In an article reporting on how Entertainment Weekly posted their fall preview with Half-Blood Prince, The Canadian Press spoke with Dan Feldman, who is Head of Distribution at Warner Brothers. Feldman reveals the timeline of the decision: The studio had been mulling the date change for three or four weeks, "but it really didn't kind of get on the front-burner until sometime within the last seven days," Dan Fellman, Warner Bros. head of distribution, said Sunday. Entertainment Weekly's "deadline must have been earlier than the decision, than when we started to get serious about making the decision," Fellman said. WB's press release, revealing that Half-Blood Prince will be opening on July 17th, 2009, can be read right here.

is that the reason for the late trailer, I wonder? Why jnot a quicker announcement? Grr. I HATE WB!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 15:16:56

FIRST!!??!!!! and everyone needs to make our voices heard!!! sign the petition, participate in the howler campaign, and email WB reps TODAY!!!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 15:19:37

It still ticks me off.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 15:20:11

Guys, I hate this as much as anyone else, but you need to think sensibly. The petitions and hate mail are not going to work. Even if you had a hope of talking WB out of what they see as more profits (and it probably will be more profits), the spot is taken now by Twilight. It sucks, and you can boycott or rant on comments threads until the cows come home, but you need to get started accepting it.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 15:20:35

umm then why not say you were considering this...sounds more like they are trying to make an excuse for a effing bad decision i agree with ccunni continue the protest and hate!!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 15:20:36

Reason for the late trailer?? I gthink not. The trailer came out with a big NOVEMBER at the end. This was a last minute decision on WBs part, and now theyre trying to back track rather than face the consequences of a bad decision.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 15:20:49

Gaaaaah, I dont believe this. It was a split second thing. Idiots. HATE EM.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 15:21:29

I cant believe WB even considered it. You know what if they make us wait 8 months we should make them wait 8 months and 1 week so theyre opening weekend sucks! I totally hate WB right now. You think with that 3 to 4 weeks WB would be able to get off whatever they were smoking when they even made this decision.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 15:21:42

No its not going to work but it shows WB weve got guts and sprit and stuff.... but disorganized at all WB? grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 15:22:25

Ugh! Who was the jerk that called his colleagues saying YOU KNOW WHATS A GREAT IDEA THAT EVERYONELL LOVE! PUSHING HARRY POTTER 6, A HIGHLY ANTICIPATED MOVIE WITH MILLIONS OF FANS, TOO, I DUNNO A YEAR FROM NOW!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 15:23:50

they should have released it earlier if they wanted to make more money...like september or even october...those are good months too=)

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 15:24:00

i see ur point, txrabbit. warner bros are such money gluttons! First the DH split and now this (although 2 DH movies will be awesome). Theyre already rich enough.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 15:24:18

it was jeff robinov and i wish we had his email but i agree with christianaeg that we need to try even if it probably wont work. heres the info email in!!!!!! Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 15:25:23

That is absurd- if theyve been talking about it for weeks, why release the trailer? If what the Canadan Press says is true, they released the trailer knowing that the date it contained could change. Im sorry, but wheres the logic in that? Oh, Oh right- there isnt any. -fumes-

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 15:25:34

WB totally sucks! i cant believe that this announcement was a horrible decision because they sound like idiots who r jst trying to cover up a huge mistake!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 15:25:38

Im sick of people saying that petitions will not work. Are you saying 30k people are not going to change SOMETHING? Come on! Stop trying to get people to stop! How can you say they dont work, when it has worked so well in the past! If everyone had your mindset, then the things that have gotten changed WOULDNT have gotten changed.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 15:26:13

This excuse lacks any substance, and it will NEVER make up for the intense backlash WB is getting and WILL recieve. They are basically the most hated studio right now, and I have no sympathy for them and their scatter-brained descions. Join in on the "Send Howlers!" Campaign http://hbpnojul y.blogspot.com/ that is the site to follow through if you want to send WB a howler, we need to let them know this is an unfair descion!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 15:28:18

AnnaSmee, I dont think you get it. The deal is sealed. Its done. 600k people typing their names for an online petition couldnt change it.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 15:29:06

To those who go around saying the petitions wont work: That is not the point. Chances are, it wont given corporate America. But a company must be shown that its consumers are unhappy with some of their decisions, otherwise, they will just continue screwing over their base. Petitions did work back with the cancellation of the original Star Trek in the 60s. Gained the fans one more year, and then eventually endless films and TV series. I doubt WB will change their minds, but it doesnt mean one should not try. But do it properly and without the immature hatred, otherwise they wont respond. But sitting around and doing nothing? Well, thats how we got 8 years of Bush in America.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 15:30:40

Ohxgosh_itsxwhitnea: It might work. I dont care, Im boycotting, and Im not paying for anything that they sell. Even if they just move it to June Ill be slightly happy. They cant not do anything, or their company will be SCREWED to hell.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 15:32:14

I agree with ohxgosh_itsxwhitnea. You can swear, rant, tantrum, scream, boycott, and cry all they want, but they wont change it back. Im mad too, but Im sane.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 15:34:40

We can do anything to ANNOY them but this decision is certainly final. Twilights new release date makes it absolutely final. HBP will NEVER EVER, no matter what we do, go back to November. However, we can continue to annoy them and show them how angry we are.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 15:36:52

Im so mad....I would have easily waited for Twilight to come three weeks later for this to stay where it is. I saw the trailer in the movies and was jumping up and down with excitement...then I get home and find THIS

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 15:37:02

Chommy: It could be moved to December. That would be "better". InvisibleApa recium: Please dont insult the 30 thousand people by saying they are insane. No one is screaming, crying, or swearing. We have a right to petition. WB is stupid. They should know what they did was stupid.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 15:37:28

SIGN THE PETITION EVEN THO ITS ONLINE IT WILL STILL WORK WE JUST NEED ONE MILLION SIGNATURES. I KNOW THIS SEAMS LIKE ALOT BUT WE GOT ALMOST 30000 ON THE FIRST 3 DAYS !! WE CAN GET A MILLION IN TWO WEEKS IF WE KEEP DOING THIS !!!! WWW.PETITIONSPOT.COM/PETI TIONS/HARRYPOTTER6 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1111

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 15:39:10

Yea, it still ticks me off as much as the next person! But theres nothing we can do about it. Well just have to wait til July & hope that they are nice enough to let us have the game come out in Nov

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 15:39:28

AnnaSmee: You can wish that, I wish it, too, but no matter what WB wont change the release date. Theyre so convinced that the Summer is the best time to release the movie that nothing will change their mind. D=

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 15:46:26

How about we try to do something about it and in the worst case senario...we will...not succssed. seriously though, there is no harm in trying

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 15:48:07

i completely agree with chommy. AnnaSmee just shutup because people ARE swearing (have you not been reading the other post), ARE crying, and they ARE screaming.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 15:51:08

WB_R_LUNATICS: I wasnt going to say shut up, but Im glad someone could say it to AnnaSmee. ;p

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 15:54:05

she just needs to shutup about how we can change the release date:becuz we cant. but we can drive WB insane. (which might not be a good idea or they will ruin DH-which they possibly will do anyways)

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 15:57:43

WB_R_LUNATICS: They probably will. HBP, from my point of view, sounds disgusting and pathetic. I think itll even be worse then OotP, which is not a good thing. :s

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 16:01:00

i dont see how WB could do worse than OotP. it was soooooooooooooooo bad

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 16:14:07

Just sign the petition, it doesnt hurt and at least they know how we feel, it could be the biggest petition ever and has potential to be so, 30,000 people in 3 days, if it gets air time features in more news (as it already has done) then its doing its job!!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 16:15:49

Boooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 16:20:14

people, you can argue all you want...the point is that we fans need to feel that we are doing SOMETHING...so yes, we petition, knowing its unlikely things will change. but we do it to make our voices heard in some way, however small and however much it is veiwed as futile. We want to let WB know we are unhappy, and how we feel fans should come before money. Studios should release that if they create films about subjects which are passionate to people, they are going to get a passionate response in return when they mess up.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 16:25:01

Then why the HECK did WB put November on the trailer?! Just get our hopes up for nothing. -_-

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 16:27:14

i know superfish. they were practically advertising for Twilight. that is probably a reason why Twilight probably changed the date.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 16:27:59

Mulling it for 3-4 weeks! could have pulled the trailer with the Big NOVEMBER until they knew what they where doing!!! and harping back to writers strikes what can one say but what the ............... not wanting to face off with Batman! sorry dont know nuch about twilight but if they can get through writers strikes and it was made in the U.S. unlike HP made U.K and decide it is ready to release earlier By taking the Forfitted HP slot, I realy do wish them Luck and Hope they do well and show WB what they missed out on.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 16:29:04

I honestly hate Warner Brothers right now! Everyone sign petitions, do the Howler campaign, anything to make our opinions heard!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 16:31:56

The fact that you are telling me to shut up because I dont agree with youre opinion shows how pathetic your lives really are. ;D Sheep.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 16:33:29

What a load of crap, they clearly made this decision last minute after releasing that trailer, they cant dig themselves out the hole theyve made. Their reasons are all greed, money-grabbing, and wanting to line their pockets with as much cash from HP fans as possible. They know millions of us will go see it like always no matter what day it was released, they pushed it back to try squeeze extra money out of the fans in their opening weekend. They can claim they love the fans all the want, they love the money - its that simple. And to push a film back a year, after releasing a trailer stating its 3 months away - its a slap in the face to all the loyal fans whove bought the cinema tickets, dvds and merchandise for 5 films so far. The online petitions might not do much, but it helps vent the anger the fans feel. And flooding WB with angry letters, boycotting WB films and dvds, refusing to see HBP in its opening weekend - it might not get the release date changed back, but itll atleast show WB we wont take it lightly.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 16:37:56

No way. They r just blaming it all on everyone else cuz they know we r wicked mad at them. even with the pictures it doesnt help!!!!!!! i still think it was a HA-UGE mistake doing what they did. and they love us. alls i can say to that is....................... ... YEAH RITE =P

A New Website was started today: Accio Dumbledores Army. They have an email intitiative posted that allows users to send an unified email to WB executives, time warner execs and media outlets with one click. Spread the word and the link. http://pottersord er.blogspot.com

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 16:40:25

lol AnnaSmee but i like the word shutup. and my life is NOT pathetic.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 16:43:54

If youre telling someone on the net to shut up because they DONT agree with you is showing that you are pathetic. I didnt say anything rude to you, and I kept it civil, but obviously you dont know how to talk to people, thats why you spit out your useless nonsense.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 16:46:06

A brother saw Clone Wars this afternoon and the NOVEMBER TRAILER is STILL PLAYING TODAY! (same on their website) I think its too late for them to put the breaks on the marketing campaign. Think about how this is going to hurt the product manufacturers!!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 16:48:04

someone is in a bad mood today. which isnt surprising considering what WB did. and i like the word shutup becuz it states that you dont like what someone else is saying and i like to speak the truth. (from my point of view, of course)

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 16:48:48

I usually dont hate people or companies or things like that but lets just say that what I feel for WB isnt exactly love... It makes me soooo angry, dont they realize how wrong it is to let the trailer say "November" when they discussing July?!!? They are SO stupid and impolite and rude and silly and... Yeah I think you get the point... And finally, I would like to tell those WB-people what the mirror told Harry.... "Youre fighting a losing battle there, dear."

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 16:50:50

Blah. This whole thing is stupid.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 16:51:40

If you want to get your point across, it might be better to stop liking and using the word shut up. And its two words, not one. C: And Im in no bad mood (one of the most cliched comebacks you can think of, BTW). Id just rather not have idiots try to act better than me on a website talking about a fictional book. (butistillloveyoumugglene t) Gah, and where is Mugglecast? :C First the movie, and now this. I wanna hear Andrew laugh!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 16:52:38

I have a couple of possible release dates for if (hopefully) they decide to put the film back within November/December: Novem ber 26th- since Bolt has moved to the 21st and there are only a few small films there and wednesday releases usually get more money. December 5th- There are only two small releases there.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 16:52:51

WBs already in a hole...Id suggest they stop digging. And seriously guys, dont get mad at others for trying to do something--its better than doing nothing at all.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 16:56:32

THE CHEEKY BASTARDS!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 16:58:36

dont yall think that if WB sees a red envelope they will just throw it away. why dont yall make the outside look very professional, then they will have to take the time to open them all!!!!!!!!!! and has anyone called WB yet? what have they sad???

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 17:02:04

I understand know this is official, but I hope they change their mind. Sometimes this is more about the money and not sabout the fans, my only hope is they change their mind one more time. But in the other hand, HP 6 and the two part of HP 7 they are going to be close enough; so is not going to be alot waiting.

Also, (like gregorama21) I went to see Star Wars: Clone Wars and it still says November.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 17:12:28

really time for you guys to use judgement calls with reporting news, if you stop feeding the HBP publicty line, maybe WB would learn its lesson. We all know when the movie is coming out, and were all still seeing it, hopefully some of us learned a lesson and will only see it once. WB took a shot at you now you have to take one back, dont just go handing them your money.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 17:17:27

i dont care when they decided it, they said november we want november

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 17:25:24

Have you seen this? http://la timesblogs.latimes.com/he rocom plex/2008/08/harry-potter -fa.html More attention to this is perfect! And dont give up, it has only been a couple of days yet. Keep on fighting!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 17:31:48

Whatever. There`s no point of me complaining anymore. It is what it is, and I`m going to have to live with it. Exactly 11 more months, people....

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 17:39:30

a LITTLE disorganized! wat idiots, why`d they get people sooo excited for it and get everyybodys hopes up, how completely stupid. they should figure out the dates when they are going to release it and stick to it! I was going to throw a b-day party and now what? Twilight? give me a break, a vamp romance story catches absolutely no interest to me. they already have a series called mooonlight on tv about vamps that i gaurantee is sooo much cooler, steph meyer obviously sorta copied it. [maximum ride should be getting all the fame right now not twilight!] They`ll make just as much money doing it in November as they would in the summer I gaurantee it! wb idiots suck

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 17:44:57

What you guys don

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 17:50:11

Remember New Line Cinema! Remember when New Line and Peter Jackson were in court over money due from LOTR and New Line said Jackson would not have a role in making the Hobbit and never work with New Line again? Well, LOTR fans (many of whom are probably HP fans) had a fit, pro-Jackson action was taken and guess what? Peter Jackson is producing the Hobbit and the New Line execs are out of the company they started. So fan action can have an impact. Keep up the petitions and start organizing a boycott. Start taking about a specific target. The Watchmen gets my vote. Also, everyone should contact JKR. DR, EW and RG and demand their support.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 17:58:47

Has anyone considered the fact that Warner Bros. anticipated that we would be OUTRAGED by their actions, and are using us? Maybe we are part of a big PR campaign. Warners pushes back the date, we respond in kind, then Warners makes a big show in response to our flood of indignation ("We love our fans") by restoring the release date, or at least releasing it in December (holiday markets are a big money-maker as well) , and in doing so has drummed up a lot of publicity. Harry Potter fans celebrate our "success" over Warners by making HBP an absolute blowout opening weekend for them. I wonder if this is all part of a big publicity plan, and we are playing right into it. Hmmm... just a thought.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 18:03:43

lets not tire us fans apart. and this news artically doesnt make me/us feel any better

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 18:07:20

Snapealicious: That thought has crossed my mind as well, but I dont think thats how it is. WB needs a "big" movie the summer of 2009, or at least they think they need it.... Well they wont have it anyway.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 18:10:46

I dont really expect to get through to any of the people ranting here much, but I wanted to throw this out here: Guys, look. Its not just about Warners greed and wanting to make more money off HBP. That would be completely illogical, given how epically huge this series has become. Any Harry Potter film is going to make huge wads of money no matter when its released. The real reason behind the release date change is numbers, which affect the long term money Warner makes, which then affects what they can budget for future films. Im not saying this to take their side, but I just think people need to understand what theyre ranting about first. Dark Knight made too much money, and they basically dont have anything lined up for next year to compare to the money theyve already made this (fiscal) year. If HBP remained in its original release slot, theyd then have even HIGHER numbers for this fiscal year. Which would be great, except that when next year rolls around and their numbers are vastly lower than this years, its going to affect their stock shares. Which, long-term, affects their income, far moreso than any difference in actual box office numbers for this one film. Make sense? Now, what you do with that info is up to you. Im frustrated too, but please just understand this is what media corporations do. Its just really a huge deal because they decided to mess with the Harry Potter franchise. IMO, they should have thought of this much earlier and rescheduled Batman for next year instead ;) Also, maybe think about the fact that record labels do this all the time. Its unfair and craptastic, but if you want a film (or a record), thats made with a HUUUUUUGE budget and is consequently gorgeous and great, then it has to go through the corporate machine. Sorry.

Im miss American Dreams, since I was 17.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 18:50:13

All I know is even if the Howlers and the signatures dont change anything, they need to know how we feel. They need to know its not okay. We need to boycott the opening night. Go to www.cafepress.com/Wizards Stand and show your support. We will show them whos boss, but we still get to see the movie.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 18:54:30

Atleast one tabloid we can rely on to get our voices heard on this stupid matter is The LA Times!!....Thanks for helping the HP fandom!.... ccunni i know what you mean!.......Where in the heck is mugglecast!?????????..... ..They HAVE notting to say on this matter because there afraid that the WB wont be giving them any free tickets to the premiere and after party goodies and what not?.....Since emerson has his ltttle wb alliance and all?,,,,,,sorry but i consider them sell-outs if they dont help our cause against the WBs evil plans!....Not even pottercast has anything to say!....WOW!

i cant read mugglenet. its all blue, purple, white, and black.its hard to read everyones posts

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 20:01:37

Whoever had the idea to change the date, I hate you. I dont care if youre a really nice person in some ways, you are an idiot and I hate you. You have ruined my already trashed past few days. Im sick and angry and I could sneez my guts out all over you, so I hope you reconcider. Aside from that, i think theyll get less money because of this. I know several people who are boycotting HBP now, and some people are boycotting ALL WB movies. So if they loose money from there big "get more money" plan, theyd better not try to apologize to us!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 20:04:17

You know, I think we do have a chance at changing WBs mind. They definitely wont put it back to Nov. 21st, but they might move it to December or January. Sending peanuts into a network to protest the cancellation of Jericho worked, so the Howler thing has got a shot. Even if they just throw them away, they cant ignore the fact that thousands of red envelopes are flooding their mailroom.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 20:04:37

I agree with someone that posted earlier.. If they were thinking of it why release the trailer. This doesnt make me feel any better. Yes, we need to speak our minds on this.Whether it changes the stupid money hungry WB moguls at least we will speak our minds and the ones that wont boycott the movies.... at least they wont get my money.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 20:10:01

Ughhhh. Wheres MuggleCast?

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 20:11:10

i dont think they will release it in november or december or january but i think they might release it march, april, or may.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 20:12:35

YOU SUCK, WB!! Seriously, they claim to love their fans so much yet they dont seem to have a problem with just sitting by and ignoring us as we freak out and plan boycotts and sign petitions! I mean dont they realize how angry everyone is? They really need to say something or do something before it gets out of hand. Okay, so your writers went on strike and now you have no summer blockbuster? oh well, its not our problem that you all treated the writers like crap! But they should have realized this months ago, not 3 or 4 weeks ago! This issue should have considered like while the writers strike was still on, not now! Ugh, WB is so incredibly selfish and stupid!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 20:13:23

Almost anything is better than freaking July 09.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 20:18:00

"Progress for the sake of progress,MUST be forbiden" ~Umbridge Sacrificing money for the sake of more money, must be forbiden WB.. If they were thinking about it,they shouldnt of released a trailer that said November, maybe they should of said something about their plans instead. Im sure they cant get the november spot back, but theres December and January..and what about the spot Twilight left? If it came out in December or January, then itd be out on DVD by the summer...but if they didnt leave November, then it would of been ready for Christmas, just like almost always..

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 20:19:37

this is UNBELIEVABLE. They CANT do this to us... usually when a movie release date gets pushed back its for a couple months.... not practically a YEAR.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 20:20:13

uhhhhhh i want mugglecast JAMIE AND KEVIN ARE ON IT!!!!!!!!!!!!! i need itttttt !!! and wb r lunatics thats weird about ur screen!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 20:22:06

People, why all the hopelessness? Why do so many claim to KNOW that WB wont change the date to a closer time? I mean, we all know WB wont change the date back to November 21st due to the Twilight news, but it still could change it to December or something. I dont care if we have a 1/9,000,000,000,000,000 chance of getting the date changed to a better time. (And Ill admit, that may very well be the odds we have!) We have to do SOMETHING, and we have to do it wholeheartedly, without the feeling that it wont work out. Otherwise WB will sense our doubt, and that will be that.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 20:22:43

ooooh i just thought of something. do you think half the reason WB did this was cuz they could release the dvd during christmas?????????!!!!!!! !!!! and where is MUGGLECAST??????????????? ?????????????????!!!!!!!! !!!!!!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 20:23:07

i know it will most likely stay till july, but its worth a try, if you guys dont want to complian, dont, let us, were trying regardless of how futile

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 20:23:59

Amen, nothedwig432. And where is MuggleCast??? I want to hear what they thing about all this!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 20:28:53

do you think WB are telling them not to release their podcast???!!!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 20:29:22

If I dont get MuggleCast tonight, Im staging a riot. Whos with me?

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 20:29:53

Also, if this idea just came up three to four weeks ago (and their sole motivator is money) then why did it take them so long to get us a teaser? I think there might be delays with post-production and they just dont want to admit it.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 20:31:28

Hwy WB --- love how youare more interested in your bottom line then your cutomers......isnt this type of reasoning the same that got you stuck in the writters strike to begin with ?!?!? Have we the fans paid enough for your mistakes (aka a whole seaons of crappy re-runs and reality-ish shows) and now this ...... Plus dont you get the Harry Potter is totally a winter type movie ?!?!? I really loved when they began opening the HP series in the winter at Thanksgiving -- I had really hoped it would become a semi radditional family hoilday outing like Lord of the Rings, but then you went and screwed that up. And now, when I had hoped you had finnaly gotten it right and realized your huge mistake and movied it back to winter ... and now this ----- Thanks alot ---- I wish I could say I wont see it - just to protest you guys screwwing us again, but that would be a lie! What I will say is I will refuse to buy this movie and instead just borrow a copy from my friends or such - because the idea of supporting a company that has no love for me just seems wrong!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 20:31:36

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 20:44:20

OMG- come on- this isnt an April fools joke is it? I havent been on muglenet for a few days and when I signed on, I thought some hacker messed up your countdown. I cant believe this! What will I do till July? Im having severe Potter withdrawal already. :(

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 20:44:34

ok i filled it out. and im lucky skool doesnt start till tues for me

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 20:50:09

Ok, I actually filled that out. Call me idealistic, but for all my talk, Im hopeful.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 20:57:14

OK people... whether they change back or not it is great that we can speak out. We need to let WB know that the HP fans just dont sit there and take it quietly. And yes, this just may change the series. No, it wont affect the people that worked hard on it. They already were paid. They will get paid for the next one. JK already has her money from the books. I say EA needs to go ahead with the game. Where is Mugglecast?

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 20:58:50

i started school 2 weeks ago and i am mad they dont have it released yet becuz i wont be able to listen to it till tomorrow.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 21:22:10

Has anyone noticed they cant get on Leaky Cauldron? I think they are in bed with WB. All the free passes, the premiers etc. etc. Whats going on? Are they double agents?

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 21:30:14

Again, I am as mad as the next hp fan, but This topic is now old, concerting, this news topic was posted on 14th of August and it is now the 17th of August. This doesnt mean tho, that I will stop fighting for what is right, over what is easy, because the wb know that what they had done was wrong and for me, they will still pay big time for what they have now done!!!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 21:31:53

so this is the reason that there was confusion. i dont know if you all know this but i think it was yahoo and msn that had different dates on their trailers. i think it was yahoo that had November 2008 and MSN had coming soon. so no wonder i guess we should have know there was sumthing fishy

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 21:34:16

all i know is the next HBP news better be that they moved the movie back to this year since it cant be the old date...make it the old twilight date

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 21:37:59

Muuugglecast. D:

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 21:38:54

so much for releasing MC in the evening...MUGGLECAST!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 21:40:42

Andrew, dude, what are you doing to it? Christ, post it already!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 21:44:06

Ya know, it would be something if this was all a hoax when they said it wasnt! But, most likely, it wont be. But we would ALL be SHOCKED if it is!!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 21:44:20

I agree with you ohxgosh_itsxwhitnea. What is Andrew doing? Mugglecast is dying. Its always being freaking delayed.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 21:47:50

I hate WB! Im an HP fan but I hope their so called "business sense" fail them! Shame on you WB!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 21:49:05

HARRY POTTER HAS OFFICIALLY JUMPED THE SHARK!!!!!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 21:49:21

Ya know, I just got thinking.. Why didnt they just put both movies out on Nov 21st?!?! Theyd probably both get the same ratings, if not close to each other! eh?

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 21:49:57

333 more days until the movie... Oh, Yeah! I am excited. OOPs.. I just looked at my calendar and I already have something planned. I guess I will miss the release date. Oh bother. What will I do. I know wait until it comes out on DVD.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 21:55:28

While petitioning might not work to change the date of THIS movie, as Twilight has already taken its spot, it will show the WB that the move they are making is potentially hazardous to their profits (the main reason they do ANYTHING is for the green), and they might think again before the consider an entire fanbase as wallets rather than customers and loyal fans.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 21:58:40

I propose that all Potter fans boycott the movie - but just opening weekend. Go see the movie the week after it comes out. Youll still get to see the movie, but itll seriously mess up the studios :)

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 22:02:27

" In about an hour Ill be finally editing MuggleCast. Its not my fault for the delay though, I swear. Sorry :(" he says. Then why isnt it out? I love you Mugglecast, I really, truly do, but its already 10 PM on my end, and my mom is FIERCE.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 22:06:46

let me see how to say this without making anyone mad...gee cant so here it goes... lol ok yes WB screwed up by moving Harry Potter 6 back til July 09 but gee they are human...people make mistakes...just like you guys...while i understand you guys wanting to petition and send hate mail...it WONT WORK! I mean it would be nice if it did but lets be realistic... and before you jump down my throat...I DO have a life...I work full time and support two children by myself...It just seems to me that I have more important things to concern myself with than oh no when is the next harry potter movie coming out?...I WILL watch WB movies even after this...because they arent the first movie studio to do this...and they probably wont be the last...and I WILL see Harry Potter 6 in July just like you all will too...sorry not trying to be rude or nothing just saying what I think...

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 22:07:08

All ideas are worthless, unless we unite. I will boycott this film because MONEY = POWER = Voldemort. They want us to show up in the summer. But you know what?? The actors with the exception of Feinnes are already signed up and contracted and are not losing any money on this deal. WB losing money hits them where it hurts - POWER = VOLDEMORT. Love will unite us. Love will win. Peace out! Porpy

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 22:10:48

OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !! THE WHOLE THING WASNT TRUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOOK! http://news.yahoo. com/s/ap/20080814/ap_on_e n_mo/film_harry_potter HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 22:14:21

Harry Potter is being delayed because Horn may not get his bonus next year if he does not come up with a way to increase revenue for 2009. He does not care if Harry Potter makes more money this year or next. Sorry if I hurt anyone

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 22:15:16

releasing the movie in the summer was a move based solely on greed. hate mail and petitions wont have any effect, though, because the people who sign the petitions are going to see the movie anyway. if the movie doesnt win the box office on opening weekend, though, you can be sure people will be fired.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 22:16:49

Im conflicted. One one hand, I agree with people like ghbrat, lets just grow up and get on with our lives. On the other, I think that just MAYBE, we have a chance of doing something. There are lots of good ideas swirling about, and I dont know what to think...

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 22:20:30

ANDREW FROOKIN SIMS WHAT A GOOD NOTE TO START MUGGLECASTS LAST WEEKLY SHOW DONT YOU THINK...SUNDAY EVENING YEAH RIGHT... Please some of us have school tomorrow!!! i was waiting all day yesterday then you said it would be postponed til today now i have to wait all day today at least give us an update if your going to postpone it again so we dont wait all night/morning and can go to sleep!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 22:20:51

I was about to see Dark Knight for the first time two days ago because my dad offered to take me but I said no, and its all because of my boycott against them now. And youd think that WB would want my money. P.S. Boycotts work, petitions dont. People can talk negatively against them all they want, (its actually good for them believe it or not) but until they start losing in profits the execs are smiling all the way to the bank.

yeah LunaLovegood123, link seems to be wrong or something...help...

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 22:28:42

That link just takes you to a story about how the movie is delayed til July 09. Its all 100% true.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 22:28:45

Tor! Dude! or Dudette! Conflicted you may be - but seriously, Love rules the roost in Harry Potterdom! Boycott the time warner WB. Youll feel better about yourself. I do. Ill read the books again. Always friggin comforting. But seriously dont allow the death eaters to lure you back to seeing the movie. First of all the book is better - but second they only want money and MONEY = POWER = VODEMORT! Learn from the books. But if you go - I wont hate you dude. But try to be strong! We can win with love and unity.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 22:29:13

Hey Guys. Listen, unless its a movie you really want to see, try not to buy/go to any WB movies. I do have a feeling however that the Twilight studio paid WB for the spot and WB decicded to move the movie. However they decide to move it really far ahead. Then after this thing gets free publicity I think they will move the movie to Decemeber and everyone will praise them again and go watch the movies like 4 times. Just what I think happens. If I am wrong however, and this truly does stick we must unite as a fandom and boycott the movie on opening weekend. We still get our movie and WB gets taught a lesson.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 22:29:24

Luna Lovegood :C You liar.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 22:31:29

go see wb movies, go see hbp, just dont go on opening weekend! that way you wont loose anything, and the studios will see that they cant just change release dates to make more money.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 22:32:05

Holy Crap!!!!!! What is your problem????? We all know that it may not work to boycott or petition or send hate mail or whatever else people may be doing but thats not the point!!!!!! Harry Potter is obviously something that a lot of us care about and WB needs to know that they cant just get away with this!!!!!!!! I seriously dont care if nothing I do makes a difference.....but at least I know I tried....where is mugglecast????????????

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 22:33:28

Seriously, its sad to see people on this site badmouthing each other. Were all HP fans, we all want it moved back up to November, we dont have to be snooty about it to each other! If youre mad, write WB a letter or email, dont say something nasty about another poster. And Im not singling anyone out on this. Ive read these posts and theres al ot of name calling.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 22:34:37

Just another friendly reminder to not trust anyone on here who tries to tell you NOT to boycott and that petitions wont work... or that we need to just get over it and accept the date change and not hold WB responsible. In this day and age part of maintaining a companys image lies in planting people in the online communities, telling people just such things to stop the tide of negative feelings/press for WB. Fight the power.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 22:34:59

porpy, thanks dude. or dudette. I like your m=p=v philosophy! And the books are better. And LunaLovegood123...what AnnaSmee said!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 22:48:10

Dont even say it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!! : ( : ( : ( : ( BOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 22:50:00

The big difference between a petition for something like Jericho and Star Trek, and our petitions is that there is a difference between television and movies. Its much easier to speak with our money for a movie than it is a TV show. As long as a TV show is on the air there will be at least some money for the advertizers, but fans dont pay for it directly. There is no TV show on this planet that I would pay $8.50 an episode to see, but I do that with a movie. If I boycott a movie it is direct money that they are losing, not advertizing. Its much easier to see the difference, especially if all the HP fans do something like sticking to their word and not going opening weekend. OotP made around $78,000,000 its opening weekend in the United States alone. WB is expecting at least that much. What do you think theyll do if they realize that their big summer blockbuster, the movie that was supposed to save their behinds during a slow summer, only starts off with, say, $40 mil in sales? About what Twister or The Perfect Storm made? That would be devastating to them. Imagine the looks on their faces if HBP only pulled in $175 mil total instead of about $295 mil! WE have the power here because WE decide when we pull out our wallets and plunk down our money to go see a flick. What we choose to do with that power is going to directly effect the way that the execs at WB view HP fans. Go and give HBP a smash opening weekend thats one for the record books? Youve reinforced the idea that they can do whatever they want to us, and well complain and stamp our feet for a while, but in the end be good little cattle and do what they want us to do. Make HP a flop opening weekend, put it behind the X-Men movie or something like that, and theyll realize that messing with an entire fan base isnt going to do what they think, and theyll be more considerate of the HP fans feelings next time they think of making a move that will upset us. Its our call, not theirs.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 22:57:00

Tor - Im a dude. And yeah! The books ARE better!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 22:58:11

I like the idea of boycotting all WB movies UP UNTIL hp6, as well as skipping opening weekend.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 22:59:46

no unfortunately you guys will lose out....maybe I shouldnt have even posted on here...you guys nitpick on everything they do...heck I am surprised that you guys can agree on anything... all I did was say what I honestly thought and you guys are yelling at me... WB will not lose we will if you guys honestly keep this up....not everyone is going to sign that petition...and I honestly dont think come next July when Harry Potter 6 does come out...that you guys will say oh yeah lets boycott that movie...because in between now and then they will show the theatrical trailer...and you guys will get all excited over it all over again just like you guys did with the teaser trailer a week ago...sorry if I am offending anyone...I understand you all being angry and such but come on its happened WB isnt going to change their mind and move on...

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 23:00:02

Are people really going to have a grudge for that long until the movie is released? And if your really a hardcore harry potter fan to do that, then theres no doubt that there will also be an equal urge to go see the movie immediately when it does come out. So when your causal Hp friends and family go see, youll be holding up that petition sign all alone in front of the theater...feel better?

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 23:05:38

I dont hold grudges...I WILL see it opening weekend and I dont care what they think either...but if they can possibly make them change...heavy on the possibly... lol I will love it even more...I am a big HP fan and will see it no matter if it comes out in November...not likely or July of next year...but then again I loved EVERY HP movie too and not all fans have lol...I enjoy the books for what they are and the movies for what they are...

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 23:12:34

Porpy- thanks for the counseling! Im off to begin the series again!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 23:15:10

ghbrat - no! Dont be so negative about how people perceive you! Its alright Dude! Dont worry! Youre thinking that everyones against you - but it is not true Dude! We all need to hear from everyone! You know this site is huge! So no biggie! I see your point. Dont give up man. We all are here together. Remember - its love that saves us all. Besides, there are other forums dude. Dont let your voice not be heard. Peace out, Porpy

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 23:15:15

It isnt a grudge. And yes, I will not see the movie next summer in the theater. Ghbrat...not sure who yelled at you. But yes, I will boycott all WB movies. But that is for me and my family. You and yours can go and enjoy the movie next year.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 23:17:25

It would be freakin awesome if WB listened to our petitions, emails, and howlers but I think we all know that it will be very hard to change the $$$holes mind. It makes me feel better to do whatever I can to make them HEAR us!!!!!! But Im now in a numb acceptance of the date change and I just wont be happy till about 11 months from now. Until then WB is getting NO MONEY from me! By the way has Mugglecast #157 been pushed to next year too?!?!? haha just kidding!

How to get WB, Harry Potter fans unite. Boycott opening weekend of HBP, we still get to see the movie, but watch WB sweat because opening weekend numbers suck. Im come on, waiting 3 days isnt that long we do know how the story goes.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 23:33:50

hermir1958 now you be nice now. Dont be nasty. Peace out, Porpy

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 23:34:12

I am not boycotting the movie. I signed the petition, wrote several letters off to Warner, and have dwelt on it long enough, and I dont think its important in the scheme of things. I mean, as long Deathly Hallows comes out on time... Its either wait for HBP now or wait for DH. We would have had a two year wait somewhere anyway...although I do think it stupid of them to release a trailer and a bunch of other stuff and then change the date. It was inconsiderate....Now I am still not happy because things didnt go like I thought, but this is life. Things happen we dont like. I do hold some hope (quite naively) that they may change the date to being sooner... I think they could spin this to be a publicity stunt and make a killing..haha. Oh, and I hope they keep giving us pictures... maybe a couple a month instead of a bunch later..haha.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 23:45:34

Wizardofmath-Im with ya buddy, Im hoping they will reconsider the July 2009 date and maybe make it sooner then that. But weve all gotta do whatever makes us feel better about this $$$$ed up situation. Dont ever lose hope gang:)

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 23:47:26

WHeere is MuggleCAST??

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 23:47:44

Hello. Im new to this board. I know, the news that we have to wait until July 17, 2009 to see the HBP is horrible! However, it is not Warner Brothers fault the release date was changed. Daniels play, is the main reason for the last minute change. Warner Brothers didnt want all of the negitivity from the play to fall onto Harry Potter, so they changed the release date.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 23:51:16

*sigh* Nevermind...MCs not coming out until tmrw afternoon. You can check MCs twitter if you want. :/

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 23:53:47

OH MY GOD. Come on Mugglecast! I was waiting all night for this! Thanks a lot. Last weekly episode and youre doing this crap.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 23:56:33

RedJewelDragon-I think WB explained it pretty plainly (its about the money) and the play already ran last year without effecting OOTPs box office numbers. So even though the play was going to be running the same time as HBP theres been no indication from WB that Dans play is a problem with them. They stated the exact opposite last year and said they fully supported Dans decision. So please dont blame Equus, this was WBs decision and it came straight from Alan Horns mouth.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-17 23:58:48

Seeing as everyones putting in their two cents, I suppose I will as well. I have to say Im more in agreement with the posters here who say that petitions, hate mail, phone calls, etc. will not have any affect on this situation. And swearing off all WB products and films will certainly not work; if you havent noticed, Time Warner (which owns Warner Bros.) has a substantial monopoly. Do you use AOL for your Internet? Do you watch the CW, Cartoon Network, or HBO? Do you read DC Comics? Gone to any films by New Line Cinema? Those are just some of the various subsidiaries that WB has a hand in. And I find it hard to believe that all of you will not be going to see this movie when its released. Yes, theres obvious reason to be angry. Believe me, I find WBs way of going about this to be very badly executed (this was clearly not thought out three or four weeks prior to all of this). But "Twilight" moving in on Potters turf essentially sealed the deal. Why dont you all go help the HP Alliance instead? Thats world-changing stuff that could use all of your vigor!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-18 00:02:14

Im swearing off the CW, I dont have cable so no Cartoonnetworks, or HBO, dont read comics other than Archie comics, dont have AOL, dont like New Line Cinema, or have one where I live.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-18 00:07:07

Mugglecast pulled a WB :[

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-18 00:07:38

AnnaSmee, that wasnt quite my point. What I was trying to say is that WB has many companies that you probably sponsor without even knowing it. So swearing off of it entirely just isnt practical (and, by the by, New Line Cinema is a production company, not a theater. They did "Lord of the Rings", "The Golden Compass", and MANY other films). And I forgot to mention in my last e-mail, as another plug for the HP Alliance, that they educate on the topic of corporate companies taking advantage of their customers, and others around the world. Like I said, Id highly recommend all of you try and help THEM. If all of you showed as much interest in that as you do this, there could be astonishing change! Just saying...

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-18 00:10:09

Yup, I rarely watch TV and dont have any of those channels, dont use AOL, and I have no problem in finding out and boycotting all WB releases, products, etc. But I do agree that the valiant effort should be put into HPAlliance and worthy causes too-but I can do both:)

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-18 00:11:03

You have to be willing to fight for change. Sheep conform. I do not wish to be a sheep. I will rage against the dying of the light.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-18 00:11:44

Its fishy to me they would change it at such late notice when theyve never done it before? WB makes plenty of money off HP any time of the year. And theyve never made a BIG change like this before, so why now? And Equus never played in the US on Broadway last year, only in England. And the US has very different views on that kind of stuff than England and Europe do. WB was just too afriad for the tie-in. Its on FoxNews.com.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-18 00:14:15

All of you - have you learned nothing from the HP books? Love wins all! Why do you all hate? We can win against WB because they do not love! They only want power! Learn to leave. Learn not to see but to READ! We are all lovers! We are all friends. If you go see the film, I will not hate you. Its ok. you are not voldemort. But if you dont see the film- I will love you to no end!!!. - Porpy

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-18 00:15:29

Yeah, I was thinking of something else about New Line Cinema. *facepalm*

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-18 00:22:04

Porpy you are soooo right. Everyone is hearing different news and different rumors, etc and the bottom line is were all in this together. No hate, just opinons. But we all agree this sucks:( And I think we have to accept that we all are dealing with this in different ways, all because we LOVE HP!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-18 00:52:20

I really hope they realize that we hate them! Its quite comical how they thought this would help them...they have no idea what FANS, ACTUAL FANS, are capable of. Boycotting all movies from WB...its gonna hurt them! We should do what fans did for the Star Trek movie where Spock dies...we will see the movie, but only ONCE, not drag any non-Harry Potter fans with us, and not buy any merchandise. Merchandise is responsible for A LOT of their income. So, maybe you could "mull over" that idea, WB. Not that much money...too bad. I am soooooo disappointed in them...this was my favorite book. I was planning on seeing it so many times...they really hurt themselves. And they dont even realize it yet, poo....

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-18 01:18:24

Do yall not remember that the WB changed the release date for OotP too? It wasnt as drastic, but still, the same thing happening. All we can really do is wait and protest.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-18 01:32:56

Yeah I remember OOTP moving its release date and I would have no issue with moving HBP a few days or weeks (earlier would be better but I could deal with a few days later) but the thought of almost a YEAR to wait is beyond my comprehension right now-Im numb with disappointment and anger:( Yeah-wait and protest thats all we can do.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-18 01:34:02

http://www.new.fa cebook.com/group.php?gid= 23519089579 New facebook group planning to stage real live protests in front of any theaters playing WB movies world wide. Groups are forming for different locations. We even have t - shirts and all. Just two days ago, some of the people who I saw fired up and ready to take action, saying that they would not let WB get away with this, are already giving up. This is exactly what WB had expected you to do. Of course they knew they would get backlash for their decision, but they knew given a few months you would stop caring. It hasnt even been a week. Even if we can do nothing to change the date, I feel we have the right to let WB know how unbelievebly rude, ungrateful, and inconsiderate theyve been to the very same people who made them rich. With Beedle And The Bard being released, this was supposed to have been a really good end - of - the - year for us fans. But they took it away because they want more money to add to the billions of dollars they already have. Harry Potter has been a big part of my life for many years. I will not take this in silence.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-18 01:44:40

I feel like as time goes by and we get closer to next July I will become more excited to see HBP, but I doubt my anger at WB will EVER go away! And everyday till the release I will not forget the disappointment Im feeling right now. Yup, WB is banking on us calming down but I know I wont calm down till Im sitting in the theater watching HBP.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-18 01:53:03

SPAWN?! THATS A PERFECT WORD FOR IT! THE DECISION IS THE SPAWN OF SATAN!!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-18 02:38:28

This really sucks. I guess there is no hope of them changing it back to November. even if we get millions of people to sign the petition. I am still very pissed but there is no way to convince Warner Brothers.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-18 03:09:13

aaarrrrgggg Im not even a hardcore fan but I feel really bad. this is like a spit in the face

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-18 03:09:23

Dont say there is nothing we can do, because we can! People has done it before so why not us?

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-18 03:16:04

THERE IS A NEW WEBSITE WITH ALL THE HBP DELAYS WEBSITES http://ddsarmy. blogspot.com/ PASS IT ON!! "If Harry Potter can make millions of dollars, it can make a million of petitions" COPY AND PASTE IT EVERYWHERE!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-18 04:32:24

The timing of the decision is the worst part of this whole mess- they should have made this decision way before now and definately before they released the trailer. I really have to wonder and the decision making process at WB at this point in time. If they had decided earlier on I think fans would be more accommodating, now that we had the trailer the anticipation was already at a high for them to drop this bomb on us. Bad move WB.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-18 04:49:20

i think that they changed the date because the 19 julys almost the same date that batman was realesed and they saw that batman did a lot of money that day and so they think that hp6 will make as much as batman did in the box office

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-18 05:35:38

The Wb wont b seeing any money from me or my friends cause we swore that were gonna sneak in!....And whoever is saying to just give up and petitioning/emails/boycot ts wont work thats not the truth cause the company does send out people to come on websites like these and post that kind of crap!.....DONT GIVE IN!!!!!!!.....Harry would fight this thing to the end!....yes the WB/ministry of magic think they can hush us up by controling everyone but THEY would be notting without are hard earned money!......Save all your money guys do not support the WB!...if you do your practiculy giving your money to people who will just by a new porche or yacht!... And for MUGGLECAST i consider them sell-outs!...there afraid they wont be getting free tickets to the premiere and goodies from the WB if they get them mad!....A true harry potter fan would FIGHT for what is right!...And support our cause against the WBs stupid greedy decison!...Who knows maybe there imperiused or something!....or there afraid the Wb will kidnap there familys and torture them or something!....You guys know how the ministry in DH controled basically all the wizarding media like the pro potter campaign by the quibbler!...thats exactly whats happening with mugglecast,pottercast,... and even JK Rowling!....shes afraid of the backlash she will get from choosing a side!....WE NEED TO FIGHT THIS MADNESS!!!!!!!!!......And im sick of the whol twilight stealing HBP spot!...obviously ANOTHER clever move from the wb which probably said....."hey the fans are really pissed off, lets tell summit films to put twilight to the date HBP was supposed to be in, so the fans will give up and stop bothering the hell out of us" Im 100% sure they did that!.....well i dun give a darn!...They could tell twilight to move back where it was or release HBP christmas day or somthing!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-18 06:42:38

Tropic Thunder won the weeked. Way to not see that WB film. I think we can take this further and we could start going to non-WB films to help with the protest.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-18 06:48:11

This is not Twilights fault. Stephenie Meyer saw the anger at the release and summit played its advantage knowing that there are a lot of fans of Harry Potter who also love Twilight. And dont fall for this wont work. It will work and if it doesnt will we be worse for ware? No! We will have stood up for something we believe in and thats what matters.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-18 07:20:28

This is just my opinion but I think WB had the push back planned for awhile. Us just now getting a teaser trailer lines up better with a July-09 release. I still cant believe that WB is doing this. Looks like Twilight capitalized on the chance of a November release. Smart move if you ask me.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-18 07:28:44

I dont think they have planned this too long and I dont think they have thought enough about the consequences. Does anyone know wich HP-movie was the best for WB? I mean if its one of those in November giving them most money, or July or what?

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-18 07:56:49

Funny HBP "delay" trailers at YouTube: http://www.yo utube.com/watch?v=VTY10kF 4HhY http://www.youtub e.com/watch?v=8eXkTTAzOQs

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-18 07:58:35

this is bull... they were scheming to move the date for that long? its like base treachery.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-18 08:23:20

the movie is mostly finished, i think.. its not so much whats wrong with harry potter 6, its that because of the writers strike, the summer 2009 movie season, which is the most lucrative and rakes in the most money, is set to be a dud because companies will not be able to get their movies out by then.. personally, i think the move was a good business strategy but not one that left warner brothers in the favor of the fans.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-18 08:38:59

DO I see people being willing to give up GOING to see this to show that theyre unhappy? No? Well, WB has your number then. To get what you want, you must often make sacrifices.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-18 08:44:30

Umm.. LunaLovegood123: you need to read the WHOLE article! B/c its still scheculed for July, not Nov anymore

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-18 09:02:46

i realy dont see why we should care how long it took for them to make the decision!! they still made it and they still suck!!!!!!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-18 09:29:38

This is just to try & cover up a big mistake WB made. Im still pissed & I still wont go see WB movies...only the next 3 HP movies...thats it. I still hope it will get leaked onto the internet...you never know.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-18 09:37:13

Only a thought... Maybe they has began to realize now? If we keep on everything we do they might put ut in December-April something instead of July... Cause they feel it was a bad idea...

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-18 09:46:16

this is ridiculous. its great that by postponing this the 6th and 7th will have a shorter waiting time between, but i was looking so forward to FINALLY getting to see NEW harry potter stuff! after the 7th book came out, the movies are literally all ive been looking forward to and now its coming out in july. its really really frustrating.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-18 10:04:56

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-18 10:19:30

You know, I dont even necessarily think that its a good thing that there is only a four month wait time between HBP and DH1. Half of the fun is the anticipation and building excitement... the photo leaks, the trailers, the interviews with the cast/directors, magazine spreads previewing it... I mean, obviously if you stretch out that wait time to TWO EFFING YEARS between movies it stops being fun, but I think four months is too short of a time. I bet theyll push back DH1 and DH2. Screw Warner Brothers. At this point, Im just sick of waiting.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-18 10:19:36

Dear WB, i hate you. a lot. -Sincerely, one of 30,000. P:s DARN YOUR COMPANY TO THE DEPTHS OF FLAMING HECK!!!!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-18 10:26:39

I believe we can make the most impact by flooding the executives with email AND telling them that we are going to boycott. I have 10 grandchildren, and I will buy anything Harry Potter or Warner Brothers until the HBP comes out. Im imposing my own 9 months boycott!!!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-18 10:33:09

yeah! jmoores... lets bother them with emails and more emails!! im writing now.... boycott all WB movies and boycott dark night DVD!!!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-18 10:37:08

WTF? They were mulling this over three to four weeks ago? Why the hell did they release the teaser trailer so early, then, if they knew the movie would be delayed?!?

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-18 10:49:24

WB really screwed it up this time. You know, I was planing to buy the video game, action figures and stuff when the movie comes out. But now Im SO not gonna. And actually, Im not gonna see any of your other movies right now. WB, you suck bigtime. No one messess with the HP fandom!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-18 10:55:31

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-18 11:01:43

Wait a min here, I just say The Dark Knight yesterday with my family and I just realized that this would be my second time seeing the movie. That means that wb has $25 from my family within those two times!!! O, shhh!!!

When the trailer came out they had already known? I hate them so much. Everyday I hate them more. I want to send them an e-mail. Does anyone know where to send it?

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-18 11:06:34

I just dont get why they releazed the trailer. Actually the trailer went out late, maybe they just felt the pressure and they had to send something out, if they decided other diferent thing than this. But...and now? Its getting a mess. But well yes its just for the money. And guys just leave it, this is not a battle between the Order and Voldemort, yeah sure, you may try but it wont be worth it, like I said before, they dont care about us, the money is better.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-18 11:08:40

send a howler here hpfan http://pottersorder.blogs pot.com/2008/08/harry-pot ter-november-release-emai l.html it will go to WB

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-18 11:29:11

Where. Is. Mugglecast?

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-18 11:38:44

Hermioneisme stated this in her last comment (I just dont get why they releazed the trailer.) and I would like to state that it was because of our comment on mugglenet.com that drove the wb to release the treailer. We had show anger for not having seen the hp6 trailer and now as the saying goes, BE CAREFUL ON WHAT YOU WISH FOR, IT MAY COME TRUE, but to add to that famous say, YOU CAN NEVER HAVE THE GOOD(news)WITH OUT THE BAD(news). Release the movie trailer was want we had wanted, but inturn we also recieved the bad news of having to wait 11 more months, until be able to view the movie, itself!!!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-18 11:42:02

Dude you people are so frickin STUPID. SAYING SOMETHING CAN WORK! And Im especially disapointed in you Americans who are saying that. THATS WHAT OUR COUNTRY IS BASED OFF OF. You people are just giving up and letting the bad guys get away with what theyre doing. Even if it doesnt work, the point is, well scare the crap outta WB because theyll know that theyve pissed off millions of their fans. If nobody says anything, theyll keep pulling this crap in the future. You dont think that thousands and thousands and thousands of people speaking up wont have an effect? Again... Americans, you need to pay attention in history and government classes if you think this. WE are the people theyre trying to get the money from. WERE the ones who ultimately employ them. We have more power than you think, and if they see 467043890636736306724 howlers in the mail, theyll either a) get a bit uncomfortable and nervous or b) do something about it. Theyre messing with the wrong fanbase, and this isnt about having patience for a release date, its about fighting the greed. Theyre taking advantage of the HP name, trying to squeeze out as much money as they can. Its SICK. And Im really disappointed in you people who are trying to get others to just sit back like a coward without a fight.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-18 11:45:21

I just really WANT MUGGLECAST

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-18 11:48:57

well said ginmo i agree with most you said :)

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-18 11:50:24

OMG that makes it so much worse. the fact they only really thought about it a week and just made the decision on the spot. wb are serious retards

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-18 12:09:20

ginmo: Not everyone here is American. Well yes all you say is true, I mean we are many people, they may get scaried but I doubt they will listen, because they are already rich and they wont get scaried with thosuents of people sending them little mails! How many pettitions have been made? its just like the government! They NEVER listen and we are more and more. Of course, sometimes, in history, people have made revolutions, but do you think this is what? A WAR? Who are you fighting? People without a face? Over the internet? With pettions? It wont make a diference in the world. Go on! Try it. Im out. I know what they want, I know how greedy they are, but life goes on and the world hasnt come to an end yet. I wont get mad at WB, and Im not dispointed with them, they jsut want to make money like everyone in the world. So the only way Im mad at them is that they placed Twilight, a not very good book, in HBPs place. They should respect it. MAYBE you should say that to them in your little mails, MAYBE thats what Im going to do, but trying to change again is so out of question, I mean they wont do it. Face it.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-18 12:17:14

i think anything is worth a try

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-18 12:19:00

I agree that it cant hurt to make our voices heard. We are WBs customers when we go to see their movies, and as customers we can complain about their (money-hungry) business decision. Emotional pleas to WB and petitions may not make them change their minds about HBPs release date, but Im all for sending WB a WARNING SIGN, by NOT seeing HBP during opening weekend -- just in case theyre thinking of pulling the same stunt with DH. Oh, and incidentally, Im not watching any WB movies until then either. Their decision was all about MONEY, and since thats the language they speak, Im going to speak it right back to them. I alone wont make a dent, but many together will.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-18 12:39:25

The world has gone down the toilet with all these greedy people destroying the econemy, terrorists, world disasters!...And an unending slew of BAD news i doubt the world we live in will last very long Hermioneisme....its the depressing but thats the truth!.....We need to stand up and fight this thing!....There not in control of our money we are and we have the power to stand against them cause without our money they stand to lose everything!.............. ......"If it will feed nothing else, it will feed my revenge." William Shakespeare

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-18 12:55:17

BellaBlack: If they move this one and its a success, theres a good chance theyll move the first DH movie to the "lucrative summer season" as well.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-18 13:18:57

*sighs* Boo WB! Im still really disappointed about this. Because of dissertation and my Final Year at Uni I was really looking forward to HBP. It is only a movie though and Im not getting massively angry about it, I got over it about a day ago. The Facebook group, "Harry Potter being moved back has ruined my life", is massively over the top and quite silly. But, I think a lot of people on this site have it right when they make the argument that this is about corporate influence and the money factor. Its unfair that people can just take these decisions. I dont think well be the only ones wholl be annoyed however. Id say that most of the ones who worked on the film were just told about this a couple of weeks ago too.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-18 13:20:59

I totally agree with ginmo, Im from Sweden but Ill send them howlers anyway. Whats up with all this? Those who has the power are greedy and doesnt care about anything else than money, and those who CAN change it if they try is giving up way to easily. Theres just no point if everyone is like that. I honestly love every single one out there who is not giving up.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-18 13:43:48

Hermioneisme- Im not saying everyone here is american. I was addressing the Americans separately because theyre kinda going against what this country is even based off of. And secondly.... have you not seen how influencial the internet actually is? Its more popular than the television. Plus, were not fighting just over the net, its actuall letters as well. You dont think theyd notice 430674306740363076348 red letters over flowing their mailbox??? Even fi it doesnt change anything, at least we can say we TRIED. And we can throw it back in their faces when they say "we care about our fans" because by them not doing anything to our active response, they dont give a darn about the fans.

Warner Bros. is counting on this fury to die down in a few days/weeks. As loyal HP fans, we owe it to ourselves NOT to let this die down. Be vocal! Sign the petition, write a howler, go to the WB website and fill in their feedback, take their survey and fill each blank with "Free Harry!" or something like it. I send them new feedback everyday! Send emails to the entertainment shows like Access Hollywood and Entertainment Tonight. Make noise and get them to do a story on it. Boycott WB products, including movies and their TV station, the WB. Write to the WBs comercial sponsors and tell them why you will not be watching their shows. They are COUNTING on this to just go away. They think well just grumble for awhile and then accept it like good little boys and girls. The more noise we make, for as long as possible, the better. POWER TO THE MUGGLES!!!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-18 19:33:33

if they were thinking about this for 4 weeks they could have said, "hey, this is a stupid, inconsiderate decision. hp is the best thing to ever happen and well make money whenever, wherever. lets just give it to them in nov." but i guess they dont think. and they obviously dont care about their "fans." just so you know, wb, were not your fans. we love harry, but we hate you!!!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-18 21:15:35

Go to all the Harry Potter boards and look at what everyone says-looks like 100% mad, maybe 70% talking about petitions, boycotting (which I agree with) and maybe 10% saying get over it. The rest say they are going anyway. So if you take 70% of all Potter fans and sign petitions, boycott WB either all movies by them or HBP, (especially merchandise) in particular we can be a voice-will it change anything? I dont know but it doesnt hurt to try I, for one, am not going to be a sheep and say "ok whatever WB says" think of what Harry Potter would do-he was never one to sit idly by. Be a voice let yourself be heard

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-19 01:09:52

THERE IS A NEW WEBSITE WITH ALL THE HBP DELAYS WEBSITES ( ddsarmy. b logspot.c om (REMOVE SPACES)) PASS IT ON!! "If Harry Potter can make millions of dollars, it can make a million of petitions" COPY AND PASTE IT EVERYWHERE!

Wow!....Can somebody say karma?.... A judge has denied a Warner Bros motion to dismiss 20th Century Foxs lawsuit over Warners right to make a film based on the graphic novel "Watchmen." Ruling is potentially a huge victory for Fox, which could wind up as a profit participant in the film, and could cost Warners millions considering the films box office prospects. However, Foxs legal team says it isnt looking for monetary compensation and instead wants to prevent the big-budget film from being released altogether. What goes around comes around!......And here is proof!

I STILL CANT BELIEVE THIS, ALMOST A F""KING YEAR TO SEE THIS MOVIE, WHEN WE WERE SUPPOSED TO SEE IT IN 2 MONTHS, I HATE YOU WARNER BROTHER, YOU ARE ON MY BLACK LIST, I WONT SEE YOUR MOVIE, and I REFUSE to pay for it, I will buy the pirate version when the movie comes out, so that means I still see it but without giving you the satisfaction to get richer with my money, besides where I live the pirates version of the movies comes out at the same time as the theatre movie!! SUCK ON THAT.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-19 02:12:49

ITS BLOODY RUBBISH THEY SHOULD CHANGE IT BACK OR IM GOING OVER THERE TO START SOMETHING AND THEY CAN KEEP ON EXPECTING MY EMAILS UNLESS THEY CHANGE IT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-19 07:12:44

I agree with most to sign a petition in protest so things like this dont happen again. I also like a few peoples idea of waiting to go see the movie. WB want big numbers that first opening weekend, right...well if we can wait 11more months, then we should all be able to band together in protest, and wait 11months + 1 week...In other words, I think we should all boycott the opening weekend, and go the weekend after instead. We still get to see the movie a week later (whats one extra week when you have to wait 11 months?); however it will send WB an even bigger message than a petition does IMHO. They can throw the petition in the garbage, but since this whole move by WB is about greed and money at the expense of those fans who will give them that money, then they will definitely see and feel a move by people to destroy their big opening weekend by everyone waiting one extra week...they will for sure not be able to easily dismiss that move by fans when they meet in their board room. It will hopefully help ensure this never happens again. Also, instead of going back to watch the movie 2 or 3 times, I am going to watch it once the week after opening weekend, and then wait until it comes out on Blu-ray... I am new here, but those who are regulars should think about starting a 2nd petition for everyone to not go opening weekend, as the ultimate protest that WILL be heard by everyone at WB...

I am sooooo mad that they have done this. If i didnt love harry potter as much as i did i wouldnt see the film. I hate how far apart the films are but i always remember how much work must go into them but its getting stupid. If they push this realse date back all the other films are going to go back. It will be like 2013 before the final one. I hate you WB

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-19 10:24:49

Please sign a pledge to boycott the opening weekend and send a message to WB that they will actually listen to. Forward this on to everyone you can. That way we can still see the movie when it does come out, but on our terms, sending WB a strong message, and hurting their big opening weekend: http://www.yo uchoose.net/campaign/boyc ott_opening_weekend_of_ne w_harry_potter_hbp

As if it doesnt hurt enough that WB put the trailer through to theaters, leaked it to the internet then announce that they are changing what i would of thouht to be the most anticipated film during the winter season to a date almost 7 months later. And to hear that they were thinking of changing the date earlier during the month, I say why did they even bother with the trailer only to dissapoint so many loyal HP fans. I can guarntee that whoever is to see the film in July, would of seen it in November making absolutly no difference execpt WB now has to deal with upset fans of the HP franchise.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-19 14:06:16

everyone should boycott WB. they are being so inconsiderate to all the harry potter fans. they are only doing it for money and claim they "love" the fans. but the truth is they dont give a care in the world about us. so please boycott WB and sign the petition on petitonspot. com . dont go to any WB movies until we get our potter back in november. (or any sooner than feb)

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-19 17:12:38

They were unnecessarily cruel to us. If you look at the math, 3 to 4 weeks ago was BEFORE The trailer came out.. why did they let the trailer come out?! Money Wh**es!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-19 18:00:37

fine, since im not getting hbp in november, im going to start reading the twilight books, it seems they are really good books, so ill have something to see this november

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-19 18:04:22

For those fans saying we should stop protesting, what is wrong with you guys? Are you eal fans or what?Theyre MILLIONS of fans and we all need to do what is possible o get the movie back atleast in December it will fit in perfect as a holiday movie, and since there is no other big holiday movies coming out it will rule the box office.Come on Harry Potter fans we can do it we just need to beieve.BRING BACK HBP WB NOW!!!!!!!!!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-19 18:58:29

If they were discussing this before announcing the release dates and showing the teaser trailer they should have held back on doing both of these until they knew for sure when they were going to release it. What I dont understand is WB says they want to release the movie in the summer because the fifth movie was the second best selling movie and was released in the summer. But the first movie is the first best selling movie and that was released in November. So its like their saying they want the sixth movie to sell as much as the second best selling movie but not as much as the first best selling movie.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-19 21:44:54

YES! I AGREE WITH ALL OF YOU, IF THEY ARE GOING TO MAKE US WAIT 11 MONTHS then BOYCUTT THE OPENNING WEEKEND, come on guys, we CAN do this!! lets do it, to be honest, I dindt care about the gap between HBP and DH because I was aware of that, but THIS WAS UNEXPECTED, so that is why I think is unfair!! WE WONT GIVE UP!!!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-19 22:18:54

So wait, when is the full length trailer coming out? Just because they pushed back the movie (ghetto), when will they release the trailer? I mean if they do it now, itll build up hype.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-20 18:47:37
