Posted by Beegee I prefer the paperback editions. My hardback editions are falling apart! Me too. As soon as i got my HBP...it was falling at the seams. Now about two hundred pages are seperated. I probably got the worst copy in the world. Not to mention the pages where Snape killed Dumbledore were stuck together...

Im pretty carful with paperbacks but lately when the books are to thick it puts to much strain on the cover. My Goblet of Fire copy the front has fallen of and Order of the Phoenixs is right behinde it. So I think Ill make a stretch and buy hard back.

thank goodness!!!!!!!!!!! i really want to get the book but the hard cover is too much money!!! i cant wait to get it in paperback

They both have their pros and cons. Paper are cheaper, but u have to wait so long to get it and the print is so small. Hardcover is expensive but u can get it right away and can see it better. i agree, i want book 7 too. (deep breaths)

......the bad thing is that mine have been used so much that huge sections of the book come out and we have to rubber cement them back in. I admitt that i dont take care of them as good as i should (bad concon, bad concon) but 'tis too late now. OH AND 'GREY' YOUR LIKE THE ONLY OTHER PERSON FROM MN I'VE SEEN ON HERE (no offense to the people that are but they just dont say... MN ROCKS!! lol jk. :)

I have been waiting for the 25 for a while. Yippee! It is almost here! What I have found is that if one is careful with the paperbacks they tend to stay together just as well as the hardbacks. I own all the books in paperback, read them a lot, and they are still in almost perfect condition. I like paper back because they are cheaper. Also because they are lighter and smaller they are easer to carry around.

Cool!

Wow I was just looking in a bookshop yesterday and I saw the HBP paperback going for about two-thirds of the price I paid for my hardcover version of HBP last year. Made me kind of wish I'd got the paperback... Not only because it was cheaper but also because it was lighter, easier to read on-the-go and thinner (takes up less space). Additionally, although I constantly re-read my books (paperback or otherwise), none of them have ever fallen apart. However, considering that I paid the other one-third of the cost to read (and re-read a few times, I might add) HBP when it was first released and over the past year, I'm not too sad. Besides, I like the backcover of the hardback version better because the paperback version has a different summary. (A REALLY WEIRD summary if you ask me!)

It has a different summary? Ok. I couldnt wait a year or so for a paperback version and the hardbacks survive longer. I seem to rip the paperbacks.
