Wrock for Darfur – an all-day Harry Potter-themed festival organized to raise awareness about the genocide in Darfur – will be held from noon to 9 PM this Saturday at Waryas Park in Poughkeepsie. This wonderful collaboration by a small group of teenagers will feature a massive wizard rock concert, vendors, food, games, and even an elaborate Horcrux Hunt! And the best part is, all proceeds will go directly into purchasing school supplies for Darfuri refugees as well as civilian protection in Darfur. Read more at the link below!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-20 11:58:15

I would never go there. Waste of time, in my opinion, although it IS a nice cause. I hate Wizard Rock. Its so ... bad.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-08-20 12:31:35

COOL! I live right across the river from there, only about 15 minutes. I grew up in Poughkeepsie. I am so excited to have something HP related right here in my town.

I live just a state below, but its still I pretty far. If I could drive though I would definitely go. But I think its great that the HPA is doing this.

I agree with what you said, chommy and to add to your comment, I also live to far to be part of this event. There would be no-way that I could make the event, I have a birthday party to go to that day!!! Sorry!!!
