I think the hairstyle change makes him look much older. He looks a little sickly -- strained, at least -- in the picture, which Harry should look like for the fifth and darkest movie. He's no longer a boy with pretty hair. He's got bigger problems. I may be reading too much into this, but I am now convinced that the movie will be really fantastic.

I remember this kind of reaction when the first promotional stills of GOF surfaced. And know what?..we all got used to Dan's long hair and better still, the audience loved it (it redirected the downward flow of the HP movies) and best of all, I do not see any dropping of Dan's fangirls because of the hair. I predict that the same thing will happen here too. We'll get used to the short hair and after all is said and done, the story is more important than tiny details like green eyes and messy hair. P.S. And can the little fangirls stop the Dan bashing? it's ridiculous and so obvious. (rolleyes) I was laughing so much at that comment that Dan is not hot anymore while Rupert is cause Rupe didn't cut his hair. Hunny, your idol will not improve in looks just because the lead star got his hair cut, most probably on orders from the studio.

The hair scares me! This is rather redundant since almost everyone has said that but it still should magicaly go back to the way it was!!! Hes flippin Harry Potter he should magicaly grow it back! I hope Ruperts hair is okay though lol!

NOOO! i swear, i personally think his hair was good in GoF, because his hair was suppesed to be "unable to obey a comb" and thar hair looks pretty managable to me. i cry that once again they ruin another improtant aspect of Harry and the over all movie, but laugh because Dan looks like he has a big head without all his hair. =) but then again, it is just hair.

Whoever said that Harry never cut his hair in the books, it would be down to his back if he didn't, and the books never tell us that it was. I'm sure Jo never felt the need to mention everytime a character changed their hair slightly. All teenagers are going to change their hair sometime throughout 7 years. It's just something we can expect.

One can only hope that Dan's hair grew back rapidly as Harry's is said to have done in reference to a past occurance when Aunt Petunia chopped all Harry's hair off (except the fringe) because of how messy it was.... I live in hope!

I like the hair - it shows that he's getting older and more mature. He's not supposed to look like an 11 year old in all the books!

On the special features on the fourth film (the interviews to be specific) his hair looked simliar in my opinion to the cut featured in this promotional pic. But for those who are upset regarding this new cut for Dan remember two things: First at least it isn't the 80"s fro cut, and it isn't a mulet! LOL
