i agree with i_LOVE_rupert_grint...i didnt like the third movie at all, nor did i like the 5th, it's a pretty close toss up as to which movie was the worst. i wouldnt say i hate the directors, as i dont mind some of the other stuff theyve done. however, i will reserve judgment on yates until after i have seen HBP. personally, i would really like to see either newell or columbus return as director for DH.

I hope its NOT David Yates. OOTP SUCKED. I just want someone who will be loyal to the books. I also think its kinda funny that we are already worrying about DH, and HBP isn't even made yet. I liked PS and COS the best.....I hope Chris Columbus does it..... =-)

well no offense david yates is a good guy and respected but he rushed through the 5th really quickly and did not have much on the book it was like alot scenes put together but i still loved it cause its harry pottor lol i hope its either columbus or Alfonso Cuaron i mean david yates did not do a bad job i like him i just think these two can do a better job thats all

In my own opinion only one man should direct "Deathly Hallows". Joss Whedon. I can see know one else directing it....

Need I remind everyoe that when it comes to staying "true to the book" in storyline point of view that the director is not fully incharge of that, that's the screenwriter's job. Personaly OOTP is my favourite film, I loved Yates, and I'm really looking foward to HBP. Columbus defintely wont be back, Cuaron maybe, and Newell, well I hope to God that he isn't back. But if I were to put a bet on who is the DH director, at this point, I'd comfortably put it on Yates. I'm trusting the reports. The thing is, if DH is split into 2 (I'm pretty sure it's gonna) I'll beover the moon to have Yates back, but if it were one.. well I dunno.. Soz for the long comment XD

I'm getting that excited harry potter feeling in the pit of my stomach with all this news coming about. I want to know, and I want to know now.

I don't want Mike Newell to do the last film. Although this one may not be right for Columbus, cause people say he makes them too happy, he may be good at this. I wouldn't mind Yates. I thought OOTP was the best best film so far and Cuaron might be good too. I really don't know. As long as John Williams does the score, I still want a good director. Good thing I don't have to decide. lol.

We need a skilled director for DH, someone who knows what theyre doing and someone who knows how to direct a film to not only please the fans, but to appeal to the masses as well (non hp fans). I mean, the good thing about movie 1 & 2 was that anyone could understand it, whether hardkore fan or stranger to the series. Plus it was pretty exciting too (but a bit too cherry imo). So i would be happy if Columbus was to return for DH, as he was quite loyal to the books, and he has previous experience with the existing cast & crew. I actually wouldnt mind Newell or Alfonso Cuaron either. Wouldve liked Spielberg but that rumour has been squashed >_

If anyone comes back, I believe it should be Chris Columbus or Mike Newell. I didn't like PoA that much but I'd rather Cuaron come back then Yates. Yates shouldn't be allowed to go NEAR anything Harry Potter. He has ruined one of the movies and, from the news we're getting, one more. If this is true, then the series will end horribly.

No Yates please. The problem with Yates was not that he had cut few plots but that he made the film blunt and boring in the middle.Dursleys were awkward. The total film was too blue.and the editing was horrible as very few scenes had any real effect on the audience.Anyways,i dont care would direct DH except yates but if Cuaron comes back i would be the happiest.

Yates is the guy who said HBP was all about "Sex, drugs, and rock and roll," if he directs DH then Harry and Ginny wouldn't be walked in on in the burrow on Harry's birthday, and when Harry wakes up in Grimmauld Place he'll see Ron and Hermione spralled across each other on the floor. Im a shipper, but seriously! Yates is creepy!
