Radcliffe and other Potter actors to attend Knox funeral
Radcliffe and other Potter actors to attend Knox funeral Last week we told you about the death of Half-Blood Prince actor Rob Knox, who tragically die during a fight in London.

It is now being reported that Dan Radcliffe, along with other unnamed Potter stars, will attend Rob Knox's funeral.

Knox had already filmed his part as Marcus Belby.

R.I.P Robert Knox. That's why I am doing a topic for public speaking tribute to Robert Knox. Such a young star.

Posted by modern_marauder Jun 3rd 2008

Thats really respectful of them. Rest In Preace Knox, I have no doubt he was a great actor with loads of potential.

Posted by boobacat Jun 3rd 2008

It's good to see that the actors are that respectful. It's so sad that Rob Knox died.

Posted by jimieo Jun 3rd 2008

my thoughts are with his friends and family. Sucks when we lose someone close to us.

Posted by PottyforPotter Jun 3rd 2008

This is so sad. Robert Knox will be in my thoughts and prayers. Rest In Peace, Robert. You died doing a good deed.

Posted by Kamion Jun 3rd 2008

It's only fair and applaudable the HP actors pay respect to a fellow actor that young, but the downside probably is that the funeral will turn into a mediacircus for the wrong reasons. Knowing the press it will pay more attention to Emma Watson's latest hairdo or Daniels girlfriend, than to the tragedy of which Rob Knox became the victim.

Posted by tiassa Jun 3rd 2008

may he rest in peace

Posted by kooppatil Jun 3rd 2008

yeah it is good that they are going but kamion is right the media will be everywhere and people that have no respect will prolly turn up at the funeral just to see dan. but RIP rob. its sad you had to die so young.

Posted by HPFANTimothy Jun 3rd 2008

I wonder if the fight started was based upon high alcohol levels... I really hate it when this kind of thing happens... and this kid was apparently really nice. May he rest in peace, and I'm sure all HP fans' thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends ;(

Posted by angelina_johnson92 Jun 3rd 2008

That's really nice for the actors to do, even if they were only in a few scenes with him. R.I.P Robert Knox.

Posted by SuzieQ Jun 3rd 2008

Good for them. I didn't for a minute expect him or any other actor for that matter not to go to the funeral, it just acknowledges his life for the whole world. It's actually a good thing that he was in the films when he died; do you think we would have heard about it otherwise? He would have become one more statistic and we wouldn't even have cared. His death is helping us to learn about the consequences of a violent society. On a different note, does anyone think they're going to cut his character out of the movie? or will they leave his scenes in as a tribute to him? It would be neat to see a dedication at the beginning of the film for him.

Posted by Lucas Jun 3rd 2008

Evanna Lynch will probably be there, I really hope the press don't go to it.

Posted by MagicMaker222 Jun 3rd 2008

I am for a few of you on this. I think that the paparazzi will turn the poor boys funeral into a red carpet look-a-like if one or more of the stars of HP show up. I feel bad for his parents who will most likely have to deal with that at their own son's funeral. I think Dan Rupert Emma & Co. should pay their respects and leave just to try to spare the family a little bit. This is just a sad situation for all.

Posted by MagicMaker222 Jun 3rd 2008

SuzieQ~ They shouldn't cut out his part. That would be like them reshooting the part of Joker in The Dark Knight because Heath Ledger pasted away. For Knox and Ledger it's kind of like their last will and testament to what they loved to do..which was act.

Posted by gryffindor_gal_714 Jun 3rd 2008

that's really good of the actors, but this is going to turn the funeral of this brave boy into a paparazzi event. I know i wouldn't want famous film stars at my funeral, no matter how close they were to me. either way, once again, my thoughts are with his family.

Posted by nearly_headless_nick Jun 3rd 2008

People, you are all wrong, the press doesn't even know when and where the funeral takes place. The paparazzis won't be there. When someone famous dies in the UK, the press respects the family and doesn't show up. In fact, the funeral could have already taken place, without no-one of us knowing it.

Posted by quidditchplayer Jun 3rd 2008

Why don't you all read the article before writting comments? It is Robert's uncle who said this to the journalists, he said the family is very happy they are attending the funeral, because it is a very beautiful homenage to Robert. So next time inform yourselves better before writting what you think it s best or not...

Posted by Londs Jun 3rd 2008

Well..it would be headlines whetever the actors. If they decided not to go because they didn't think it was a good idea because the media would gather there it still would be headlines saying how bad they are and lalala. And then the media would be there anyway. My thoughts goes out to the family and others in the same situation. I think it was yesterday or the day before that another teenager was murderd in here in London. =/

Posted by nearly_headless_nick Jun 3rd 2008

Again I repeat it: I know British tabloids are horrible (just look what they did with the headlines to make everyone think "Harry Potter actor" had died, and sell more papers), but even them have a limit, I've never seen British paparazzis taking pics in famous people funerals. It wouldn't be fair that because hsomeone is famous he wouldn't have the right to attend a funeral to honour him and be with the family.

Posted by Rose37 Jun 3rd 2008

When is the funeral? I can go, but i could pray for him at the time of the funeral!!!

Posted by the_shrieking_snack Jun 3rd 2008

Its nice that some of his co-actors/actresses will be there. His family is in my prayers.

Posted by Susan14 Jun 3rd 2008

This story is so sad. I'm glad the actors/actresses are paying their respects. Poor kid. My condolences to his family.

Posted by trueligth Jun 3rd 2008

This is nice to show their respects to one member of the HP family even when he only is in this movie and no more. I give my condolence to the Knox family and to the HP Production too.

Posted by MagicMaker222 Jun 3rd 2008

nearly_headless_nick ~ Never seen British paparazzi taking at a funeral???Where were you at in 1997 when they took Princess Diana through a 4 mile long procession to Westminster Abbey and then to Northamptonshire. Over a million people lined the route and there were film crews and photographers everywhere. Never need British paparazzi huh? I think everyone has...

Posted by 2obsessed4u Jun 3rd 2008

It is so great that there are so many that are going to pay respects to this actor. I agree with whomever said that it's a good thing he was in Harry Potter, else none of us would have known- now we are aware that things like this happen to everyone... no one is invincible. This kid sounds like he died doing a great deed: protecting his loved ones. I hope that he will always be recalled as the hero he definately is. God bless his family and friends; Rob Knox is now at peace. Good for Dan and everyone for going to his funeral. I can't wait to see Marcus Belby in the movie. And MagicMaker222, that wasn't Princess Di's actual funeral; that was a public funeral procession. There is a difference.

Posted by SwimSwamSwum Jun 3rd 2008

It's so great some of the actors will attend I bet Emma won't go. Stupid girl.

Posted by hp_rox_my_sox15 Jun 3rd 2008

um swimswamswum... why would emma not go, and how is she stupid? even if she didn't go, she'd probably busy... everyone misses a funeral every once in a while... =P

Posted by peroxwhy_gen Jun 3rd 2008

It's a decent thing they're doing. And I imagine there will be someone trying to sneak in with a camera phone or camera. It's just something low that slimy people love to do.

Posted by jedi_anegram Jun 3rd 2008

I think there is a big difference between a funeral for a Royal than for an actor. I agree that the British reporters tend to be a little more respectful during funerals than the American papparazzi. I hadn't seen this actor before, and he looks like he was a really sweet caring person. It's such a tragedy, but he was defending his brother, which shows he was a caring individual.

Posted by hermyweasley105150 Jun 3rd 2008

God speed to his family their in my prayers I hope the people who did this will pay!!!!!!!!! He had such potentional he was really gonna go places. R.I.P. Rob Knox

Posted by alexxx Jun 3rd 2008

well rest in peace, see you in heaven! and im sure that he was a great actor and i cannot wait to see him in HBP, i think all of us hp fans will be like "AW, RIP KNOX" when we see him. :\

Posted by girlpower_25 Jun 3rd 2008

R.I.P. Robert Knox I think they had already filmed his scenes so they won't cut them.

Posted by rooon Jun 3rd 2008

Awww, well......... I send my blessings.

Posted by parvezthepop Jun 4th 2008

Dan is the worst actor I had ever seen.

Posted by koolzies Jun 4th 2008

I wonder if they're going to dedicate Half-Blood Prince to him. You know, at the end of the credits have "For Robert Knox" and his date of passing.

Posted by MagicMaker222 Jun 4th 2008

SwimSwamSwum~ Where did that come from? I completely agree with HP_ROX_MY_Sox15! Why wouldn

Posted by MagicMaker222 Jun 4th 2008

she go? If she didn't I'm sure she has her reasons. I've missed family members funerals because of other things I had to do. Emma only worked with the guy some, so she is not at all in any way obligated to go. It was be a nice thing to do if she and the others went, sure. Oh and swimswamswum she's not at all stupid from my point of view. *RIP Robert Knox.* -l-

Posted by HPALI Jun 4th 2008

I agree with SwimSwamSwum.......Stupid girl indeed!!xx

Posted by laleangel Jun 4th 2008

OMG!! Some of you really should think before you type!! This is an article about a young man who died, and people who want to pay their respects to him. It is not a place for you to slag off the other actors in HP!! parvezthepop - I respect you have your own opinion, this IS NOT the place to voice it! and swimswamswun & HPALI don't assume that someone is not going and then start name calling. Its not right or very respectful!! Think Before You Type!! RIP Robert Knox, my thoughts are with your family and those in other families who have experienced loss like this.

R.I.P: Robert Knox i lost an famil member also it heppened on june 3rd in the morning

Posted by JOP_Projects Jun 5th 2008

you guys sit here and talk about how good it is that the actors are going to show up to show respect... of course they are going to show up! It was their friend a fellow actor on the set. even if it wasnt an actor and juts a crew memeber they would show up. They are friends. If you ever been in a play or something similar you would understand. Once you get connected with the film you are doing you are automatically family! There could be guards put up around the cemetary to keep people out that are not welcomed. I am pretty sure they will keep the flashing crap out of there! He is a hero! He died while trying to save his little brother. him and his friends jumped the guy with the knife and one of his friends got the knife away from him but the guy was able to get to another one that was hidden away. It was that second one that killed him. He wasnt a fighter he was a peace keeper! IT IS VERY SAD that someone so young should have to die like that! Let alone watching your brother die in front of you! I feel sorry for his little brother to have to go through that! And for his family! There should be a fund so pepole can send money to in honor of him to share awareness of the stuff that is going around over there with teenage crimes. I think he would of liked that! Please if anyone knows if there is anything getting started let me know! I do JOP Porjects on myspace and would like to help out! www. myspace.com/ jop_projects REST IN PEACE ROBERT! OUR THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS ARE WITH YOU ALWAYS!
