wow... three years already... it seems like just yesterday I was dashing from my dance recital (crazy stage makeup still intact) to get to the nearest Barnes and Noble to get my copy of the book at midnight. *nostalgic sigh*

Posted by: - Posted on: 2006-06-21 01:25:23

Posted by: - Posted on: 2006-06-21 02:13:17

I just finishined re-reading book 5 today. Still hate reading about Sirius though. I never had a demented copy of book five, but when I first got book six, half the pages were cut down the center. Luckiliy I relaizedit before I left! I wonder how much longer to book 7!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2006-06-21 02:16:17

OMG! I remember this day! I was in year 5. I got home from school and Mum/ Dad had bought me OotP! I was so happy. I ran upstairs, sat on my bed and began to read, turning the pages ever so carefully. Then Mum started the vacuum... by sisters were yelling and running... I ended up screaming through my tears, even though being only 10 " I WAITED THREE YEARS FOR THIS BOOK SO JUST SHUUUUUT UUUP!!!". I got in so much trouble but it was so worth it!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2006-06-21 02:16:51

Wow, its original, I like it ;) Happy Birthday, "Order of the Phoenix"! In about a month theres going to be a year anniversary of a certain book ;) Oh, how much I wish it were the birthday of the 7th book...

Posted by: - Posted on: 2006-06-21 02:22:36

I know its great to remember this birthday but are other people, besides me, getting a bit worried over the lack of information about Book 7. I mean, in the year 2004 - the year before HBP came out - the door to J.K.Rowlings site opened three times, with the first time being somewhere in March or April. April 2006 has come and gone and all we had was the WOMBAT test which told us nothing of Book 7. Im thinking that maybe she wont get it ready until this year is past. Is anyone else thinking along the same lines or am I worrying too much?

Thats spam, funkydudetotorg. Anyway, I cant believe its 3 years since OOTP. It seems so distant... so far... yet so near. I can still remember I was at a camp on the release date and when I woke up in the morning, it was 7:01am exactly and I was thinking, "Oh I should be at the bookshop RIGHT NOW getting my book!" Haha. When I got back from camp the next day, my sister was still reading OOTP and she was near the end of the book... Finally when it was my turn to read it, she kept giving me spoilers! I was so annoyed but I dont really blame her... I guess she was quite excited (who wouldnt be?) and couldnt help herself. At least she didnt spoil the Death for me. That would have to be my friends fault... Ah well.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2006-06-21 06:11:39

aww! i remember tht day i persuaded my sister to buy me the book! oh what joy! hmm it was alalso the date where i realised i was obsessed with harry potter only one thing to say though: we miss you sirius! R.I.P.....*sobs hysterically* :D

Posted by: - Posted on: 2006-06-21 06:18:21

i dont understand the fuss, i no im gonna be controversial, but... i just dont get it. I know its a brilliant book n all, but surely y rnt se celebrating the GoF release date, the PoA CoS and PS as well. It just doesnt make sense

Posted by: - Posted on: 2006-06-21 06:39:20

awwww happy bday ootp!!! *rlf*

Posted by: - Posted on: 2006-06-21 06:46:06

I remember that day like it was yesterday I wasnt as obsessed as now but I still woke up right away in the morning to get the book then I read it in two days... nowadays I would have finished in by the end of the day but of corse I was on vacation during the release.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2006-06-21 06:54:30

Woot i am happy 3 years since ootp YEah without out that HBP wouldnt be here and the next HP book would not be any closer.so yup that is it from me

Posted by: - Posted on: 2006-06-21 07:23:58

wow, its hard to believe that it was 3 years ago that OOTP came out

Posted by: - Posted on: 2006-06-21 07:51:17

awww, I remember when book 5 came out. I kept thinking how great it was that we still had 3 books on the way. Now there is only one left and its so sad. Three years ago tomorrow I was sitting in my living room, bawling my eyes out because Sirius had just died. I honestly felt sick to my stomach for like two weeks after that. lol, not that Im crazy or anything ;) Good ol OOTP, my favorite

Posted by: - Posted on: 2006-06-21 08:05:56

and I three years ago today I turned thirteen!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2006-06-21 08:06:10

wow. I feel like its awesome that were almost at the end of the series and its terrible that were almost at the end of the series. I loved reading all the accounts of major HP parties the day after...

Posted by: - Posted on: 2006-06-21 08:39:25

lol i remember that one about someone delivering it a day early! idiot! ahhh three years ago, i had just finished my GCSEs and was waiting for my copy to arrive!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2006-06-21 08:53:45

Posted by: - Posted on: 2006-06-21 10:50:40

Posted by: - Posted on: 2006-06-21 11:00:11

wow i remeber OOTP it was the second greatest book to me next to GOF but it definately was a close race! i remember i was on vacation and i was going to save it for when i got home ...needless to say that did NOT happen haha

Posted by: - Posted on: 2006-06-21 11:09:24

wow! i remember that i went to my local Hp release party! the first one i ever went to! it was awsome! i bought the book like at 9am and then i went back to the place and all 300 copies were gone! lets hope now for 7/7/07!!!!!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2006-06-21 11:44:12

In response to ren_15... were probably celebrating OOTP and not the rest cos there was the longest (and by popular opinion, most memorable, I think) wait for the book. We had 3 years to wait for it... And all the speculation and theories went WILD.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2006-06-21 13:36:35

Wow...I still remember when I first opened to the first page of OoTP in the car and seeing the chapter picture of Harry in the bushes...like it was just yesterday.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2006-06-21 13:43:52

3 years ago i was 8 months pregnant and was on my way out the door to the midnight party when my friend stoped me by calling and telling me to sit down that i wasnt allowed to go. pissed off i sat there as she talked to me about crazy things untill i was to tired to go so i had to wait till the next day to get my book. grrrrr. i was so mad. but considering the fact that i got the book, read it, cried my eyes out as my man sirius died, finished it 15 hours after i got it. then went into lobor i guess it was good that i dint go. i could have gone into labor in front of all thoes kids and scared them more then lvs return...so i should have named my baby lily but didnt and ever now and then i kick my self because i didnt...

Posted by: - Posted on: 2006-06-21 14:06:53

i also wanted to asdd that after i finished gof i rushed out to get ootp and found out that it wasnt done and i had to wait almost 2 years freaken 2 years( that is a long time) for it. then all the fun things came out about what means what and what will happen. it was so fun.. now we are still doing it with hbp and the 7th book.. i love harry potter.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2006-06-21 14:10:48

Posted by: - Posted on: 2006-06-21 15:09:35

that is so AWESOME!!!! woot. i love OotP!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2006-06-21 17:36:07

in response to "Jk Rowling talks about book 5 death", I think that Jk Rowlings husband has a point. also, Sirius Black is definately my FAVORITE CHARACTER, so I really dont see why Rowling didnt just let him LIVE! =( she could have made everyone happy, but instead everyone was sad... thats what I dont understand about sad books. You want to be entertained, right? Not sad! Thats just what I think, though. I dont care if he had to die, I didnt WANT him to die, and noone else did, so I just think she should have let him live.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2006-06-21 17:50:05

And what a wonderful day it was! I remember it like it was yesterday...

Posted by: - Posted on: 2006-06-21 18:15:11

I dont feel like posting the whole comment that I posted on the-leaky-cauldron.org. :o) No one will be interested in it, anyway. But it talks about the celebration that my library threw; I didnt attend a midnight party. But I was actually interviewed on the news about HBP when I was at the midnight celebration . . .

Posted by: - Posted on: 2006-06-21 18:17:29

lol i remember fighting with my brother because i kept whining that "sirus black" was dead, and he kept saying no its Si-ree-us! and im like no its Syris! finally i gave up...wow its been 3 years already...wow....

Posted by: - Posted on: 2006-06-21 18:23:50

Ah the memories, which reminds me i need to get a new paperback edition of OOTP...that book has been through a lot! But what do u expect after reading it 7 times!? *gasp* there goes number 7 again!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2006-06-21 18:28:41

Ahhhh.... good times.. good times. It feels like it was just yesterday.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2006-06-21 18:42:23

I got OotP three years ago today, my birthday! that was an awesome birthday present!!! I so cant wait for book 7!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2006-06-22 18:34:18

Whoa its been THAT long already. Shew. I remember I got up uber early & drove like 45 minutes to one of the bigger towns in my area & we werent sure where the bookshop was so I was all "Mom were lost, Mom!" Lol & shes like "Calm down already!" & I literally ran across the street without caring & haha, I started reading it on the way home. I spent a day & a half reading it, sitting in the middle of my messy, clothed-covered floor on my bean bag chair reading it. I think I even skipped dinner once.. Idk. Awesome book- I cant wait fer book 7 !

Posted by: - Posted on: 2006-06-22 21:58:13

wow...i cant believe that its been three years since the BEST installment of the HP series (in my opinion) came out...it really doesnt seem like that long. wow...again. ;P
