and Jo outing Dumbledore is a recent news story. At least they weren't sending out the message that being gay is BAD, just poking fun at the idea that a very respectable, brilliant, old wizard might have once gone to a gay bar. XD

Norse? wtf?? siriusly grinds, speak english please. FOOL!

Posted by restyourbonesx Nov 4th 2007

The clip DOES work. Go to: http://www.nbc.com/Saturd ay_Night_Live/Then click 'Dumbledore' and let it load. Go to the 'Select Episode' at the bottom of the page & click on the Brian Williams picture. Click on one of the new pictures that have come up. (It doesn't matter which one because they all make it start at the beginning.) Now, look at the little timer bar thing (you know the shaded bar right next to the time. It's the red thing on youtube..) See all the gray markers in the bar? Click on the space RIGHT AFTER the 2nd one & there's Dumbledore!!I thought SNL was great & for anyone who says it was inappropriate, you're stuck up. Honestly, it's just a little fun. They do gay skits all the time & there was nothing distasteful about the Dumbledore one at all.

Posted by Grnd3lW4Ld Nov 4th 2007

YOU ASKED IF TOUCHE WAS FRENCH AND I SAID IT WAS NORSE! MAYBE IF YOU UNDERSTOOD ENGLISH, FOOL! yeah ari its working now hooray.

Posted by member_of_SPEW Nov 4th 2007

Hi Mrsroonil_wazlib! and everybody! Touche = French; in fencing, it's when someone's foil touches you; so in conversation it's when someone makes a point or pokes a hole in an argument or something like that.

Posted by Mrsroonil_wazlib Nov 4th 2007

estamos hablando del skit y del pozo de SNL que no sé qué más realmente no he estado pagando a atención

Posted by tiassa Nov 4th 2007

Posted by nugglemutter Nov 4th 2007

The clip of the larry king sketch does work, but YOU NEED TO USE INTERNET EXPLORER and watch ads before it shows up. I would put it on youtube, but they get taken down pretty quickly.

Posted by Grnd3lW4Ld Nov 4th 2007

Posted by Mrsroonil_wazlib Nov 4th 2007
