I am glad she is Narcissa and not Bellatrix. I think Helena Bonham Carter is perfect for Bellatrix and no one could do it as well. I can see the Narcissa in Helen McCroy...she has that pointed face...give her blonde hair an and attitude and viola Narcissa! Cant wait to see it.

I cannot see her as Narcissa. I can see as Bella, but not a good Bella. Narcissa, to me, needs to look younger.

I think she'll be great! I just hope they make her hair log and blonde. She's not supposed to look just like Bella. Azkaban darkened Bella. Cissy is supposed to be pale with long sleek blonde hair. It's nice to know that she can't wait to be mean and nasty. I'm really looking forward to the HBP. It should be great. I'm also glad they cast Helen Carter for Bella, she's PERFECT for that part.

I don't know who Helen Mcrory is, but I like Helena Bonham Carter as Bellatrix. We just watched 'Hamlet' in History with Helena Bonham Carter as Ophelia. It was odd to see Bellatrix as Ophelia, but she was really good.

They will probably cut Andromeda unless Jo tells them not to, because Dromeda isn't a central character is she? Sure, they may cast her but she wont have a speaking line I bet... I'm starting to fear for the Gaunts! They are You-Know-Who's mother, uncle and grandfather! CAST THEM OMG!

I just don't know.... I cannot see her as Narcissa Malfoy! When I picture Narcissa Malfoy, I have to say that I picture her more like Naomi Watts... don't get me wrong, Helen was great in The Queen as Blair's wife, but I don't think she's the right role for Narcissa Malfoy... the only positive point is that she has a striking resemblence to Bellatrix...

"wicked and witchy" I don't remember Narcissa being wicked... Snooty, sure. But mostly she was an overly protective mother. Wicked is a word I would equate with Bellatrix...

Helen and Helena look like sisters anyway. I can wait to see them in their respective character attire and make-up, I think it will allay any doubts about the casting. :-) Carter plays the "deranged" dark Bellatrix quite well and I'm sure (having seen some of her other work) Helen McCroy will be splendid as the pale Narcissa. Just give her a wig, blue contacts and let the woman be as "wicked and witchy" ... and snooty ... as she wants. I am really looking forward to it! :-)

At first when I heard she was to be Narcissa I was kind of miffed because she doesn't look like her...but then I got a fresh look on her acting (I rewatched the Count of Monte Cristo and Casanova and Becoming Jane) and with blonde hair, I can see her being a believable Narcissa. HOWEVER, I agree with Slither "wicked and witchy" would not be Narcissa...she WAS a protective mother. Heck, she saved the wizarding world! Now snooty on the other hand, would fit her better because I too agree with Slither on the fact that wicked would be a word I'd associate with dear Bellatrix. Perhaps they're trying to make Cissy appear cold natured and wicked (maybe they'll maek her hand Hermione to Bella and Greyback) but then she'll surprise Harry with her act of heroism? I just hope they do a good job with one of my favourite characters on screen!

Actually, and I don't mean to sound like a pessimist, but should we really be expecting complete canon perfection? I know I might've contradicted the last bit said before...but we really shouldn't have high expectations. Chances are they'll be crushed.

This is an ok cast to me. I think, after seeing her previous films, she could portray Narcissa successfully, but I wonder how accuratly it will truly be. I think that with a blond hair and pale skin she can be like Narcissa, but like Slither and Vampirekisses said, she isnt "wicked and witchy", that would be Bellatrix. I am anxious to see how this all works out.

Even in the 6th book, she was crying about Draco throughout Spinners End (which is her main scene). She needs to be in a weakened and desperate state... I can't see how a "wicked Narcissa" would fit in... P.S. Abergoat, I absolutely *love* your name. & I'm, sure Micah appreciates it too. lawl.

Sorry, but I cannot see this lady as Cissa. I always pictured Narcissa Malfoy as a much younger looking woman (about mid-thirtyish). I know they can slap a wig on her and make her wear blue contacts, but I dunno, I can't really see it in her face.

Perfect? She's their worst choice yet. I'm sure she's a wonderfully talented woman. I've seen her in Count of Monte Cristo, she was good, but she's the totally wrong type for Narcissa. They were going to cast her as Bellatrix, Narcissa is the total opposite of her sisters. She'd be a great Andromeda, she is NOT Narcissa.
