Yes, the other day we did tell you that a few of those who work at movie theaters heard about the Half-Blood Prince teaser trailer premiering with The Dark Knight.
Now though, we're hearing a new teaser trailer rumor. Two people within movie theaters have heard stories about the trailer coming with The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor on August 1st.
According to MuggleNet reader Kathleen, Universal pushed to have the Half-Blood Prince teaser trailer in front of Mummy to give a little boost to ticket sales. The teaser poster will be coming a week afterward. MuggleNet reader Michele tells us that her manager spoke with Warner Brothers, who told them that the trailer is to run in front of Mummy and not The Dark Knight.
Again, keep this in the rumor category for now. All of these Half-Blood Prince pictures lately is certainly a good sign of bigger things to come. As always, we'll keep you updated!

It *could* be with both movies. It could debut with Dark Knight and then show with the Mummy as well. Maybe thats too optimistic, but there are instances (rare or not) where the same trailer is in multiple movies. ...or maybe Im in just denial because Im really banking on it being with Dark Knight!

Makes absolutely no sense to put it with a competitors movie! WB would not do that. They know a lot of HP fans will go to see Dark Knight because they got the extra push of the teaser trailer. I was only thinking of going to see it, but I want to now that I think HBP will be in it. this is getting ridiculous, were all going on this huge rollercoaster ride. first, i wrote in my calendar that hbp came out on the 21st Nov then i had to move it back to the 27th and now i have to move it to dec 11th! Then i wrote a countdown for TDK and now the teasers not even with it!

So I work for a movie theater company and we have an employee news letter . While searching the news letter I found the teaser poster for HBP its really small though it shows harry and dumbledors silhouettes in a cave. It is advertising for the IMAX movie. I will try to send it in but im trying to do so without giving out the website. As it is only for employees i cant give out the site to everyone!!!! :( So as soon as I can send it to someone that works here without reveling the site everyone will be able to see it.

If true, I dont understand the reasoning behind it. I could see the trailer being in front of both the dark knight and the mummy, but not just the mummy. If the HP moviemakers have a choice, they would definately want it in front of the dark knight, because that should make more in the box office than the mummy. Even though the HBP trailer really SHOULD be released with The Dark Knight, it actually does make sense that Universal would want it in front of The Mummy 3. They know their movie is, lets say, below the quality of The Dark Knight and Harry Potter but Universal has the connection with the Harry Potter theme park. It is, sadly, all about the money.
I just dont understand why Warner Brothers would avoid releasing it with The Dark Knight, which will probably all ready beat Titanic in the box office-if they know everyone is going to see this movie, why would they avoid showing off Harry Potter, assuming the trailer is really amazing considering weve waited all this time?
I think Warner Brothers would want more people to see one of their movies than help out another studio. So thats why I think we will be seeing the HBP trailer with The Dark Knight.

I saw the trailer for The Mummy 3 in theaters, and the interesting thing was it had the same music that the OOTP trailer had... Yeah, the OOTP trailer music and Mummy 3 trailer music is the same. Go on YouTube and search Order of the Phoenix Theatrical Trailer, youll find it. Then watch the Mummy one. When I saw the Mummy trailer, I knew I recognized the music, then I realized it was used in the OOTP trailer last year.

OK, I am so tired of all this nonsense. I actually build the movie prints every week at my movie theatre. All of the trailors are either shipped in the can or attatched to the movie. And seeing that HBP is a huge release, it will be attached to whichever print it is going to be released on. I am not sure of the validity of someones manager talking to WB. But with my experience I will say that it didnt happen. Now, the people that work at the movie theatres have no idea what trailors are going to be on which movie until the wendsday before the release of the film. So I totally agree that this should be thrown into the rumor bin. I personally think that the teaser will be released with The Dark Knight. It is a huge release, so it will attract the most attention to the Trailor.

From what I have read in the comments of people who claim to work in the movie theatres the trailer is set to be released with an IMAX movie and I dont believe The Mummy is being released in IMAX and Dark Knight is. I would not worry too much for the trailer is set to be released in IMAX theatres which will be the coolest thing which hopefully will make it worth the wait.

I work at a movie theater as well and I have heard significant rumors of the teaser trailer debuting on Dark Knight. First of all Warner Bros is very picky with their trailers, and it is most likely that they will want a WB trailer on a WB movie...a popular one at that. Also, we are long overdue for the trailer. We should know for sure at my theater by the 14th as that is when we get the official trailer list. Right now I still strongly believe it will be attached to Dark Knight.

LunaIsOurQueen, the difference between a teaser trailer and a real trailer is:
teaser trailer: the useless little random clips of the film usually about a minute or so long and give you no information as to the content of the movie whatsoever. these are the ones people usually spend their time getting their food in so they can be in the cinema in time for the actual movie.
real trailer: the ones which actually show what the movie is about, like the longer ones you see on tv. these also go for longer than teaser trailers, which are only made to "tease" us with it.

if it didnt just go to youtube and search for the teaser trailer of a movie thats already out and then search the trailer of it, that should help :)

Well, Ive seen The Mummy 1 and The Mummy 2, and frankly thats four hours of my life that I want back. I hate The Mummy with a passion, and there is no one and nothing in this world that can force me to go see The Mummy 3. I dont care if the sixth trailer is amazing, Ill settle for watching it on the computer. I really hope the trailer is with The Dark Knight. Tonight I went to the library to check out the mummy movies and guess what, because of the upcoming mummy movie, the other mummy movies are checked out!!!
