Voldemort #1 movie villain of all time
Voldemort #1 movie villain of all time AOL Moviefone has released their list of the top 25 movie villains of all time. Lord Voldemort, played by Ralph Fiennes, came in top of the list with the following description:

"He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named is the most powerful dark wizard to ever wave a wand, and he schemes to enslave the whole Muggle world. His slithering presence has been minimal in the films so far, but we've all read the books, so we know how much more evil he'll become."

Ok: First to darkhorse07 I don't know why you corrected me b/c I am correct. Second: http://shopping.aol.com/b ooks?ncid=AOLCOMMshopDYNL sec0001&icid=100214839x12 05150045x1200258744

I'm glad Voldy made number one villian. He is definately evil. he tried to kill a baby. And we know that is very evil minded. Also, he showed no remorse for what he did. As for Umbridge, even being on the list, no, Umbridge was nasty for the way she treated Harry, but she was also funny in trying to run Hogwarts.

Posted by cherubicterror Jul 11th 2008

voldie made number 1? thats a suprise. but toally cool too

Posted by Rose37 Jul 11th 2008

OK, I just tried The_Green_Nargule link and I did receive one response of the book in titled books to read before you die, but when wanting to learn more of that book, the details gave me nothing!!! What is going on here???

Posted by the_shrieking_snack Jul 11th 2008

Yeah, Voldy totally wins. You have to "kill" him seven times before you can actually KILL him! The end. Goodbye.

Posted by The_Green_Nargule Jul 11th 2008

Rose37: I'm not sure just try reloading the page? I'm not really sure, what you mean, but that's my only guess.. Sorry.

Posted by Rose37 Jul 11th 2008

The_Green_Nargule, I wanted to thank you! I tried reloading and I finally found the list of books to read before you die and sofar of the list, I have read four of the ten books. Now I just have 6 more books to go before I die, which shouldn't be that hard to get done, right, wrong!!! The other books on the list, I have no interest in reading and that to me is bad!!!

Posted by merrymarge Jul 11th 2008

I don't know who decides which books you are to read before you die, but if you are a young person and in good health, why worry about it? Just pick out the books that you really enjoy to read and stick with that. Same with the list of places to visit before you die. All these lists are subjective. What one person likes, someone else might not.

"Voldemort #1 movie villain of all time" Not even close. Jo's books are fantastic and I've reread them a number of times. Each reread convinces me more and more of what a genius she is and what a fantastic achievement writing this series was. But Voldy doesn't compare with many of the other movie villains.

Posted by darkhorse07 Jul 12th 2008

Sorry Green Nargule, I guess I just found a different list. I wasn't trying to make you look bad or anything, thanks for putting up your link, it worked for me too.

Posted by merry_sa Jul 12th 2008

Voldemort was NOT scary in the movies! Come on, he was wearing a SUIT in OOTP! he would've been scarier if he had the red eyes and high creepy voice!

Posted by Phoenix__Song Jul 12th 2008

I like how the thumbnail picture that goes along with this article isn't Voldemort but more ironically - Dumbledore lol

Posted by Rose37 Jul 12th 2008

Great point merrymarge, but the only problem is that I have tried to read other books and failed. It seems like I am doom for the rest of my life with only being able to read the hp series. The only reason why I am able to read the lord of the rings series, is because one: I push myself to read the books. I hate reading that series and the movies sofar(Just finish reading fallowshilp of the ring) are way better then the books themsevles. Sorry to say but true!!! Than the other reason for reading the lord of the rings book is to be able to going to the monthly book club that I am a part of. If you don't do your reading homework by the time the next meeting comes, you can't be able to go to the meeting!!! While you can go to the meeting even if you don't finish reading what was sent out for homework, but the leader of the group wants you to include yourself into the meeting and that doesn't mean just yelling and scearming about anything. That meaning excelly saying something containing in the book!!! Now can you see my problem??? Can anyone help me out here please??? What are good and long books to read???

Freaking RIGHT! GO VOLDEMORT! Even though Ihateyou. :)

Posted by tbc07 Jul 12th 2008

The Green Nargule: I also used the link and found out the you were incorrect: Lord of the Rings was listed as number 3 and HP as number 4....i used this link: http://shopping.aol.com/a rticles/2008/07/08/10-boo ks-to-read-before-you-die / Maybe you had a different link, but it's on aol, so...

Voldemort was a great choice for the number 1 spot. Sorry vader pushers, but voldemort is wayyyyyyyyy more evil than vader could ever be since vader can feel love and all voldie feels it hate. Although I have to say in my personal list of villians, I would have to put WB at the top for being so f&*$ing lame about not giving us any type of trailer for the 6th movie. True evil in its purest form.

Posted by the_shrieking_snack Jul 12th 2008

lol mallo7440! So true!

Posted by Rose37 Jul 12th 2008

HARRY POTTER IS NOT LAME, JUST LATE WHEN IT COMES TO RELEASES OF IMPORTANT INFO, PICS OR TRAILERS ABOUT THE MOVIES/BOOKS!!! BE PATIENT!!!

Posted by SnapeKillsDumbledore Jul 12th 2008

Sorry, but Vader is WAY more of a villain than Voldemort. C'mon!!! Vader's a classic!

Posted by xoxoshannonxoxo Jul 12th 2008

Don't get me wrong, I looooove Voldy as a villian, but I've been a Star Wars fan alot longer than Harry Potter, and Star Wars was around way before Harry Potter too. I think Darth Vader should be #1 and Voldy 2nd. Voldy is just SO much more recognizable than Voldy! EVERYBODY knows who Darth Vader is just from the mechanical breathing and suit and helmet. I think he's just a bit more......classic, don't you think??

Posted by xoxoshannonxoxo Jul 12th 2008

Sorry when I said 'Voldy is more recognizable than Voldy' I meant 'Vader is more recognizable than Voldy'...hehe. Oh, and SnapeKillsDumbledore, I agree with you!!!!! :-)

Posted by jphobbit Jul 12th 2008

I don't think they said that, Moviefone ranked the top harry potter villains here http://movies.aol .com/movie-photo/harry-po tter-villains-voldemort-m alfoy but you should post a link of the top 25 villains... If they ranked Voldemort the top movie villain of all time their just stupid. Sauron would obviously be the top villain hands down

Posted by youngregulus Jul 12th 2008

Well, if he was determined to be evil, at least he did a good job about it.

I love this: 'His slithering presence has been minimal in the films so far, but we've all read the books, so we know how much more evil he'll become.' Yes, but this is judging by the MOVIES, not the BOOKS.

Posted by mugglehp Jul 13th 2008

In both the movies and the books; although I think we NEED to see more of him in the movies, Voldemort is amazing :) One of my favorite characters. Rock on Voldie :) Love Natasha xxx

Posted by marauder_number_five Jul 13th 2008

Darth Vader is #1. With an awesome theme song (The Imperial March), the black armor, and JAMES EARL JONES (awesome!) doing his voice, Voldemort doesn't stand a chance. He's a great book villain, but not a very good movie villain. Nothing against Ralph Fiennes, but Darth's gotta win.

Posted by draco_luvs_harry Jul 14th 2008

He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named is the most powerful dark wizard to ever wave a wand, and he schemes to enslave the whole Muggle world. His slithering presence has been minimal in the films so far, but we've all read the books, so we know how much more evil he'll become it soooooooooooooooooo tru!

Posted by harrypotteraddict Jul 14th 2008

I never thought I'd live to see the day I became a Voldie fangirl.

Posted by Daymoon Jul 14th 2008

So how much blackmail did it take to force everyone to vote for this thing?

Posted by TheDarkLord314 Jul 16th 2008

his is kinda off topic and random and it might be old news, but isn't kinda weird that Ginny looks like Lily in a way and thats why JKR might of pick Ginny to be Harry's wife since he looks like James also harry might of fell for Ginny because she reminded him of his mother in a way. THIS IS REALLY RANDOM BUT I NEED 2 GET IT OUT OF MY HEAD. b/c i notice when they were in the dept of mystery in the 5th movie and after Ginny used reducto on that death eater theres a shot of Ginny and Harry close together and they look like Lily and James.

Posted by fireheart911 Jul 16th 2008

Go Voldemort!!!!!!!!!!!! Think of all the people he has killed and tortured. Including the ones his followers killed and tortured because he is responsible for them. He has no heart and he is just evil. Half of you people don't know what your talking about "Darth Vader, Hannibal Lecter, The Joker". I admit, Voldemort isnt that scary as in jump out of your seat like the others, but notice how it says #1 Villian, not Scariest Villian. And i know that is says movie, but even in the fifth movie he has killed a ton of people in the past. Plus he is willing to kill anyone, even his followers to get what he wants, go Voldie!!!(Oh, and no offence to anyone, I am a really big Harry Potter fan so of course I am always going to take That side, Juss wanted to let everyone know so that there are no hard feelings.

Posted by Daymoon Jul 16th 2008

No, Voldemort is NOT the best villain. Merely torturing and killing doesn't make one a "good" villain. There's a reason why Vader is better, and it's because he actually gives you chills when he appears on screen. Just as brutal, but a lot more subtle.

Posted by jessiewarner Jul 18th 2008

duh, no one can b as evil.
