OOTP DVD Updates: WalMart Special, HD DVD First, Review
There are several new updates tonight relating to the Order of the Phoenix DVD, sent in by a few visitors.First up, WalMart is selling an exclusive DVD set (seen left) which includes the film disc and three toys: a snitch, broom, and globe. It is priced at $19.96
Next, in an HD DVD first, the HD version of Order of the Phoenix will include a feature called Live Community Screening. With an internet connection, you will be able to "Invite other owners of the HD DVD to simultaneously watch from their own internet-accessed players and text with your remote, PC or cell phone."
And lastly, a very detailed movie and special feature review comes from WF DVD Report. They give the two-disc edition a "Recommended" rating, calling it a "a solid two-disc release for an enjoyable film."
All versions of the DVD will go on sale December 11th in the United States. Thanks to Caitlin, Mark, and Tarpals for the links!

With all this news about the ootp dvds I just wish they would put more info out about the giftset that's coming out at the same time. Instead of just a picture on amazon. If anyone has the gift set please tell me how it is.
It' not a globe that comes with it. It's the Prophecy, a shield, and broom.

im sure i speak for most Harry Potter lovers when i say, movie 5 was a great letdown. It veered away from the original story a little to much and Ron and Hermione were rarely seen or herd from. But of course i must buy this to complete my harry potter collection. But i just wanted to see if anyone else was as disappointed as i was with the mediocre display of The Order of the Pheonix. It deserved a much better tessalation into film.
That's a good price that Walmart is selling that set for.
Let's hope someone changes the home page since it's a little embarrasing for HP fansite to be calling a shield a snitch and the prophecy a globe. ;)

Is the wal-mart set 1 or 2 disks? And is it available in Canada? It should be because we have LOADS of Wal-Marts here. But sometimes things are only available in US Wal-Marts. Does anyone know?

just read the review.....did i miss something? No Game to play????? Still...can't wait for Dec 11th. Now less than 2 weeks away. And I won't be going to wal-mart. I received a Borders gift card recently, so I'll be getting the movie there....along with a few other recent releases(Shrek and Bourne ULtimatum) Merry Xmas to me!!!!!!!! :-D
I agree with the many muggles who will not be buying the set at Walmart. They exploit workers, they've locked in workers at night despite the fire emergency hazard, they fire workers whom they suspect of unionizing to receive better benefits, they discriminate against older and handicapped workers, and they like to advertise with American flags though I suspect they don't sell ANYthing made in America or Europe. So, how do they get these exclusive contracts? First they get Don Henley to sell out, and now Harry Potter. Can I assume that this is engineered by Time Warner and not JKR, or am I to be disillusioned about that, too?
