Fantabuous!!!!! I can't wait to see it! Two and a half years for the first part and three years for the second part. That seems so far away, but I'm suprisingly in no rush. I just hope they do the book justice. ;)

john_the_boggart I understand your disconcert over the split of the movie, but it seems to me that you've missed the entire point of the reasoning behind it. WB's greed has nothing to do with making the book into a two part movie. That's just a wild conjecture. Any Harry Potter film is going to rake in billions of revenue, anyway, so I don't think they'd need to try so hard to rip open the pockets of the masses to get any more. As far as your theory of losing the story is concerned, it's a complete antithesis of the real reasoning behind the split. Yates clearly stated that one of the biggest reasons for developing the film into two acts was BECAUSE of the concern of losing the story. He said, if you'd read the article, that there was simply too many subplots essential to the narrative that they just couldn't afford to throw any away, as with previous films. This means that Yates understands that the book is an essential finality to the series and wants to handle the subject with the utmost delicacy and care. I think the story will not be lost at all, but rather documented faithfully by an able director who cares about the series and the fans. And by the way, name one book in history that was turned into two movies. I'm curious, because I can think of absolutely none, and you seem to know of plenty.

OMG, that's so exciting!! It always makes it seem so much closer when there's a date set. That will be TORTURE, though, to see only half of the movie, and then have to wait 6 MONTHS to see the rest of it! I know that we all know how it ends, but even so, I don't know if I'll be able to handle the suspense!!

well the source clearly says november 2010, which mean that 2009 will be a NO-POTTER year. well, not that surpricing because that will be the year the shoot DH 1 and 2, but do I like it? eeeuhh NEAAAAHHHH!!, I need my yearly shot of new Potterism.

Splitting DH in 2 films is the dumbest idea on Earth. And with stupid Yates in helm. He screwed up OOTP and he will mess up the end of the series. I mean, how much could you expect from a man who directed 'Sex Traffic.' He's completely mental and retarded. I hope he goes bald. Oh, he already is!

oh, i just thought of something else, 2009 might not be completely potter free, well for me anyways. i live about and hour and a half away from orlando and i go to universal and islands of adventure a few times a year, especially in the summer and there is always the harry potter island to look foward to there! next time i go, im goin on the unicorn even though its a baby ride that i hate just to see over the fence to hogwarts. ill still have fun, dueling dragons is right after it. yay :.d-----samantha

I just talked to my mother about the idea of having to wait so long for movie 7 and she asked me if movie 6 was being split into two parts and I tooked her no, but What do you guys think about having both last movies split into two parts. Part one of movie 6 comes out late 2008 Part two of movie 6 comes out sometime in 2009 Part one of movie 7 comes out November 19 2010 Part two of movie 7 comes out May of 2011. This way each year we have some kind of harry potter release and we don't have to wait as long to see or heard something related to hp.

I just would like to say yaaayyyyyyyy!!! I can't wait and to all of those complaining how old they will be I will be 28 when it comes out . On another point about the ages of the actors they are going to start shooting Febuary of 2009 and they are shooting both film at the same time so thats why it going to take so long. They're going to be filming for the almost the entire year of 2009. So really they won't be much older than they are now,but anways LET THE COUNT DOWN BEGIN!!!!!!!!

I think it's a great idea to split the movie in to two but that also brings up another question if the final move is in two parts does that mean the final video game is going to be either split into two or realeased after part two for the full feel of both the books and movies

2009 is going to be SUCH a long year, with no new books or movies coming out!! :( But then maybe it will make 2010 and 2011 so much more exciting!
