crap... as much as i love JKR, i really want douglas adams to win. JKR hasn't really had a lifetime of achievements yet. as amazing as harry potter is, she hasn't really written anything else. i feel like the other authors had long, varied careers, whereas JKR's career is just beginning. i think she deserves the award... just not right now.

Considering that Emma can't act, I will have to kill someone if she wins over Helena Bonham Carter. Seriously. It is, like someone above me said, a popularity contest. And exactly, what about Rupert? He is far more talented than the other two, and quite frankly if I was him I'd be getting pretty pissed off at being constantly overlooked. Basically, if Emma wins, I will despair forever more.

Dan deserves a nomination - he's a good actor and so does JKR of course. OOTP, meh but I can handle it but I have to agree with everyone, Emma Watson should not get nominated - and I don't think she stands a chance with Helena. She just can't act! But of course EVERYONE knows my stance on this xD If you ask me, she's alot like those Disney stars - pretty and her biggest fanbase is a bunch of silly tweens who don't know any better. I give Rupes credit for all he's been through. And Emma_Granger, everyone has their fans and everyone has their fans, so maybe you could star accepting that alot of people who have actually good tastes in movies and actors don't like her at all. can anyone explain to me why when Emma Watson comes up, people lose their ability to respect one another's opinions? the fans who hate her and think she's a terrible actress are often just as intolerant and immature sounding as the ones who defend her to the death. have a little dignity people, she's just a teenage girl, not a war criminal OR the second coming.

Ummm....not an anti-Emma fan, I actually do like her, but why does she keep getting nominated for "Best Actress" in the HP movies? She has less lines and screen time, especially in the later movies, than Dumbledore. Perhaps "Supporting Actress" but if they give her that honor then why can't Rupert get that acknowledgement either? :( Unfair. Just a popularity contest like some others have stated.

Usually in the movies, well most movies I've ever seen anyway, they take the leading male role and the leading female role and those are the two that get nominated for the awards and things like that. In the HP films the leads go to Dan and Emma,so ofcourse they are going to get nominated. I'm not going to say that Emma is a bad actress because I couldn't imagine her character being played by anyone else. I think she does a good job playing the part and she goes well with Dan and Rupert . Helena is a good actress too but she not the leading lady in the movie so she should be acknowledged as "best supporting actress" at best. I think the same should go for the actresses that play Luna McGonagall Trelawney and Ginny. I think all of them play their part very well!
