The 2009 New York City Toy Fair took place over the weekend, and NECA (known by us for their Potter merchandise) had a great Harry Potter display. CoolToyReview.com took pictures of said display, and you can view them right here. The most interesting thing they had to show off this year was a new Fenrir Greyback action figure. Other items on display included their complete set of action figures and miscellaneous toys. You can see NECA's entire catalog of Potter merchandise right here. Thanks to Thodoris for the tip!

i really hope he doesnt look like this in the movie.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-02-15 16:09:49

Lupin_Black Im just curious... what did you expect him to look like then? I have a full mug shot photo of Greyback and hes awesome!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-02-15 16:28:31

Ewww. Exactly my thoughts too. But luckily, according to the book, were supposed to think "eww" when we see Greyback. So they did something right, although its not exactly how i pictured him.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-02-15 16:32:20

The guy who plays the cannibal/werewolf Fenrir Greyback used to be a cage wrestler

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-02-15 16:55:09

Is it just me or does the toy look like a hairy Juggernaut from X-men. I hope Fenrir Greyback doesnt look like that in the movie.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-02-15 17:00:52

Why Cherrysakura5??? Is it because he looks to intimidating for our DEAR Harry? LOL

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-02-15 17:57:27

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-02-15 19:15:20

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-02-15 19:15:51

Hes ok ... not really how I imagined him though ..

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-02-15 19:17:14

He kind of looks like Fat Bastard from austin powers.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-02-15 19:47:08

that is not how i pictured greyback. lol

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-02-15 20:21:38

Greyback looks like a badly drawn comic book interpretation of Norman Osborn from the old Spider-Man comics. im the supernerd!!!!!!!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-02-15 20:43:43

haha he looks like alec baldwin. :P

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-02-15 21:55:16

I think that is how the guy looks in that one movie pic we got of Greyback... so why wouldnt the toy look like the guy from the movie? I think it looks fine. He is definately creepy!!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-02-15 23:47:45

weird!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-02-16 01:48:31

I normally dont have a problem with them changing what character look like...for example, from the trailers Slughorn looks awesome- but I really hope that Greyback in the movie doesnt look this. Not that hes too creepy...just too weird. I pictured him with ragged grey hair, scars, and a less of a ridiculously huge chin... Then again, I hate Lupins moustache so maybe its just a werewolf thing.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-02-16 03:21:32

It has a card saying, "NOT FINAL", it front of the action figure.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-02-16 08:36:52

He looks a little creepy haha.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-02-16 09:28:19

he looks like a balding werewolf from the matrix or sumthing haha

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-02-16 09:38:34

I expected him to be thinner, but I would assume he is unlike any other werewolf considering he is 24/7 bad. He looks very xmen though haha. Going to be an intimidating character

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-02-16 10:04:45

I pictured Greyback very lean and hunched a bit, long finger nails, with a mass of grey hair covering his face and an overall look of depravity, this makes him look to be like some type of xmen incarnation, or i supposed like the actor playing him, a former fighter.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-02-16 10:59:32

I think its weird that Fenrir of all people (or not quite people) gets an action figure. And this is slightly irrelevant, but congrats MuggleNet on beating Leaky to the story. :)

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-02-16 11:27:15

I pictured him as a lot thinner & rougher as well, but since hes like the main werewolf I suppose he has to have a powerful presence.... I agree with the X-Men reference though haha!! I wonder if hes going to have a big role in the film since theyve made a toy of him???

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-02-16 11:47:31

Ugh! That one was just plain ugly! I know he isnt a beauty, but that was just wrong

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-02-16 11:53:45

Its not what I thought . He looks more like a thug or an Xmen than anything else . Sounds wierd but for me hes too human

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-02-16 12:36:55

HEY EVERYONE! FENRIR GREYBACK IS GONNA BE IN 3 SCENES! THE BEGINNING WHERE HE KIDNAPS OLLIVANDER IN DIAGON ALLEY, THE MIDDLE WHERE HE ATTACKS THE BURROW WITH BELLATRIX, AND THE END WHEN HE WITNESSES DUMBLEDORES DEATH.. SO HIS PART IS AS MAJOR AS BELLATRIX! YAY! HELLBOY MEETS WEREWOLF! ;)

Can you guys do me a favor and watch this vid :), http://www.youtube.co m/watch?v=3SA8WF1xAq0&fea ture=PlayList&p=00A0999B2 B906B5B&index=0 ,thank s

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-02-16 13:40:36

Thanks Phoenixknighter :) Two of those arent in the book ... COOL !! Does anyone know why The Burrow is attacked?

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-02-16 13:48:08

Yeah Twin_of_Ron , you may recall watching the Japanese trailer the Death Eaters attacked diagon Alley, and you saw Fenrir Greyback pulling someones hair.. now the audience is NOT supposed to know that theyre are after Ollivander (DH SPOILERS lol) they dont even show Mr. Ollivander except for a bag over his head, so it could be anyone. Now the reason why The Battle at the Burrow is included is for 3 main reasons. Firstly, David Yates didnt want to repeat anything, and the Astronomy Tower Battle is just repeated by the GREAT Battle of Hogwarts, so Yates sacrificed that minor scene for this. After DDs Death, itll just be Bella, and Death Eaters having fun blowing up stuff, then Harry comes and tries to fight Snape as theyre leaving. 2nd reason is that Yates wanted to show that NO place is safe anymore, not even the Burrow. and 3rd, it was a great scene that would help develop the Harry/Ginny relationship, since theyre the only teens fighting Bella and Greyback, with Arthur, Tonks, and Lupin. Ron and Hermione will not partake in the battle.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-02-16 13:52:59

Thats not what I imangined him to look like.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-02-16 13:58:07

Thanks , PhoenixKnighter . I like the last 2 reasons especially trying to show that no place is safe , thats really clever . Im also excited about the attack on the Burrow . My only concern is that the scene where Dumbledore dies may now be quite weak and not as forceful ( if that is the right word ? ) as it could be . Just a thought I hope I am wrong

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-02-16 15:04:29

Im pretty sure the Fenrir Greyback in the movie doesnt look exactly like this they just change it to make it fit with the book description while keeping the look of the movie one because in the movie he looks thinner and more taller, like a strong beast thing but the toy makes him look fat and short.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-02-16 16:42:02

Id swear his right hand looks like its in the particular shape to hold a wand. Isnt he not allowed to have a wand, i.e. (DH SPOILER) when someone else has to call Voldy in the Manor. Or is that just because he doesnt have the dark mark?

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-02-16 17:25:46

Yeah, Twin_of_Ron the ending is going to be a PURE tragedy, and therell be no chance of fighting or redemption like in OOTP. Thats what Yates wanted the ending to be, so bring boxes of tissue, cuz the ending is going to be REAL sad.. It still BAFFLES me that this movie is PG, im still in denial, maybe PG is the new PG-13, and PG-13 is R lol. Even the makers of the VideoGame had a hard time. They said with NO battle in the end, it was gonna be difficult for them to make the ending on DDs Death followed by Snape vs. Harry, it would be too tragic, hard and intense for the kids. My suggestion is enough with the E rating.. make it T for Teens!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-02-17 02:25:55

Absolutely wrong. I agree with Damacus. I think Greyback should have the graying longish hair, old and haggard, with the scars. I know they have to use computer animation, but he looks like the Hulk. VERY badly done. But, hey, if this is the only thing I complain about this movie, then Ill consider it the best one.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-02-17 05:50:43

lol , Phoenixknighter hopefully ! Maybe it will be changed closer to the date ? .... Hopefully

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-02-17 11:18:36

Yeah, cuz theyre spoiling us WAYY too much, lol

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-02-17 12:13:48

ugh. He looks like a biker gone to seed, who is now having a mid-life crisis and trying to re-live his glory days...

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-02-17 15:26:46

... random . Could be true though lol. Yeah , Phoenixknighter ! Well know the film by July :P
