UPDATE: The event concluded at 5:22 PM EST, with a Scholastic representative saying they'd be back next year for the 10th anniversary of Chamber of Secrets. A new book and Cover to Cover reading to come? We'll let you know!
A few weeks ago we told you about Scholastic's Cover to Cover Sorcerer's Stone reading, which lets fans take turns reading the first book in Scholastic's headquarters.
That event is TODAY and is streaming live online so everyone can enjoy the fun. Check out the stream right here. They expect the event to wrap up no later than 5 PM EST.
Scholastic also passed along a few pictures from the event that you can see here, here, here, and here, and here. To everyone who went: great job reading!

I live near New York City, and if I didnt have school I wouldve been there to read it,and get a free copy of the ten year annivesary of the "Sorcerers Stone". I went to a local Barnes and Noble this weekend, and I saw the tenth year annivesary edition of "The Sorcerers Stone",and i bought it along with "Brisingr",and i was so suprised, because i was like wait this isnt suppose to be out until Tuesday.

This is really strange but funny. I just started the stream up...some girl who said she is from High School musical is reading. Are they normal people or minor celebrities doing the reading?

Theyve shown a few celebrities: Kurt Loder, Kaycee Stroh, Marcia Gay Harden, and Jill Zarin.... What other famous people have made an appearance?

If I won this thing, I wouldve brought my violin and started playing. Carnegie Hall is for playing music, not reading Harry Potter...no offense.

I cant wait until next year when they read the Chamber of Secrets. I thought this was very cool, but it would have made the whole event more amazing if they had been able to get J.K. Rowling to read the last part of the book. Maybe in 9 years or so if they do this for the Deathly Hallows, She will read the last part of her book.

I really enjoyed watching and listening to the readings. Next year, Chamber Of Secrets! Will they be doing this for all the books, when they turn ten years? Was anyone from Mugglecast/Mugglenet there? I missed the beginning so I wasnt sure.

I went in the morning from 8am-11am and the line wasnt too bad (no celebrities). I got to read 4 times! They let us go around and get back in line - it was great fun, like an amusement park ride. I hope they do this for each books anniversary! In a different city each time, so yall get a chance. A Scholastic employee confirmed the webcast will be made available on their site later. Great fun!

Its already over? For some reason I thought that 5:00 eastern time was about 7:00 my time, so I decided to get some work done before I watched this. But now I come on here and see that the event is no longer happening! I was so excited to see some of this, but now I feel really let down. How I wish I lived in New York!

I was there too.. i was actually surprised of the lack of turnout.. they started to get employees and kids of the street and such.... but then i did get to read like 9 times and some really great parts so that was awesome! the scholastic people are really great and i cant wait till next year!!

I live like a block away, so I got there like almost exactly at 8 am. Stood in line for like 15 - 30 minutes. I was about number 36 in the line. So when it was time to read, I got the part where Petunia is dying Harrys "school uniform" in the kitchen. It went SO bad, cause I wanted to do English accents for the voices, but then I couldnt go back to my american accent after doing the english accent, and it got all messed up - half english and half american! It was horrible... and I never get nervous, so I dont know wtf was going on!
Anyway.. got a free book, and a gold pin of a golden snitch, that says something like "celebrating 10 years" or something like that. I wore it all day, but hardly looked at it, so I dont know. They asked us, when we went out the doors if we wanted to go back in line and read again, cause there werent really that many people. But I was just scared Id screw it up again, so I fled with a bunch of fellow Potter-freaks, who I coicidentally met while standing in line.
