July 21st, 2007 was the day we all began to read the final book in JK Rowling's tale of Harry Potter. Can you believe a year has already passed? MuggleNet held two live events; one in Chicago, one in London. 11 million copies were sold in the first 24 hours. And who can forget the much-criticized early review from the New York Times? Share your thoughts about this one year anniversary in the comments! MuggleCast 154 will be released later today, where we'll discuss the release and the state of the fandom.

Doesnt seem like a year. Loved the book. Favorite part was Malfoy Manor.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 01:23:42

WOW!!!! ALREADY AN YEAR.... cant believe it at all. loved the book

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 01:25:07

Wow...I remember the anticipation being at fever pitch...I felt like a kid at Christmas again. The wanting and the anticipation is often better than actually getting the thing you want most. Im saddened to think I may never be a part of something this awesome again.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 01:25:44

Harry Potter is the best thing that has ever happened to me. And I cant believe its been a year. Im proud of myself, you all, mugglenet and the general fandom for keeping up our obsession. And a special shoutout to Hogwarts: A Community on www . nexopia . com - You guys rock! We rock! Viva la revolution de Hufflepuff! Top Ten?!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 01:29:09

I couldnt sleep at all tonight, and then I realized that it was after midnight and that its actually the one year anniversary. I cant believe its been this long. That was certainly one of the greatest and most emotional days of my life. I cant believe it...

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 01:33:20

Wow, I can not believe it has already been one year, it was weird reading the last book knowing it was going to end, but I would probably say it had to be the best book, it was kind of sad and kind of good all in the same. Thanks, J.K. Rowling.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 01:33:32

So sad really! I too love the books, but I am excited to see what J. K. might come up with next for the general public to read and enjoy. The last book was all that it needed to be, yet, I still want to know about Harrys grandparents. Maybe it wasnt relative to the general plot, but why were they so absent from his story. I hope to know some day.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 01:37:39

One year since I physically had the book, one year three days since I actually read it. Yeah I read those page by page scans, but I still stood in line at midnight already knowing how it ended and bought the book. Then I read it all over again.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 01:38:23

Its 11:30 PM right now where I am. Ah, the memories. Right now a year ago, they were just beginning to line us up by letter. I was letter E. My friend, her sister and her sisters boyfriend, and my mom were with me. We got there at 5:00 PM and walked to the nearest Scholskys for dinner. I remember every detail as if it were yesterday. It makes me very depressed I will never take part in that again. :(

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 01:40:29

wow it has benn that long but im celebrating the end of harry potter by reading deathly hallows im on chapter (14-the thief) it my second time reading it since i got it on july 21 after i read it i just kept reading the others and now im reading it againe best book of all time dispite of what people say it has a grate ending with good and peace grate way to put HARRY JAMES POTTER away

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 01:44:14

Its only really started to sink in that its over. I was reading the first book and I realized that I know what happens to all these characters that I love, and that I will never be anticipating another story about the famous Boy-Who-Lived....its all very depressing....I LOVE HARRY POTTER!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 01:54:29

I can hardly believe that its been a year. Like AuntieEm, I couldnt sleep and then I realized that it was the 21st...Im planning on doing a re-read tomorrow straight through, like I did the first time. Only Ill be starting at a slightly less ungodly time...hoping to get up at six and go straight through. It makes me so happy to think of all the wonderful memories the I have had and will have because of Harry Potter that I never wouldve experienced otherwise. On the other hand, things will never be quite the same--no more midnight release parties, no more Snape debates...and that makes me die a little inside. But in the end my thoughts always turn to what wonderful things are left for us crazies--and how well show the world that were never going to go away!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 01:54:52

Wow. A whole year. I honestly cannot belive that its been a year since the seventh book came out thats crazy. One year ago at this moment, I was sitting on my bedroom floor watching the video of J.K. Rowling reading the first chapter of the book on Scholastics website. THe whole time wondering why the heck I decided to pre-order the book in February instead of going to the last midnight party and getting the book...but that clip of Jo reading the chapter was enough to drive me crazy and the next morning I had to babysit and the wholetime I talked about Harry Potter to these kids who had no idea who Harry Potter was while I waited for teh hours to tick by until the postman delivered my book..and well the rest is history! Honestly this day should be a holiday for this fandom, the one day where everything stops and we can get lost in Harrys world.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 01:55:48

Alright Ive been re-reading the 7th book, but I saved the last 7 chapters for tonight, I started at midnight my time and just now finished 3 hours later. Normally I would have finished by 2 maybe even 1:30 but no, I was crying my eyes out for haf of it, knowing whats coming and whose gonna die and how it ends really hurts. and I really dont want it to be over ya know, cuz it means its the end of my childhood. I started the first one when I was 7, now Im 17 and getting ready for college...but I dont want to, I want to stick with Harry Potter and stay a kid forever, play quidditch...rescue the stone. por harry had to grow up fast and I really feel his pain because now I know what its like to be a grown up... harry i was with you as you walked into the forest ready to die!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 02:02:24

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 02:04:59

i cant BELIEVE its been a year. july 21st, 2007 was a good day. a very good day. i am so full of nostalgia right now.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 02:05:26

I remember it like it was yesterday, seriously. And I dont think Im ever going to forget it. I really liked the epilogue actually, and I remember reading the final chapter and just as the light came in the book the sun rose here it was unforgetable and im glad, because I dont want to forget it, ever. And the fact that its been a year and its still strong in my mind makes me feel better, becuase it means i can hold on to all these wonderful feelings.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 02:05:40

I cant believe its really been a year. Thats truly amazing. JKR is a legend. What she has done has changed the lives of millions. The 7th book was brilliant. I loved everything about it, mostly because there was a reason for every. little. detail. It was perfect.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 02:12:21

oh wow! the time passed by fast!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 02:13:16

it was a total bitter sweet day and Im glad to be able to say I was there! one of the first in line at Borders that night and I was able to read book 7 without any spoilers thanks to my intense paranoid lockdown hahah. I cant help it, saying "it feels like it was just yesterday" feels like a totally appropriate statement when I think about the release night and reading Deathly Hallows for the first time.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 02:17:04

Of course I remember! The day before I was annoying my Gran saying "eight more hours.....two more hours!!" but then I had to wait until the next morning for my dad to pick me up and take me to Borders. We went to Asda first but they were all sold out!! I didnt want it to be the end!! I read it all the way home and then locked myself away to read it. I couldnt even eat anything!! I cried so much at Godrics Hollow and at the Battle of Hogwarts and especially at The Forest Again, where Harry asked his parents if death hurt. *cries* Although it was great, I felt a bit dazed at the end and I didnt want to be sad so I listened to Mugglecast and I was fine!! I loved listening to them because they made me feel like I had someone to talk to about how I felt about the end of the book! And they were super funny - "GIVE IT UP FOR MOLLY WEASLEY!!"

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 02:22:39

Wow, that is hard to believe that a whole year has passed since Deathly Hallows was released. Right now Id be sitting in my room reading the book out loud with my sister. Wed be really tired, but at the same time wed be totally psyched. That night was seriously the greatest night of my life. Ill never forget waiting in line for the book, touching it for the first time, wishing the ride home would be shorter so that I could read it sooner, and finally reading it in its entirety, enjoying every fantastic moment of it. I think Im gonna cry!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 02:39:58

So much nostalgia! OMG, a year ago now (its 12:40 where I am), I was at my friends farmhouse frantically reading the first chapter with six other friends, having had a day-long release party the day before. We read the first page at the grocery store where we picked up our copies at midnight, but waited to read the rest till we got back to the farmhouse so it was fair for the drivers. We then read the whole book, not quite straight through because wed stop every five chapters for discussion--the last opportunities for what we loved most about growing up with Harry Potter: all the speculation and analysis. I miss that so much! So tonight at midnight, my friends and I all read the first chapter of DH again, for old times sake. :)

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 02:42:38

I was a latecomer to the HP saga and the frenzy, but once I started reading Harry Potter, I coudnt stop. The DH event was my first and it was very exciting for me and my kids. The next three days were a whirlwind of emotion as I barely managed to keep my kiddos fed and happy, sinced I was glued to Deathly Hallows. I laughed and cried and sobbed. When I finished, I mourned for the loss of HP in my life, but have been keeping connected by getting psyched for the 6th movie. I wonder if theres a 12-step program for us HP addicts! LOL Thank you, JK Rowling for the magic!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 02:43:48

goodness me, a year all ready, is it... loved DH, like anything out of Rowlings Quill. especially the Epilog was the best thing ever!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 02:45:44

Emerson said it best: "People will be picking up Harry Potter books for generations to come, but we are the lucky few who can say, We were there." (I put that quote on my senior yearbook page, btw, right by the pic of me and my friends with our copies of DH on the night of 7/21/07!)

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 02:54:30

This is so great, all of us reflecting on our DH experiences. Its nice to relive the night Deathly Hallows was released, because it was just that unforgettable. Im really tired right now, but I cant get myself to go to bed. I feel like getting out my book and doing it all over again!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 02:57:44

Wow, a year ago, I was reading it for the first time... has it really been that long? O_o And a year and 3 hours ago, I was watching Emerson & Ben count down to midnight in Oak Park. Ah, nostalgia. :)

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 03:00:41

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 03:04:08

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 03:12:57

WOW! A YEAR?????!!!!!!!??????? I cant believe it- it was just... the times gone so quickly, hasnt it? You know, the mugglecasters should probobly have saved there epilogue by epilogue for recording to day, shouldnt they? then it would be a year...

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 03:27:26

funny just yesterday i was talking to my friend that tomorrow [today] is going to be a year since the release of the book. i still remember that day, i went out and bought actually expecting it to be sold out but i got there early ^_^ and was able to buy one

sorry many typos -___- funny just yesterday i was talking to my friend that tomorrow [today] is going to be a year since the release of the book. i still remember that day, i went out and bought actually expecting it to be sold out but i got there early ^_^ and was able to buy one ive read it so many times its like my bible :D so to speak... its sort of hard to imagine that a series that took the world by storm has ended. an era has ended. and now when some of us teens get older and have our kids we get to let them read it ^_^ tear... i love harry potter

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 03:38:30

Awww *tears up* In about two hours from my current time is where I had to take a break and go outside, and tell my parents "Voldemort is freaking evil." Then being so sleep deprived I couldve sworn I saw him in the bushes! Hahaha good times good times.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 03:44:27

wow a whole year already. it seems like just yesterday that i was in barnes and nobles waiting anxiously in line for my very own copy of the book. Im reading the first chapter right now, which is exactly what i was doing at the time a year ago.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 04:02:23

THAT WAS A WHOLE YEAR?!?!?! Ahh!!!! I miss the days of speculation.... I wish it could have gone on forever... Now I feel that something special needs to be done today! I feel kind of sad... But yet I feel kind of happy... remembering those good times... Oh I dont even know what I feel... I THINK I MAY CRY NOW!!!! :(

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 04:13:36

Aaaah, Yes! Yes, yes, how well I remember. It seem only yesterday I queued out side the Words n Pages to buy DH. I cant believe It has been a year. I remember the waiting, the live events, the discussions about thats going to happen in DH... My god I will never forget the anticipation. In it, my greatest regret perhaps was not attending the realise party. I knew, if I didnt go there I will regret it for the rest of my life. But what could I do? The book store was perhaps three miles away from our home and my parents would never allow me to go that far all by myself and they wouldnt drive me there either. So I remember being in my room, crying my eyes out for missing the launching party. But It was only till 10 oclock. You didnt thought I would ruin that historic night crying did you? NO sir, nothing could upset me that night. I called my friend who was at the party and conferenced with him till 12:15am (I had to turn off my mobile after that because the once who had brought DH, started to bombard me with spoiler). And then in the morning, after over six years of fan-ship, I bought Deathly Hollows, the final book of Harry Potter series.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 04:19:46

its been a year already! i knew this from a few days back and been anticipating, told all my riends and read the chapter from the battle of hogwarts onwards to celebrate. wow. i love harry potter, the series has been my life... i wish i did not fall so hrdly into them but i dont regret the joy thye gave me, wish i spentatleast one day out with friends than reading them though, but reading them onthe bus to uni today...wow!!! like my life did anothe complete circle. everytime i read the endin.. goosebumps :)

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 04:23:49

My gosh, I cant believe its been a year already! I can remember, this time last year I was furiously flicking through page after page to get to the end. And I can remember absolutly sobbing from the end of The princes tale to the very end. That was an experiance of a lifetime! Its so weird to think that my 8 year Harry Potter journey ended a year ago. Of course I still read them but its just not the same anymore ..

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 04:33:03

What an awesome book - my favourite in the series! =D

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 04:34:19

One year ago. Wow. I remember going to my mall and going into coles at 6 PM on the eve of July 21st. The clerk told me to go around the around to their back entrance where I saw an awesome poster. I was actually first in line. About an hour and a half after I got there a woman and two kids showed up. We had interesting conversations. Then a sister and brother of a long time acquaintance of mine showed up. More and more people showed up and as the night became more dark. Everyone was so excited. I even got a posterbook for waiting in line. At 11 PM they let us in. It got a tad bit boring but I waited near the cash register. Then at ten minutes left I couldnt wait. 5 minutes. 1 MINUTE LEFT! They gave me and the woman who was 2nd in line one of those confetti popping things. The countdown commences. ...3, 2, 1! BAM. They lift up all of this cloth and we witness Deathly Hallows. They give me the first copy and I held it in the air. People were cheering and cheering. It was a great time and great book. Feels like last week.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 04:35:44

Ah, Deathly Hallows!!! Cant believe its already a year, Im getting all emo thinking about it, how we waited in line with fans here in SA, marched out with the book at lightening speed so no one could shout out spoilers, then stayed home not eating/sleeping til I reached the end... Thanks Jo Rowling for everything, youre my hero!!!!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 04:40:27

I so LOVED it:) I didnt go to any event, but just bought the book in the morning and read and read and read. :) It was the first book I read first in English and then in Dutch..I was so happy not having to wait for the translation! I want to read DH now, but I havent got the book here:(. I will celebrate this every year, and NEVER forget it:)

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 04:41:49

it was just like yesterday... my memories are still fresh

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 04:41:50

It feels so strange that a whole year has passed. It went so quickly. This time a year ago I would have been reading Malfoy Mannor, or something around there. I think it is scary that I know exactly what I was doing. But not really suprising. It was a memorable day. Its briliant that the fan base is just as strong as it was a year ago, if not more so. Lets hope for many more harry potter filled years to come. Hurrah!!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 04:52:48

Why cant we just go back a year and do it all again?... I was sit in this room right now reading the first few pages... wow... a year already? I remember it like it was yesterday.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 04:53:55

OMG a whole year! :O Deathly hallows was definitely the best book of the series- best book out of every book in fact lol. Harry Potter is like a main aspect in my life-still is even if the books are over. JK Rowling is like...my idol!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 05:03:14

I just clicked on the link for the much-criticized early reviews, abd saw there were 4464 comments. I was a really late HP bloomer (I always loved the books, but didnt understand English and we didnt really have internet till something like a year ago.........So I was never really obsessed. And I wasnt aware that there were so many comments..that really makes me sad:( Like it is really over, bu t I cant think that. It feels just like yesterday, I can remember it so clearly! I remember being on holiday and getting the book there. I git it really late (like 10 or 11 in the morning.. O.o, because my mother didnt want to get up early...) So when I was on the way back to where I was staying then, I saw just 1 or 2 people reading it...). That same night, we had to go home. I remember reading in the car..I nearly finished it then, but my parents said I HAD to sleep, so I finished it within 2 days...(Well, if you count from the time I got it,, probably within 1 day). I also really wanted to know about Harrys grandparents..Ow and maybe the reason I didnt read the thing about " the much-criticized early review " is because I was on holiday! I think it was..Because I remember being on this site before DH coming out already(but i didnt have an account yet, and never read the comments..).WOW, that was a long post:P PS. Did you know The Netherlands is the only country where The Dark Knight is 16+? >_> And I really wanted to see it! (It is going to be released thursday here..)

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 05:09:20

Ow, and I forgot to say that I was still awake after midnight and really wanted to get my DH book to celebrate its first anniversary, but I dont have it here...And also, when I was not even really awake this morning I was aware of the fact that it was 1 year since the release..

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 05:14:22

Has anyone checked the comments for that review? Its almost all spammed up with the same post... I did get a bit sad when I read the earlier comments for the review though... when we didnt know what was to come... and we still had it all to wait for. =[

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 05:22:18

DONT SEEM THAT LONG! I READ THE BOOK 3 TIMES AND ALSO HAVE THE CASSETTE WHICH I KEEP IN MY CAR AND LISTEN TO WHEN EVER I AM DRIVEING.YOU DONT HAVE TO BE YOUNG TO ENJOY HP! Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 05:28:47

i cant believe that some people didnt like the epilouge it was great, and calling harrys son albus severus was also great, as harry explained that they were tow of the bravest men he ever knew btw i cant believe that its been a year WOW

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 05:30:04

Oh my Godric! 1 year! It felt like just like weekend, i got out of my bed, made my way down to the shops, grabbed my pre-ordered book and sat on my bed and not moving. Even the next day, I didnt even move from my bed... well for the toilet, i made an exception :). Then, I still remember, at 2:39:41am, after an exhausting night, with tears in my eyes... still remember the death of Fred & Snape *r.i.p* and also because of the happiness of Harry and ECT. I turned the last page.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 05:46:37

messi , I agree with you, the Epilogue was good:)

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 05:48:20

I cant believe its been a year. July 2007 was probably one of the best Julys of my entire existence (and Im not being dramatic either). I dont think Ill ever forget that summer. July 21 was definitely the pinacle of the entire month. I still remember going with a good friend of mine to a Deathly Hallows release party, and practically bouncing around the entire time. After getting the book, we went back to my friends house, danced around with the book for ten minutes, and began to read. Starting with the dedication, we sat and analyzed every page, savoring the book while it lasted. We read until we couldnt keep our eyes open (around 4 A.M), went to sleep, and started again the minute we woke up. We laughed, we cried, and we shared what was truly and unforgetable experience. And okay, I sound wicked sappy and over dramatic, but its true. Deathly Hallows made that summer truly magical.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 05:54:14

oh how i remember the anticipation. i got my copy after my class in school. i rushed to the mall to get me copy and immediately sat down inside McDonalds to read the first chapter...

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 05:56:41

Its unreal that its a year already best summer ever was that summer of Harry Potter!!!!! (and who can forget the rain???)

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 05:57:24

but i gotta, ask who is victoire??,remember james saying ted is with our cousin, our victoire

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 06:04:33

Its amazing how fast a year can fly by. I get sad when I think about not ever being at a bookstore for a HP midnight release again. I read the book non stop from 1:30 am ( believe it or not.. there was actually traffic getting home from the store that late in the evening) til Midnight. The best 22 + hrs of my life. The family of course thought I was crazy lol. BTW... anybody know of when the paperback version will be out??

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 06:16:51

omg, one year ago? :O It is creepy how the time just fly away. I remeber that I was with my friend who bought copy in her local supermarket and she had to promise not start reading it ( because lets face it- Harry Potter is addicting ) and we live in diffrent countries so we dont see each other often. And I waited probaly about one-two until I started reading the Deathly Hallows because I couldnt be in places where I could read it without any disturbing me. I dont know how I could have waited that long:P Anyways, for me the books have just gone better and better and Ive become a much bigger fan than I was before the Deathly Hallows came out.

I cannot, in fact, I REFUSE, to believe that it has been one year that J.K. Rowling gave us Deathly Hallows. I think that I might just cry and go read it... again. J.K. Rowling, there is only one thing I have to say to you: THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 07:02:50

omg i cant believe its been a year!!! Getting that book and reading it for the first time was the best experience of my life!!! i love you Jo! Thanks for making DH teh best book of teh series!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 07:08:18

I also forgot to say this: If your writing can reduce millions of people to tears before theyve even cracked open the spine of your book, you must be a GOD. (I know I cried the second that book landed in my hands... and all throughout.)

One whole year. DH was my first midnight release and I went with my best friend and her son. I dressed up as Hermione and at midnight, we were the 20th and 21st people in line to buy our copies (I had to loan her my deluxe edition cause the bookstore didnt order enough copies). Then we stayed up til 5am reading, but we were both exhausted so we got 3 hours of sleep. Then we went and found her a deluxe edition and her, her husband, and I sat on the couch in her living room all day and read. Their 9-year-old was the only one not reading, ironically enough (hes more into Goosebumps then Harry). I finished the book in 14 hours and have read it 4 times more since then. Im so glad that I got the chance to share in something that big. To commemorate, I got the Hogwarts crest (complete with the filligree and motto) tattooed on the back of my neck. Not only is it a tribute to the mark Jos books have left on me, but its a tribute to my 72-year-old uncle, who is just as big a Potter fan as I am. I can pass these stories down to my children someday and I hope they can love them as much as I did.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 07:12:25

Ahh yes the DH release was the first time my boyfriend relized that I was a HP weirdo that was at walmart standing in line to get a book at 1 in the morning. He must not have cared to much, hes still with me. :) I agree with most it could have ended better but it was still a wonderful series.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 07:13:45

I thought today was only 20/7/08 not 21/7/08. I need to step away from the computer i think

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 07:17:03

I remember nearly mugging the postman that morning! But stupidly didnt go to a release party :( That summer was amazing though - all I did was post on forums and read fanfic!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 07:17:32

thanks evanna,, but could u know????

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 07:18:54

Ive recently just Re-read the Deathly hallows book and finished it yesterday, i had forgotten how Great the book was, although i knew what was going to happen i still had the excitement in me when reading it again. I dont know what it is about Harry potter but it just makes you feel part of a whole new exciting world, nothing will be able to top an amazing series like Harry potter for Years and decades to come!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 07:23:13

ONE YEAR!! WOW! I remember I went to the midmight event with my husband (he was my boyfriend then) and we were the first in the line, we were so excited!!! That day will remain in our memories as one of the best days in our lives, what a day and we loved the book A great ending for a great series!!!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 07:25:32

Aww.... Im on my upteenth readthrough of the entire series, and I wish I was starting DH today in recognition. :- Im only halfway through OotP, through. Shucks!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 07:28:32

omg, its been a year already ? time flies too fast. Deathly Hallows is absolutely my favorite, and Harry Potter is my hero. No matter what happen it will be always in my heart. July 21st 2007 was one of the best night in my life, where I celebrate it at scholastic headquarters. All I can say is, Thank you J.K Rowling for all the hardwork you put upon this series and thanks mugglenet for keeping us informed with all the harry potter news. I LOVE HARRY POTTER AND MUGGLENET, AND MUGGLECAST TOO !

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 07:32:26

wow, still cant believe its been a year. it was my first time going to a midnight release =]

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 07:33:35

*A bark of laughter* A year...? I cant believe it! I remember I went dressed up to the place were I got it (no, I was not the only one dressed in Harry Potter robes with wand in hand) and I got might at about 12:02, but it was funny because, this little boy, around six years old, looked up at me, looked at my wand and said almost like Ron in the Philosophers Stone, "Youre...Youre Harry Potter!" I also had to get up at like 7:00 in the morning the next day to leave for a roadtrip, I was so bored on the way to our destination that I had read Deathly Hallows twice in one week. RREEEMMMUUSSS and DDOORRAA and DDOOOBBBBYY!!!!Those were the worst deaths for me, well, and Colin and Snivellus (no offense, just habit).Remus was finally happy, and Dora was finally with the one she loved!!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 07:37:34

i really cant believe that it has been an entire year already! i went to borders with my best friend for the release party, and let me tell you, it was a blast. as soon as i got my book, i wanted to cry, out of pure happiness of course. i knew that the book that i held in my hands was the beginning of the end of a major chunk of my childhood. i started reading the books when i was in first grade, and at the time, i was about to start eigth. after reading DH, i was very happy that everything worked out alright, but i was very upset by all of the deaths [mainly Freds and Remus], but more so because i had just witnessed the end of harrys journey. i applaud J.K. Rowling for her work on the series, and i will cherish all of the books for the rest of my life. happy one year anniversary Deathly Hallows!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 07:37:56

YAY, A WHOLE YEAR !!!!!!!!!!!! A year ago right now Id already read the book. We went to a midnight release party, then I read it the whole way home and persuaded my parents to let me read it all night. I finished it around six thirty AM and slept the rest of the day. Im planning on reading it today as a memorial/commemoration something of the sort.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 07:47:10

I just cant believe it has been a year since the "Deathly Hallows". That week leading up to the release of the "Deathly Hallows" went too quickly, and it just feels like yesterday that i was waiting in line, and at the midnight party to get it. Then midnight came, and went, and i went home and started reading it,and was sobbing through so many of the parts. I was done with the "Deathly Hallows"by seven that morning, and it was sad, happy, very emotional, and a wonderful way to end the Harry Potter series. All the questions i had got answered for me in the "Deathly Hallows". I was so happy that Harry survived, and so did Hermione, and Ron. So Voldys gone moldy so lets have fun lol.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 07:48:11

I cannot believe it has been a whole year already! Wow! 2007 was the best HP year for me because it was my first ever midnight release party (which was AWESOME), the release of my favorite HP book (DH, of course), and the best thing of all was meeting Jo at the Open Book Tour in NYC and her signing my copy of Deathly Hallows...and shaking my hand. I will never ever forget that experience and my life has been forever changed by these books and the amazing woman who wrote them. I love you Harry Potter and Jo!!!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 07:53:55

I cant believe it! I stayed off-line all day and made my sister check mugglenet. I can remember dancing in my driveway barefoot when I got the book. And I spent 12 hours reading it, and when I finished it I just kinda sat there and said, "Now what?" Best book ever! Thanks Jo, for creating the most awesome books ever!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 07:56:19

I really love DH. But it is sad to think that there will be no more Harry Potter. Ive read the book several times already. I read DH in a little over one day. I never read a book that fast before. Cant wait to see the last two movies. I wish Mugglecast would do a chap. by chap. on HBP since the movie is coming out in Nov.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 08:05:58

Ah, year since the last book of the top fansty books of all time was released. I video from when my friends and I went to the party...Harry Potter changed my in more than one way and I will never be able to find a book series that filled me up with more hope than Harry Potter. Cant wait to get home and read them all over again. Harry Poter forever!!!!!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 08:06:17

Wow, its been a year already. I remember spending time with my best friend for the last time that night because she was about to go to her college in another state. It was wonderful we had shirts made for ourselves and everyone at the Borders we went loved them and kept asking them where they were made. They were suprised that it was us who made them. Then getting a mysterious caller saying that Harry died on my cell phone that night at ten oclock. Finally I figured out who it was and told him that it was so true. He had yet to read the book because he wanted to borrow mine. Then getting home to an empty house because my mom went somewhere for the night because she knew how I was when I read the Harry Potter books. When I found out that my name was Dumbledores mother I was litterally jumping up and down. Of course my computer had responsis from my friends telling me that they had to tell me about my name in the book as well. I know after I finished it I was in tears wondering what else I was going to live for. But I know that I can always pick the books up and getting the experience to share it with my nieces and nephews who are now reading them its another experience. Thanks J.K Rowling for everything.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 08:08:17

Ah, sweet memories...I remember holding Deathly Hallows in my hands for the first time and, as we walked to the car, saying things like, "Oh, my God! I cant believe this!!" in a much higher voice than usual...lol. And then it was such a great book...!!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 08:12:12

I have been counting down to this day. Happy Harry Potter Fandom Day everybody :D. It really doenst seem like it was a whole year ago we all got out DH books. It went by so fast. I keep thinking that is there was an 8th book today might be the day we would have got it. It makes me sad to think about it. Im doing things today to celebrate HPFD though. I want to remember the good times.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 08:15:55

I REMEMBER!!! ^ ^ I looked at all my pictures from the release party last night smiling. I seriously cant believe its already been a year! Wow....One year ago was truly one of the best days of my life...so far! Thanks, Jo! (long live Harry!!!) =D

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 08:17:57

That was the greatest day of my life. I read it twice that day. One year later, and its still my favorite book of all time. Thank you JKR, you are God.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 08:18:21

I didnt do the big Borders events or anything, i just went to a local grocery store that was selling copies. i got my copy at 12:06 exactly. The random, and this is not a joke, the random homeless guy who walks around the 24-hour mart had no idea why we were all there. I guess Harry hasnt permeated the homeless community as of yet, but it will maybe. It was nice getting it early, cause while i was on page 50, my friend at borders had just got her copy. The day that shall live on forever.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 08:18:36

Well today goes nicely with my name =D But wow 1 yr.. haha i remember it like it was yesterday.. i had a baseball game that day, and right after it ended we went straight to barns and noble and my mom & i picked out our own copies... i remember how freakin sweet it was walkin in B&N and seeing hundreds of copies of the book just sitting there lol.. so then we went home and i sat on the couch and read it all day only stopping to eat and pee!!! Best day ever.....

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 08:22:48

OMG I didnt even realize its been a year! I didnt do anything special or to any events though. I just cant belive thats the last book! I probably wont believe till I dont know, Ill never stop hoping.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 08:23:20

I was camping, so i had to wait 2 whole days to get it.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 08:23:21

Ill always remember this day! Harry Potter 4ever!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 08:23:53

My name also fits with today! :) I think as a tribute, I will read it again.....which means I will have read it 8 times. Good lord I loved that book....I wrote all the spoilers on the endpapers after I read it 3 times, which forced my mum to borrow it from the library. Now we just have to wait for a HBP trailer, the special edition of SS, and JKR to write the Scottish Book!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 08:26:17

OMG !! I cant believe its been a year. Last year was the first and last time i would ever queue at midnight for a harry potter book. i was with my grandma and she was wingeing that the queue was too long and we met my English teacher their. We were queuing up at waterstones but it wasnt until we were nearly at the shop that people started saying there was a shorter queue round the corner at WHSmiths lol my grandma had steam coming out of her ears

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 08:35:14

I cannot believe it has been a year! It is sad, but Im glad that the fandom is still going strong. I get so upset though when I read about Twilight being "the next Harry Potter" and Stephenie Meyer being "the next JK Rotwling". Im sorry, but Twilight is no where near as good as Harry Potter, and nobody can ever replace JK Rowling. Ive moved on and read different books, but nothing can compare to the greatness of Harry Potter.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 08:40:14

Funny, that MC finished the chapter-by-chapter of book 7 last week. and its alredy year since it came out :) I hated tha epilogue :(

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 08:43:05

Long Live Harry Potter

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 08:44:37

A year? It really only shortly started to sink in. PPD drowned for the past couple of days. i remember waiting in line anxiously with my sister, then locking my door, and reading furiously. Its been an emotional ride. Thanks JKR, for making my ride memorable. xxSharii

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 08:49:08

WOW! one year. Cant believe it.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 08:50:00

wow it sure was fun just awaiting the moment of the book to come out so i could start reading it right away. i thank my parents for preordering the book for me. =D but i heard that jk rowling was making another book for after everybody grew up. is this true? because i have no idea. but either way, thanks jk rowling, for all you have done. we love you all dearly. *hugs*

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 08:50:39

really this is quite depressing. :( its over and i still dont know what to do with myself...

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 08:52:53

Clearly one of the best days of my life. I had SO much fun with my dad at the Midnight Party.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 08:52:55

Stephenie Meyers books are good, but nowhere near as good as HP.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 08:58:47

wish i had a time turner then i would have returned to 21 july 07 and read it for the first time over again . LoL i remember siting on the balcony at night and reading the death of moody a sad momenet that was, i expected some deaths but he died so early in the book it was shoking

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 09:03:15

Wow...time goes by SO FAST!!! I totally remember every single thing about that day...that WEEK, even. So chaotic...yet soooooo ...i dunno...amazing... What a series...I dont think any other series/book has had as much of an impact as HP, and I dont think any series/book ever will. Happy 1 year anniversary, Deathly Hallows!! I totally remember everything...spending the day with my friends walking around town dressed up as Harry Potter characters (there was a town-wide Harry Potter event that day). We just spent the whooooole day walking around exploring...it was amazing. And that night at the Borders midnight release...its just so exciting being around people who you dont know...and yet feel a connection to. And I finished the book around 12 noon...thats about 2 hours from now...where I am. Perhaps Ill go read it again today...

The Victoire thingy was on JK Rowlings site (still is). If you click on the pink rubber and open the door, there is a family tree.

Ohh, such good memories! A year since the last book! Oh, its so good we have a movie to look forward to. (And I personally think that there is still plenty of hope, based on what weve seen, for this next one to be the best one yet!) Think of it that way, dont let it make you sad, this is the anniversary of a HAPPY occasion!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 09:18:50

i remeber this cooming out. i went to a book store right after a softball game and walked around with my cuzin (who was dressed up as harry) till 11. i had to leave cuz of a game in the moring. he stayed. at 6:30 though rate be fore my next game i went to target and had to stand in a line i was like 5th! in line for the book. they toook us into the store were we secelted the book! ahh it was amazing. i remeber reading it inbetween games. ahh i loved it!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 09:22:04

Yeah, the twiligth saga is great, but HP is..bloody brilliant:)

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 09:23:16

HOLY CR*P!! I cant flippin believe its been a year. where the hell did the time go? Me and my friends through a walmart tailgate thinking it wouldnt be as crowded as barnes and nobles though still getting there at 7 just to be sure. we partied in the lot til round 930 then went inside where they had jkrowling reading from the last premiere (HBP) on every tv which only uped the anticipation and excitment. we ended up being 3rd on line out of over 800 people who showed up!! 800 people in one wal-mart for one book!! CRAZY!! at 1145 they started bringing out the books 2 where we were all lined up and meyhem broke loose! people started arguing about places on line, one woman even punched another! that last 15 mins was the longest of my life, just watching the books, all nervous, longing to get it yet at the same time not wanting to bc it would mean all the anticipation, fun events, excitment at hearing new, etc was over... that was until the people who worked at walmart teased us by opening the books and starting to read passages!! we all put our fingers in our ears and shouted at them for that!! haha but in the end it was 1159 and u could just tell everyone was holding their breath!! then it was 1200, someone announced it was HP&DH day officially and we RAN forward, RAN to a register, RAN outside &danced & hugged eachother & sprinted to the car, singing, dancing, laughing, and just forgetting for once in our lives that we were 17/18 years old forgetting we were seniors in highschool, forgetting everything except 3 facts... that we loved harry potter, that the book was finally here, and that we just had the greatest night of our lives to be followed by the greatest few days full of amazingness. Thank you SOO much Jo for EVERYTHING!! These novels made my life the way it is today & i love every moment!!!! Each book just got better & better and the 7th was just greatness to the point of speachlessness. I cant even begin 2 express my gratitude. NOT My DAUGHTER YOU girl!! :-...

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 09:26:07

hahahahaha yessss i remember what i was doing a year ago! the night before while every other normal harry potter fan was at events and parties and whatnot, i was at home fighting with my boyfriend ONLINE. i stayed up until four AM trying to resolve it, but he wouldnt listen and he just kept ignoring me and being a jerk. i was so upset that i only got two hours of sleep- then i woke up at six AM and was completely distraught all morning, especially since i didnt get any sleep. and then around ten AM my mother went outside and noticed a box sticking out of our mailbox- AND I TOTALLY FORGOT ABOUT MY STUPID BOYFRIEND BECAUSE OF THE BOOK!!!! i was so happy when i curled up on my living room couch and started reading, but then a few hours later Ron left the group and i cried because it reminded me of how my boy left- but then Ron came back, and i felt better. but anyway, HPDH was amazing, and it helped me get through a lot of things and understand a lot of things- it symbolized both the end of Harry Potter, but also the end of a stupid relationship with a stupid boy. AND I LOVE HARRY POTTER, JK ROWLING + MUGGLENET FOR IT!!! THANKS A BUNCH, AND KEEP UP ALL THE GOOD WORK GUYS! THANKS FOR HELPING ME THROUGH ALL THE ROUGH TIMES!!!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 09:27:14

Wow...I cant believe its been a YEAR! I remember I read DH in 7 hours exactly; I thought that was pretty sweet. :)

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 09:27:33

omg has it really been a year??? I cant believe it!! I remember getting the book perfectly. I also remember that we were babysitting my little cousins and I had to help with the two young ones so i couldnt read it! So at twelve oclock at night once all the young ones were asleep I laid down on my floor and read the entire book. It was great, the best book by far i thought. So sad that we wont be waiting anxiously for another one :(

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 09:36:49

i know! its been a whole year... its really sad that its all said and done. harry potter was the first book i read as a kid so im really attached. =( come the last movie in 2010 i will be breaking down in tears and my friends will make fun of me cause it means the end of the whole potter era. i think though that i couldnt have gone on forever and that she ended it really well.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 09:38:18

Wow... I was thinking about this earlier this week... You know, I cried the most at that one. I hadnt been reading nonstop, though, because I somehow felt some odd need for sleep. My sister took it from me before I was finished, at the end of Chapter 34, The Forest Again. I was so sad. I thought Harry was DEAD!! I sometimes wonder if anyone else was forced to stop at the end of Chapter 34..... Anyway, Harry Potter has changed my life... crap, now I have to get all emotional...

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 09:38:50

wow. one year. it barely feels like one day. i remember last year going to the bookstore and screaming when the clock struck midnight. i feel like--and im sure others feel the same--on that day a little part of me died, and every year another part will die too. but in the end, i guess theres nothing we can do. yeah, so its over. but i guess weve always got those memories..

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 09:40:58

yeahh Im actually re-reading this book now...even tho i know what happens Im still feeling all the suspense. Wish there was another one to look foreword too. But even tho theres not i still think that all of us harry potter fans were taken on a great ride...whether we waited anxiously for every book...or started on the series later... we couldnt have asked for a better story over all, or a better final book from j.k Rowling. This one year date really reminds me of all the times that Ive had either waiting for the books, or reading them, or watching the movies. But my best memory was when my friend was reading the deathly hallows and i had already finished it. She had got to the part when harry knew he had to die. She called me almost in tears saying i cant read this, cant read this! I told her she had to read it and then i ended up reading that entire chapter to her on the phone. It was a great memory for a great book. I just want to officially say... thanks j.k for the best series of books i will probably ever read.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 09:50:26

1 year already?! All of my friends at work got there book on the same day but, mine came one day later. I tried to purposly read the book slowly just to savor every word and little nuance. The saddest part was the death of little Dobby..the best was Neville taking down Nagini. The only part that I really did not like was when Ron walk out on them.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 09:50:45

OMG!!! I totally cried that night and its already 1 year since the release of Deathly Hallows! *sigh* Well we still have three more movies and a theam park. Oh and the encycolpedia!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 09:52:28

I think I am going to cry...

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 09:52:46

holy cow a year!!!!! thats crazy me and my friends went to the theatre to watch ootp again before we went to the party at barnes and noble for the book release. its so boring now not having any hp to read but it was a great end to the series

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 09:55:45

I cant believe its been a year! I remember this day perfectly! My cousin and I were at camp, mad because we couldnt go to the release party... We stayed up until midnight and talked about the book... The next day it seemed like every counselor had a copy of DH and Eva and I were plotting how to steal one from a counselor. We were desperate to get a copy, because we thought we werent going to get to read it until after camp and our Hawaii trip. Boy were we wrong! My dad got us out of camp early and before we left, he handed me a box. It was a medium sized box with red writing on it that said: Year 7 Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows J.K. Rowling On-Sale/ Street Date July 21, 2007. DO NOT OPEN BEFORE JULY 21, 2007! I opened it slowly, and on the bottom was a copy of Deathly Hallows. I still have the box... I started crying when I saw the box and sobbing when I touched the book for the first time. In a way, that was the best release party Ive ever experienced. I still cant believe its been a whole year. Wow. And the series... Why did it have to end? It was honestly the best thing Ive ever experienced. Being part of a fandom. Being happy and excited over a series. There has to be more books! J.K. Rowling cant just stop writing about the world of Harry Potter! Surely therell be more! A continuation! About Albus Severus! Or a prequel series! About James, Lupin, and Sirius! There has to be! :)

Hi, My name is Jessie Pounds and I am a reporter with the Knoxville News Sentinel in Knoxville, Tennessee. I am working on a story for the newspaper with the premise of taking a look at what hard core Harry Potter book fans are doing a year after a release of the final tome. Feeling depressed about no more Harry Potter books? Listening to Wizard Rock? Joining the HP alliance? Im not sure the rest of the world has any idea what all is going on. I am especially interested in talking to fans from the East Tennessee area. If you are a big Harry Potter fan living in East Tennessee or could put me in touch with someone who is, Id appreciate your help. My deadline is Thursday, so that doesnt give me much time. Send me an e-mail at poundsj@knoxnews.com or call me at either 865-342-6414 (work phone) during the day or 865-771-2298 (cell) in the evening.

This makes me so incredibly sad. Just another reminder that were not going to have another book.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 10:05:36

wow a year. id be reading at the moment.. realizing its daylight its not 2:30am anymore.. haha i read DH from 2:30am till 8;30pm non stop. i cried when i was done.. i didnt want it to be over. i still dont.. we only have the movies now and they arent that great... well we have HP land as well... that should be awesome.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 10:06:14

Wow! Its funny because I got my grandma into the books this year and she is finishing up Deathly Hallows today! We actually had a discussion last night about DH. She said Dobbys death was a tough one for her and she felt bad for Snape, and was relieved when Ron and Hermione finally got together. Aww, so many memories brought on. Thank you JK Rowling!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 10:11:22

OMG! I cant believe its been a year!!!!!! I think I actually might cry. I was beyond angry that I wasnt one of the people at the midnight release cause my parents wouldnt take me to it. :( But i did read the book in like seven days. I took so long only because i wanted to pace myself and i tried to let it last as long as I could. But the seventh book isnt the end of Harry Potter. We have three more movies, a theme park, an encyclopedia, maybe more prequels, and maybe a musical that andrew will star in! hahahahahaha. I LOVE HARRY POTTER AND J.K. ROWLING!! Thank you Jo for helping me love reading and helping me believe that anything is possible!!!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 10:12:25

I can remember that day so completely. I wish we could go back a year, instead of having to reminisce about how great that book was.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 10:15:49

I woke this morning and remembered that its a year today... I was in AZ on vacation at the time (I was a few days ahead or behind whenever MuggleCast stopped somewhere) and I was under the impression that I would have to wait until we got to Vegas to get the book (it was a podunk little town). I woke up that morning and had to avoid watching the news, Im sure everyone remembers the hype. I buried my head in MuggleNets book and got ready to go to the Grand Canyon. My mom said she needed something from the store so we stopped off at a local grocery store and she and my bro went in only to come out some 10 mns later with the book in a bag. I had to read sporadically throughout the day but I finished in the car on the way to Vegas the next day (only reading it for a total of like 7 1/2 hrs). I was a complete mess! I cant believe its been a year... wow

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 10:16:10

At 12 last night i was like, mom last year at this time we were at Barnes and Noble :(.. It makes me soo sad! I was a late Harry Potter bloomer. I was in 1st grade when my mom read the 1st and 2nd books to me and my brother. But being so young i never fallowed it as my older brother began to read on his own. 5 years later the 6th book came out and my brother went to go get it at B and N. I sat in the car, thinking how stupid the books were. But then I heard that Dumbledore died and i asked my brother if it was true. He refused to tell me and said I had to read all of them to see for myself. That summer was probably one of the best of my live. I spent countless hours up late reading all of the books and talking about harry potter, and began to truly love reading. This meant that I only anticipated for one book, DH. And I only got to live that excitement 1 time. As much as that saddens me Im happy that I did finally discover the HP books, because without them I wouldnt have made so many friends, read so many good books, and have my grade improve so much.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 10:17:27

I kept waking up last night and remembering where i was in the book at what ever time it was... Sniffle... and my borders messed up the relese pretty badly... wish id gone to the big ones in NYC, but thats life i guess and it happened the way it happened! and then Harry Potter died to me. I mean the community here and stuff... I wish theres a way to rebuild, but there isnt and there wont be unless JK writes another book...

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 10:17:48

This makes me inexplicably sad. I will always love Harry Potter. That can never change, ever. The very prospect terrifies me. I definitely cant believe its been an entire year since I un-braided, cut, and melted (straightened) my old Repunzel wig so that my friend could dress up as Luna for the release party.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 10:20:27

I cant believe one year has already passed I remember the two sleepless nights I had after buying my DH copy. Im so happy for DH fans and for Jo and Mugglenet because this has been a great year that I have enjoyed deeply...Love you guys HAPP 1 year annyversary DEATHLY HALLOWS

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 10:20:33

So many good things to remember...I do recall being furious with my father because he finished it before me. We each had our copies, of course. The midnight release was fun because I attended it with an old friend I hadnt seen for a year before (and havent seen since). The book itself was great, although I was astounded by Hermiones quick thinking in so many tight spots! She really came into her own! The camping trip bit was too long and the epilogue was the worst thing Ive ever read, but other than that, DH was a wonderful wrap-up to an eight-year obsession. : )

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 10:22:44

WHEN IS EPILOUGE DAY? SEPTEMBER 1ST OF WHAT YEAR?

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 10:23:51

I cant believe its been a year. Right now, its 10:30AM...about the time I finished the book. So exactly a year ago I was crying my eyes out that it was all over. I remember waiting in line from 9:30AM until midnight to get the book. It was so bittersweet.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 10:24:15

The entire Harry Potter series is an amazing, intricate, richly textured saga and Deathly Hallows was its fitting end. So many great scenes: I love Dobby saving them all at Malfoy Manor. I love Harry digging Dobbys grave without magic and carving on his tombstone, "Here Lies Dobby, A Free Elf." I love Narcissa Malfoy bending over Harrys supposedly dead body and asking about Draco, proving that she cared more about her son than about serving Voldemort. I love Molly Weasley protecting her daughter and avenging Sirius by killing Bellatrix. I love the house elves joining in on the battle. I love Neville destroying the final Horcrux by cutting off Naginis head. The epilogue was perfect: I love that Harry, Ron, and Hermione are now officially related, tied together forever by their children, who are cousins. I love that after all the horrible feelings that had occurred between Harry and Snape, Harry named his son after him in recognition that Snape, however cruel towards Harry, was "the bravest man I ever knew." I love finding out that Neville--poor, bumbling, forgetful Neville--is now a Professor at Hogwarts. I love that the grown-up versions of Harry, Ginny, Ron, and Hermione still maintain the qualities that distinguished them as children. I feel as if I have journeyed a lifetime with these characters and shared their fears, their joys, their love, their frustrations, and their triumphs. These books are truly classics which will forever be treasured by children and adults alike.

One year ago, at approximately 6 pm, I got off a plane and went to my friends house, where for my birthday they gave me the seventh book. I read until two in the morning before falling asleep and finishing in the morning. A year ago, I had thought snape was evil and the thought of Harry potter being a horcrux was absurd. I thought that Hagrid and George would die. I thought there was a horcrux hidden in hogwarts. I thought Ginny would join the trio. So many theories...

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 10:26:23

C: Its my birthday. It was so cool, because I turned 13 the day DH came out. It was sort of like I grew up with Harry Potter- like the day he became an adult and stopped being a kid, I felt that way. So it was pretty cool. And I went dressed as Luna. C:

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 10:27:17

I think its in 2016, but Im not sure..

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 10:27:24

Wow. A whole year since DH!! This was the first book I got at midnight, too. So many good memories.... And Fia: wouldnt the epilogue have taken place in 2016 or 2017? DH was in 1997-1998, so add 19 years...

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 10:31:46

i think i could cry.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 10:32:24

I thought she made it so the epilogue was in 2007...but whatever. Anyway, I love Harry Potter! DH was amazing! Im so sad its over....

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 10:34:05

The epilogue is 2017. And I luffed the epilogue. It didnt explain much, but its better that way, more room to imagine and write fanficiton on ^^

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 10:34:32

I remember it like it was yesterday. It was my birthday, and my parents told me that I couldnt go to any midnight parties because i went to go see OOTP at midnight. But my grandma (Also a Harry Potter fan) came by my house at arould 10p.m. and took me. I was back before my parents even woke up. I read it in about 2 days. I wish i would have read it over a greater amount of time, so that it would be longer before Harry Potter ended for me. Ah well. There is still the movies HBP and DH 1 & 2 though!!!! Thanks Jo, you were the one that opened the door to reading for me, so Harry Potter will always live on!!!!!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 10:39:19

Oh and i turned 14 when it came out, just so you know in case any of you were wondering why my parents wouldnt let me go.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 10:43:59

Exactly one year ago today, I didnt know how much I would miss Harry Potter when it was done. I was too focused on taking it all in. Shame I read it so fast.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 10:45:40

WOW - I will never forget that night :D My friend Rhea and I went to the event at Borders in Fforestfach (Its in South Wales, UK). It was great to be able to dress up in costumes and not feel like the odd one out, because everyone was doing it!! We both got to hold owls, drink butterbeer and as for the moment when they brought the books out? From what was an orderly queue suddenly turned into a massive free-for-all. People were clambering over each other to get the book. LITERALLY. I remember being so paranoid that someone would read the ending out loud, I was preparing to have to tackle the offending person to the ground! :D Thankfully that didnt happen - but I so would have. Seriously. But what makes this book so memorable, is because its the first book ive ever sobbed over. Not just cried - sobbed as if my heart would break, when Harry realises he has to die. You all know what I mean!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 10:45:50

But on the family tree it says Fred died in 1997, so wouldnt 19 years later be 2016 then?

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 10:48:07

@evanna11: really? wheres the tree?

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 10:49:16

I havent recovered yet. I am rewatching all the dvds.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 10:56:12

One year since my life ended. How i miss Harry:(

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 10:56:17

Wow, I seriously cannot believe its been a year. The DH release is so crystal clear in my mine it doesnt seem like it is so far away. I remember when I finally got the book, how weird I felt. I was bubbling with excitement but at the same time felt sad and anxious because I knew it would be over soon. I was at the bookstore when I got my copy a few days ago and when it hit me that the year mark was coming it was such an odd feeling. But I also loved DH so, so much so this is the anniversary of a wonderful and great thing.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 10:58:14

I just sit smiling while I read everyones experiences on year ago. If I could go back to any day of my life, I think July 20 2007 would be it. The anticipation and waiting was no doubt the best part of the release! I was queuing outside Waterstones in London for about 10 hours, and I also went to the Mugglecast live show after having spoken to both Andrew, Jamie and Kevin so I could get a ticket. I miss that day soooooooo much! I was going to say "you have no idea", but that obviously wouldnt be the truth... =)

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 11:06:08

I brought my 3 year old daughter and my 10 day old son to the book release party. I dressed my son up as a baby Harry Potter with glasses I bought from a build a bear store. We were there until about 12:15- the line went so quickly! I rushed them out of the store and into the car before I could hear anyone shouting outside about the ending. I spent the next 3 days reading the book when my kids were sleeping. Spoilers: When Hedwig died I cried because I knew this book was different. I cried when Dobby was buried...a free elf. My husband makes fun of me still for that one. And I cried when Harry walked through the woods to meet his fate with his family by his side. I didnt cry at the end though....I kind of wish more people had died. Also, I wish Neville had done more with Bellatrix, but I was so happy for him doing in Nagini!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 11:07:40

Wow! I cant believe its been already a year. I remember I came home from a vacation in Mexico on the 20th. I went immediately to Barnes and Noble from the airport to wait in line for the book! Best book ever! ( except for the epilogue)

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 11:08:05

@ClosetPotterFan: your post reminded me of something. What do you people think on what the next generation will think of HP?

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 11:08:56

I really, really, really miss it!!! Im so sad that it has ended!! I loved it though. It was such a joy to read between tears!! But I loved it never the less!! Jo, thank you for everything!!!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 11:11:26

Man, its been an entire year. Im going to celebrate by reading my favourite chapters in Deathly Hallows. She ended the book on a great note. When I woke up this morning, I got kind of a nostalgic feeling. Its over, there wont be any more Harry Potter books. Thank you Jo for sharing your wonderful World of Harry Potter with us. On behalf of all Snape fans, thank you for molding and creating Severus Snape, the greatest literary Character in recent history. Ok, I know the books arent about Snape, but without him, the books wouldnt be the same. Kudos to Jo. We raise our glasses for you.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 11:12:50

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 11:24:32

ah! i remember the event in oak park. it was such a great time. emerson and ben explaining there theories to us, and all the kids asking the questions. like the one kid who was like "i didnt read hbp. can u tell me what happens?" and the kid was like 11 and everyone was booing him! ben was like "dumbledore dies. thats all u need to know." lol amazing. then getting the book in the mail was beautiful. i ran to my room and my mom was like "ok have fun reading see ya in a few hours." lol. staying up reading it, screaming and crying when characters died. then listening to mugglecast when i was done reading. so today is also one year since i began listening to mugglecast! so thanks mugglecast, and thank you JK Rowling for creating the best book in the entire world!! :-D !!!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 11:26:39

A year ago today I was staying up through the wee hours of the night reading one of my all time favorite books. I remember how I got to the bookstore at three o

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 11:28:20

i remember it like it was yesterday, i was the 48th person in the store to get my book, and the second i got it i ran out of the store and across the street in fear of someone yelling out the ending. i re the book in 16 hours flat, and cried thru more then half. joe, you created the best thing that ever happened to not only me, but everyone, all your fans. i really think i could cry right now. harry potter forever!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 11:28:22

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 11:31:18

@evanna11: Huh, your right. The only problem would be if the math was wrong (which its been before) but I guess it is 2016, unless 19 years is vaguer then we think.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 11:32:46

Happy birthday hedwig7942! My birthday is tomorrow and last year was by far the most bittersweet birthday Id ever had .

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 11:33:13

Wow! Its been a year already? Ive read the book four times in that year! My older sister and I took my kids to the book event at the mall at Borders, and I was kind of let down by that. They didnt have much going on, just a lively debate about Snape being loyal or evil. I was rather disappointed in that, and wished we had gone to the bigger bookstore. Oh, well. I dressed up as Trelawney and my daughter was Bellatrix, and there was a Luna there at the event, as well as many other characters.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 11:36:35

I feel TERRIBLE i didnt realize this last night. . . maybe because i want to stay in denial about the whole thing being over. I have been reading Harry Potter since i was eight years old, and now im 17 going on 18. I sit here reading how many times people have read DH and i have to say dissapointedly i have read it one time. . . each other HP book i read 16 times, but DH i only read once, because to be honest i really didnt want it to be over, i havent been able to read it again. I was emotionally disturbed over the final book, because when i finished it i realized how long i had been reading HP, and how much had happened to me during that time, i mean a span of ten years is quite a long time. And i keep thinking ten years from then (I being sixteen going on seventeen) ill be twenty six, which is how old my mom was when i was born, which is scary in my mind. But now that i realize it has been a year, i think i might go pick up my DH book, it seems fitting. And besides a year later, not a whole lot has changed. . . so maybe its not so scary growing up. . . What i also find interesting is that a few days ago i went to order my Breaking Dawn (good book series, but not anything near HP), and i just thought there is no way this will be as great as last year, but i need something to fill that void.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 11:48:16

I remember that day as though it was yesterday. I woke up on July 20th jumping up and down saying, "The last Harry Potter book is coming out today!" There was a sense of excitement as to how JK Rowling would end the series and sadness because it was finally coming to an end. I remember rushing to Barnes & Noble hoping to be first in line. I realized that I was first in line and was thrilled because I could have the book in my hands at midnight. The hours past at the Midnight Release party and people started their countdowns. It felt as though everyone screamed in unison, "5, 4, 3, 2, 1!" The bookstore manager finally told me I could buy my book and I ran to the register. I held the book in my hands at midnight and thought, "Wow, it really is the end." I walked out of the bookstore and took pictures with my sisters and friends with each our own book in our hands. When I got home, I opened the last book and began to tear at JK Rowlings dedication. "To you, if you have stuck with Harry until the very end." I finished Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows later on and thought, "Thank you JK Rowling for writing the Harry Potter series and giving me some of the best memories of my life!"

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 11:53:26

I knew there was something significant about todays date! I woke up like "July 21... July 21... why does that ring an important bell..." Then I went on mugglenet.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 11:54:28

Wow.... A year ago I was across the country and bought the only english book in an all french town, HP7. I took it to the beach and sat, reading it. I really should have put on sunscreen because after 6 hours of reading, sans sunscreen, I was red as a Gryffindor flag. It pained me for over a week but I was full of excitement to have read the last HP book. P.S. THE EPILOGUE WAS CRAP! I intend to ignore it forever.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 11:58:21

Golly gee, I`m getting tears in my eyes! :( Anyway, I ordered my book through Amazon, so it came a LONG way after midnight. My biggest regret of my life: never attending a midnight party, since I started reading HP in November of 2006. Now I will never know how it feels like to wait for a book at 12. :[ I remember reading DH for 12 hours non-stop and living off Krunchers chips. ( LOL; They were super good btw.) My parents got super worried about me the next day when I was still reading. Lol. I didnt bother to explain why I disappeared and never showed up to eat. XD I finished at 6:30 P.M. on July 22nd. I went on the computer & went to the HP sites. I was so weird though, I just walked through the house thinking "Oh my gosh. I just finished the last book." I remember crying my EYES out when Voldy hit Harry with the killing curse. My sister came in and asked me why I was crying & I told her these exact words: I think Harry died. I cant believe a year has passed. Ive gotten even more involved in the wizarding world. :) Ahhhh! I seriously have no idea what Id do without HP. Peace, Love, Potter, Weasley, Granger ♥

Its been a whole year.... I loved the book, even the epilogue! It makes me sad to think that well never have the experience of opening up a brand new Harry Potter story or get to theorize what will happen in the next book, but I am always going to be happy that I got to live through the time when us fans actually got to do that. I mean, we got to experience waiting for each book, going to get the new books at midnight, getting to go see the new movies... no one else will ever get to do that. Its all thanks to Mrs. Rowling... Thank you, Jo! =]

*crying* boo hoo hoo. I can not beleive its already benn a year!! Its just very sad knowing that well never go to anymore lauch parties, sitting up for hours reading the books, talking to our friends theorizing about what will happen next. I still read the books but I miss new Potter so much. Potter changed my life drastically for the better. I will always re-read and remember how they touched me. My kids will have to read them time after time. LONG LIVE HARRY POTTER AND JKR!!!

I love how much everyone has to say, just look at the size of these comments! I was hiking in Switzerland on a ten day trip the day it came out and unable to get the book. I actually cried myself to sleep, but they day I got home, I was so happy!!!!!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 12:09:54

@tiassa: would you be so kind as to do a bit of mathmatics then?

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 12:10:18

Well well well, one whole year has passed! I can remember the excitement of buying my copy, twas one of the best days of my life (I know, I know I am an HP nut! Read all the books countless times). It did take me about 2 days to finish it, solid reading. I literally lost my voice from lack of use and my mum was pretty miffed that I had ignored her for an entire weekend, but it was so worth it. I loved every second of the book, cried when Dobby died! Was so relieved that Snape was indeed a good guy in the end (I certainly had my suspicions) and was thrilled with the Epilogue (just leave it alone now guys, it wasnt all that bad and was actually kind of sweet). Thanks Jo Rowling for the wonderful adventure of HP and I certainly hope theres more to look forward to from you! xxxx

no wonder i had a sudden urge to re-read all the books last week! right now im working on DH. ill never forget that day. i had to wait for my parents to come home from work so i could get it.. and while i was waiting, i was talking to my friend and they spoiled the snape/lily thing... good times.. good times...

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 12:12:43

I almost started crying at midnight... A year passed so fast!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 12:17:44

oh my gosh...i had no idea it was even getting close to a year! its gone by so fast. i went to the midnight release parties for ottp and hbp and they were awesome!! so much fun...both times i went with my fiancee and my daughter. for dh i was so excited! and then my fiancee made us late and at 11:45 we still werent at any party. so we didnt have time to go to the good release party and we ended up having to go to this disappointing bookstore in a mall that was close by just so i wouldnt miss the countdown. it was so not fun and then i had to wait almost an hour in line just to get the book, feeling like crying the whole time because i had missed the release party of the last ever harry potter book! the book of course, was amazing! but ive only read it once since then. i just started reading the whole series again but im still on ss so i have a ways to go. im just grasping to the hope that the scottish book will have a midnight release so that i can end on a good memory to make up for the last! HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEATHLY HALLOWS!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 12:18:16

im reading it tonight, so i can cry the whole time knowing its the end, i really cant face it. reading everyones comments is honeslty making me cry. like im crying right now. harry potter forever! i cant believe its been a yearr. =(

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 12:19:09

wow. a year? hahahi remember going to a party thing at midnight at the mall in Waldens. there was a bunch of my friends there but they really didnt understand the concept of my excitment so i hung out mostly with my sister, her fiance, his sister and my 6th grade teacher!!! good times. and the guy who gave me the book was dressed like dumbledore!!!! i even got a picture of him handing over the book!!! that was a great night! then i went out to breakfast with my family and another family of our friends. it was great and ill never forget it. :)

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 12:19:54

I cant wait to see what they say on MuggleCast later today! I was reading some of the comments and a few made me get teary-eyed. I have been reading HP since 1999, and just last night I was remembering how I got into the series. Aw... its just so sad! But a happy sad!

HpAlwaysN4ever wrote: "I get so upset though when I read about Twilight being "the next Harry Potter" and Stephenie Meyer being the next JK Rotwling. Im sorry, but Twilight is no where near as good as Harry Potter, and nobody can ever replace JK Rowling." I agree completely with you! How can people even THINK that S.M. could be as great as Jo? Thats ridiculous. I`m sorry, but Twilight will NEVER, EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER replace Harry Potter. Thats the stupidest thing Ive ever heard and will ever hear. HP is a classic, a legend, Ill be reading these books to be grandchildren! Twilight will be forgotten, but Harry Potter will still live when I`m six feet under. Period.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 12:22:58

and to keep my self from completely breaking down, i started reading the series to my little brother, im brain washing him ;) he loves them. i really cant believe its one year already. i really just wanna hug my book and cry. =(

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 12:31:50

hpninjaskills - I COMPLETELY AGREE! As much as I realllllllly do like the Twilight series, it makes me completely angry when people say that its better than Harry Potter. AHHHHHGGGG! I mean, look at this world JKR has created. SHE CREATED IT!!! Its an amazing world, with characters and stories that can never be duplicated. The Harry Potter series will always be in history as a phenonemon (sp?) that was just amazing. Honestly, I mean, when before HP did kids stay up all night to sit outside a bookstore for a book? And when before HP did kids stay up all night to read it? Maybe they did, but not on such a wide scale. The HP series, in my mind, will always be the best I have ever read, and I cannot wait until I have children to share the stories with.

annoying math explanantion(second time in 5 minutes because of my annoyying computer):Harry was born in 1980(according to other math explanantin done with the help of Nicks death day). Voldy attacked the potters on halloween when Harry was a year old meaning October 1981. The second chapter of PS starts with the words "nearly 10 had passed" since that halloween. the day is dudleys bday which in HBP we learn is either in June or Early July. Meaning 1991. That September(still 1991) Harry goes to hogwarts, he finishes the year in 1992. CoS ends 1993, PoA 1994, GoF 1995, OotP 1996, HBP 1997, DH 1998. This means Jo made two small math mistakes on her site(and on said family tree): Dumbledores death accured in 1997 and Freds in 1998. This math mistakes happened before. Jo said many times she was bad at math. This isnt new. Jo cant be good at anything and Im glad this is her small problem. She has other great qualities that can help her(and us) live without knowing math. (this is the point where I scream: I LOVE YOU JO). Battle of hogwarts 1998. 1998+19=2017. Epilogue Day September 1, 2017.

A year!!!! I cant believe it. I guess that means that its about time for another book *hint, hint* lol

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 12:34:42

OMG! I cant believe its been a year. I remember I went to the Borders Midnight Party. There was a huge debate about Snape Friend or Foe, and a guy said something that made me change my mind about Snape. I remember when I got the book, the first thing I did was smell it. New books smell so good! But I didnt even read it til the next day. I was so sad that it was all going to be over. I actually cried. Yeah, im a sap, but I did read the next day, and purposely read like two or three chapters to it could last. But then I couldnt help myself. I read like the last twenty chapters in two days. The seventh book is now my favorite tied with the third one. So amazing. I SOO LOVE HARRY POTTER!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 12:34:49

Im feeling super nostalgic right now due to the fact that a year ago, at this time (1:30PM) I finished reading Deathly Hallows. Oh. My. God.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 12:34:55

Deathly Hallows is a masterpiece and I truly hope the 2 movies will serve it justice. After seeing only the movies and not having read the books, I read book 6 & 7 after the 5th movie was released. Weird as it sounds, I couldnt wait until 2010 to find out the end, and Ive read 6 & 7 again and love them even more!! Ive hooked my 64 year old mom on the movies and my husband & I bought her Book 1 in Spanish so she can join us in our reading adventure!!! Ps: Dont be upset about the comparison with Twilight/Stephenie Meyer. Twilight is very good as is Stephenie Meyers writing, but OF COURSE, Harry Potter will stand the test of time and Deathly Hallows is the crowning achievement :-)

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 12:35:54

@ tiassa : muchos gracias. I thought it had to be a math mistake cause I was pretty sure it was 2017.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 12:35:54

I wasnt able to stay up for it - I had a 21st the next day and Im ten years old and Im living in a part of Ireland where nobody reads Harry Potter apart from me. )-: So I was in the shop very fast the next morning. I was actually in Dublin especially for it cuz none of the shops here ordered it in until about two days afterwards!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 12:37:51

I cant believe that it has been a year already!!! My, my how time flies. I remember that night so well. I was at our local mall where our Borders is located. Because I had been employed there, I was asked to come back to work and was the mistress of ceremonies (I was dressed up in my college graduation robe, black skirt and red/gold top!). We had costume contests, trivia wars, and tons of fun!!!! I remember we had a drawing for who would get to open and take the first book. A nine year old girl won and when she opened the box, pure joy was on her face!!!! The line was so long that it wrapped halfway around the mall!!!! I got my book around 2am and came home, read the first page, and fell asleep because I was soooo exhausted! I read for the next 2 days before I finished it. I was reading slow so I could savor every world. I wish I was on DH now it my reread of the series (a yearly visit I take to Hogwarts), but an only halfway through Order of the Phoenix...I look forward to reliving the memories that the seventh book brings to mine! Congrats JK for creating a story that links people of different generations and different countries together. You are to be commended....and I am anxiously awaiting word that you have finished the HP encyclopedia!!!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 12:37:57

OMG! Im so sad that the 21st of July caught me reading another book instead of Deathly Hallows. Strangely enough Ive been thinking all week that I was forgetting something important. And, bam, here it is! DH release anniversary. I remember the Midnight Party (the first and only from HP I would go to). I was with my cousins, one of them dressed up as Tonks, and me and my other cousin with HP shirts. And then my mom was there and my brother left to see Transformers with my uncle and other cousin cause they were bored. See, I remember everything! Also that last year I graduated from High School and thought that 2007 summer was the one I left my childhood behind: Harry and school. Now, Im entering my second year at college and still loving Jos work like the first day I got my hands on it. GO HARRY!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 12:39:48

you are very welcome, please help spread the correction. By the way the first time I wrote it, it had no grammer or spelling mistakes. but writing it twice was too much.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 12:47:34

man the thought of an entire year gone since DH came out is a bit frightning! i mean it makes me feel a bit old to tell u the truth! Deathly Hallows was like my gateway into the entire HP fandom! It got me into mugglenet, mugglecast, accio-potter, writting fan fic, and help me meet so many life long friends!! i cant believe it........*tear tear* and lol tiassa! lol! lov ya!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 12:56:19

2007 - the year of Harry (DH and Movie 5). My birthday present (July - me and Harry) was a gift card to Borders for the book and movie passes to take my son to see "Order of the Phoenix". As for the book, its probably my second favorite (after HBP) and after months of worry as to the fate of my favorite beloved character, Severus Snape, with novel 7 in hand I skimmed the table of contents and read "The Elder Wand" and "The Princes Tale", then read the whole book cover to cover over a span of 4 afternoons while I was taking a summer college course. Many thanks to JKR for her wonderful characters and world, and especially to the students in my high school English classes who encouraged this now 49-year old that its okay to read this "childrens book series".

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 12:59:28

A year!!! I remember when the book came out... It made me really depressed... especially the fact that there would be no more books... :( I cried a lot. But then I discovered Mugglenet and it wasnt as bad.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 13:13:11

it has really been a year. my god! this time last year, i was finishing up the book. i was probably in hysterics right about now. i love harry potter so very much, and that will not change, no matter how many years go by

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 13:41:11

*sigh*...I actually started getting a little teary eyed at midnight last night. I reread DH again at precisely midnight. :p Last year, I didnt get to go to any release parties, and I had to wait until noon to receive my book, because I had ordered it from Amazon online...-_- But, its just somewhat unreal to believe that its alreeady been a year...Harry Potter is possibly one of the best things that has happened to all of us, and I personally cant imagine myself without it. Lets hope that throughout the years, HPll be getting the same respect it deserves and that others will experience its magic as we all did. I know for a fact that HP will always have the best space on my bookshelf...

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 14:06:54

one year since i cried about hedwig..... and everything else that happened.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 14:08:34

The afternoon of July 21, 2007 I found myself at Barnes & Noble standing in a line outside in the blazing sun. I was the 14th person to receive a stamp on our inner forearm of a red star. I was told to come back any time prior to midnight, even 11:59 pm and I would be one of the first to receive DH. I arrived later that night at 10 pm, cased the place out and established where people would be herded to pre-line up according to your stamp and lingered in that area pretending to look at the books on the shelves. My heart thumping in my chest, I thought I was seeing my reflection as "Professor McGonagall" stood before me. It was announced those with red stars should gather round, it was almost midnight and I was up front. Five cashiers dressed as Dumbledore, Sprout, Harry, Trewlawney, Hermione with the Sorting Hat perched high above were ready. The excitement was unbearable, bringing everyone to a stand still. The book store became eerily quiet. The first five red stars were ushered to the cash registers by Hagrid. I could see behind Hermione the boxes under sheets (when did they bring those in?). Then, with one fell swoop the sheet was ripped off and the top box opened. I bought two. Within 5 minutes I was out the door to go home and open for the first time, DH. The creak of the cover, the smell of the new pages was intoxicating. Reading DH put me on a rollercoaster ride with my emotions, the saddest being Dobby. I cried for an hour straight (tears coming to my eyes now). I finished the book in two days. Later in the year, I went to Germany and bought the UK version of DH. I put it aside only to pick it up just recently. I read that one in two and a half days. Thank you Jo, thank you for allowing the rest of the world into your magnificent imagination. We, are the lucky ones.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 14:15:29

OMG cant believe it was a year! I remember every second of my (first) read..... *sighs*

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 14:19:47

Hey there Hannah! been a while hasnt it? i love your relese party though! mine was really boring and it took me 45 min to get my book! *Sigh* I loved Deathly Hallows to death though. I didnt stop till i finished. And on the night of the 19-20 I dreamed the Battle of Hogwarts EXACTLY as it was in the book... Wild eh?

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 14:23:17

Ah, yes. Its sure been quite a journey for us Harry Potter fans. People may call us crazy and tell us "Its just a book". But its more than that to us. Jo Rowling has presented us with "just a book" that gave reluctant readers the opportunity to love reading, and it worked. Its a miracle that more kids wish to stand in a line at midnight for a book than the latest killing game. The Harry Potter series will always live on. People may try to ban then. Some may not even like them. But it doesnt change the fact that this is probably the first fiction book in history to ever mean so much to kids and adults alike. I remember when I got MY copy. It took me a while to read, but after I was done, I was awed with a mixture of sadness, even though I know the pages arent closed on Harry Potter. Oooh, be back.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 14:29:29

i make it a point to listen to the CDs all in a row about once or twice a year. They still ingulf my days when I do this. The hallows book in particular is my favorite and am sad that there will be no more HP books to look forward to.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 14:30:23

I miss the release party so bad! That was the BEST day of my life! It makes me sad thinking about how theres not going to to be another release party :( But Im re-reading Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows today and its amazing as always :) HAPPY BIRTHDAY HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS :)

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 14:38:43

Hey christianaeg! Yes, it has been a while. I am happy to see HP fans still gather and share thoughts and information! I had a blast at the release party last year; B&N even set up stations throughout the store of various tasks, games and puzzles (like an HP bingo game, I remember something about potions, etc.) and when you have accomplished the task, you receive a grade. Once you go through all the classes, we went to teh Headmasters office and received a certificate stating we graduated. It was a lot of fun. HA! I was sitting outside for a moment when three students ran by. In true McGonagall fashion, I admonished them for being late and took 5 points away from their houses. They immediately stopped, apologized by saying "Sorry Professor McGonagall, but the Whomping Willow prevented us from getting here on time," Yeah, yeah, yeah....good times, good times! Love how you dreamt of the battle prior to reading it!!!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 14:38:56

Hey! thats Justin Barthas birthday. I have only read the book 16 time word for word! :( Not very good.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 14:53:46

Wow... I cant believe that its been a HOLE YEAR already! I mean, I remeber it like yesterday, I mean the FEELINGS I felt that day are still very much raw. I remember I had got the Harry Potter gift card with the attached book marker on it from Target. I remember that Id brought it justed ten days before the release, and I remember every time Id pass the picture of the Deathly Hollows where it show where the books was going to be. I"d wave at it as though I was seeing a friend. Then THE DAY CAME... I remember I was wearing DA shirt that I wore when I went to go see the fifth film. And I remember after I bought it... I just sat there in the car. Nothing much going through my head, and a rush of feelings just came... and I started to cry. My mum was driving back home, not really talking to me. Probably thinking I was overwhelmed or something, cuz I was. I was crying because it was... my first time that I actually had the pleasure of experiencing the feeling that the hole world was feeling on the release date. And I grow up with Harry, kinda. I was 8 when I read the first chapter of the first HP book that I never finished, only because I was a terrible reader. And anyway the first film was coming out and at the time I didnt think I had to finish it... boy was I wrong?! Anyway, Im fifteen now and the best years of my life was after 2005: when I read and finished my first HP book in a month. Which was the OOTP book. And the rest is history. I cought up with all the books... and then 07 came. Became a member of a book club ( which should really be a HP book club cuz all we do talk about Harry Potter and how other books and movies mimicked the HP books and films, huh...it a lot of fun). then I became an addicted on Mugglenet (still is one) but Im clean now (no she not). Drop in on all your discussions about the different characters, and whats to be expectede in the next book or films. After I got the book I felt like I was leaving h ...

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 15:12:28

Sorry if your having tough time reading my comment but my computer just froze and the only option I had was to put it out there. After I got the... felt like I was leaving the nest. Kinda like Harry was just different. I started thinking about what were gonna do after the books over... and the films are done...? Thats question still lingers in my head. I guess we move on with our lifes. But on till that day comes... Im enjoying what little I have lifted. YOU GUYZ HAVE BEEN GREAT, LUV YA. =)

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 15:14:20

Its like Ive been in a time warp. The phrase "it seemed like just yesterday" perfectly describes how I feel about the release of Deathly Hallows. I think the beauty of the whole thing was not just the actual release of the book but the anticipation leading up to it. It was the first year I had gone to an actual release party, and with my best friend at that, and it was literally an experience Ill remember and treasure forever. Oh, god, you should have seen us. After receiving the book we read together for a long time, and it was a really great experience Im glad to have shared with her. After she left I pretty much locked myself inside my house, and isolated myself from the outside world. No TV, no computer, no newspaper. I wouldnt talk to anyone on the telephone. I wasnt going to allow any chance of a spoiler reaching my ears. And when I finally finished after a little over two days, I came out changed. People had died, people I cared about. I had laughed and I had cried and I had lived alongside these characters for so long and when I came out it was over. But, as I have learned from HP, the ones we love never truly leave us, and I believe in that same way Harry Potter will never truly leave those who stay true to the fandom. And, like Christain from OBatR, I will keep on smiling from the times Ive had with them.

D: Im crying right now. This day is a sad day. In remembrance of that summer just waiting for the end. It finally came and it has been a year. Its depressing but the book minus the epilogue was amazing.. I still remember the party at borders, when it was about 11:50 and they brought out all the books.. I still remember how excited I was when they opened a box, pulled out the first book and held it up for everyone to see and everyone in the whole place went insane. I was one of the first people to buy it and I will never forget that day. It was the best/saddest day of my life and I love Harry Potter. LONG LIVE THE BOY WHO LIVED!!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 15:44:18

Wow, I cant believe its already been a year! That day was so amazing! I waited up all night, went to a party not quite halfway across the state, and had so much fun. I even made new friends. I nearly killed all my friends because they threatened to spoil it and tell me who dies! The whole day was crazy... my mom and I ended up getting lost and stuck in the woods on the way home. And then I somehow ended up with two copies cuz my best friend bought me one (I hid the one from midnight while he was there lol). This is way crazy but I also found out two weeks ago that my current boyfriend and I were at the same HBP party!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 15:51:08

wow. i cant believe its been a year since Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. im pretty darn sure i was reading this time, but im not sure which chapter. but anyways, when i was getting ready today, and i realized todays date. i stopped what i was doing and just thinking about it. sighs. its still the day i was dreading but couldnt wait for. but anyways, i guess Happy Anniversary Deathly Hallows! you were one of my favourites xD and thanks Jo. youre more than amazing

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 16:09:26

Its so sad...I cried last night thinking about it, and looking back on the past, the posts from July 2007, what we were all feeling...I cant believe its been a year. Theres just too much emotion to handle right now. I need Mugglecast...maybe they will make it better? I think of the nostalgia and how its not like that anymore and how its all in the past and I just want to die.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 16:09:31

One entire year since my first (and last) HP release party. One year since I started listening to HP podcasts, since I checked HP websites daily. Its been an amazing year. I am so thrilled that the fandom is continuing, that it will always continue.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 16:16:19

One year ago... it was the beginning of the end for me....

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 16:20:49

i cant believe its been a year. wow. i hope J.K. Rowling finishes a different kind of book soon, im dying for a good read. and honestly, i dont believe episode 154 is gonna come out today.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 16:48:09

I am lucky enough to live in Oak Park, so I was there the day of the release. The celebration the entire day leading up to the midnight release was just unreal. Having the mugglenet kids there discussing, as well as all the activities that were planned in the downtown area was so cool. Im so sad its over, it sucks that there will never be that sense of anticipation that I got from those midnight release parties, and the joy from reading the books in general. When it came out at Borders at midnight, it was the greatest feeling.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 17:38:19

wow to think that i have read this book 8-9 times this year

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 17:46:01

it was freaking awesome!!! i love the epilouge, i knew that would happen. my fav part was with harry and the lake and ron coming back! that was aweomeness!!!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 18:00:32

Its already been a year! WOW! I totally didnt expect Ginny and Harry to ever get married(at least through books 1-5). I actually cried when I got to the end of the book because there would be no more Harry Potter books.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 18:01:49

Happy Anniversary Deathly Hallows!!!!! Im sooo thrilled to be a part of the huge HP fandom and Im happy because I know the fandom will last for a long time! Deathly Hallows was my favorite book, even though so many people died D= Jo Rowling is the best author EVER!!!!!!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 18:01:55

Alas, a year goes by so quick... I celebrated the day with my friends at chamber music camp! I wore a weasley wizard wheezes shirt and my luna shoes and an awesome madame hooch hat. Everyone stared and I told them its been a year since DH came out, dont you remember? because it was there at camp with my friends where I read my book hidden in a corner... ah... i wont forget that! Okay-- off to see the movie trailers that i saved to watch for today. We are going to watch them with popcorn and in the pitch dark of our basement. ~Myrtle

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 18:03:15

Wow, I cant believe its been a year already! I attended the release party at my local Barnes and Noble. I didnt get into Harry Potter until after HBP was released, so the release party for Deathly Hallows was the only one I got to attend and I had so much fun. I read Deathly Hallows in 2 days. My eyes hurt so bad after I finished it but it was worth it! Deathly Hallows is my second favorite book in the series after POA.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 19:13:44

One whole year. Ive read the book quite a few times over the year. Its different for me everytime Ive read it too. Maybe Ill read it once more just for celebration purposes :D

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 20:25:20

omg i remember the day after the release ...going to the beach with my head in my book terrified that one of those little advertising planes would fly by with a banner behind it giving away the ending. haaha.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 21:02:29

Wow, I remember when the book came out. It was the summer I had just graduated from high school and my life as I knew it was changing and the world that I came to know and love so much came to an end. It was a really harsh blow, I was already facing enormous changes..... I cried when it came out then I cried when I read it. Severus....Im tearing up now.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 21:07:03

Oh God!! I still mark everything by when DH came out, and Im still kind of in a reading withdrawl. I cant make myself read like I used to because all that I want to read is HP. Im sad. Its been a year, I really should get on with life. The release brings back such great memories though!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 22:29:40

Wow, one whole year! I was there for the midnight release party, and it was so exciting standing in line with everyone eagerly anticipating DH. I was so happy to finally have the book, but so sad that the series was coming to an end because it has made such an impact on my life. I feel lucky to have grown up reading Harry Potter, and Im forever grateful to Jo Rowling for sharing her talent with us. She is truly an inspiration!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 22:42:36

WOW... I cant believe its been exactly one year since Deathly Hallows has been released. I have been dreading this day for the past couple of weeks because I dont want it to seem like it has been a long time since it has been released. I was about to cry when I received my copy and I cried when I finished reading it. but since then, I have reread it so many times, that now I feel like its not over, and thats how it really is...its not really over, and we will always appreciate the hard work that JK Rowling has done, and I thank her for that. THANK YOU JO, FOR I WOULD NOT HAVE THE LOVE FOR READING THAT I HAVE TO THIS DAY IF IT WERENT FOR HARRYS STORY.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-21 23:02:46

I can

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-22 00:55:31

omg. i cried once i finished i cried so hard and watching mugglecast now and them talikng about maybe ending it. im like getting all emotional... *sniff*

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-22 03:30:12

I cant believe how time just goes by so fast. What is so sad is that I only read Deathly Hallows once! I have been mourning for too long that I cant pick the book up! But I will.. Im actually hoping getting the audio tape for it.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-22 06:20:39

I remember i was so happy n excited on 21st july last year....but i was thinking that harry would die....but i did like the book and Im always going 2 be a harry potter fan!!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-22 09:08:00

Wow-cant believe its been a year. I couldnt wait to get home and start reading. But- I did the unthinkable and -peeked to the epilogue to see if Harry lived!! ( I know-- 30 lashes with a wet noodle) I just wished it wouldnt have skipped 19 years ahead and had a little bit of the courtship of Harry and Ginny-- /Ron and Hermione.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-22 10:02:56

Oh my God! Has it really been one year already? I remember that day more vividly than any other day of my life! Until ten oclock, time went by way too slowly, but when we finally went to the mall, It flew by. I stayed up till five oclock in the morning that day, but it still took me two days to read the whole thing. Thank you, J. K. Rowling, for giving my life a purpose!!!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-22 10:10:40

that day was amazing!!!! I was counting down for what seemed like an eternity, everyone thought I was overly obsessed!!!!! The midnight opening was incredible, I was never so excited racing into tesco when the queue was finally let in at midnight! I remember just holding the book and thinking oh my god this is it, both ecstatic and sad as it was the last one!!! I read it in a day, what an emotional rollercoaster, I went through tissues so fast! I have read it around 7 times now, its my favourite book ever and it will never lose its magic, Thank you so much JK Rowling!!!!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-22 10:46:28

DANNGGGG! A year!!! It cant have been a year, maybe a month...

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-22 11:25:54

Its hard to believe.... I had been looking forward to and dreading the release for so long that time just went all topsy-turvy when it finally came... I cried through about a third of the book and when I got it, and when I finished. I loved it!! And ummm Ill type more later.... so much more to say!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-22 11:51:43

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-22 12:07:40

Its hard to believe its already been a whole year. Ill never forget how fun it was going to the release party, running to my car before anyone could ruin the book, and reading through the final and best Harry Potter book.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-22 12:31:27

the best day ever..... long awaited, to see who would die, see ron and hermione finally get together (YES!!!) and, learn the thing that we didnt want, like freds death, WE MISS YOU FRED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-22 12:35:59

GREATEST BOOK OF ALL TIME!!! and this kinda makes me sad to realise i will not be able to re-live that night....after waiting so many years, it was so amasing to finally stay up all night and read the book, find out what happened, cry a lot and fall in love with the books even more than i thought humanly possible :)

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-22 12:37:17

I vowed that I would never read the books because I thought the hype would be incredibly overrated. I was working at B&N when DH came out and we had a HUGE dress-up release party that I was scheduled to work at. Halloween is my favorite holiday and I love to dress up so I bought some Slytherin robes to play along. I could not believe the excitement of all the fans, adults and kids alike! The evening was magical and infectious so I decided to give the books a try. I borrowed books 1-6 from my uber-fan dad (who dressed up as Hagrid that night) and bought book 7 and read all the books in under a week. I was hooked from the beginning and now these books are by far my favorite of all time so I bought the box set of hard covers. Im only sad that I missed out on the 10 years of excitement, but I still have the books to comfort me!!!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-22 12:50:28

GO HARRY POTTER! So whos going to Kings Cross on Epilogue Day, September 1, 2017? I am!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-22 15:34:53

i remember that day... i was on summer vacations, not even in America, and i had already prebought the book in Honduras, so i didnt buy another one while i was away. From the day the book was released, till the day i got back home, i restrained myself from watching TV and using the internet...thank God the book wasnt spoiled for me. I read the book the moment i got back home, i remember i almost dived for the book when i saw it lying over my bed =)

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-22 16:35:51

I started reading that thing the moment I walked out of the book store at 12:15, because the line was THAT long. Also managed to have it finished by 8am... still not sure how I did that.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-22 18:58:04

Wow, it really has been a year, hasnt it? I remember going to a release party and waiting an excruciatingly long 4 hours till midnight and the official release of the book. Soooooo worth the wait though! Best book in the series by far. Finally convinced me to get the HP tattoo I had been contemplating. Im rereading it to celebrate the one year anniversary. Thanks JKR for sharing Harrys amazing journey with us. Long live Harry Potter!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-23 00:08:17

Ok! Finally after one day of reading all of these comments before me, I can finally post my comment on this huge topic!!! I was too a late hp bloomer. The hp series started up when I was in fourth grade, but because of my mother not really getting into reading and helping me move towards the hp books, I gave up reading the series until the middle of sixth grade, when my grades were low. That Chrismas, my gradmother inturduced me to the hp series, and I again gave up, but because of my gradmother never giving up on reading and long and hard book, she told me to go into one of the bedrooms and read for one hour. She then would come into the room and announce for dinner and if, at that time, I didnt want to continue to read the first book, I could than stop, but if I wanted to continue to read the series and that lead to were I am right now. A proud hp fan!!! THo hp did also bring downs, as well as some ups and I would like to tell you all about those as well. Shortly after coming back to school, that same year. I grade changed and I started to really injoy reading, than ever before. I visited the school library more often and the librarians know me by my full name, but it seems that I would use more of my school time to look up hp internet info, than work on homework. Than High School had started and within the second half of freshman year, I noiced I would find myself, asking my mother to take me to school at 6am each morining. All of my schoolwork contined hp and I was know as the hp fan at school and at the public library. Then in my Junior year of school I had came so close to recieving my very first detansion and luck has it I got out of it, but I still had to serve my 10 day no computer use and belive me, that was not fun one bit, But the reason why I had gotten into trouble in the first place, was visiting a hp website during class hours. With was stupid to say the least!!! Now because of Hp, I love to read as well, but it seems(to be continued)...

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-23 00:40:54

That everytime I try to read another book, besides the hp series, I fail to read past the first chapter. Now I know this may sould werid, but I think that the hp fan is slowly but never the less draining though me. At my second hp midnight party for book seven I ready didnt care to read the book, as much as the other book in the series. I had finished books one though three, even before book four came out in stores and I still buy hp stuff from the stores, but nothing is really wow anymore for me!!! Am I lossing my cool??? Also I too was wondering what life would be like with out hp. If I could, I would change my path from the hp road to the other road, but I know for sure, without a dougt that I wouldnt like to read as much as I do right now, but what else would change in my life, if hp wasnt there??? My dad repeats over and over again that when my kids grow up all that they will care about is there world of tech and will just turn their backs on me when hearing over and over again about my hp life, but I know for a fact, that I will make sure to start my kids lifes with at least know the hp world. Starting them early will be help in the long rung of becoming hp fans of the furture. I am sure that each and every one of the hp fans today will continue the love of hp, even when the finally two movies come out in less than 3 years, give or take!!! As to Loonymudbloodgirl8 what book club are you in, because I to created a book club just less than three years ago and I was wondering what your group was all about. For your info, my group was created by me with the help of the library because of hp freck like me and since the group has started the group has done well. The first year and a half was all about hp, but the group wanted to continue the meeting, but there was no more hp to talk about so the group changed for just a hp fan club to a book club. The second book the group had read was the dragon and the wizard(book name unknown for right now) and

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-23 01:08:18

than the group had read the lord of the rings series, but didnt finish for the thought of the fourth book of the twight series coming up shortly had given the group a idea of reading that series instead, and I wount take part in the series!!! Sorry to go back to the hp book release but I had forgotten to tell you a couple more details of that day, days before and days after. Each year the park near me has a chairty event where all the money donated, is handed to the cause, but days before the event had started, I was helping out with set up and founding myself unable to get my head in the game as the high school musical team would say and was more thinking about the release of book seven. The night of the release, I was working at my regular job at the nearby store and at the park event. After that, my mother and I headed to the bookstore nearby and meet my friend there to have some hp fun!!! I had to wait until 1:30am to get my hands on the seventh book, but that didnt stop me from getting home and open the book to read, but I ended up tired and falling asleep. Now my friend know(by internet source what happened in book seven, but as a good friend would do, she never told me anything, but for me I couldnt wait to spoiler anything to anyone who ended up not being as far as me!!! I AM SOOOOOOOOOOO, MEAN!!! I ended up finishing the book within seven days!!! Nothing was spoiler for me, but for some people they ended up really mad, because I had found out that people were driving by the bookstore I was at that magic night and was shouting untrue, but to hp fan, facts that were at that time true and when I had seen that I was soooo glad I was inside the store. The store only holds so many people before some people have to wait!!! Also because of hp, I have decide to become a writer and I am not that back at writing either, besides all of the grammer and spelling mistakes that need to be fix. So in the long run I just wanted to say thanks to j.k. rowling

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-23 01:19:01

for everything from the start of the creation of hp to now!!! You have made a very big differene in some many people life I dont know how we can all thank you enough!!! Also to everyone reading this right now, it is now 1:16 in the morning and I am about to go to bed. I am sorry for such a long story of my life, but I wanted to fit every hp event of my life in this one topic space and just to forwarn you, if I did forget anything inportant. I will tell you later today. So goodnight to you all and happy reading!!!!!!!!!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-23 06:51:44

OMG thats hilarious!!!! The other day I kept thinking to myself "July 21st... WHY does that date sound so familiar? Am I missing someones birthday? Something happened last year..... Was it a party??" HARRY POTTER!!! How could I forget!!! HAHA thanks for reminding me mugglenet - it was the greatest day of my life - I shut myself in my room and didnt come out till I had that thing read from cover to cover! :-D

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-23 10:12:15

I cant believe it has been an entire year since the release of the last installment of the HP series. I started in the frenzy late, assuming that since I was an adult, I was just too old to get into the Harry Potter mania. I used to use one of my younger siblings as an excuse to go watch the movies in the theaters when they first started coming out. It wasnt until the beginning of last year that I started reading the books, and I devoured the words like a hungry kid in Ethiopia would a box of McNuggets. I couldnt put the books down! I dont think I got much sleep for about 5 months, as whenever I was not working, I was reading; I would read in the bathtub so late into the night that my husband would have to come and tell me to get out of the tub and into bed, so then I would read in bed with a flashlight after he had fallen asleep. I began to notice that I began making Harry Potter analogies in real life situations..."Oh, dont you wish you could just sectumspectra that guy?" or "Oh you mean like in Book 5 or Harry Potter?". My co-workers and friends started to think that I was a bit of a nutter, and so did my family. When book 7 came out, I tried to take a day off of work so that I could stay up all night and go down to the bookstore, costume and all, to pick up my copy of the book. However, my boss refused to give me the day off, so instead I purchased my book about a week later. I can say, out of this ebtire exciting experience with Harry Potter, my onlu regrets are that I never was able to go to any of the events, and I am sad that the epic is over. I wish I didnt waste so much time thinking I was too old for all of it! Thank you J.K. Rowling, I havent read anything better EVER in my life.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-23 10:30:03

I still cant forget that day.it was also the day i got my prize in the harry potter talent competition.i have always wanted to read the book on the release date itself but i had to wait for all the five books for a lot of time since i used to have these exams on july.but luckily last year the exams were postponed so i got the chance to join the harry potter competition. i dressed up like umbridge i performed realllllly well. AND I GOT THE Ist FIRST PRIZE.IT WAS HARRY POTTER AND THE DH. i was soooooo happy. i got the book on the release date itself.its been my greates prize, possessin ever.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-23 12:50:38

Remember your never to old to enjoy an prize winning book like the hp series!!! HELL, I would have been between the age of 27-28 years old, if the epilogue part of book seven came true. Now figure that one out!!!(Hint add 19 years starting from the end of book seven!!!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-23 18:45:08

I am finally writing more, like I said I would earlier!! Anyhow, my family and I were camping for vacation, so I was freaking out about the midnight release, since I knew that I HAD to get it at midnight and go to the party, since for HBP and OotP, I couldnt attend the parties, though I did get them at midnight. So, my dad called a bookstore in Asheville, NC, to reserve my copy, and my mom and I rode to Asheville from the tiny town of Brevard at around five-ish. It was a superfun party, and I got the rare opportunity to talk to fellow Harry Potter freaks like myself!! My 2 HP dork friends from my hometown in Florida and I kept calling each other and telling each other about the respective parties. The one I was at had a Starbucks, and they were selling AMAZING butterbeer just for that night. It was delicioso! Shout-out to everyone who was at the Barnes and Noble in Asheville, NC!! Good times.... and the great part is, plenty more are ahead!!! :)

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-23 23:10:06

How do you know there is plenty more ahead, when the book series is over and there is only two/three more movies, unless of course, you 2obsessed4u know something you arent tell other hp fans about!!! HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM MMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-07-24 18:40:58

I was very happy to shanghai my dad into taking me to the midnight release. Its was one of the best things ive ever done. Ill never forget it. I brought the precious book home, slept til like 6 am and then read the whole thing in two days. Then i read it again right after so i wouldnt miss anything. Good times.....
