Dan is becoming too clean cut for the HP character. The longer messy hair fits the role better.

Posted by butterbrewski10 Mar 19th 2008

yea im digging hermione's bushy hair but the advertisment poster is pretty boring

Posted by sara_dobby Mar 19th 2008

Mmmm...too be honest I'm not really getting my hopes up. My excitement for the movies kind of died after seeing the fourth one. They just aren't that good to be honest. I haven't even see the fifth one yet and its been like, a year since it came out!

Posted by rooon Mar 19th 2008

I met Daniel Radcliffe!!!!!!!!!! No joke!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!YYYYYYYYYY YYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYY YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY YYYY

Posted by adri_ana_ Mar 19th 2008

The picture must be from before Hermoine and Ron are fighting. Oh man I can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by WickedRoses Mar 20th 2008

I'm so getting the April edition. Ugh why do we have to wait until November for the movie. This bites

Posted by kerrman2004 Mar 20th 2008

Emma looks ridiculous as Hermione. Don't get me wrong, Emma is very pretty and has grown into a beautiful young woman but Hermione is meant to have wild brown bushy hair that she cannot control. Not blonde curls! And i'm guessing Hermione wouldn't be that thin either, not untill the 7th book anyway and thats because the 3 off them are starving all the time while they're hiding out. Ron and Harry's hair is stupid too, its too sharp and severe. What happened to Harry's wild hair like in POA or GOF. The whole movie franchise is a joke for HP now i think.

Posted by hpninjaskills Mar 20th 2008

@ VampireKisses, I totally agree with what you have to say. "I dunno it looks like another run of the mill Harry Potter film after the Columbus era: Hermione and Harry have their heads together and Ron is off being the watered down character lounging on the couch >_< Why can't Harry and Ron be their canon best best friend selves?!" >>>>>> I mean, why is Emma always by Dan ?! Aren't Ron and Harry the best of friends? I mean, yeah Hermione is his best friend too, but who spends most of his time with Harry? Yes, Ron fricken Weasley! They might as well just have Emma and Dan in this whole movie and just cut Rupert out, seeing that the story's only about Hermione and Harry. =/ Haven't you all noticed that Rupert's not in the movie much? I mean, look at OotP, Emma had like a kajillion lines, while Rupert had hmmm, what, let's all estimate and say 10. This is so annoying. And I read the "Leaked Harry Potter Script" and Hermione & Harry are "walking down the corridor" talking about MALFOY, and Hermione agrees with Harry about "malfoy being up to something"! How ANNOYING is that?! Hermione's not supposed to agree just yet! And why is it only Hermione & Harry?! I mean - I can understand that Ron is snogging LavLav, but what the heck! Okay, just leave Rupert/Ron out of this scene - because Steve Kloves LOVES giving Emma darn lines. He even said himself he loves writing for the character of Hermione. How stupid.

Posted by kerrman2004 Mar 20th 2008

HPNINJASKILLS; I agree with you. Its stupid for Steve Kloves to write so much for Hermione and leave Ron out considering Rupert is a million times better at acting then Emma so he should get more lines. And also, as you mentioned, Ron is Harry's very best friend. Not Hermione! PHOENIXKNIGHT: this msg is for you, I saw your post on the Greyback news article and i have this to say to you: for gods sake relax you are like the most angry person ever! For your information Bill Weasley isn't even in the film so Greyback won't be attacking him. Harry's encounter with Greyback is in the added scene thats NOT IN THE BOOK where Greyback and Bellatrix set the Burrow on fire and there is a big chase scene in the woods next to the Burrow. SO HA! I tried to warn you before that they leave too much out but you wouldn't listen. You will not see Bill or fleur at all in HBP and I doubt they will show Harry fighting Greyback at the end of the film in Hogwarts.

Posted by padfoot186 Mar 20th 2008

woo! now it's only going to be months until a trailer, because obviously, they're not done filming, im just being a little too anxious. but i love when new pictures come out.

Posted by lunadobby Mar 20th 2008

what's harry giving to hermione? and you're right, hpninjaskills and the others!

Posted by str8_up_lee Mar 20th 2008

anf plus ron is the only good actor from the trio so maybe he does need more lines so he can starighten up the movie abit? just a thot.... lol.............--------- ------------- lol haha i desrved it kayla lol iz okaii :D oh yeah ull have to next week then haha lol ill do some dancing here on my part... i noe i love that song! and alos i like with u.. heard it?

Posted by Emi_5 Mar 20th 2008

yay!!! pictures are always exciting!!.....except these ones.... QUESTION!! did anybody imagine his potions book being a little.....bigger?....idk maybe its just me?.....well im assuming thats what it is.

Posted by hpninjaskills Mar 20th 2008

Thanks for agreeing for me, kerrman2004 and lunadobby. :) I just think that a great actor is being wasted - a lot. Rupert's so talented, and I think they should have him have more lines - or scenes where he's actually talking and NOT standing there looking like a dingbat. People say that Rupert's acting is rubbish and all that stuff, but how would you know that? He doesn't have the CHANCE to show his talents because the spotlight is given to someone else. *cough, cough - if you know who I'm talking about; *cough cough, E.WATSON* But hopefully things will have changed; maybe Rupert will have a lot more lines in Half-Blood Prince. I only hope so. ;)

Posted by Kristi123 Mar 20th 2008

everyone is so negative and rude on here

Posted by kerrman2004 Mar 20th 2008

No problem hpninjaskills I completely agree that Rupert is a wasted talent in the HP films. Its a joke really. When I saw Driving Lessons I was like 'whoa!' i never expected Rupert to be that good ya know because he doesn't seem that good in HP but seeing Driving Lessons made me realise that Rupert has super talent. The scriptwriters don't make Ron Weasley a deep enough character. I cannot friggin wait for DH, then we will see Rupert at his best. his character has to have a big angry argument with Harry and Hermione, be shaken up and freaked when he has to stab the locket, he has to be totally freaked out sobbing and screaming when Hermione is being tortured by Bellatrix, he has to kiss Hermione, and he has to cry and want to avenge Fred's death. I think its gonna be cool! I'm looking forward to those scenes the most for the drama. I also hope that James and Oliver Phelps can act dramatically. I rather liked them in OOTP, we saw a more serious side to them but in DH its like oh my god! I think James and Oliver will turn out to be great actors after Harry Potter

That poster is absolutely terrible. How is that supposed to inspire anyone to want to see the movie? The colors, Harry's expression, everything about it just screams "boring." And though the picture is obviously a screen-cap, it doesn't even look important to the story in any way. They definitely could have jazzed this up some how, with more eye-catching and exciting colors, a more exciting expression/pose, etc. I'm guessing the art director (for advertisements) was on vacation for this one.

Posted by lunadobby Mar 21st 2008

oh, just for the record, i don't have anything against daniel or emma. i just think rupert's character should be as important as the others in the movies, because he really is in tho books

kerrman2004 , THEY'RE GONNA SET THE BURROW ON FIRE! THAT'S FREAKIN' SWEET! YES! How did you find that out? WB is not supposed to mention it yet... now this movie is gonna rock! and JKR approved it. Anyway, in the book, harry does have a little fight with greyback, he stuns him after he attacks neville. read the book well please... no hard feelings. And i watched Children of Men, what a great movie! Better than POA by a mile! So Alfonso should just stick to non-HP movies, he'll be better off...

Phoenixknight: I'm so glad you liked Children of Men, but i still think POA was the best HP movie by far. Anyway i'm not getting into that debate again. Anyway yes i have read HBP like 3 times, I know that Harry has a fight with Greyback but i don't think they'll show it in the movie. I don't see it happening. I found out on www.emma-watson-fans.net I don't know if its 100% true but i think it is. Ususally the news on that site is fake but this article came from the guy who leaked a script for OOTP too,he actually works on the set. And i've read the script and it looks really legitimate. Now, they may decide to change it because it got leaked so don't hold me to that. The fact that Heyman etc... announced that there would be an extra scene involving the Burrow to portray that no-where is safe leads me to beleive that the script is true and Greyback and Bella set it on fire. There is a dramatic chase scene in the woods at the burrow between Harry and Greyback, Bellatrix and Ginny. Its sounds very exciting i must say but then again seeing it on screen is a different matter alltogether. Arthur, Remius Fred and Geroge are in the beginng and end of the scene but not really appart of the chase.

The poster is NOT boring. Think. Why would Harry be walking into a small cottage (background looks like outside, the door is small, etc.)? Because he's following Dumbledore in the Pensieve, and that is Marvolo Gaunt's front door. (minus the snake, must be a ratings thing.) Way too cool, and an extremely important scene, so I think its a great picture.

Posted by phoenixknight Mar 21st 2008

Um sorry to bust your bubble CassiePayne, but Harry is carrying the Half-Blood Prince book, so he should be walking into a classroom, most likely Potions class. And WB announced LONG time ago that te Gaunts have been totally cut from the film... they will be mentioned, but they will not be shown in the Pensieve scenes

Posted by Mintorateoishii Mar 22nd 2008

Regardless of what the poster might be depicting, it's doing it in a very lackluster way. The object of the poster is to get people to want to see the movie. If you know enough about the book to know that that might be the Gaunt scene (though, apparently it's not), chances are you already want to see the movie, so the poster isn't necessarily for you. On its own, the poster does little to catch someone's attention (do you know how many advertisements the average person encounters each day? There's a lot of visual "clutter" posters need to compete with, so they need to stand out), and even if someone should look at it, there's nothing in the poster to get someone to say "Oh, I think I want to see that!" It's like they're getting lazy at advertising just because it's Harry Potter (if they wanted to rely solely on it being Harry Potter, which is what they're doing since that is the only thing that could possibly get some attention for this poster, they could have at least even done that in a more eye-catching way. Bright bold letters with a contrasting background just saying "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" would even be better than this). At the most, the poster might give someone the impression that the film will be a different tone from the rest of them, which could be intriguing, but unfortunately that different tone looks like a muted (read: boring) one. A much better teaser poster could have been just a bright green dark mark on a dark background. The colors and the design of the dark mark get your attention and the dark mark could excite people familiar with the story or intrigue those who aren't. All in all, if this poster were submitted in an advertising class, they'd probably get a very bad grade.

Ohh my brother gets that magazine ... I should steal it!
