Back in mid-July we told you that Dan would appear at TimesTalk in NYC to promote and discuss his upcoming performance in Equus.
A staff member of Snitch Seeker was present at the event and took lots of notes from what Dan had to say. In their report, we learn a lot about Equus and some information concerning Half-Blood Prince.
The most timely thing learned about Half-Blood Prince was a comment from Dan on the delay, which he says he found out about only 24 hours before everyone else. He also asked everyone to not blame him for the delay.

I just got the comic before the delay news because of all the fuss, and I love it, and I was like, this is gonna be huge and WB is expecting huge profits for this movie. We should so boycott Watchmen, but most of the fans are like 40 years old still living at home with mom. lol

Im actually in the middle of reading Watchmen right now for the first time, and I like it a lot. I would never think it was Dans fault for the delay & I think its horrible for WB to even say that they have an issue with him appearing nude in a play. He was in the play last year when Order of the Phoenix came out so whats the big deal? They are just trying to blame someone else because they screwed up. WB stinks

Why would we blame Dan? If its because of the Equus thing then he has no need to worry. In my opinion if the role in Equus was going to affect the Harry Potter fandom it should have affected it when Equus opened in London. I respect Daniel for making the decision to play Alan Strang. Its wrong of WB not to quash that stupid rumour about Dan immediately. Although i suppose it helps to deflect the heat from them. Dispicable. No one can blame the actors, its becasue of WBs greed that the film got delayed.
I do think we should boycott their other films. Its not jus the delay of HP but the whole principle we should stand against. These huge corporations should learn not to bite the hand that feeds them!!!

Its great to see that the Harry Potter experience has helped both Dan and Emma mature into wonderful individuals and I sincerely hope all of the up and coming actors {dan and emma especially] have excellent careers ahead of them. Dan is such a wonderful guy . And those who think that his being in equus will harm the films really need to take another look because dan is mature enough to be doing both and not have a ego as big as the sky.
