I have been a HP fan since day one and, as it seems with many other people on this site, it has got me through some terribly hard times in my life and this whole issue is certainly not going to stop me being a fan. I cannot, however, support Jo in this. Compiling (or attempting to compile) an encyclopedia is not copying someone's work. If I were lucky enough to be paid by someone to write a book review and in it I said that, for example, the Headmaster of Hogwarts at the time that Harry goes there is named Albus Dumbledore, I am not trying to take "... the author's hard work, re-organize their characters and plots, and sell them for their own commercial gain". And nobody in their right mind would take what I have done instead of the books themselves. Just as nobody in their right mind would take an encyclopedia written unofficially by a fan instead of one written by Jo herself.

If goes without saying that you have every *true* fan's full support. You don't stand in that courtroom alone. Regardless of the outcome of this trial, we know fraud when we see it.

you gave them an award and said that when you're stuck for information you'd go to that website to help youremember facts about the new books that you would write, what is written wrongly in the lexicon? if even you use their information. However, I hope for Jo to win this I have no doubt that she will win this. WE are all behind her 100%. I will never buy a hp encylopedia unless it's Jo's. Can't get the series to be more complete that that! anythign else is sub standard. Even lexicon. We'll get Jo's drawings (hopefully) and extra tings we've never een told before. I can't believe that anyone who could possibly call themselves a Harry Potter fan would do this. If I ever wrote something that had to do with Harry Potter and JK ROWLING, not my mom, not the pope, not the president, the writer of the series I'm trying to represent, JK Rowling, told me "Hey, I don't appreciate what you're doing here. It's not your place to do this...I'm planning on making an official (whatever it is I'd by writing)." I would just stop dead in my tracks, ask for an autograph, and move on. What are they even arguing about? How could...GRRR it just gets me so frustrated! Jo, you have my support 100%. This might sound weird, but Jo, you're sort of like a second mother to me. I started reading Harry Potter when I was 8, and now I'm turning 18, and so I've really grown up with Harry and co, and they've changed my life. I owe so many childhood memories, so many good laughs, hours spent reading under the covers when I was meant to be sleeping, years of debates and predictions, all of it thanks to you. So yeah, you feel like a mother to me, and because you've done so much for me (and millions of others around the world), I want to say I'm fully behind you on this. I do feel bad for Steve, as I don't know the full side of his story and I am a big fan of him and his site, but this should have been over a long time ago, when you asked it to all stop. I've seen HP encyclopedias in bookstores and in my local library and I don't understand why those can be published, but the Lexicon can't.

Jo worked so hard writing these books. She has changed many lives and continues as little children in this world right now have just been introduced to the Harry Potter series. I support Jo a hundred percent. This author has every right to protect Harry Potter. These books have helped me through very hard times. It makes me very sad how people try to take advantage of her work. And I cannot imagine how Jo feels like at this moment.

I don't understand why the Lexicon would want to take away from the all inclusive encyclopaedia Jo is doing for charity. FOR CHARITY! These Lexicon publishers are money grabbers, the book Jo intends to write is for charity and they are compromising this!
