I agree. The helmet and the other padding that Ron is wearing just looks awful. I dont think they even wore any type of padding in the books, did they? Also, where is Mugglecast???!

Chommy - I love his sweater! I want one! And as far as Rons helmet goes, I would bet that its supposed to be a joke. Its too ridiculous looking to be serious. I like it, though. It makes me laugh. :) Im happy were finally getting all these pics though. It makes me more patient for the trailer. And that picture of Luna is lovely!

I love the pictures!! Yes, I prefer the old Quidditch uniforms, but the new ones arent TOO bad. Luna is awesome! Slughorn is adorable! Personally, I dont care if the actors dont look EXACTLY like the characters, as long as they can pull the character itself off. I have no doubt in my mind that Jim Broadbent can.!

Yo! Dont diss Rons new helmet! The ootp sneak peaks of hbp said that the helmets are only worn for practice. He wont actually be wearing it for the games. As for Slughorn, I think the role was a good choice.

Guys, chill out on the helmet! I guarantee you its there to add a bit of comic relief...probably adds a lot to Rons character and the fact that when it comes to Quidditch hes pretty much a bumbling idiot.
Im more disappointed that Slughorn isnt morbidly obese w/ a thick mustache...I thought that defined his character.

I think every thing looks great so far, I can picture some the movie scenes already. The movie is BASED on the book, so everything is not going to be identical to the book and people should be open minded till they see the movie.

I doubt very highly these are the uniforms for the Quidditch team. The image shows far too many people for a team. This is probably a shot for the tryouts--remember all the students that showed up for the tryouts. Also, I think they showed glimpses of the new uniforms on the Phoenix dvd special and I dont remember them looking like these.

Anyway, what I wanted to say is that Im still waiting for the trailer. Hopefully these pics mean its on its way. Why are we still in the dark?
Half of these pics arent new, anyway. The WB could have at least given us new pics.
And wheres Snape? This movie is called Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, you know. I feel like theyre going to completely undermine his character, just like they always do in the films.
Overall, Im disappointed.

that picture of slughorn looks nothing like jim broadbent. i guess its because you cant see how long his nose actually is.
i have hated the quidditch outfits from the start. Theyre supposed to look hot when they play quidditch not like theyre going off to be in some war. And what was with that Jany lady saying that they should have padding because theyre getting older and its going to be rougher? The teams made up of players of different ages. And is Dean in Quidditch robes? Because he cant be if Ginny and Harry are playing too. All the red and yellow sleeves are confusing me and hurting my eyes. And that girl next to Bonnie looks like my Demelza.. got to go check who she is.

OMGG GUYS U HAVE TO THINK OF THIS: maybe in the slughorn auditions THIS GUY was the best he looked the best of all and he ACTED the best MAYBE slughorn doesnt look EXACTLY like he is described but neither is harry i mean harry has green eyes and in the movie he has grey STOP COMPLAING JEEZ! Is it me or is the photo where Harry is deep in thought in the castles toilet room? Isnt that how the old medieval toilets used to be set up? Just a hole in cement and then it fell down a tower and outside where it was shoveled up by a clean up crew? Thats what it looks like to me. I hope not, though.

I honestly felt like I was going to explode. WHAT HAPPENED TO DRACOS HAIR?!?! Im honestly not happy, it looks terrible. *sigh* depressing. Slughorn isnt fat enough, but hes not too bad. That picture of Luna made me nearly wet myself. Typical Luna. Why do I also feel that the helmet and extra padding isnt actually part of Rons uniform? LMAO! Silly Weasley. The pictures are otherwise great. I feel that the movie wont be very canon, though. Just from the pictures themselves. I hope we wont have a repeat of Goblet of Fire. Anyway, cant wait for the trailer!

NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! Please, please, dont tell me they went with the training helmets for Quidditch?! NO! This is stupid - Quidditch is supposed to be a dangerous sport, where people get hurt and fatally injured frequently when playing! If they can be forced to play in a thunderstorm where hardly anyone can see anything, what makes you think theyll make them play in helmets? This is downright ridiculous. And guess what? They havent even cast Scrimgeour or Marvolo Gaunt or Morfin Gaunt or anything!! It seems as if theyll be focusing on the romance and the trivial stuff more than the fact that the wizarding world is becoming a war-zone and on the more important battle between Voldemort and Harry.

Is the movie really ruined because Ron is wearing a helmet? Is the movie really ruined because Slughorn doesnt look exactly as you pictured him? Is the movie really ruined because Emma colored her hair a little bit? NO!!!!!!!
The movies are BASED on the books. They are NOT the books on screen. HBP never really translated to the screen too well (at least in my mind) and the moviemakers are trying to make the best movie possible, which would mean tweaking some SMALL details to provide more comedy or action or that sort of thing.
The only way the movies can DESTROY the books is if they do something completely dumb, like having Flitwick kill Dumbledore instead of Snape.

I dont see why everyone is kicking up such a fuss, just because Ron got a funny hat on or what have you... honestly how much screen time do you think Rons hat is going to get? And I presonally love Slughorn. I think hes awesome. even though he might not have a moustache or hes not dangerously overweight. They probably couldnt find many overweight actors who could fill up a room, like hes described like in the book. PottyforPotter I agree with you as well as you HPSidekick4..
However, I must put my two thoughts in here.
1. Even if as you say THe movies are BASED on the books they can still keep it real to the books. How can they leave out such important parts ie: the trips into the memories? They help understand and set the stage for DH. And I will never forgive WB for leaving out Bill Weasley so far.
In the first movies they stuck pretty well with books the furthur along they got in the books the furthur they seem to go from the books.
I fell in love with Harry Potter thru the books and yes some of the movies have been really good. I guess WE ALL including me have to look at it as the books are one and the movies are another. cause there are some people out there who have never even read the books and so the movies all make sense to them. Sorry but its how I feel. Maybe Im wrong?

I was kind of frightened when the costume designer said she was using aspects of American football for the Quidditch uniforms, but I didnt think they would be this bad!!! The uniforms are just supposed to be different colored robes, not full out padding! Oh well, I really need to stop getting worked up about these things, youd think after five movies Id realize that theyre never going to be good...Anyone have any ideas about the McGonogall picture?

I had already found these pictures like two days ago on imdb. But anyways, I like all of them! Unlike like a lot of people, im open to change, and when something in the movie is diffrent from the book it doesnt really bother me, because I know that they cant make it exactly like the book. If you watch a movie without any expectations and are open to change, I can garuntee you that youll like the movie so much better!

hey everybody......just wanted you all to know that the latest edition of Movie Magic is out and has our wonderful trio on the front cover. Has quite an article on the costume designer and everything else were all drooling for!!!! The costume designer did explain that the helmets are just for practice and the padding is new because "16 & 17 year olds like to take more risks. i also wanted to say that it looks like rons dad is getting attacked in the movie by fenrir and not bill. at least thats what the "movie magic" magazine had to say about fenrir. Im not sure who is mistaken....maybe theyll change that in the movie too...or the mag has gotten that wrong.
someone here also mentioned about the things they changed from the book to the movie. A few of the things that was changed in the movies are the moving staircases, the dragon escaping from the 1st task ( & the pursuit that followed) and probably a few others that have escaped me for now. Those i did enjoy.
so Im hoping that something that has been added will be for the good tho who knows!

Im really glad all these pictures (that arent the size of postage stamps) are coming out in big batches! I really like the one of Draco and the one of Luna. However, I find the new Quidditch uniforms highly unsettling and Slughorn looks OK but not how I pictured him.

Great Photos.
Harry and Mcgonagall one has to be in Dumbledores office after the funeral. Notice Mcgonagall is all in black.
The Draco one I think is the scene where Harry finds him crying in Moaning Myrtles Bathroom. Tom Felton is totally hot but hes getting to old to pull off playing a teenager. You can really tell that hes older then the rest of the cast.
Luve Luna. Those glasses are a riot.
Ron at Quidditch tryouts. He looks like hes going to puke! you can really tell how grown up they all are getting.
Slughorn is not fat enough. I always pictured him as being morbidly obese. hes skinnier then Vernon in this pic.
Someone please explain to me why Ron is wearing the helmet in the Great Hall? he looks like an idiot.

OMG I love all the photos so far. Ok so what if they didnt get Slughorn exactly how he is physically described in the books. They didnt do that with Umbridge. Everyone was complaining about how Imaulda wasnt short and fat enough but yet she was able to do the character justice. Jim Broadbent is an amazing actor so despite not looking the part Im sure that he will give Slughorn justice in his acting. Plus I love the look they gave him. The mortar board was a really nice touch. And Luna is amazing with her shades. Love em!!!!
