Last year, readers may remember that Middlebury College received a lot of press surrounding their Intercollegiate Quidditch League. Several colleges competed for the World Cup, and this year, 14 teams will be traveling to Middlebury for the 2008 tournament!
The event will take place on Sunday, October 26th, from 10 AM to 6 PM in the middle of the campus. For more information, you can check out their website. Good luck to all of the teams, and we'll update you with the results next week!
NOTE: It's important to mention that this tournament has been graciously supported by our friends at Alivan's, who have contributed lots of Potter-related merchandise.

i think this whole quidditch at colleges is a stupid/great idea. first of all, the only quidditch in this world belongs in the harry potter series. secondly, people cant fly so whats the point? and finally, i feel like theyre mocking quidditch. i know the people love harry potter and the sport, but it honestly just doesnt feel right.
well, thats my opinion.

ryroandhobo, you are sadly mistaken. muggle quidditch is the best thing EVER!! were bringing the wonderful world of harry potter to real life and its so much fun. no mocking what so ever- were just out there sharing in our love for harry potter and playing quidditch at the same time! its so great. you should check it out some time and see that the people playing are some of the most die hard fans. i love harry potter and muggle quidditch keeps the wizarding world alive for me :D

I just looked, and McGill (Quebec) has a team. Right now, they are my favorite school. THIS IS AWESOMENESS. If I go to a school w/ quidditch, Im TOTALLY getting involved. I can be a referee! x3 Ill just memorize all the quidditch scenes and keep Quidditch through the Ages with me at all times. =3 I already have page 1 book 1 memorized.

guys midd is gonna own! I believe we won last year as well so whoever the competition is, is going down. And muggle quiditch is f-ing hardcore!! Harry potter may not be real but come on we can make movies and music why not a sport to go along with it? Im so excited for this sunday. Hell yeah !! middlebury panthers gonna show you guys up !!

Go McGill!! haha there was a artical in my universities (MUN) newpaper about McGills quittich team and how they were hoping to go to this, so glad they were able to! Theyre trying to start a quittich team at MUN now too, they sort of had an attepted at just a general st. johns league last year but I think having one at the university will work out better! lol
