We continue to hear more Potter talk from producer David Heyman thanks to lots of sites covering the film Yes Man. Collider.com has passed along their interview with David, where he discusses Deathly Hallows for a few minutes. Prior to coming to Los Angeles for the Yes Man premiere, David said he'd been in London for Deathly Hallows script meetings with Steve Kloves. He also says that they're still debating where to split parts one and two of the film, but they may have found a spot. You can see the full video interview right here. Thanks to Collider.com's Steve for the tip!

1st?!? You better choose soon Heyman or well be left with a bloody 30year wait this time!! I guess i wouldnt know where to put it either... sorry...

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-12-19 12:38:22

2nd?!? I feel horrible the way theyre just stringing us along... first theyre splitting it, then theyre not... just shut up and do your job!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-12-19 12:41:53

3rd?1? I just hope they make it good.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-12-19 13:06:58

I WISH I COULD E-MAIL DAVID HEYMAN AND TELL HIM MYSELF!!! It should end after after the TRIO escape from Xenophilius Lovegoods house and before the Malfoy Manor... It should end like THE DARK KNIGHT! After Harry, Ron, and Hermione escape Lovegoods house the Death Eaters and the Ministry of Magic post a national MAN-HUNT for Harry Potter and his two friends. And then the movie ends with them hunting for Harry Potter and the Harry and the trio running away through the snow... now THATS an AWESOME ending and a cliffhanger!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-12-19 13:19:19

Thats a decent idea but I think mine would split the movies more evenly and still maintain a cliffhanger. I believe that they should split the two movies right after Ron gets Harry and the Sword from the pool or while Harry is in the pool. If they could do it to where the last thing we see is the revelation that it was Ron who came back to save Harry that would be great. Then the first scene of the second movie could be the intense scene of destroying the locket horcrux and then would go straight into the fight between Ron and Hermoine after Harry and Ron make up.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-12-19 13:28:58

YEAH bravesfan150, i originally wanted them to end it like that too.. BUT David Heyman said that the 1st part should end with the "Deathly Hallows" being mentioned... otherwise whats the point of it being called HArry Potter and the Deathly Hallows??? lol. After Lovegoods house escape is when the trio finally learns about the Deathly Hallows, THUS introducing the rest of the plot... and in the book, the Ministry did order a type of man-hunt for Harry after the Death Eaters saw him and his friends for themselves in Lovegoods house. So thats the only ending i see fitting, and if you compare both parts.. theyll both estimate around the same time

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-12-19 13:31:27

I think it should end with Dobby funereal or have it end with them going to the Xeno Lovegood house and it end with the story of the deathly hallows.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-12-19 13:35:06

Yeah something like that stupifydathoe . Dobbys funeral is too late in the game... you might as well finish the rest of the movie, lol. But the Lovegood escape is ideal! i always thought the ending of PART 1 should be like The Dark Knight... and anyone who watched that movie will agree with me that thats an AWESOME ending thatll leave you wanting MORE.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-12-19 13:40:37

These people dont even know what they have, how big this story is or what to do with it. I hope I would eventually be proven wrong, yet I doubt it. One of those splits mentioned above would most probably happen. However, by my opinion, the best and only split that would work is the one after Malfoy Manor, before the weeks preceding Gringotts. Final movie should represent one day, last day. But that kind of move requires vision, and those guys just dont have what it takes.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-12-19 13:42:27

What are you talking about Morgenes, ive never heard of such idea!! The Battle of Hogwarts is NOT LONG enough to last 2 1/2 hours.. thats just insane! boring, and quite annoying... people will be walking out of the theatres...

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-12-19 14:12:01

phoenixknighter- I agree I think it should end there also, right when greyback finds them in their tent when harry says voldys name. But heyman said that theyre not going to split it during an action packed scene so who knows where theyll split it.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-12-19 14:30:27

yeah, i know G_wizzle, i actually meant after they escape Lovegoods house... in the book after the trio escaped Lovegood, a ManHunt was issued out. so they can do that in the movie like the end of the Batman movie... imo that isnt very action-packed like the Batttle of Hogwarts, lol

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-12-19 14:44:26

After they arrive at Lunas fathers house! : )

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-12-19 14:55:23

I think it should end after the Malfoy Manor incident. Or when Ron first leaves, although that would be too early.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-12-19 15:03:00

Note GUYS: The MOVIE HAS TO END AFTER THE DEATHLY HALLOWS HAS BEEN OPENLY MENTIONED... SO THAT MEANS ANYTHING BEFORE THE CHAPTER XENOPHILIUS LOVEGOOD WILL NOT END ON PART 1

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-12-19 16:15:38

i dont know when it should end, but i do know that im going to scream. its going to be horrible! having to wait another six months before the second half, ugh. i think they should end it around xenos house...yeah.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-12-19 16:24:28

Well if they are going for cliffhangers, they have two options for good ones. The first is right after Ron leaves the group and we see Harry/Hermione suffer the pain of his departure. Or in my opinion, a better one is a literal halfway point of the book. After Christmas at Godrics Hollow, the attack on Harry/Hermione by Voldy at Bathlidas house and when Harry reads the bits of Dumbledores biography and questions if Dumbledore really ever cared about him at all. It would be a great cliffhanger, the lowest point of things. There is NO better way to draw fans back that to leave them dangling when things are really bad. Especially if you know that the story has a happy ending....

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-12-19 16:32:45

Great interview!!! It sounds like theyre really taking their time and they really know what they need to do to make the 7th film work as two parts which makes me VERY HAPPY!!! But they ALWAYS do a great job, so I wasnt worried. I think they should split the film around the time RON RETURNS or maybe right BEFORE MALFOY MANOR...that would be either an emotional and sort of a calm before the storm ending...or it could end with a cliffhanger. Either way would be AWESOME!!! Just listening to him talk about the 6TH film gets me even MORE excited!!! I just want to see it!!!! And we heard the length of it!! 2 and 1/2 hours!!!!! YAY!!!!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-12-19 20:33:57

I think the slip should be right after Harry says "Voldemorts" name in the tent and the snatchers take them to Malfoy Manor. But thats just my opinion, I know that they probably wont do this though.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-12-19 22:48:37

Personaly i dont want the split to happen, Id Sit through a 6 hour Harry Potter movie lol. But I Think a good place to split would be right after lunas father Explains the Deathly hallows and The Ministry Arrives at the house :D

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-12-20 00:46:31

I think it should end when Ron leaves. Then its a huge cliffhanger for the movie and those who only watch the movies! It makes more sense to end it right there, plus its practically halfway through the book as well.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-12-20 07:30:49

I agree that it should end after the Trio excapes Xenophilius Lovegoods house. That way theyve mentioned the Deathly Hallows, its practically in the very centre of the book, and they still have action-packed scenes (Malfoy Manor, Gringotts, Hogwarts, etc) in the 2nd part!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-12-20 14:57:49

Yeah, after that. Or you know they could just forget the split. I would rather watch the whole movie and have it really long then have to watch it in parts. But obviously it is too late for that!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-12-20 17:16:44

AmourHannahAbbott: I dont think it should end when Ron leaves cause that isnt even half way into the book. Its only like a Quarter into it.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-12-20 22:22:51

I think the movies should be stand a lone movies-meaning they should have their own theme and conclusion. Though part one should naturally lead to part two meaning we have to know that the journey has only just began but no you must watch the next movie to have any closure cliffhanger. Some people will never make it to see the last movie. Each movie has to have a deathly hollow ingredient. Perhaps Ron doesnt need to be with Harry and Hermione to see Lunas dad. That lengthens Rons absence and gives us the DHs before Rons return. Dobby needs to be reintroduced to the film viewers because I think he deserves his heroic end. Some people think his stuff should be switched to Kreature instead. Id feel a little cheated but I guess thematically it works. I think the first half of the book has parts that should be shorted like the wedding and the trip to the ministry. I dont want to spend a lot of the movie time seeing other actors play the trio. In part two we need to really get Harrys sacrifice and to feel the loss of each major death.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-12-20 22:37:43

I wanted to say that if the film wants to have the first one end with Ron returning and then go into the part about how they could remove Ron from the Xenophilius stuff. Otherwise the film has to end sometime after the deathly hollows are explained and there is no "Emotional and Very Truthful" Break after Ron leaves until Dobbys funeral. IMO.

I think it would be neat to split it when Harry "sees" Voldemort steal the wand from Dumbledores tomb. It is ending it on a cliff hanger, but with all the information about the Hallows out in the open. Then the second half can open up right with the action scene of the trio breaking into Gringots, but it would be cool if its done right with Bellatrix walking into Gringots and the movie watchers would not know that the whole trio was present until they take command of the cart once inside the tunnels so it would be like a surprise begining except for those that read the book, which is different from the books but would be a change that would still work and posibly make it more entertaining for those that have not read the book. This way the 2nd half has an action scene with dragons right at the begining.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-12-21 23:57:44

tarotx: They couldnt leave Ron out for a longer time, they couldnt just delete scences like the wedding. They are truly important. It would ruin the movie

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-12-23 13:17:08

the split should be DEFINATELY after xenos... it makes sense. i dunno, id rather watch the whole thing... even if it was six hours! i dont care, i just wanna watch it already! (along with HBP)

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-12-25 19:23:49

I agree, I would watch the whole thing 6 hours or not, maybe they should put an intermission in b/t. =) but since thats not going to happen, after the lovegoods would be great, and after harry saying voldemorts name would be very interesting, they would have to find some way to make that line have more meaning though, then maybe end it with them hereing a commotion and someone saying like "utuh" lol, thatd be cool, and leave a cliff hanger. or if they ended it with after harry says voldemort and then the deatheater [you hear them from outside the tent] saying "come out, with your wands up, or whatevewr the line was, it was something to that effect, but that would be a great ending, its so sad that we have to wait 6 whole months to see the second half though :( oh well i guess we cant have it all. They better do it right though!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2008-12-25 23:39:21

when ron leaves would be the best i believe because its near the middle of the book, it leaves a cliff hanger, and its a perfect scene for a movie

When Harry, Ron and Herminoe gets caught by the Death Eaters.
