Deathly Hallows film to be split in two parts?
Deathly Hallows film to be split in two parts? UPDATE: Empire Online is now quoting WB as saying "no decision has been made," in part because no script exists yet. Steve Kloves cannot begin work on the Deathly Hallows script because of the US writer's strike. We'll let you know more once we hear it!

Several visitors have sent in this article from the Daily Mail, which claims crews working on Half-Blood Prince have been told the final film will be split:

A film source said: "There's so much to fit that the view is the last movie should be in two halves. There is a huge battle when Harry, played by Daniel Radcliffe, takes on Voldemort that needs to be done really well."

What's more, the Daily Mail claims that big name directors such as Steven Spielberg are being considered to direct Deathly Hallows. We'll look into this rumor and let you know what Warner Brothers has to say!

I'm so glad that they're doing this. There's 2 much important stuff in the book 2 leave out of the movie. Why couldn't they of done this for movie 5 or 6???

i think splitting is not the best idea to give the book justice. why not just extend the movie longer than 3 hours? i can go all day just watching harry potter. the idea spielberg directing is cool. ryt now, im more concerned on movie 6.

Ah I would love for DH to be cut in two, I think it's a great idea. I think they would just have to cram in so much if they made it into one film. I'm not sure how I feel about Spielberg- I love him as a director. I just don't know how he views the world about Harry Potter. But what I like is that DH to me is an epic adventure book- and I think that's a genre that Spielberg does very well (Indiana Jones, anyone?)

I'LL TELL YOU WHAT GETS ME? And I try not to be rude here or anything. But I refer to rob1007 (who posted the comment on another board). I hate it how there are little Harry Potter fans (aged 10 and below) who practically storm every Harry Potter event, so fans like us, who have been Harry Potter fans since even before they existed (since like 1997) don't get a chance to see ANYTHING! Now, I think it's kind of cool how we have little Harry Poter fans in this world now, but I just get extremely annoyed how they ruin everything, and storm events. OMG I'm being really mean there to the younglin's. And I said that the wronggg way, but you see what I'm trying to say... I hope :)

yaaaaaaaaaohhhhhhhhhhhooo ooooooooooo thats the great news 4 a new year to start !!!!!!!! u r doing justice to the book!

Posted by darkmysticphoenix21 Jan 17th 2008

Well well just have 2 wait n see but i prefer 7 not 8 movies.DH can be done well if they just stick to the story and dont rush it like they did order

They said they were going to do this before they started writing Goblet of Fire. Then I was a little iffy as well as now. I don't see them turning the final book into two films. I couldn't really see a place in the story that they could just end and leave you on a satisfying note until the second part. I would rather the book stay as one long story...I don't care how long it is. And you know that everyone will sit through it because look at how long Return of the King was, and I saw it in the theatre multiple times.

I think instead of having 2 seperate movies for the last one...that it should just be longer then the other, maybe even have an intermission or something. It will have more of the detail for the book and the opportunity to do it justice. And I think that it is fair to say that those who are fans of Harry Potter would sit through it until the end... :)

I'm 55 was introduced to Harry Potter buy my daughter when she was given the first book as a set work book when the first book came out I throughly enjoyed it and have read all the books umpteen dozen times Regarding the splitting of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows I give it a definite YES They should also reissue the earlier movies and put in all that was tragically left out of the movies The books were brilliant but unfortunately the movies were cut to pieces I for one would like to see EXTENDED VERSIONS of all the Harry Potter movies with NOTHING left out It was done for Lord of the Rings surely it could be done for HArry Potter as well Regarding Steven Spielberg directing it I'm cool with that As long as Peter Jackson does not touch the movies the movies will be good - Give it to him and we will be in for a ten hour movie with each scene taking 20 minutes and overly drawn out

that is a good news 4 all the fans in India and the world ...... i wonder what the name of 8 movie will be ...... and isnt 7 lucky number ...so why make the 8th movie?? any guesses for the name of 7 and 8 movie???

Posted by Aragog1000 Jan 18th 2008

I think the eigth movie will be Harry Potter and the Mountain of Cash.

That would be a kinda good kinda bad thing. It would be fabulous if they did that because then, when the first part came out, we would have even more to look forward to, since there would be another part coming out. Plus, if they split it up right, it woul dleave you hanging at the end of part 1 and then you'll tell your friends, they'll go see it, and want to see the next one. BOOM! Instant Harry Potter fans. But, then again, if they didn't split it up right, it could come out terrible and it woule be a horrific way to end the series. Also, I hope the writer's strike doesn't effect or delay the date of the movie coming out. That would be tradgic!

I don't know if splitting it two parts would be a good thing but I do agree that the final battle needs to be done very well! So I'm glad they're taking that into consideration and not just making the film for the sake of making the film!

I would love to see Tim Burton film the last film. I really think he would do a great job. I love Jonny Depp but he would have to stay out of this film.

Well I don't know about the producers and stuff. But if they Need to make this movie the best on ever so if they need to split it up into 2 parts to do it I think that it is fine.

They put the word "rumor" in bold. Is that just me, or is that really funny?
