After initially appearing on MSN over an hour before the trailer was supposed to premiere on AOL, we now have the teaser trailer online in all its glory. For those of you who have seen both the MSN and AOL trailers, you'll notice that the MSN one says that the film is coming "This Year" as opposed to "November" in the AOL one. The web addresses also differ... AOL says HarryPotter.com while MSN says HarryPotter.co.uk.

OMG, thank you Mugglenet for reporting this! I just watched the trailer, and honestly...it wasnt worth the wait. :-) It reminded me of a YouTube fan video. I dunno, I think the epic-ness of The Dark Knight has ruined my expectations for HBP.

It def looks like the attack on the Burrow features. Ginny in her dressing gown, running through fields, Ron poisoned, was that a growl you hear (possibly Greyback) and the scene with the fire ring looks amazing. I love the suble performance Michael plays through it too. This is the ONE film they have to really sell the relationship between Harry and Dumbledore and it looks good for now.

I thought the trailer was superb! We have focused on Harry Potter for the last 5 movies, and other than him the most pivotal character is Voldemort. His origin needs to be throughly explored just as Harrys was. He is just as important a character as Harry, and I thought the dialogue at the end between Harry and Dumbledore as to whether he knew that Riddle was destined to evil was flawless. Great teaser, just as good as the Dark Knight (which I also loved.) Young Tom Riddle was awesome, and I expect this movie to go back to its roots of being close to the books yet entertaining just as the first two Harry Potter movies.

DAVID YATES NAILED IT! It looks like a different movie altogether. The scene in the cornfield with Fenrir and Ginny looks spooooooky. The movie also seems to have a dreamy look. I love the fact that David Yates is being experimental with the movies. Hes not sticking to the same tone as Ootp. Hes taking OUTSTANDING risks. I cant wait for this movie!

Young Tom isnt just good, hes AMAZING!!! And Dumbledore describing the memories at the beginning actually sounds like Dumbledore! But young Riddle, is just... so great. His voice is very creepy, but at the same time quite appealing. Perfect casting.

If you listen carefully during the fields scene with Ginny you hear a growl. Im guessing thats Greyback, who will then injure Arthur, which was the subplot put in (apparently) in place of Bill. The performances were nice and suble and the direction of the scenes is darker and I like that. Im not about to jump around saying how amazing it was. It was good and got me excited, which a teaser should do.

Pretty good for a teaser trailer, I must say. I wish it didnt only show one scene, but I guess thats why its called a "teaser".
Pros: It looks JUST LIKE the book. Finally! I love when they get it right. Everyone seems really good...even Gambon, who I usually dislike.
Cons: I wish we could have actually seen something related to the title of the book...maybe a shot of the book or Snape? That ought to be in the real trailer though. (I hope!)

Oh my god! I thought it was insanely good! I like the fact that it centers around young Tom since the actor seems so perfect! I do think that Snape should have gotten a couple of seconds in it though, and they could have shown Hermione and Draco as well. But all in all I liked it, though not as much as the OotP-trailer. I dont really get the part with the field-running and the scene with Ginny.. Greyback looks scary though not as I had imagined him. Voldemort also look a bit scarier but that could be because they show him in a flash. Dumbledore in the fire looks great and Michael Gambon actually seems a bit softer this time around, so maybe he wont be all Dont you have some studying to do?! in this one.. We can at least hope so :)

its about time they get it out!! im not trying to complain too much, but this is kind of lame... they need to come out with something better than this i know they were busy with the dark knight, but personally i think harry potter is more important. also, since wb got 155 million $$ in the first day or week or whatever of the dark knight, they should have used the money rush to put more in it. you coulnt even see harry or hermionie and the best shot they could get of ron for the trailer was on the floor poisoned??? i agree with tonksthetiger its really annoying that almost the whole thing was in the orphanage and there should have been more harry/hermione/ron

Pretty good - interesting to watch a scene from the film in lieu of a trailer...
I liked it but also wish Snape had been in it, or a bit of the fight within Hogwarts or even a little bit of Draco.
And Im hoping that its a product of editing for the trailer - rather than editing/writing from the movie - but that memory is not the most important one that Dumbledore collects. Its the altered one from Slughorn that confirms his suspicion about Horcruxes.

whoa, Ive watched it about 50 times now. Love it! doesnt give to much away of everything that happens, which is great since it is a teaser trailer.
My biggest concern about HBP was that I needed to get an awesome young Tom and this kid is just perfect! Shills when he says "I can speak to snakes too"
The look of the orphanage is just amazing, cant wait for the movie!

The scene with the field running is when Belatrix and Greyback attack then on Christmas... therere not in the book..... Harry and Ginny scape to the field, and Belatrix and Greyback try to kill both.... When Greyback goes to Ginny, Harry jinx him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe in 7 it will be Lupin and Tonks wedding instead, since Bill and Fleur have never been introduced in the movies. that would actually make some twisted sort of Movie-making sense, and I love Lupin and Tonks so I hope Im right. I was really curious about the new scene at the Burrow, but--by the looks of this teaser--I think its going to add lots of intensity to the film. I know its only the beginning, but I really, truly, deeply think that this is going to be--by far--the best Harry Potter movie in the series. It has a "Classical" and "Epic" qualitiy that a few of the previous films were lacking.

I thought the trailer was pretty great. Sure it would have been nice to see some of other characters, but we know they will be in the film. This trailer focuses on what the main theme of the book was, the relationship between harry, dumbledore, and voldemort. I really like the tone that Yates has set with this film, I was worried it was going to be a bunch of ron/lavender/hermione silliness, sort of the calm before the Deathly Hallows storm, but it seems as if this film will include all the tones of the book.
Anyone else concerned that the trailer closed with "This Year" as opposed to 11/21/2008 like most trailers do? I hope this doesnt mean the film release date would be pushed back (what a shocker that would be with a 4 month delayed teaser trailer)

OMG!!! I had to watch the trailer 5 trillion times to get everything but I finally did. Amazing. At first glance it looks like they only show you the little Voldy aspect to the book but upon closer inspection theres so much more, Ginny running in her nightgown could have been the attack on Hogwarts by Draco since it happened at night, there was obviously Ron poisoned and then someone with a ring, which can only be the Gaunts ring, they couldnt show EVERYTHING of course, since its only a teaser, but by the looks of it, theyre making the movie that this book demands, and it was definately worth the wait just to know that. Bloody Brilliant.

I am effing pissed and I feel like I`m going to Avada Kedavra someones arse! Dumbledore`s death was spoiled for me too - by the same person! That trailer was the bomb! And it was freaking spoiled by one darn phonecall because I thought it was my sister calling!! I am seriously so pissed off. That was the best trailer ever! It was way to dark for me.& the movie isnt even suppose to be dark. This made it look like it was going to be a horror movie and it isnt. And it was completely focused around Voldemort. We didnt see anything about Severus or Draco or Hermione or Ron.
It was not what I had expected at all.Ill just say it-I am pissed and I am disappointed. I was expecting something else. On the flip side, I love the way little Tom Riddle is, and the ending audio was fantastic. It was just ok for me.

mattymoomus- Yeah I agree completely. I feel like its more of a spinoff like you said, rather than an actual harry potter trailer. I had pictured the trailer having scenes from Quidditch, potions class, dumbledore and harry, the castle fight, slughorn, stuff like that. Plus I thought it was wierd how that trailer was so dark and yet they keep saying how comical this movie is. Like you said, Im hoping theyll release another trailer with more of the movie in it. Granted little Voldy is a big part of the movie, but I dont understand why WB thought to make the entire trailer about just that. I cant make up my mind if I like it or not.

SlytherinBabe--Why do you say the movie isnt supposed to be dark? Compared to the previous books, this would be the darkest book so far. Theyre in the middle of a war and Voldy is slowly taking over the wizarding world.
Though I think they focus a bit too much on young Tom Riddle. I know its a big part of the story and all that, but really, theres so many other aspects of HBP than just the memories.
And I just really wanted to see the bridge fall down.. :D

Loved the trailer. If that was Mr. Fiennes nephew, it looked like he nailed the part. Half Blood Prince was about how it all started, so I guess they went with the telling Valdmorts side of the story. We already know Harrys side of the story. For those having troubline with AOL, go to MSN, thats what I had to do. If this was just a "teaser trailer", I wonder what a real trailer will be like. Awesome job people.

Finally a Harry Potter book will be done justice. This looks like its gonna be great. The way Harry and Dumbledore were talking at the very end just made it so much better, that was probably my favorite part and also young Tom.

As soon as i saw it, well i watched it again and again, but then i called up my closest friends who also love HP, screamed into the phone and told them the trailer was online. Even though it was only like a minute and 29 seconds, i still feel like the wait was worth it, my heart rate is so fast right now. Plus it was only the teaser and that means more on the way!!! i love how, when the wardrobe is set on fire, Tom Riddle has a slight smile. He is so creepy, its brilliant. And we see a hand sliding on a ring, Dumbledore and the Gaunts ring? They may have actually done a decent job =O and tbh, majority of the book is about Voldemorts past which is probably why they teaser was based around young tom riddle, and its something different in the movie. Weve seen the trio before, Tom Riddle we have not. It looks GOOD =D

Ok ive had a few thoughts from a few of your comments about the whole field ginny disarmed thing. Doesnt Greyback look like Lupin lol? If that is Greyback. Ooh, exciting stuff! But what I was going to say was remember a few weeks back when there was that interview with a magazine and all those photos "leaked"? Well didnt one of the Davids say that Ginny and Harry go to kiss when they are in the Burrow, but before they get anything going on, the death eaters come and invade the burrow? Well, there was a picture to go with it, and in the picture Ginny and Harry both had normal clothes on, so if the whole field scene in the trailer was when the burrow got attacked, then why would ginny go and put her dressing gown on? Since half blood prince wasnt one of my favourite books, Im actually really liking what the director is capturing and is still keeping the dark and brooding atmosphere...Love the camera shots and tone too.

Man...it wasnt what I was expecting. The movie looks scary as all hell based on this trailer, and that worries me. I want there to be a decent bit of focus on the happy moments in the movie.
Im at least glad they didnt show the Harry/Ginny kiss in this trailer like they plastered the Harry/Cho one all over last time. Its such a pivotal moment in the series, its one of those things you just SHOULD see in context the first time.

Wow the comments are fast and furious!! My favorite part was when they flashed forward from the orphanage to grown-up Voldemort! Something I found weird about this trailer is that there was no romance whatsoever and from what weve heard from the cast thats by FAR the main focus. Are they dramatizing this aspect a little?

about the burrow being attacked, it sure seems like they added a tad of book seven to this one bc i dont think that happened in hbp...
also, didnt the producer say that they could only add TWO or THREE memory scenes in the movie so that it wouldnt drag? and if this (the orphanage) was one of them and there is only one other, (presumably slughorns?) then that wouldnt be a very accurate portrayal of what the movie is actually going to be about.!!!
right now it looked more like a clip of one scene (riddle and dumbledore) than an actual trailer.. oh well it was still exciting but gotta admit i expected a bit more also..
and btw what is up with the island-in-the-cave being made out of huge chunks of ICE crystals?? WTF??

All the actors have said this is going to be the funniest film so far and that had me tiny bit worried that they werent going to keep in all the dark stuff from the books. But now Im definitely not worried because theyve clearly kept in the dark stuff and made it like 10 times better than I expected.
i cant wait to see some of the lighter stuff in the full trailer on Friday though!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Yay! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

the book is called harry potter and the half blood prince, not tom riddle and how he became an evil wizard .... like 2 seconds of harry and no snape..im not satisfied..they are totally trying to appeal to a different age group...this is the first trailer that focused on the evil and none of the good (harry and his peeps).

Yeah, I think there have beena couple people saying this didnt seem to be an accurate portrayal of what weve heard the movies focus is. I think they are totally selling this aspect for one group, and the other half of the full theatrical trailer, whenever that is, will be romance, appealing to a totally different group- and one that will seemingly walk away much more satisfied with the movie!

OH MY F-ING GOD!!!!!! It was epic, amazing, fantastic, so worth the wait (ok, maybe not) and I literally teared up. It looked SO dark and SO scary and SO grrrrr! It was everything a HP teaser trailer is supposed to be. It looked better than the other teaser trailers, so I have faith in WB that it WILL be amazing. RIGHT, WB? It better be, because that teaser so did NOT disappoint.

Wow! I really, really like it! And honestly people: Ist it just very positive that it only focused on Tom Riddles story? That means its the "true" story theyre telling, that they dont just create their own "bridges" to make everything hang together. I do have some complaints though: Since the book and film is titled "Half-Blood Prince", maaaaaybe it would be an idea to include Snape in the trailer? Juust saying. And: WHERE THE **** ARE DUMBLEDORES HALF-MOON GLASSES?!?!? Please, please, PLEASE, bring them back, WB! And speaking of Dumbledore, Michael Gambon is doing really good so far, the fire-scene looks amazing, his face looks exactly like the book-cover at one point! Great job! And the mini-Fiennes boy is perfect as child-Voldemort, perfect! Only thing in this trailer that made me laugh out lowd is in the end, when they re-use the clips from OTP with Voldemort, never liked those, and still dont. Voldemort just looks too silly in them. I wont get too exited, saying it will be the best movie yet, cause we have seen so little of it, but it looks promising!

I loved the trailer. Its better that they did focus on tom riddle. Who wouldnt be interested to see how this man came to be who hasnt read the books. And obviously the trailer wouldnt focus on snape since it would give away the title (Although it would have been nice to see rickman, but to maintain the consistency of this barely 2min trailer, it was better to tease voldemorts story to the viewers). It gives viewers the sense that these movies are mature by focusing on riddle. By the way...cant wait to see the cinematography.

oh my god. this movie looks like its gonna be the best. it seems like the way it was put together is much truer to the books and very adult. it is definitely not a "kid" movie anymore. the boy who plays tom is fantastic and the orphanage looks very dark and creepy. I cannot wait for the theatrical trailer, better yet the movie.

Ok so I saw the MSN one and was a little disappointed, but once I saw the AOL version in the higher quality and bigger size....WOW I was just blown away!! Young Tom Riddle is just creepy lol I love it!! I cant wait to see a longer trailer and the whole film! Its going to be INCREDIBLE!! I think I might dress up as Hermione, Ginny, or Luna for the premiere =)

The cinematography looks sooo cool. You can tell the new cinematographer added his touch to it because it looks amazing...And the soundtrack sounds so haunting...Nicholas Hooper/John Williams has done it again!!!!!
If you pause and read the names on some of the memory vials theyre actual characters from the books and they also have dates!!! I love all the details that they put in these films! And the pensieve looks bloody awesome!

Maybe when they post more trailers there will be pictures of the trio and Snape. This trailer was so intense. David Yates said that flashbacks slow down the thread of the movie. But, that was pretty much what the book was about. That, and what Draco was up to all year. I cant wait to see the whole movie!!!!

I liked it. Im not hyperventalating, I didnt get goosebumps, nor was that the best minute and thirty seconds of my life. It had a clear focus, and was not all over the place. Young Tom Riddle was perfect, with elements of defiance, curiosity, and creepy. They made it much more stylized than the last five, and not at all fit to please the audience. Sometimes trailers risk not getting a point across by showing random images of our favorite characters, but I completely understood what was going on, save the Ginny in a nightdress and the field. Michael Gambon made a lot less pathetic Dumbledore, and the dialogue at the end was brilliant. Good for a teaser trailer, but Im waiting for the theatrical trailer desperately.

ah, people. just because they didnt show any love scenes or Snape scenes in this trailer doesnt mean they wont be in the movie. book 6 was not my favorite book, but this trailer is just so exciting! The only thing Im worried about is that I thought the OOTP trailers were awesome, and then i was kind of dissappointed with the movie. Hopefully that wont happen this time!!

I thought this trailer was fantastic. After reading Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince recently, I felt as though the filming really captured the essence of the scene when Dumbledore first meets young Tom Riddle in the orphanage. It was taunting and makes you afraid of Toms capabilities. I think what some people need to realize after reading some of the comments is that it is only the teaser trailer. There is still more to see and yes, they are "teasing" us with bits from the movie so dont be too quick to judge. Thank god Michael Gambon removed that ridiculous hair band from his beard because we all know that is SO NOT DUMBLEDORE!

It seems the trailer was just to get people excited, it didnt show any other scenes really but it was pretty suspenseful. They still have a while to get out a more complete trailer thats more reflective of the entire movie, but imo this was pretty good.

While Im so happy to final see the trailer, and little Tom looks brilliant, Im wondering why most of the memory-bottles say "Thomas Marvolo Riddle" on the label. Last I checked it was just Tom. :/ Oh well, its a minor detail that shouldnt affect the movie too much. Im glad its finally here!

Tom Riddle is totally creepy, but I love it. And Dumbledore is pretty good, for once, though the one in my imagination will always pwn Micheal Gambon. Ron lying on the floor poisoned though! That was amazing, exactly how I imagined it! (when I was reading the book I thought he was going to die; I wonder if people who only see the movies will think the same as I did). And the music was good again, almost as good as when they had John Williams! The book was amazing, I hope the movie will do it justice this time. Ooooh, this is all so exciting...!!!!

I just found a story from MTV from February and it talked about an added scene for this book to demonstrate all the bad things happening in the outside world...hence the "attack on the Burrow". So yes, they fabricated a new scene to help emphasize things they had trouble incorporating into the movie. Ugh.

WOW that was amazing!!! This is definitely going to blow the others out of the water, that trailer is just... wow.
I dont want to go thru 300+ comments so Ill just ask here. Did anyone else catch the walls of Toms room are the same brick as the Ministry of Magic? I think theyre really trying to show a connection between these two people at such different points in life with that. Its so subtle, but we just saw their last encounter in OOTP, and now we see their first encounter here, and the setting is very similar. Bravo!

Yes! Excellent trailer- it practiced a little more subtlety than others of late. Im LOVING the little Tom Riddle- he was perfectly cast. The trailer DOES make the film appear Riddle-centric, which is a little concerning, but Im sure its for the intrigue of it all. They butchered the GoF and OotP so badly I refuse to see another one of the movies. the last 2 movies they could have split into 2 different movies. The Deathly Hallows did not need to be split. The ONLY way I would see either of the last movies is if they showed enough trailers to show they went more toward the books again. What was the deal with Ginny in her robe in a field?! And going by the movies, why is Dumbledore bothering to carry a wand, the movies show him using all kinds of magic without one. Guess he will decide it to be a good time to die at the end of the movie if he can do magic without a wand and still doesnt do anything on the tower.

Oh, as far as it being centered on Voldemort: Think about how complicated this story is. Now think of how to convey it to the general public. This was a way to tell everyone, "This film is about Voldemort, and GASP! DUMBLEDORE was the one who introduced him to magic!" For the people who havent read the books, that may come as a shock to see their exchange when Tom is still a child, and leave them not knowing what to expect (also wanting more). Im sure the full trailer will have much more scope. This IS the teaser, after all.

FINALLY...Now, Im satisfied. The trailer looks good. Young Tom Riddle is very creepy, and the orphanage scene looks very true to the book. I hope a future trailer shows Snape, seeing that hes the Half Blood Prince.
Strange...there was no Hermione in the trailer, was it? Only Harry, Dumbledore, Ron, and Ginny...and Voldy.
Now, I am really looking forward to the full trailer! =)

oh man. Every time I watch, its just as good as the first time I saw it. I love love love how the memory is shown. Probably running from the Death Eaters or trying to get to Ginny to save her from whoever disarmed her at the water.

At least I know that they are going to that scene pure justice. I really liked the movie. And Michael Gambdon isnt AS bad as I thought he would be but he still seems way too harsh for Dumbledore. Other than Dumbledore, the trailer was REALLY good. I cant wait for the actual trailer and Im glad Dumbledore seems a LITTLE more Dumbledorish (hehe I like how that sounds... dumbledorish...)

And guys, stop freaking out about the lack of other characters in teaser. It is a TEASER. And Im sure it was just for marketing strategy. If they show Hogwarts, Trio, Snape, ect like theyve done in ALL the other trailers what are non potter fans going to think? Theyll think its the exact same thing as all the other movies. Now atleast, we know that the movies are evolving.
By the way, does any one know why Dumbledore appears to be standing on a bunch of giant Crystals in the cave part?

The trailer was soooooooooo AWESOME! I WATCHED IT THREE TIMES ALREADY! NOW IMMA WATCH IT OVER AND OVER AGAIN. RUPERT AND DAN ARE SO SEXY! Barely got to see Emma/Hermione. I wish there was some romance in it, the book, and quittich! Then it would be more perfect in my eyes! But still it was really good. I really did like OOTP but i felt like it was too choopy. It needed to slow down. I hope that HBP will be much better. More expressive of feelings and love. I hope that they really make the happy scenes meaningful and the sad scenes very emotional enough to make us cry, but thats what David once said in an interview, so Im expecting it to be great. HBP was my fav book and so is DH! Cant wait for the movie now!

I am very impressed with Michaels acting as Dumbledore and the young tom riddle! Dumbledore is suppose to be more gentle but also strong and controlled with his emotions. I think dumbledore was portrayed the best in this movie! well it has to be the best since hes not in the last movie. sorry for anyone who didnt read DH if I spoiled it, but Im sure all of you have. by my earlier comment, by "the book" I meant the half blood prince book. They didnt really show where the title came from in the first place. This is the official trailer right? O_o

i would say the ginny in her night gown would be when its the attack on the burrow, but we saw that whole harry/ginny shoe lace tying picture and they said theyre about to kiss, but the death eaters come in and ruin everything..and in that picture it seemed daytime and ginny was wearing clothes, not a night gown..so IDK!

i thought the trailer was AMAZING! i really liked the focus of it. i really like how not to much of the story was revealed...they kept it really simple and mysterious. i still think the trailer for ootp was better. actually i thought the ootp trailer was better than the ootp movie. haha. but this trailer was really good to. even though i drove myself mad waiting so long for it...its all worth it because now i am so excited for the movie. it seems like its been ages since since any harry potter related anything has been released...i feel pretty satisfied right now. this summer seems so boring compared to last summer...what with ootp and the last book coming out and everything. all we have this summer is the hbp trailer. it makes me sad in a way. oh well..im going to watch the trailer another thousand times before i go to sleep. this movie is going to be epic!

Hmm, it certainly surpassed my expectations...I actually LIKED it. Unlike previous trailers (which seemed too scattered) I love how this one is entirely centered on one aspect that, in a way, captures the essence of the entire novel (well, movie in this case). Im actually somewhat looking forward to the movie now. Oh, and by the way, young Tom is perfect and Gambons portrayal of Dumbledore thus far is pretty good.

I confess myself...disappointed. I had to wait until now to see the trailer (I promised my sister Id watch it with her), and reading all of your comments made me really excited to see it. Now that I have, though, I dont feel how I would have thought I would feel. I thought Id feel really excited about the movie after watching this, but strangely I dont feel any more excited than I did before. Dont get me wrong, I do appreciate the artistry it took to make the trailer ---it did seem to capture the mysterious, dark aspect of HBP quite well--- but somehow something is missing from it for me. *shrugs*
Despite this, I still firmly believe that HBP will be amazing. I guess this just wasnt the right trailer for me.

This was freaking amazing! Loved the intro music and the frequent flashes between frames! Also loved the young Tom Riddle he was SO creepy and just SO perfect for the part and I especially loved the flash from young TR to present day TR - AMAZING! My only complaint is that if I recall correctly the young Dumbledore was supposed to have auburn hair not black..but thats only a little detail. I cant wait to see this movie! best trailer ever!

Of course, they didnt give to much away, I was definately looking for a longer trailer but after seeing how Yates has filmed HBP, I have nothing more to say. It was better then I have imagined when I first read HBP. When I first learnd that David is going to direct this movie, I was a bit worred about whether he will be able to do a good job... But after watching this teaser trailer, I am now sure that David Yates was the right and perfect man for the job.
Cant wait for the rest of the movie! Ohh! Man, this movie is going to rock!

It says in the set report that the attack on the Burrow should be a good start for the movie. So the kiss Ginny and Harry almost have, must be during the summer before school, because thier almost kiss is supposed to be enterupted by Death Eaters attacking. Which would explain why Ginny is in a robe and not in the clothes shes wearing in the picture of Yates, Harry, and herself that shows a CHRISTMAS tree in the backround.

Im sorry if I ruin this happy athmosphere of excitment but I didnt liked it.Well... Im disappointed whit that trailer. Ofcourse, there are great special effect and it all looks amaizing when I frist watch it but I felt that something is missing here... First, this kid who plays Voldemort. He is nothing like young Tom Riddle - he semeed to be frightened by Dumbledore. Then he speak in so flegmatic way... His "Prove it" doesnt sound so confidental like in the books. Ofcourse some of you probably say that this is the movie not the book and if you wnat the book then go read it but thats not the point. In my opinion if they want to film this book they should at least keep up whit details. I dont like this young Voldemort,- too flegmatic, too frightened, too... well, not-like-young-Voldemort- from-books. I dont like Dumbledore like this - hes nothing like Rowlings Dumbledore (just look at GoF movie - too much shouting, too much movements). Where is this famous suit? Where are his brown locks? Its not only about his looks but this vision.. his acting. In books Rowling shown great how Dumbledore changed through the converstation whit young Riddle - here I didnt see it. I didnt see.... Well, nevermind. It helpless to say that details are really important for the books - becouse if they change everything then least deatils such as clothes will stay the same - couse they wont listen fans anyway. This little trailer show exctaly what we get - forget the books, here come the Super-Changed HP MOvie whit cutted out most important plots in books.Yay! Be Happy! Geez, I dont like it... I think that before they start shooting 7 part they should sit down and think twice before theyll cut too many things.
And for this one - I liked music here:) Sounds like from some horrors movies:)

OMG!!!! FINALLY, FINALLY ITS HERE!!! it was bloody amazing, and the kid who does tom riddle is really good at playing the part, just sounded so creepy. cant wait till the movie!

Loved it! Defiantely worth staying up for otherwise I wouldnt have slept anyway. But I couldnt watch it on AOL, it wasnt very good quality for my laptop, so I watched it on youtube! It was bloody brilliant as Ron would say! They have certainly cast the right little Tom because he was dead creepy! I have watched the trailer over ten times now, and I noticed that thankfully they have put in Ron getting poisoned. And Ginny in her dressing gown? Well that was a bit of a mystery but Im thinking that maybe it is from the the part of the battle at Hogwarts when Dumbledore and Harry come back? LOVED THE TRAILER!!!!!! I cant wait I can wait I cant wait, I cant wait! I am so happy, I love you all!

*grins* finally it looks like we might just get a movie where very few details are left out, and about time too! those of us who are... repeated book readers often feel a sence of discapointment when we watch the movie the first time, then it grows on us, but we still know.... things are missing, maybe this will live up to potter fans expectations at last, great teaser, cant wait to see the movie!

WOW that was SOOOOOOO cool I cant wait until november!!! Course, it was only about five minutes long, but it was a long-anticipated and way-worth-it five minutes!! This is the first time Ive seen the young Voldemort actor and I think he did REALLY well!!! YAY IT WAS SO WORTH IT!!!

Half Blood Prince was one of my favorite of the book series. In November, fans of the books and films will get David Yates cinematic interpretation of the work. The trailer was very very good! Im pretty sure that ginny in the bathrobe was her at the burrow. I do wish i could have seen more of hermione but Young tom riddle is just perfect. Ralph fiennes(voldemort) nephew for those of you who didnt know. I cant wait till november and Im kind of interested to know when the theatrical trailer will be coming out! :]

Tom Riddle was perfect! A little boy that looks nice and innocent but those eyes, the face, no way is he sweet and innocent. He was delighted when he saw the fire magic.

I think that its a great TEASER trailer. Some of yall need to keep in mind that this is just the TEASER. I am sure the full trailer will include a lot more of the lighter side of the movie that the cast has been talking about. And honestly, do you really think they would have a trailer without the full trio in it??
and PS - I LOVE that they do a quick clip of Ginny...when they could have easily used an image of Hermione.. H/G love

As far as teaser trailers go, this one was great. They nailed the initial scene in Dumbledores office (btw, i agree with one of the comments posted above- one of the vials does look like it might have a symbol on it..the Deathly Hallows?). The orphanage was chilling, and young Tom was perfect. The field scene must be the inital add-on, and Im almost certain that man growling is Greyback. Ron poisoned, the Inferi scene, even the last line at the close...it is all pointing to the best movie for the fans yet. Now, we better not get ahead of ourselves- this IS WB, after all- but it looks like there will not be a lot left out of HBP, and were in for a hell of a movie. Now lets get the full length trailer!!!!!! ;)

Great, great teaser. Imagine if WB did decide to put this in imax in front of the dark knight...wouldve been amazing. For those complaining that it centres too much around young Tom, dont forget we dont get to see adult Voldemort in this movie so this will make up for his absence. To that person who wasnt happy with Tom seeming afraid of Dumbledore...duh! the only wizard he ever feared ring a bell? Now that theyve officially finished filming AND editing, theyll probably be working on the theatrical trailer! Wonder what the playing time will be? Hope its long

I totally agree with Sonka1 - You are all crazy if you think this is as amazing as you say it is!
Ill admit that its nice, for once, for the dialogue to be taken straight out of the books and into the correct characters mouth (Kloves has a bad habit of taking lines from one character and giving them to another which is bad because it messes with character motivation, development, personality, etc.) and Im happy that Dumbledore is more Dumbledore-ish than the past films.
But go back and read this book or even this scene and youll realize this misses the mark in terms of tone and motivation. Sonka1 is right - Riddle is not afraid of Dumbledore. Half his dialogue is IN ALL CAPS and he shouts at him. PROVE IT! TELL ME THE TRUTH! Etc. This Riddle is creepy, yes and thats fine but Voldemort, even young Tom Riddle, isnt creepy. Hes domineering and commanding and assertive. Hes not afraid of authority - he wants the control. He should be freaked out when all his worldly possessions go up in flames, doesnt just watch it happen because while he knows hes different, he doesnt know the rules of magic yet - how can he not be shocked by it (and he is in the book!)?
And keep in mind that theyve admitted that theres only 2 or 3 memory scenes. You best hope that Dumbledore does not introduce this scene as the most important hes collected. Because its not. In the American book, on 360 and 364 its stated that Slughorns memory is the most important. Dumbledore says it again when he reprimands Harry for not trying harder to get the unaltered memory.
Yes, the books are up for interpretation but it would be nice if they kept in some of those little details that requires little effort on their part but is still a nod to anyone whose read the book. What difference does it make if Dumbledores in the pin-stripped suit here or in the crushed purple velvet suit in the book? Virtually nothing - except it makes fans happy to notice they kept in a fun detail.

I agree with apwbdsgirl - they could have kept in some of the small things that make no difference to the moviemakers, but are nice little details that will make readers like the movie that much more. and the way they did the young Tom Riddle wasnt very good at all. But beyond that, I think that this movie will be very good and I am definitely looking forward to it.
