Scholastic's official website has a new interview with the actor who plays Draco Malfoy in the Potter films. In it, he speaks about the character of Draco, Tom's YouTube videos, and a lot more.
Scholastic: What's your opinion of Draco?
Tom: Not a very pleasant one, I assure you. I figure, I think of him as a misled only child who's been slightly bullied into his state of mind, if you will. But in long short, he is a nasty bit of work. A bit of a slimy, troublesome character who's not really up for any good and certainly the benefit of anyone else.
Scholastic: Well, my next question was going to be, "Do you think people misunderstand him?" But I guess you already answered that.
Tom: Well, I suppose, "yes" would be the answer. By the same token, he doesn't do a great job of trying to convince otherwise, does he?

I think Tom Felton seems like a smart acting, you know? Really researches and gets into his role (Note my SN if youre curious why I always make dumb comments about the actors lol).

So he said something about them keeping in the bathroom scene w/ draco (which I am HOPING IS THE SECTUMSEMPRA SCENE!!!!!) and the scene on the train w/ Harry...thats good news b/c it means they at least have a few more things from the book in the film...even if we do have to wait 11 months!!! grrrr WB :/

i always wondered if "feltbeats" was actually tom felton himself. now that i know its him,im happy :) his singing isnt that bad but he isnt great.i like his songs though. ;) i cant wait to see him stomp on harrys face! i like harry,dont get me wrong,but its just good to see that hes going to have for screen time in this movie...even if he is being a git :)

In this interview Draco looks human in a way, we can be in his shoes one day, I hope never be in that situation, but if I do I think the way my parents relate to me will help me to deal with the problem.

Yes the Sectumsempra scene is in. So is the train scene obviously. I think weve known about this for a while actually. Draco will have quite a bit of screen time from what Ive heard.

The next question that should be asked is, what does he think about the upcoming hp movie, being pushed back to 11 months from the do date??? In fact that should be a question that all hp actors and actresses, including J.K.Rowling herself, should be answering!!! Dont you think so???

I heard the movie release was pushed back because Daniel Radcliffe posed nude for a magazine!
You know, OOTP was the longest book in the series, but it was the shortest movie. The left a lot out as a result. I realize that something as complex as that book would be hard to rewrite as a screenplay, but I wish they tried a little harder.
The Sectumsempra is too important to the plot of HBP and DH, so it needs to be in.
BTW, great interview Tom! You do a great sinister part, and they definitely picked the right guy!

I felt quite sorry for Draco in HBP, even though he is a jerk ha! He had been put in a very difficult position and has been forced to become isolated from everybody else, he was literally scared and couldnt bring himself to do what he had to do, even though he thought he could. All this just to prevent from anything bad happening to himself and his family bless him. Im hoping they will give more scenes for Tom to do because it will be interesting to see him portray a more matured, grown-up Draco. The films dont really give Draco big parts so hopefully they will this time round.
And its good to see Tom do something different to what we usually see him do, and of course he enjoys it. Hes a great guitarist actually..

Omg I love him! Hes a good singer, and his lyrics are really cute. And hes v. talented on guitar, you have to admit! I love the one called Silhouettes in Sunsets. Plus hes sooo gorgeous! Completely opposite to Draco... really shows how good an actor he is to be able to convince everyone that hes a bad guy. Love him!!!!!!!!!!
