Emma Watson has reportedly accepted a place to study English at Trinity College, Cambridge University. The report was made by The Varsity, an independently-run Cambridge student newspaper, which added that the actress chose Cambridge over American universities so as to not be too far from her Oxford home. As this has not been confirmed by Emma yet, please consider it a rumor until we update you with more. Thanks to Emily for the tip!

Cant say I blame her for that, its nice to be close to home. It will be interesting to see for sure where she chooses to go.

Why would she choose an American university when both Oxford and Cambridge are just around the corner? Theyre way cooler than any education in the U.S.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-01-30 14:12:04

I would want to stay closer to home, too.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-01-30 14:54:57

well shes super smart isnt she :] well, yeah stay closer to home, emma!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-01-30 14:59:43

When I saw that, I thought it meant that she was going to Harvard or MIT in Mass.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-01-30 15:10:08

i know this has nothing to do with emma, but on the layout thing, the one that says cedric, does it look like theres a Til De on the N in mugglenet to anyone else?

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-01-30 15:11:16

I wonder if she applied to Oxford also. Thatd be really close to her house. From what Ive read, English universities are way cooler. Does that mean she wants to study English?

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-01-30 15:35:27

Cambridge is stronger in Literature Lyra.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-01-30 15:42:49

I think she should go for the liberal arts degree at an American university...but Cambridge is a great school.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-01-30 15:45:03

You cant apply for both, Lyra_Asya, or at least couldnt when I did it a few years ago, and I doubt its changed.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-01-30 15:47:23

Congrats Emma! Its nice and close to home, a great pick for her.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-01-30 16:01:35

of course im so happy for her, but come on, people, how awesome would it be for emma to study in the usa!! lol

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-01-30 16:16:43

Oh, sorry I didnt know. I just assumed that it was like American universities where you can apply to as many as you want. Hmmm... Why is that you cant apply to both? I guess it depends, I heard Oxford was stronger in literature but then again, I really dont know much about either...

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-01-30 18:06:42

kewlllll

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-01-30 18:53:57

Oh, I hope this one is true! Itd be awesome to see her go to college, if only because Im in college myself and college people are cool. :) Especially if she goes to Cambridge. Isnt it really prestigious?

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-01-30 19:22:42

I hope this is true, because this tell us that she is thinking in her future besides acting.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-01-30 19:54:18

Erfa- Youre wrong. I attend the University of Florida....doesnt get much cooler than that. 8-)

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-01-30 22:12:13

I spose it all depends on what youre looking for... Whatever university she goes to, I hope it works out good for her. I admire her for furthering her education despite her film success...

She said she wanted to go to an American university, does this mean she didnt get to enter? I think she should wait until the last HP film is finished because she is going to do is delay the filming of the movie.

Actually, ASnidget, Oxford is traditionally better in literature and liberal arts, whereas Cambridge is better reputed for its sciences. But Im pretty sure she chose Cambridge over Oxford because it wasnt where she grew up. Im at Oxford right now, and Ive seen her once or twice in clubs, she must be happy to be able to switch it up a bit and go to Cambridge.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-01-31 16:37:52

I dont think is completely true because at my school (The American School in London) Emma Watson took the SATs only last week. A lot of my friends saw her and were so distracted they could hardly even take the test!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-01-31 17:08:36

Maybe she hasnt accepted yet but she got in?? It would be weird to accept a place at Cambridge but then take the SATs anyway...

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-01-31 21:24:21

up2nogood , booo for UF! haha jk. im at UCF :P taking the SAT leaves her options open just in case. she really has nothing to lose by taking it. and wow i cant imagine trying to take it sitting in the same room as emma watson, haha.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-02-01 02:49:08

Can you imagine the madness that would be caused by Emma going to an American school. Crazy Harry Potter fans would be flocking to whatever school she was attending. Woot Liberal Arts! LOL thats what my BA is in (well liberal studies actually). Hehe :) I only went to Cal State Fullerton though (GO TITANS!). Yay for state schools!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-02-01 08:54:06

I hope she has taken up the offer - Ive accepted a place to study English at Cambridge and Ill be starting at the same time as her, so I guess Id be in some of her classes! Itd be cool to meet her :)

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-02-01 10:21:44

Id be shocked if she chose the american schools and if she chose UW Madison, here in Wisconsin! :) Thats only like an hour away from where I live! :D Thatd be wicked sweet! :P But, I get her point too for wanting to stay close to home. Whatever she chooses, Im sure shell do great! :)
