Potter stuntman injured on Deathly Hallows set
Potter stuntman injured on Deathly Hallows set The Press Association is reporting this evening that a stunt double for Daniel Radcliffe was injured while on the set of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows:

The 25 year old was performing an aerial sequence when he fell to the ground following an explosion which was part of the stunt, the Daily Mirror reported.

An East of England Ambulance Service spokesman confirmed a man in his 20s had been injured on set.

He said: "Paramedics were called to Leavesden Studios after a man in his 20s sustained a significant back injury. He was stabilised at the scene and taken to Watford General Hospital."

The Mirror has a bit more information, adding that the stuntman said he could not feel his legs after falling. A rep from Leavesden Studios, where the Potter films are shot, also confirms the accident.

Our thoughts are with the stuntman and his family and we hope he makes a full recovery. We'll update you when we hear more.

First! I hope he's ok!!

Posted by HarryPotterFreakers Jan 28th 2009

Thats crazy! I hope he's okay (and that he was doing some sweet scene! Explosions and aerial stunts sound cool to me!)

Posted by BatJeff Jan 28th 2009

Ah that's quite unfortunate for the stuntman... I hope he makes a full recovery.

Posted by Slither Jan 28th 2009

Oh noez! I hope the guy is okay. I forgot that DH filming started this week. An accident in the first few days already for Deathly Hallows. I hope the film is not jinxed. ^^; The crew better not be under some last-potter movie curse. XD Get well soon.

Posted by anneband Jan 28th 2009

wow hope the guys alright...does sound like a sweet stunt though

Posted by randomchat Jan 28th 2009

I hope it wasn't a permanent spinal injury....Those are the worst.

Posted by Sirius_Black Jan 28th 2009

Gosh, the scene better be worth it! :O I hope it's not permanent.

Posted by DeathlyH Jan 28th 2009

OH NOES! D: They're filming DH already? WHY MUST THE SERIES END SO SOON?! Also, they're probably filming The Seven Potters sequence.

Posted by malteselover Jan 28th 2009

That's terrible! Only a few days into shooting, and already there is an accident. I hope the stuntman is all right, and that any injury he sustained is not permanent.

Posted by CrooshankspwnsEric Jan 28th 2009

I hope he makes a quick recovery, and doesn't do any crazy stuff like that for a while

Posted by mjhaners Jan 28th 2009

That's bad news.... I really hope that he's not paralized. I think that the scene that they're practicing is the seven potters scene. It's good to here that its action packed. ...

Posted by Lunai Jan 28th 2009

I really, really hope he'll be ok. That sounds serious if he couldn't feel his legs, I hope he makes a full recovery, my thoughts are out to him and his family. Before this gets completely out of hand, I would also like to say that this could turn out very, very bad and it is wrong to sit here and try and figure out 'what scene he was filming' and since someone got hurt, it 'must be really sweet.' That's completely inappropriate, there is a possibility this man may never walk again. Please think before you say something like that.

Posted by hpmonkeyaround92 Jan 28th 2009

THANK ypu Lunai for saying that... seriously??? Someone could have just gotten paralyzed, and people are already thinking... "o... i hope it was a good scene... musta been if he almsot died doing it..." Anyways... i hope that he makes a full speedy recovery.

Posted by IrishCat Jan 28th 2009

Stunt work is so very dangerous, no matter how many precautions are taken and rehearsals there are. My prayers are with him. I hope that his injuries are not serious or permanent! And that he recovers quickly!

Posted by Mmekocat Jan 28th 2009

I hope the stunt man is ok. I find it weird that we do not know the name of this "man" I mean if was Danial Radcliff people would be OMG i am so worried for him but for the stunt double it not the same thing.... I think we should know who this man is I wish him the best and hope that god is with him

Posted by jedi_anegram Jan 28th 2009

hope the guy is going to be okay. Sometimes people can't feel their legs etc , in an accident like this, but it's because of swelling in the area. I"m hoping this is the case for this guy, too, and he recovers fully.

Posted by iwantorlando05 Jan 29th 2009

Gee...i hope he's okay. I didnt know they had already started filming...why would they need stuntmen if the actors aren't even back yet? But i just really hope he gets better.

Posted by SacredBonzai Jan 29th 2009

I hope he is okay!

Posted by pacifickay Jan 29th 2009

While I agree with what Lunai stated earlier, when I first saw this post, the only reason I thought "what scene was that then?" wasn't for my own personal curiosity for the movie or action sequence, but what could lead to such a serious injury. It's obvious what the scene was *coughSevenPotterscough* and THAT is what makes it all the more important because the aerial stunts involved with that scene would be waaay more serious than a prat-fall in the halls of Hogwarts. I truly hope this courageous person recovers and gets back to his life without extensive damage.

Posted by LumosSolem90 Jan 29th 2009

That's right...they've started the filming already..wow.. I hope the stuntman makes a full recovery, he's a brave Gryffindor!

Posted by kooldude10694 Jan 29th 2009

Oh, I hope he's OK and makes a full recovery. The "Oooh, this scene must be good" attitude isn't very nice, but I know my fellow MuggleNetters mean well.

Posted by benmanu Jan 29th 2009

making a harry potter movie can be dangerous then. the thing i don't get is that "aerial scene" is something we see in potter films since the first potter film, i suppose not all quidditch scenes are shot on the ground, so it's odd that this kind of accident happen when they are used to that kind of things for ages. by the way, it's rare to see someone of the harry potter set dies, hope it will happen no more. maybe they will rearrange the scene to prevent that kind of accident.

Posted by Glitterfrost Jan 29th 2009

Oh, I hope he's okay. But LOL. I mean, they're less then a week in and they're already having disaters. This cannot be a good sign. X)

Posted by sesaru Jan 29th 2009

Poor guy... Wish him a full recovery! Yeah, I agree Glitterfrost. I remember Quantum of Solace in which there was even a death during the extreme-action stunt scenes.

Posted by pottertwilight0627 Jan 29th 2009

Poor dude.......hope he doesn't have a full permanant spinal injury! Our thoughts are with him during his full recovery!!!

Posted by alex_c98 Jan 29th 2009

Oh boy, that's one of my worst fears, to get a permanent spinal injury... I actually just shuddered for this guy. I really, really hope everything works out for him, and that they make the stunt less dangerous to prevent anyone else from getting hurt. That's really scary.

Posted by wiltabone Jan 29th 2009

I hope he's alright. Explosions in DH? COOL

Posted by the_shrieking_snack Jan 29th 2009

awww hope the dude doesn't have permanent injuries. :( not many ppl can say they got hurt while shooting an explosion/aerial sequence for the last Harry Potter though. :D that'll be something to tell his kids...

Posted by tonksgirl11 Jan 29th 2009

Way to take one for the team!!! get better soon!! :)

Posted by kooldude10694 Jan 29th 2009

I hope he gets better soon!

Posted by geek42 Jan 29th 2009

I hope this guy has a full recovery. explosions in Deathly Hallows, sweet!!!!!!!

Posted by Dragon_queen4ever Jan 29th 2009

wow, definately not the DH news I was expecting...:O Hope he gets better and nothing permanent happens...and...I hope what ever stunt he injured himself on, was totally worth it 0:-I

Posted by TheElfThatLied Jan 29th 2009

Come on, people. This isn't the time to be saying: "explosions in DH? Cool! Awesome!!" whatever- this guy could be paralysed. Like Lunai said, it isn't appropriate, and I think you're being very insensitive. When I heard this on the news this morning, I got really worried, especially with tabloids over here like Daily Mirror proclaiming: "POTTER STAR GETS BLOWN UP" I mean, really? Way to make things worse for the guy... I also agree with Mmekocat. Sadly, celebrities always get more recognition than the 'little guy', thats just how life goes.

Posted by b_boppin Jan 29th 2009

I really hope that he's doing well. My thoughts best wishes go out to him and his family. Get well soon!

Posted by ecniv08 Jan 29th 2009

i hope he's fine. wish him for a full recovery. on a diff. note, they're doing stunts already for DH?!

Posted by merrymarge Jan 29th 2009

Get well, soon! I hope he makes a full recovery

Posted by wildirishrose Jan 29th 2009

I agree with Lunai... I can't believe people are saying, "explosions, sweet!" That's horrible, the boy could have a permanent spinal injury. If he can't feel his legs, that's very serious. No one would react this way if it were Dan that had been injured. I hope he is able to make a full recovery.

Posted by Lunai Jan 29th 2009

That's what just sickens me. I was on the Leaky comments for this, and people were saying 'It's a good thing Dan doesn't do his own stunts' - as if Dan is any more important that someone else when it comes to this! It's disgusting. Have we heard anything new on his condition?

Posted by Collx3sHP Jan 29th 2009

I hope he's okay! =\

Posted by seventhsoul Jan 29th 2009

That's horrible. I really hope he doesn't have a permanent injury.

Posted by voldy_x3 Jan 29th 2009

ohmygosh. Please make a full recovery! =/

Posted by CuteKrazyKay Jan 29th 2009

He's paralysed. It was just on the news update on channel five here in the U.K. My thoughts are with him and his family during this very emotinal time.

Posted by Padfoot777 Jan 29th 2009

I hope that he fall has not harmed him too badly, that is horrible!

Posted by TheElfThatLied Jan 29th 2009

what? oO @ Lunai...really? So they think that if Dan got paralysed it would be a catastrophe, but just because this guy is his double it doesn't matter? People seriously need to stop hogging after celebrities, it's pathetic. It's not like Dan knows any of them personally or anything, geeze >_>

Posted by Ravenclaw33 Jan 29th 2009

that's crazy! I hope it won't delay filming though.

Posted by luna_loveevil Jan 29th 2009

Woah! I hope he's okay and makes a quick recovery. Poor guy...

Posted by K_nighty_K_night Jan 29th 2009

I really hope he his pulling together ok. He, and of course the rest of the crew, know all the risks. It's just unfortunate that someone made a mistake (even I tiny one) and it resulted in his injury.

Posted by Twin_of_Ron Jan 29th 2009

Sadly the latest reports are that the poor man has been paralyzed . He could not feel his legs but now it has been said over here on the UK news that he is reportedly paralyzed. My thoughts and prayers go out to him and his family today at this bitterly sad time.

Posted by HPALI Jan 29th 2009

Am watching 11PM news in London right now and they said he may be paralysed from the waist down... also that none of the main cast were present!! Hope he get's better..So young
