I prefer hard cover, but its still cool that stuff is coming out!! :-)

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-09-22 11:29:20

Seriously? We have to wait another YEAR to get the paperback, when normally we get it just one year after the initial release? I prefer reading my paperback versions, to keep my hardcover ones nice, so this really sucks.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-09-22 11:30:10

Its on July 7 but its the wrong year!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-09-22 11:36:30

haha. I think its hilarious how EVERYONE is so desperate to milk Harry Potter as much as they can for money.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-09-22 11:37:07

Such a tease they are! Another year for the film, now the paperback? Is this just the US or worldwide?

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-09-22 11:45:04

Well since Dan got a mention for his interview. Id like to say for those who like Rupert there are new photos of him during the filiming of his new movie, Wild Target. Go to any of the Rupert sites or at SS.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-09-22 12:01:36

wow, 2 years after the original release??

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-09-22 12:35:53

who wants paperback? they get bended and ripped like crazy

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-09-22 12:49:04

I waited a long time to get the paperback set, now I suspect I will have to wait much longer. I feel used by the publishers. Greed is now taking over. Jo, please tell them to stop it! I wonder if soon there will be a growing backlash among the fans.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-09-22 13:02:26

What a bunch of poops. Since starting the series in Paperback, I wanted to finish it in that, but now I cant. Im upset. But not that upset.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-09-22 14:03:39

$15 for a paperback???

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-09-22 14:35:28

Why are they telling us this, so early in advance? It just doesnt make sense.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-09-22 14:50:09

lol, "we are thrilled to continue to bring Harry Potter to fans of all ages in new and exciting ways" because paperback is so new and exciting.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-09-22 15:46:56

A fifteen dollar paperback book? Im obsessive with keeping my books perfect anyway, but thats just crazy. You might as well get the hardback. Itll last longer. o.O

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-09-22 15:57:58

They seriously milk this series for everything its worth! xD Can anyone say Chamber Of Secrets 10 Year Anniversary Edition? Then well have Beedle The Bard paperback, and 15 year Anniversary of everything! :P I know Im exaggerating A LOT, but Shcolastic really do use HP to make quick bucks.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-09-22 15:59:04

ARE YOU KIDDING ME!? another year?! they are milking this way to much. first the movie now this?

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-09-22 16:11:17

Geez people, its just a paperback release. Stop overreacting. Ive seen more expensive paperbacks on books not as good as DH.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-09-22 16:54:17

Ugh, I dont care about paperback anymore. I used to get it becuase it was cheaper, but when I bought my very first hardcover (Order of the Pheonix) before I went to Puerto Rico, I never went back! Until then, I kept an eye out for the Harry Potter books that I DIDNT have in hardcover & got those in hardcover instead & am going to get rid of the paperback ones, instead of having the Harry Potter series in part paperback & part hardcover. Besides, the paperback books are much easier to tear than the hardcover ones. So in my eyes, Id rather get the hardcover books anyday, b/c youre just waisting youre money if you buy a paperback & then it gets ruined & then end up buying another! So a little tip: Buy Paperback if you can or already havent :)

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-09-22 17:22:37

why is it taking so long for this paperback to come out? another entire year, seriously?

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-09-22 17:50:56

July 7? They release DH July 7 NOW? It would be so cool for it to be released on July 7 in 2007. 07/07/07 and 07 (for HPatDH)! And paperback isnt exciting and new, Ms. Stupid.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-09-22 18:39:55

"in new and exciting ways." - HAhaha cuz a paperback is just soo exciting. Why dont they just release 15 min. clips of the movies over the course of 50 years. "lets see how long we can stretch this out, guys!"

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-09-22 18:58:48

Uhm... Im pretty sure weve had the paperback version available in australia before now... I just checked on a bookstores website (Dymocks, for those in Aus) and its listed as available in paperback, and says it will usually ship in 24 hours. Go figure.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-09-22 19:28:16

Haha, Australia got the paperback more then 2 months ago!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-09-22 19:41:22

There you go - it wasnt just my imagination! Weve had it for more than 2 months! Finally, we get something before everyone else! ha!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-09-22 20:06:59

Whoa! July 7th?! I was expecting a bit...sooner......

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-09-22 20:19:39

can someone tell me wtf is up with all this hp stuff getting released in july 09? i mean, first the movie gets moved, then the video game (which yes i understand why but still..) and now the paperback? i mean are they that desperate to have another "summer to remember" or is this all rotating around the opening of the theme park which last i checked is late 09 early 10? hey, how about pushing something forward for once and open the park in july 09...

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-09-22 21:09:56

I pretty much agree with everyone that has posted (most notably adriennecray gryffinpuff817 and novuscrepusculum): (1) A paperback copy isnt even that cool (2) But, still why are they making us wait for everything?!? I mean what did we do to infuriate Harry Potter companies (Scholastic, WB, EA...), they seem to be trying their best to put everything off.... not to jinx anything, but the theme park or Beedle the Bard will probably be next. I mean personally I think this is a very depressing time in the fandom (Movie delayed, Mugglecasts no longer weekly, less news, no more books...) why do they have to make it worse?

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-09-22 21:24:56

OMG THATS MY 18TH BIRTHDAY!!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME !! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME !!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-09-22 22:59:40

Seriously? *sigh* Im quite disappointed in Scholastic right now, did they really have to? Ugh... greedy companies.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-09-22 23:39:51

Haha, Hptwilighter. Its just a sad year for us Harry Potter fans. ;___; I actually like owning paperback copies (Harry Potter ones, especially). They make my load a lot lighter when Im carrying the books from place to place and they are more compact. Therefore, I think a paperback copy IS cool. :)

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-09-23 00:07:12

princess_lisa, Ecstatic: SO TRUE! Im in Melbourne (AUS) and Ive noticed that our Bloomsbury DH paperbacks have been on shelves for like 2-3 months :P Then again, this is Scholastic so its probably different. Also, I was at the Koh Samui airport in Thailand in 06 and saw the HBP paperbacks on shelves at least 3 months before they hit the US. It just goes to show, doesnt it?

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-09-23 06:58:46

Is this not awefully late? the Bloomsbury UK paperback edition is already on the discount and dumpmarket.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-09-23 08:19:21

Man people need to get a hold of them selves, its not about money or anything like that. Its a paper back, so some of us like to read the paper backs so our good hard back copies dont get banged up. Especially since most of us re-read the books over and over. I do wonder on the delay but not my business like every one else I wait and then when it comes available I go get it. Take a Chill Pill and get over your selves.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-09-23 13:47:18

I get both the hardcover, and paperback versions, because when i go on vacation somewhere i would rather bring one of my paperback books, and leave my hardcover books at home. I always bought the first edition hardcover when it came out,and then a year later i would buy the paperback version(which would be my travel version). I guess they didnt release the final book in paperback this summer/year,because of the ten year annivesary of "The Sorcerers Stone",but thats fine with me I cant wait to have DH in paperback also.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-09-23 18:17:36

How ridiculous! I bought a copy of the paperback on discount in a local supermarket over a month ago. Seems the UK do get some things first!!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-09-24 00:39:50

Lupi: Well, naturally :) Because you see, Harry Potter IS British. So, it is only natural for the UK to get things Harry Potter before the US.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-09-24 14:23:22

Hahahahaha. Its kinda funny how they think paper back is "new and exciting."

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-09-24 14:40:34

Im not waiting until July. I just purchased the PB via a UK website. Cost was $22 shipped to the US. Yes, it is higher than I would normally pay, but not having to wait another 8 months is worth it to me.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-09-24 15:36:38

heey thats my birthday =] coolio

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-09-24 15:55:46

You guys really do exaggerate way too much. Hey guess what? The other six books are in paperback. Why are you complaining about the last one being paperback?
