Back in late June, we broke news of a "teaser trailer" coming with The Dark Knight in IMAX on July 18th. Last week, we learned that this teaser trailer is actually a 15-second preview.
A MuggleNet reader who works at an IMAX theater has provided us with a description of the trailer, as well as the one line of dialogue in it. We understand that some people may want to be surprised, so highlight in between the arrows below if you'd like to read it before Friday!
--> A black screen with Dumbledore saying "Once again I must ask you to do the impossible, Harry." After that, the title is displayed as well as the release date.<--

WTF, I most definetly agree with all you people above. I mean cmon fifteen seconds. Yes, its something, but its a disappointing piece of crap. Why cant they just give us the trailer. We usually have the teaser trailer by now with the universal trailer only two months or more before the movie comes out. Jeez, Warner Bros. I really hope that Yates doesnt screw this movie up.

Well, since theres no teaser trailer, theyre probably just saying, "Hey everyone! Guess what! Were making a movie!" But anyway. About Arthur being attacked and not Bill. This is making me nervous- very, very nervous- about the wedding. How is it possible that theyre going to do it? Yet, how can they cut it? Its so important! Its a fun scene, plus Harry wouldnt have stayed at the Burrow as long if it werent for the wedding, and it sets them up to go to Shell Cottage, AND he learns a lot about Dumbledore. If they cut it, I hope the rumors of it being replaced by Tonks and Lupins wedding (and of those two then becoming the owners of Shell Cottage) are true. But how would Teddy being born fit in if they were staying at Shell Cottage when Teddy was born, like in the book, and Tonks and Lupin were the owners? They wouldnt want Harry to actually have to be there when Teddy was born. That would be totally not with the theme of the book. My guess is that Teddy would already be born when they arrived there, or else we just dont get to see Teddy at all (just a pregnant Tonks), or Teddy doesnt exist. One of the three.

Oh, in response to what people are saying- this doesnt neccessarily mean we dont get a real teaser trailer. This could be in addition, or a sign that they are ready to start promotions and give us a teaser trailer. Its a definite start. Oh- and by the way, now that we know Andrews up and on the Internet, why isnt Stephenie Meyers 3rd Quote of The Day from Breaking Dawn on Twilight Source yet? From a publicity point of view, this is an AMAZING move.
This would make me want to see the film more than a few very quick cutty clips (which is what most teasers are like). Then we have the full trailer in about a month.

Knowing what the line is now, knowing also how more dark and more scaryer the movie and the area around the viewers are going to get and know how busy this weekend at the movies are going to be, for right now, I know for a fact I will not be seeing the Dark Knight movie in imax, but only in the regular movie theather. Also the other day, when I was at the movie theather, all of the pictures of faces was covered in glasses and werid sayings from the Dark Knight movie. I think the theathers or atleast the theather near where I live is getting ready for the release of the Dark Knight movie, with out a dought!!!

About the teaser trailer, at least its something, and being a teaser trailer it would never be much mora than that. The ridiculous part has to do with Mr Weasley getting mauled. I mean, as someone already pointed out, from the 3rd movie on they have been messing everything up. OOTP was a complete mess, they invested more in the graphics than in the plot itself. So, I wouldnt put it past WB to start the 7th movie with the Trio already on the run, maybe at Sirius house or something, and we only know about the wedding through their conversation, when Harry would say something like "Remember at Bills wedding when Xeno Lovegood told ...". I have been disapointed once and again since PoA, so...

You know, I think WB is full of crap for this. They really are...I dont know what their problems is this time around with HP...
I dont mean to start any fandom wars here, but Ill just say...I think a certain other film based on a book with a huge following is going to squash HBP in the box office if WB doesnt get their act together...Im a fan of both series, and I can honestly say Im looking forward to this other film much more than I am to HBP.
Im afraid that WB is going to wait until the absolute LAST minute to start putting the public on HP overload, instead of steadily building up the buzz like this other film is doing. Granted, HP has been out longer and has a bigger fandom, but for those who are not exactly fans of the series and just go to see the movies, WB is shooting themselves in the foot with their retarded antics. I think theyre risking the chance for a lot of people to be like "Whats this nonsense? More Harry? I thought it was over? Now all of a sudden its back...Forget this. Im going to see ________ instead."
I do hope Im wrong. Perhaps things will change when it gets closer to the release. But as a fan, I am just not at all happy with WB. (Im not even going to comment on the Mr. Weasly thing...itll just make me more upset that I already am. Again...this other film is staying MUCH more true to the books. Why do HP films always manage to screw something up? Its ridiculous.)

Wow, people are overreacting a lot. WB did warn us that this was just a 15-second preview...you can hardly fit any action sequence into 15 seconds, so they just promoted the movie with the name--it gets people thinking about it. And as for replacing Bills attack with Mr. Weasley...I dont think itll be too bad. I mean, I really wanted to see Bill and Fleur cause that wouldve been hilarious, but we have to remember that EVERYTHING THEY PUT INTO OR TAKE OUT OF THE MOVIE IS OKD WITH JK ROWLING FIRST. Thats why they fit Kreacher into OOTP. Thats why Alfonso Cuaron wasnt allowed to have a graveyard in the Hogwarts grounds or to have "little people" dancing around Hogwarts everywhere. So I really dont think replacing Bill and Fleurs wedding with Lupin and Tonkss would be too detrimental to the plot of the film, and theyll probably be the owners of Shell Cottage instead of Bill and Fleur. As for Mrs. Weasley having to cook raw meat from now on...I cant see that being too much of a problem for her, because her husband isnt DEAD.

No, the Twilight movie wont do the book justice but it will be better than the book itself because the book is not that good. I know, I just finished it and it doesnt live up to the hype at all. It just drags on forever with no vampire action at all. In the movie however, from the clips Ive seen so far, we actually get to see Edward bite someone. In the book that stupid idiot whiner called Bella faints and misses the whole thing. And Im hoping they skip all the listening to each others heartbeats crap!

I have noticed that some of you are talking about the twight series. Right now I am part of a book club near where I live and we were to continue to read the lord of the rings series for awhile, but because of the twight number four book coming out at the end of this year, the group decide to change the book reading to the twight series. Now could anyone please explain what is so big about the series. From the summary that I have read for the twight series(a vanpire and something else are in love with eachother), I know I wont like reading the books, but in order for me to go to the meetings I will have to read the books. Also because of the four book coming out this year, the other three books are most likely sold out or there are tons of waiting list. So where would I get my hands on the first twight???

Okay, sorry to all those people who are reprimanding us "whiny-types." Yeah, OK, so maybe were overreacting just a little bit, but....GIVE US A BREAK! Were cranky HP fans who just want some sort of sign that this movie is really out there! Sure, we maybe acting a little childish, but people WHAT THE HECK WAS HARRY THROUGHOUT ALL OF OOTP, HUH?? Its just, maybe I should speak for myself, but I think most of us just want a trailer, because, well, because this series is so freakin important to us. About the trailer- I lold. But you cant really fit much into a 15 second trailer anyway unless you just quickly flash tons of scenes together. But that wouldnt make sense for promoting purposes unless it was an actual trailer.
About Arthur Weasley and the Fleur thing- Honestly, I think what theyre doing is a great idea. Yeah, Im somewhat disappointed that they arent making it Bill and Fleur but you have to remember that the movie goers dont know who the hell Bill is! And they barely know who Fleur is. Theyll just just be like "wait... I think that chick looks familiar." So it makes more sense to the condensed movies to have it be characters people are already familiar with, or else those scenes wouldnt have so much of an emotional effect on the movie goers because they arent attached to those characters. Also, if they were to keep the Bill and Fleur thing, they would have to spend time in the movie trying to explain who these people are when they could be using that time for more important scenes. It just makes more sense for movie purposes and for the movie goers to make it Arthur Weasley being attacked and Lupin and Tonkss wedding for DH. To be honet, Im glad that theyre most likely going to have it be Tonks and Lupins wedding because itll give them more screen time in DH and make the movie goers more connected to them before they bite the dust. And dont worry about all the little loop holes this creates because WB will find a way to make it work since JKR is working with them and approving it all. You have to remember, JKR is the one giving the green light.

To anyone complaining about Arthur getting attacked here is some common sense for you: Bill has been cut, and for good reason. Introducing him this late is pointless. Plus, having him get attacked wouldnt carry as much weight due to the fact that he was introduced so late in the game, and the average movie goer who hasnt read the books would think he was put in the movie to just get attacked and add to the on screen carnage. Truth be told, I never cared one bit about Bill getting attacked. Yeah, he is Rons brother, but who cares in the larger skeam of things. It didnt effect Harrys journey in the slightest, and Harrys journey is the most important part. That being said, at least by it being Rons dad I will care a little more, because Arthur is just as much a role model for Harry as he is for Ron. So this allows it to be a bigger impact on Harry, and makes it relevant to the story. Whereas with Bill it was sorta just a oh yeah here is some more carnage Bill got attacked. I am glad that they made it Arthur who gets attacked, because him I do care about.

The built up tragedy over all the different problems in the Weasleys family (Georges ear being sliced off, Fred dying, Percy ignoring his family for such a prolonged period, and Bills being mauled) really affected Mr. and Mrs. Weasley a great deal and in a deep way. And if you really care about Mr. Weasley so much, you would care that he would care about Bill. I dunno really, Im just one of those people who really just wishes that stuff like this would just plain follow the books. Maybe its just the inner over-obsessive fan in me, but yeah.

Just to everyone who is explaining the whole "Mr. Weasley being mauled" and all that by saying stuff like it makes sense for the "average moviegoer who hasnt read the books." I understand the concern of time, and I know what Im arguing is unreasonable, but.. And, from what I can see, I just..I dont understand the money thing. Okay, you want as many people as you want to see the movie. And lets face it, our world is a money obsessed world. But, I just think its...UNFAIR. I mean, all those people who havent read the books? Honestly? I dont see why the movie should be changed for THEM, when its WE OBSESSIVE FANS who really, well, care. Ok, so the other people will have a few minutes of confusion during the movie. But, ok. In the end, they really dont care as much about HP. And then take someone like me. Stuff like this? Well, IT MATTERS TO ME. Yes, Im nitpicky about my details. But, it matters to me. Why don`t we just look on the bright side of things. This line will definitely be in the movie. (hopefully) This is intriguing! It makes us even more trailer hungry than we already are. Thats good then. And when we finally see the real (and two minutes+ long, hopefully) trailer, we will all be happy. :) As for Arthur getting attacked, I see no problem with it. Its just a change in character, thats all. People say that Mr. Weasley has "already suffered enough", but thats better IMO. The audience will feel for him, and care more about him, because weve known him longer.

(not that they would show them in the film anyway, but it atill feels that way...). Umm one thing Ive noticed is that no one seems to be blaming the screen play writer. MR STEVE KNOWLS who wrote the script for the movie. Yates didnt write it down he just shoots it. However I would think that Jo who put so much effort and love into her books would have put her foot down on some of this. But alas no. I mean for example:
1) Dobby is the one who gave the gilly weed not Neville
2) Dobby is the one who tells of the Room of requirments not Neville.
3) They didnt put the sneak thief Mundungus in the movies so how is
Aberforth going to get the mirror that helps save them?
4) How all of a sudden is Dobby going to be important enough to get his
grave dug by Harry. (and so help me if they cutt that scene there will
be hell to pay!)
5) How will they meet Lovegood and see him and Krum arguing?
Sorry to take up so much space but I am so mad at The hole movies of Harry Potter. Im sorry but they have just one too far.

They really havent shown in the movies just how important the Weasly family is to Harry or really just how Harrys own family just really hates him.. How are they going to show Dudley changing towards harry. They just didnt play up how much Sirius meant to Harry, Nor am I happy about in POA when Lupin said "I reconized you not by your looks but by your eyes you have Lillys eyes" if Lupin and James were best friends wouldnt it have been he saw his father.
AND.. God help me for saying this but that greasy haired Teacher Pro. Snape has not been done justice either. and if they mess with his memories in DH its on.. Sorry to ramble but Ive said my peace for now.

Tho if I do decide to buy the book, how much does the each book cost. Maybe I can ask my co-worker to buy the series for me, since she owns me $30 for breaking my habit of bitting my nails. Trust me on this, my nails were so bad, that I am not surprise to find out later on in life that I have a health problem that was caused by unclean and untaken care of nails, but that habit is now stoped within six weeks and I am thankful for the help!!!

Does have some eerily (sp?) similar references to HP....but for a good magic tale...pretty good or I wouldnt have gone out to buy the rest of the series. (someone let me borrow magyk).

1. WB is really pissing me off with not having a trailer out yet. 2. Dumbledores funeral not being in HBP is sadly disappointing. 3. Fia, look I did read it first, I actually had no prejudice when I read it, the summary sounded interesting. It was gaining fame and I dont usually read all of those vampire stories so i thought it would be interesting to try one. To tell the truth my taste in books is very different from the taste of other hp fans, chances are if I hated it most of you will like it. I hated narnia and the series of unfourtunate events a lot more. I have a knack for guessing whats going to happen and I hate when it kicks in. Im sorry if I hurt your feelings. I do it quite a lot since there arent many hp fans with my taste. As i said you can take comfort knowing that since I hated it most hp fans will love it if they give it a try. Sorry

Let us try this again. I was just at the library and was typing up my mugglent comment on this topic, when website shut down and that is when I decided to ask the librarians to help me look up a copy of the #1 book in the twight series. Guess what all of the librarys near where I live has all together 34 copies total and there is a waiting list for 205 people, which everyone has three weeks total to finish reading the book. So in turn I wont have my hands on the book until September, if I am lucky!!!! Also, I was so mad with that bit of news that I took my frustration on the librarians and wasted their time, so that they could understand my pain. I am NOT going to buy a book when I dont even care for the book. I just dont understand why my book club had to choose a most hard time to get your hands on a book, when the group could wait until the fourth book in the series finally comes out and than we can read all of the books and not just three out of the four. Thank you to all for your help on the twight series search and I hope People understand that once you make a die hard fan made THERE IS NO HELP FOR YOU LELF!!! DIE YOU STUPED LIBRARIANS(sorry if you are a librarian and you are readying this, but where I live my library sucks) and DIE YOU WB MEMBERS!!!

I think it all boils down to...why is WB and Yates being so freakin difficult??? HBP is only 4 months away and all they have to show for it is some boring pictures and a 15 second clip...I dont even want to call it a trailer anymore. Its just ridiculous!!
Secondly, I just dont understand why they think it is necessary to change stuff in the plot. The whole argument about not wanting to introduce a new character...heck, thats WBs fault. I seriously do not think it would have been that difficult to find a red-head dude to show on the screen for 15 measly seconds, holding hands with Fleur (who the audience will remember from GOF) and saying, "Cant wait for the wedding" and then waste all of 5 seconds showing various members of the Weasley family frowning while Ron whispers to Harry (thats my bro, Bill!)...Then there would be no reason to have Greyback jump on Arthur rather than Bill.
Like I said before, cant wait for the other movie to come out..Summit seems to care more about that other fandom than WB is caring for HP fandom right about now...I apolgize for my hostility for those of you who are excited about this "trailer" and who dont mind the supposed Mr. Weasley change...

I thought the whole idea of splitting the book into two films was to do it right and incorporate everything, not to change the plot around. Of all the movies, DH is not one to mess with. Wow am I dissapointed....And about peoples comments regarding movie changes and such: I am so nervous about DH cause everything just sounds sooooo messed up. Are they planning on keeping anything the same? This sounds like its turning into a whole different story. They better keep the wedding in the 7th film because i wanted to see Rons Aunt first of all and also I wanted to see Ron and Hermione dance. This was a funny/cute scene that will make me sad if they take it out or change it all around :( I am not very happy right now. I am so frustrated with the fact that David Yates will be most likely directing the seventh film too. If Arthur Weasley gets bit instead of Bill, this actually affects the outcomes of the future film. I wanted to see a grand wizard wedding, Shell Cottage, and Teddy Lupin. Speaking of Teddy Lupin, has David decided that Tonks should show her face in the sixth film or will he keep her in the dark too? I absolutely hated the fifth film and I was hoping the sixth and seventh would end up making up for it. I think its time we have new director to do the seventh. No offense, but I think people need to settle down a bit. Not a whole lot of these details people are complaining about havent been confirmed one way or the other (like Dumbledores funeral for example). The whole Mr. Weasley instead of Bill thing doesnt bother me, as itll make the attack more personal, since weve gotten to know Mr. Weasley in the movies, and Bill hasnt even been mentioned, let alone seen in any of the movies. In the end, as long as JK Rowling is happy with the movie, Im happy with it. As for the preview itself, I actually want to see it in theatres, even though it isnt really much. I just want to really hear Dumbledores voice saying that line, and the logo on the big screen. As for why its a bit later than usual, I really dont care. Its not like we werent going to get it eventually. Actually, I like that theyve held it back a bit. Helps build up the wait for the movie a bit more. Its going to be a loooong wait for the next one after this to come out. I really havent seen this much "fan" moaning since before the TF movie was released last year. Its kinda sad, imo, that so many people complain that they arent getting exactly what they want. I think everybody should just calm down a bit and wait to actually see the movie before complaining about it.

Ok. Time for an over view of everything thats been going on, been rumoured and been officially "released."
As an avid Harry Potter fan, a dedicated reader for years on years, I have to say I too place alot in store in the movies.
For example, when I heard that Dobby was going to be replaced by Neville in the last few movies (Its happened a few times now) I was almost distraught to the point where I was angry at the movie makers before Id even seen the films themselves. But now, having seen them and been through the book-to-film process 5 times and coming up to the 6th of 8th, weve all got used to the idea that the movies arent always going to be exactly the same as the books - and you know what? Perhaps they shouldnt be. The books are fantastic, dont get me wrong. But the movies simplify things for a viewing audience, a 2 hour time slot to take the viewers into another world and follow a quickly running plot - its not like a book where JK can spend countless chapters creating deep and mystifying plots. Sometimes things have to be changed to make the movies more understanding and bring sense to some hard-to-follow plots. JK oversees everything that goes on in all the movies, and if she is ok with, say, Bill and Fleur being taken out of the 6th film, then perhaps we should all get a grip and realise that the films ARENT THE BOOKS and that things like this happen! We should all be happy that our favourite series has the chance to become the award winning, world renowned films that they are today. Even after all this, half the rumours circulating havent been officially released and so people are getting all hyped up or aggrivated over nothing!

Realise that the movies arent the books, and they do their best.
David Yates and the entire WB team are doing a fantastic job to follow the series through from start to finish and give us readers a chance to see our beloved books come to life in front of us.

I mean, 1st it BLOWING a HOLE in the ROOM OF REQUIREMENT : which plays a huge part in the sixth book, and even bigger part in the seventh! Then he cuts out Bill & Fleur in this film like their story is insufficient in the seventh book. WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH THIS MAN, CAN ANYONE TELL ME?! It just sucks that because were huge HP fan were gonna see it no matter how sucky it is. Its gonna do great in the box office, and feel thats why he does it like that ... its not gonna make much of a different whether its good or bad. Were still gonna see it, I know I am. Ive been planning it sents last year. This all sucks thats all. :(

I didnt think I would really care for the books either but i read the first 100 or so pages of twilight yesterday afternoon and last night I was havein dreams about vampires. Well the Cullen vampires. Good thing they dont drink human blood,lol. The books are worth 10 buck each, well I think so anyway.

Isnt anyone enjoying all the suspense and tension? Lets face it, we will all get to see the film in November, then only two more left.... then.....I appreciate that some people are desperate for info, I am a HP fanatic so so am I, but closer to the movie we will have more, remember all the clips from OOTP b4 it was released? And obviously they cant fit all the 600 and odd pages in 2 and a half hours or whatever, they have to make cuts and changes, and I for one think it has worked out reasonably well up until now, yeah I do get annoyed when certain stuff is left out, but they do the best they can!

The story plot for the movies are way of the charts by now, it is not even funny how different the movies and books are!!! Also I will see if the my money is worth ten bucks or not. I know that isnt alot of money for a book, but I have tried so hard to move away from hp, than no book has ever gone past the first chapter, without being brought back to the library the next day. That I dont want to end up happening again!!!

Like someone else here said, they know were going to see it. Were the real fans. Theyre just reeling in the regular movie-goer. Was anyone not enticed by this news? I was. I was foaming at the mouth to see the film and Im a die-hard Harry Potter fan. What do you think the regular movie-goer will think? Theyre going to be intrigued. Its a good move, people. We will get a real teaser trailer soon. Eventually, and you may not have known this, we will get the actual film. And then you can start complaining all over again. But for now? Shut up.

Also, stop complaining to David Yates about how much he sucks for cutting characters. That decision is left with the screenwriter who is, unfortunately, Steve Kloves. So, if you must complaing, send them to him. Its his "fault". And you must remember, these are adapted from the books. Adaptation means to be adjusted to new conditions. The book has to be ADJUSTED and CHANGED to become a movie. To expect an exact paper to film copy would be, as Dumbledore put it in Half-Blood Prince (which is fitting since were all complaining about it), "optimistic to the point of foolishness". So, stop.

yep the similarities between james and lily, harry and ginny , are there, but I dont think harry fell for ginny because of her kind of similarity to Lily. I think JKR drew similarites between the two couples so show history repeating itself, and that a black haired man and a red headed woman can fall in love again years after the first couple like then did, but that this time they can live happly in a world where Voldemort is vanquished! Im not sure that JKR had much influence in the casting but who knows. I mean, the two actresses have been the same since the first movie, right? They resemble each other. It could be a coincidence or it could be by design. Im guessing it is the former.

Whets my appetite!! Even the music is great. I wonder if wb can do something as good! doubt it. some of the scenes even look new!!
