Half-Blood Prince filming takes place at Millenium Bridge
Half-Blood Prince filming takes place at Millenium Bridge Milo from has sent in a report from the Millenium Bridge in London, where crews have been filming this weekend for Half-Blood Prince. Details:

- Filming is for the bridge collapsing scene.
- About 60 crew members and 120 extras.
- Stuntmen will be falling into the river.
- Bridge was being filmed with helicopter, on foot, and mounted camera crane.
- Crews were only allowed to film every half hour to allow public on bridge.
- More location shoots will be taking place in London.

You can see a nice collection of photos right here in our galleries. Milo also tells that she asked a crew member about Deathly Hallows being split in two, to which he smiled and nodded. Expectedly, he also said filming for both parts will occur back to back. Thanks again, Milo!

Milo from where? nice typo andrew :P

Posted by britfan Mar 9th 2008

Oh cool! I hpe they keep the bridge collapsing scene in the final cut of the film after all the editing is done... something like this would be good to get across to the audience the idea that Voldemort and the DE's are running riot.

Posted by MyLifeDependsOnMugglecast Mar 9th 2008

That's so cool!

Posted by wumples Mar 9th 2008

Wow thats exciting news! Cant wait to see this scene in the movie!

Posted by tomriddle Mar 9th 2008

I really hope the splitting in two thing is true. If you think about keeping all the stuff in DH in one film it would be 5 hrs. So why not make it two? Im also really impressed that they are keeping or rather adding this bridge scene in the film. I really did not expect to seee this one. Its quite a nice surprise.

Posted by reconrider Mar 9th 2008

am i the only one who doesn't remember a bridge collapse in HBP?

Posted by randomchat Mar 9th 2008

Woah! That's amazing! Well, we don't actually SEE the bridge collapse in the book, so perhaps this was the additional scene WB was talking about? It fits! And it would make sense JKR would approve.

Posted by britfan Mar 9th 2008

Actually it's very suitable that the Millenium Bridge should be the one which collapses, considering all the trouble they had with it swaying from side to side when it first opened. But if people want to be especially pedantic, this bridge opened for the Millenium (hence its name) so didn't exist at the time when HBP is set - but that's an irrelevant point which I thought I'd state and dismiss before someone else makes a big thing of it.

Posted by kooldude10694 Mar 9th 2008

i didnt expect to see the bridge in the film either. i had no idea what they were talkin bout at first lol. and DH in two!!! yES! TOP 10!

Posted by dizzyshar Mar 9th 2008

Sounds like to me that this scene will most likely be a small part of an montage sequence they plan possibly in the beginning of the movie durning the credits. Then maybe after the credits then panning down to Harry and Dumbledore walking down the street. However, I would have rather have seen the chapter in the book with Fudge talking to the PM.

If DH is split in two with an intermission, I would be incredibly happy. It's set to come out in 2010 or something? I hope that's enough time.

Posted by angelina_johnson92 Mar 9th 2008

NO!!!!!! Deathley Hallows can not be split! What scene is this?

Posted by HpAlwaysN4ever Mar 9th 2008

Wait, so it's actually being split??? I feel like that was hidden in the news post instead of being the headline lol.

Posted by shewhomustnotbenamed113 Mar 9th 2008

How very WAR OF THE WORLDS meets CLOVERFIELD of them. should make HBP more intimidating than they've made it out to be:)

peevespmc- good videos!!! mannnnn splitting will just be lame.

Posted by Photobrad Mar 9th 2008

Don't believe a word the crew member says (about the DH film being split in two). Unless it comes from Warner and the producers, it's not true. Any crew member who leaked that information (even if it is true) would be instantly fired.

Posted by addicted2chocolatenhp Mar 9th 2008

Two more movies! YAy! YAy! Yay!

Posted by Steelsheen Mar 9th 2008

thanks for those vids peevespmc! so a two movie DH is just about a done deal eh? and filmed back to back. great news! this deserved its own headline LOL i dont know what WB is waiting for, they're always late with giving official announcements.

Posted by Helter_Skelter Mar 9th 2008

That's so cool! I've actually been there it's so neat.

Posted by tiassa Mar 9th 2008

The fact that the title isn't about DH split to two makes me think that this Milo guy isn't a high enough sorce of information to confirm that rumor(I mean no offence by this). I do hope it gets splits though and that this is the scene they were talking about. It actually was mentioned just not seen in the book(first chapter).

Posted by dancing_hippogriff Mar 9th 2008

I wonder if this is a credible enough source, to assume it's true that DH will be split. I personally would love a 4 or 5 hour movie with an intermission in the middle.

Posted by katie_ella_30 Mar 9th 2008

personally, i think that they didn't title this with "Deathly Hallows to Be Split in Two" because Warner Brothers hasn't made the official announcement yet. if MuggleNet were to post this too early, wouldn't it be considered a leak of news? and i don't think they want to be a part of that. if this Milo person is high enough on the Harry Potter stepladder to be actually working on the movie, i think we can trust his word; at least to a certain extent. and i'm sure that's exactly what andrew was thinking when he didn't make it the headline. thanks for the story andrew!

So is this going to be a little clip about that bridge the prime minister mentioned in the book? I can't wait for Mugglcast, I'm all confuzelled. About DH, the only thing I'm worried about is when they're going to release the two. In my opinion, thy should only be a month apart. At the same time is definatly no good, and a year is also no good. *sigh* I wich they would have a 4 hour movie with an intermission also.

Posted by hermy62442 Mar 9th 2008

wow, I didn't expect them to keep the bridge in the book! I wonder if they'll cast a Scrimgeour and a muggle prime minister...?

Posted by sticky Mar 9th 2008

oh wow...i was there like a week ago!!!!!! on that bridge that they are going to film :D only if i was able to delay it and go when they were filming...that would have been awesome!!!!

Posted by hermione11 Mar 9th 2008

Thank you so much Milo! Especially for asking the crew member about DH! That is so awesome! You have seriously answered many questions for the fans!

Posted by hpintwense06 Mar 9th 2008

yay! They're keeping the bridge scene in!!! That makes me very glad. =]

Posted by hpmonkeyaround92 Mar 9th 2008

does this mean the bridge collapse??? YAYAY

Posted by phoenixknight Mar 9th 2008

AWESOME COOL SWEET! THEY'RE GONNA PUT THAT IN! IT'S GONNA BE SICK ON SCREEN! G'YEAH, NOW I'M UP FOR THIS FILM, CAN'T WAIT! ok guys, i'm done wih my hyperness, lol. :)

Posted by Dobbysgirl13 Mar 9th 2008

OMG she is sooo lucky!!! BUt you know it's not official!!! Si does this mean they are doing ch.1 ogf hpp?

Posted by kasbrina Mar 9th 2008

AWESOME! I had a dream about this scene a few months ago! I can't believe they chose this bridge it looks just like my dream version! Coolness! :D Cannot wait, on the split I'm up for it as long as it's an intermission!

Posted by halfbloodprince6 Mar 9th 2008

lol how does spiltting movies work? like does one buy 2 tickets for each film or wait until the next day or right after the first part finishes?

Posted by ginerva_weasley Mar 9th 2008

halfbloodprince - it will probably be like the onld movies (Gone with the Wind, Sound of Music) where you will see the first two hours, have a ten-minute intermission, and then go see the second part.

Posted by Emi_5 Mar 9th 2008

huh......well i guess this is cool....showing that Voldemort really is back and not only in the wizard world but hes also strong in the muggle world......tyhis wasn't a big thing in the bok but i guess it'll be cool to see. but the whole splitting DH.....are we gonna see the first half and then a week later see the rest?....hows that all gonna work?....bit confiziling.

Posted by xoxoshannonxoxo Mar 9th 2008

I CAN NOT wait for this movie!!!! Half Blood Prince was my favourite book!!! This scene sounds AWESOME!!!! =-)

Posted by july21tillhp7 Mar 9th 2008

wow those are some amazing pics!! Its gonna be sweet watching this scene in the movie, cause u can see how it was filmed!!

Posted by sirbackbite Mar 9th 2008

I was there at the Tate Modern on saturday afternoon and was stopped from crossing the bridge by the security guys. Some of the crew were saying it was a commercial, others a film but nobody mentioned HBP. Although I have just checked the IMDB page of HBP and the names on the back of the chairs that were there do match the second unit credits. The thing that made me laugh was that every so often they would clear the bridge of all the tourists/locals in order to shoot a take and replace them with a bunch of extras who looked EXACTLY the same as the tourists/locals they just cleared off :)

Posted by Wizard4243 Mar 9th 2008

these pics are great and im going to look at those videos one of yall said was out. As far as haveing dh in two movies i think that would be great they would put everything in the movie then.

Posted by The_Oddball Mar 9th 2008

Why can't WB get this right? I mean, DH isn't even the longest book. Why couldn't they do this for GoF, OotP, and HBP? I mean, I think that spliting DH will be great but will ruin the first six films. If they want to make the fans happy they should have started a LONG time ago!!

Posted by snapeluver1777 Mar 9th 2008

2 MOVIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YES!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by Ginny Mar 9th 2008

2 movies sounds great!... but i still wonder how they will make it... its got to be fluent... and well made... i dont want them to rush it... i dont care if the actors look older, i just want harry to end the right way... its been such a grand thing in my life, that i really dont want them doing any high school musical crap in the end... thanks milo for giving us the news!... and thanks andrew for keeping us updated!... hip hip hoorray to both !=D

Posted by ginerva_weasley Mar 9th 2008

ginny - what's 'high school musical crap'? a lame ending? random synchronised dancing? zac efron? do tell.

Posted by Quiscalus Mar 9th 2008

Yeah, I kinda see the 'new pacing for HBP now'. Also, 2 part films is starting to sound better and better. The thing is, they'll have A LOT more to live up to if they do so.

Posted by LJB85 Mar 9th 2008

The Milo guy did not even say "Yes". He only "smiled and nodded" Could mean anything, like he just smiled at the idea of it. He did not say that the producers are allowing DH to be made into two. And if it is made into two...I have a feeling the first movie will be shorter than all the previous six...Expect barely two hours or even just under two hours for both of them! That is just my gut feeling. Now don't start cursing, I'm just telling it like it is.

Posted by grintloverr Mar 9th 2008

umm thats bloody brilliant ;)

Posted by harrypotteraddict Mar 9th 2008

1. Milo is from EvannaLynchFans.com 2. In the news bit about this in EvannaLynchFans, It shows a quote from Milo's email/letter, where it says nothing about the crew member smiling and nodding. It says "I asked a crew member about DH and YES THE MOVIE WILL BE SPLIT IN TWO!" or something like that. But does this mean they're doing Chapter 1 of HBP?
