Matt Lewis speaks at Collectormania, confirms DH split
Collectormania 2008 hosted Matt Lewis and his brother yesterday in Manchester, England, where he answered several questions about the Harry Potter films. Snitch Seeker has a small report from Matt Lewis' talk, where one reader says he did confirm previous rumors that Deathly Hallows would be split in two.All of these leaks and quotes from people inside the Potter film are adding up, and at this point an announcement from WB should be imminent. We'll keep you posted!

I'm SO excited that they're splitting the movie! It means that it will be so much better of a movie for us fans. They might even get more of our favorite specific lines in- I love Harry Potter quotes. And I'm definitely hoping this means no major changes like with the other movies!! That would be so fantastic. Now there's just one question. Where will they split it??
yeah...if they made it one long movie with an intermission(like Grindhouse) most people wouldnt be able to sit through it. the harry potter movies have always been "blockbusters" and its because people who arent fans go to see them too. but if it was one long movie, people who arent fans probably wont be interested and WB needs them to be if they want blockbuster hits. face it, only the die hard fans are going to sit through the whole thing.
kerrman 2004 : if they will split DH and realise the two parts with a couple of months apart as you are saying-i will freak out, i mean how can i watch half the movie and then watch the other part after a couple of months? they must realise them at the same time with the same cover
i want them now 2 release 1 half. then when that half leaves theaters release the other half!
yay! wait is this positive?
nifty. we'll just wait for WB now.
The one thing we haven't heard is what Jo thinks of the split. I'm waiting for that to make up my mind.
Thats cool its being split into two. I wonder where they would end the first part. I probably think that they are going to end with Ron leaving and Hermione screaming for him to comeback. That would be a very good cliff hanger for those who do not read the books (: I can't wait until the movies come out!!!
I'm glad they've decided to do this. The writers have shown before that they find it hard to fit in a whole book into one film because they've been trying to stick to the book too closely, and as a result made a mess of the script. Hopefully this way we get a faithful movie, and many more hours of Potter, which is what everyone wants! I hope however this doesn't mean there will be a new title made up for one of the films. It should be just 'Death Hallows Part 1' and 'Part 2' or something.
Yeah, I'm sure they are splitting it becase a bigger profit will be made- it's a business, that's a producer's job: to make as much money as possible. Besides, I'm sure that after putting so much into these movies they DO care about the quality of what will be released. And even if they for some strange reason don't care about the quality of their filmmaking, the fans still gain. It's a winning situation for us who have been screaming for this since movie 1. So I really don't see why people are complaining about WB/producers doing this just for money.
IT'S BEEN CONFIRMED!!! IT'S ON THE LEAKY CAULDRON RIGHT NOW!! THE LA TIMES JUST RELEASED AND EXCLUSIVE ARTICLE ABOUT IT!!!!! I'M SOOOOOO FREAKIN' EXCITED RIGHT NOW!!!! I'M NOT TOO HAPPY ABOUT HOW FAR APART THEY'RE GOING TO BE RELEASED BUT OH WELL!! I STILL CAN'T WAIT!!!!
i'm thoroughly thrilled. itll be a good way to end it .
Even though I understand the pros of having the 7th movie split into two, I still don't really want it to happen. I'd love one long movie because I kinda doubt it's gunna be really great anyways so might as well keep it at the original 7. none of the movies since the Chris Columbus ones have done the books justice. Chris' could still go for some improvement, but I liked his the best. the rest seem to be just going for whatever makes a "cooler movie" rather than what is true to the books. OOTP was getting closer, but it was still an awkward spark notes version. that's just me though.
DEATHLY HALLOWS TO BE MADE IN TWO FILMS. Kloves to finish as screenwriter, Yates to direct! OK, MUGGLECAST, what's going on with the live show?!
No! This is a horrible idea, just like I've been saying all along! There is absolutely no way that spittling one story into is going to work. It's going to end up being crappy and inconsistant. The first half can't possibly end in a way that will seem like a complete story. It just won't work. Then all the no-obsessive people who come to see the movie will be disappointed and not understand why it ends right there. Then they'll save there money and not go see the second movie. Then WB won't get the profits they're lookig for and we'll get two crappy movies instead of one good one. No one wins. I also think that some people don't understand that no matter how much the movie is stretched and split, every single detail from the book is not going to be in it. There's just absolutely no way. The only way to do it would be to have someone just sit on set and read the entire book on film. Besides, do you really want to watch the trio wandering around in the woods for two hours, waiting for something interesting to happen?
http://www.the-leaky-caul dron.org/2008/3/12/la-tim es-says-official-two-part s-for-harry-potter-and-de athly-hallows-movie "The L.A Times is reporting an exclusive today: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows will be made in two films, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1" , and "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II. Furthermore, the paper cites producer David Heyman confirming the return of David Yates as director for both films, with Steven Kloves to finish out his duties as screenwriter for both Harry Potter movies as well. The movies are to be filmed at the same time, and will be released several months apart, with Part One due November 2010, and Part Two, May 2011."
http://www.latimes.com/en tertainment/news/movies/l a-et-potter13mar13,0,7162 166.story "Heyman said he approached Rowling with some trepidation about the strategy but found that she signed off on its logic rather quickly. "I went to Jo and she was cool with it," Heyman said, "and that was quite a relief."" If Jo ok'd it, then I'm cool with it too.
Yaaaaaaayyyyyyy!!!! I'm sooo glad they are splitting DH!!! This way they will be able to put all of the important parts in the movie instead of pulling a OOTP and taking everything out and changing everything.=o)
I'M SOOOOO EXCITED DAVID YATES IS COMING BACK TOO!!! HE'S AWESOME! I'M NOT TOO HAPPY ABOUT THE TIME IN BETWEEN THE TWO MOVIES THOUGH. PART ONE IS GOING TO BE RELEASED IN NOVEMBER 2010 AND PART TWO IS GOING TO BE RELEASED MAY 2011! THAT'S A LONG TIME! BUT WE STILL HAVE MOVIE 6 TO GO AND THEN WE'RE GOING TO HAVE FREAKIN' TWO YEARS UNTIL THE FIRST PART COMES OUT. NOOOOOOO!!!!!! BUT I LOVE THIS IDEA. JUST LIKE DAN RADCLIFFE SAID BOOK 7 IS JUST POUNDING ACTION FROM START TO FINISH THERE ARE NO SUBPLOTS TO CUT OUT, SO THERE'S NO OTHER WAY FOR THEM TO DO IT.

I love Matt Lewis! He is the best Neville.
I don't like it being split ion two. Sitting in the cinema, being really excited about hopw great this movie is, and then, it stops.. that's got to suck. In my opinion DH gets more and more excited as we progress through the story. I'd rather have aloong movie. But on the other hand we'd have to wait a lot longer for the movie to come out. Dunno really, I think I'd like it to be as one movie.
thats a good pion t but hoo wants another GOF?
Matt Lewis!!!!!!!!!!!! : )
