omg i cant wait!! 3rd =)

Posted by Tarhisie Jun 10th 2008

That's actually not as much as I thought it would go for, considering what Beedle the Bard pulled in...

Posted by Serius078 Jun 10th 2008

I actually thought it would go for more then that. Still a good amount though...

Posted by HolyHorcruxes Jun 10th 2008

Not nearly as much as BatB, but still. Holy crap. That's alotta money. I'm so glad Jo uses her talent to help others so much. She's just such an amazing person.

Posted by the_shrieking_snack Jun 10th 2008

Specter bidders now eh? Good for Jo! WOOHOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by mndhp Jun 10th 2008

I thought it was going to go for more...well, I still can't wait to read it......TOP 10!

Posted by notjustsomebooksaboutawizard Jun 10th 2008

i wish we could read it =(

Posted by Jalien Jun 10th 2008

Lol... this was just mentioned on the local news... the bidding.. and just right now they're like- ... We have no idea how much it will go for.. hahaha.. but mugglenet already knows -^^-

Posted by gryffindor_gal_714 Jun 10th 2008

i thought it would be auctioned for a lot more, for what it's worth to me. I really, really wish we could read it.

Posted by angelina_johnson92 Jun 10th 2008

Omg! That's a lot of money knowing that the person could buy the story for less than twenty dollers when the book of the stories is released. Or they could read it online. Oh well, it's a fabulous cause!

Posted by laetri Jun 10th 2008

cool

Posted by Abergoat Jun 10th 2008

Not a lot of money? For 800 words, 48k is a crapload of money.

Posted by professorlongbottom Jun 10th 2008

Are you guys going to read it when it comes online? I'm sorta nervous. I have James and Sirius set in my mind already, I don't want J.K. Rowling to mess it up. =]

Posted by Karinec Jun 10th 2008

So we will be able to read it online for free ?

Posted by ALe_Av Jun 10th 2008

of course is not gonna be as much as beedle the bard, this is only 800 words and its gonna be everywhere online. Anyway I'm so exited for tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by Madison_Wales Jun 10th 2008

Does this mean that they are going to be publishing it and the money goes to charity like it did with the Qudditch Through the Ages and Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them???? I sure hope so!!!

Posted by honeydukes0209 Jun 10th 2008

Whoo! That's great! It all goes to a very worthy cause, so that's good...I can't wait to read it, though!

Posted by rooon Jun 10th 2008

: )

Posted by soof Jun 10th 2008

Ah, I'm excited! And I think that $48,000 is ALOT considering it's only 800 words.

Posted by bongahead Jun 10th 2008

That sounds cool! And naturally it didn't get as much money as Beedle the Bard since it's only 800 words, and it's not a single copy in the world; luckily for us fans we can read it online. But that's still a lot of money! Why couldn't they do the same for Beedle the Bard too (for fans to read)? Anyway, I can't wait to read the prequel!

Posted by i_am_nagini_777 Jun 10th 2008

holy... holy... holy... holy something!

Posted by Neurons Jun 10th 2008

T_T no c'mon let us read it....

Posted by ClosetPotterFan Jun 10th 2008

I thought it would go for DOUBLE that amount at least. Isn't it a handwritten copy?!

Posted by alexxx Jun 10th 2008

well well well! thats awesome. but i mean whats it mean by GHOST BIDDER?

Posted by trueligth Jun 10th 2008

Good a history for the source. I can wait to read it and I hope is as good as the series, because James and Siruis are the best Maruders in the History of the school.

Posted by hpintwense06 Jun 10th 2008

Holy Cow! That's a lot of money for a good cause! As usual, GO JO!!!

Posted by Rose37 Jun 10th 2008

I am confused!!! How much is 25pounds in U.S. money???

Posted by MagicMaker222 Jun 11th 2008

50 thousand dollars for a page long police chase! No wonder she has more money then everyone that has ever visited this site put together!

Posted by PottyforPotter Jun 11th 2008

MagicMaker222: The money from the auction of this 800 word prequel goes to charity; not Jo's pocket. Jo usually does this sort of thing for charity anyway. I am so glad that it got auctioned off for 25,000 pounds! Actually, I really expected it to go for alot more, but seeing that it's only a page-long, 800 word piece of text, coupled with the fact that you can read it for free online, or buy it for like, 1/5000 the price outside, this auction was definitely something to be proud of.

First of all I am very very dissapointed of how you treat your fans by putting their letters that they spent time on into the Wall of Shame! I am taking Muggle Net off of my favorite list. If I could I would go to the President and ask him to take Muggle Net off the net! I am so so so dissapointed this site is a ripoff! People who run this site aparently don't like getting sincere letters from their veiwers, if you want more viewers I would take the Wall of Shame down or you will keep losing veiwers. You don't care anything about your viewers, do you? Everything on your home page is old news, everyone already heard it and came to Muggle Net to find out new things and all they find is old news. The Wall of Shame is very imitating to me it makes me want to PUKE! If I see this letter in the Wall of Shame I will NEVER EVER come back to Muggle Net again, wait a second I don't want to come back. Here lets tell a little story," I am so happy with muggle net NOT NOT smells like SNOT!" I am very dissapointed in you Muggle Net this used to be my favourite site but not anymore! You should put this on your home page I think your viewers would enjoy it!!!!! :)
