Queen's party coverage; JKR 'sad' to see HP end
The Queen's 80th birthday celebration at Buckingham Palace took place today and a report by CBBC Newsround states that JK Rowling was one of the first stars to arrive. Additionally, Rupert Grint, Emma Watson and Matthew Lewis were in attendance to see the show. A video of the pre-recorded sketch, featuring Dan, Rupert, Emma and Matt, played during the "Queen's Handbag" performance can be seen here (screencaps here), thanks to reader Nick.

At the event, Jo said of Book 7: "I am feeling sad as it is the last one. But so far, so good." Regarding the book's progress, she said: "I'm doing well I think. You can never really tell till you get near the end. I am not quite there yet."
Apparently, JK was "mobbed" by kids but said, unperturbed: "This is the bit I like. I like meeting them."
Update: Jo told The Times at the event that she "always believed children would come back to enjoying books - and that's not just down to me." Harry Potter would have been "a bit fazed" by the event, she said. "But he's quite cool, and I think he would have been impressed."

Aw Man! I wish I could have been there. I tried to watch it on the BBC, lastnight, but it wasnt on. :( That made me very, very sad. I'm confused, some people said JKR read, but others said she didn't. I wonder what channel it was on. Oh well, I guess it will be on the internet sometime...
It was nice and all, and to many people opposing certain Prime Minister actions, Harry's line of "He's not very choosy, is he?" was hillarious. But please tell me.....well the Queen's husband (Phillip right?) He was laughing and se just looked.....like my sister's monther-in-law....Why can't she smile...LOL
The clip was kind of dumb, but hey- the movies are all PG-13 now, so they had to try and make something G-rated. I thought it was pretty cool that the Harry Potter film crew went through all that trouble to make that clip. Oh, i wish i lived in England!!! And Dan's hair? Well...it isn't TOO bad, i guess. It could be a bit more messy like Harry's, but it's okay.

NOT teenage Harry potter fans " - Harry Potter isnt only 4 teenagers, JKR said that her books are aimed at children herself, if it was for teenagers, they wouldnt have shown it at the "CHILDREN'S garden party" innit -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I know kids like Harry Potter too, I'm just saying that it is the older fans who are moaning about the play when it wasn't even for them.
well Jo definitely succeeded in getting kids to read again, or at least me. i hated reading and thought it was boring, long, and pointless until the day i picked up prisoner of azkaban and now i read all the time! but she says it isn't QUITE finished yet. it definitely sounds like she is already beyond the halfway point. jeesh she is moving fast, esspecially with three kids, one of them still a baby!
K . . . I just have one question. If JKR is so sad about the last book, why doesn't she just write another one?
wands_r_us 15: Everyone holds the Queen in awe? Yeah right! A couple of pages back, someone asked WHICH ONE THE QUEEN WAS .. That's how important she is. Jesus. I hate Dan's hair ... It makes his head look massive .. And Emma's fringe (not bangs in England) makes her look 11 .. who has a fringe like that anymore? (Well her, obviously but still...)

anyone have the entire happening? i do love that 5 minute clip and it was funny and great for younger audences, but anyone have it after when it stops with the cop talking about midway? and did dan show up?
im sooo sad *sob*............. only 7 books..... jk is really ending the series..... wow.... i was hoping she would write more...... its finaly happening.... what will we do when its over? will we ever visit mugglenet again??? will there ever be more news in the news collum??????? wow.... its ending..... its never really going to sink in until we read the last word in the 7th book for the 8th time........or watch the 7th movie for the 5th time..... we have always said "oh! dont worry! ther are like...3 books left for jo to write!" well....now that is gone....only 1 more.... we no longer have that hope....that feeling of reassurence....that there would always be more.....that the wonderful world of hp would never end.....like somthing that wonderful would last forever and keep writing its self..... its gone....its over.... its never coming back.... every REAL commited hp fan has felt this.... *sob* but then some of us will still love hp... still read the books.... still believe that even though we are older than 11 and know that we are tottaly muggles will glance out the window every day waiting for that owl that will come with the hogwarts letter and tell us were wizards...that theres been a mistake... Wow! Emma is taller than Rupert! lol Did anyone else notice that? She looks to have grown a lot. She's tall! I also like her hair cut! She looks gorgeous! Rupert and Matt look nice too. But more pictures need to be posted! I am not trying to complain, but it seems like there would be more pictures because a lot of people atteneded the event. Well, can't wait to see more pictures! :)

Their video is so funny! It was very nice to see another Harry potter video in Hogwarts!!! Ohhhh I miss the books and the filmmmmmmms How can they be relaxed as they are just 2 m from the Queen??? I will be really scared
