NECA premieres new Greyback action figure at Toy Fair
NECA premieres new Greyback action figure at Toy Fair The 2009 New York City Toy Fair took place over the weekend, and NECA (known by us for their Potter merchandise) had a great Harry Potter display.

CoolToyReview.com took pictures of said display, and you can view them right here. The most interesting thing they had to show off this year was a new Fenrir Greyback action figure. Other items on display included their complete set of action figures and miscellaneous toys.

You can see NECA's entire catalog of Potter merchandise right here. Thanks to Thodoris for the tip!

Kind of a weird toy. First!

Posted by phoenixknighter Feb 15th 2009

cool werewolf! He's gonna kick-ass and rock the house in HBP!

Posted by Monkey0 Feb 15th 2009

Eww...

Posted by wiltabone Feb 15th 2009

I agree with Monkey0

Posted by Lupin_Black Feb 15th 2009

i really hope he doesn't look like this in the movie.

Posted by phoenixknighter Feb 15th 2009

Lupin_Black I'm just curious... what did you expect him to look like then? I have a full mug shot photo of Greyback and he's awesome!

Posted by Feathery_Golden_Snidget Feb 15th 2009

Ewww. Exactly my thoughts too. But luckily, according to the book, we're supposed to think "eww" when we see Greyback. So they did something right, although it's not exactly how i pictured him.

Posted by phoenixknighter Feb 15th 2009

The guy who plays the cannibal/werewolf Fenrir Greyback used to be a cage wrestler

Posted by Cherrysakura5 Feb 15th 2009

Is it just me or does the toy look like a hairy Juggernaut from X-men. I hope Fenrir Greyback doesn't look like that in the movie.

Posted by phoenixknighter Feb 15th 2009

Why Cherrysakura5??? Is it because he looks to intimidating for our DEAR Harry? LOL

Posted by severus_snape15 Feb 15th 2009

cool

Posted by alexxx Feb 15th 2009

he's sorta creeeeepy

Posted by Twin_of_Ron Feb 15th 2009

He's ok ... not really how I imagined him though ..

Posted by roadtripkaraoke Feb 15th 2009

He kind of looks like Fat Bastard from austin powers.

Posted by citylove3583 Feb 15th 2009

that is not how i pictured greyback. lol

Posted by mugglelover927 Feb 15th 2009

Greyback looks like a badly drawn comic book interpretation of Norman Osborn from the old Spider-Man comics. im the supernerd!!!!!!!

Posted by citylove3583 Feb 15th 2009

haha he looks like alec baldwin. :P

Posted by hpintwense06 Feb 15th 2009

I think that is how the guy looks in that one movie pic we got of Greyback... so why wouldn't the toy look like the guy from the movie? I think it looks fine. He is definately creepy!!

Posted by merry_sa Feb 15th 2009

weird!

Posted by Damacus Feb 16th 2009

I normally don't have a problem with them changing what character look like...for example, from the trailers Slughorn looks awesome- but I really hope that Greyback in the movie doesn't look this. Not that he's too creepy...just too weird. I pictured him with ragged grey hair, scars, and a less of a ridiculously huge chin... Then again, I hate Lupin's moustache so maybe it's just a werewolf thing.

Posted by Nirvana89 Feb 16th 2009

It has a card saying, "NOT FINAL", it front of the action figure.

Posted by Collx3sHP Feb 16th 2009

He looks a little creepy haha.

Posted by krazykobra29 Feb 16th 2009

he looks like a balding werewolf from the matrix or sumthing haha

Posted by elfwoo2 Feb 16th 2009

I expected him to be thinner, but I would assume he is unlike any other werewolf considering he is 24/7 bad. He looks very xmen though haha. Going to be an intimidating character

Posted by Lupin_Black Feb 16th 2009

I pictured Greyback very lean and hunched a bit, long finger nails, with a mass of grey hair covering his face and an overall look of depravity, this makes him look to be like some type of xmen incarnation, or i supposed like the actor playing him, a former fighter.

Posted by hptwilighter Feb 16th 2009

I think it's weird that Fenrir of all people (or not quite people) gets an action figure. And this is slightly irrelevant, but congrats MuggleNet on beating Leaky to the story. :)

Posted by Her_my_nee Feb 16th 2009

I pictured him as a lot thinner & rougher as well, but since he's like the main werewolf I suppose he has to have a powerful presence.... I agree with the X-Men reference though haha!! I wonder if he's going to have a big role in the film since they've made a toy of him???

Posted by Eline_Maria Feb 16th 2009

Ugh! That one was just plain ugly! I know he isn't a beauty, but that was just wrong

Posted by Twin_of_Ron Feb 16th 2009

It's not what I thought . He looks more like a thug or an Xmen than anything else . Sounds wierd but for me he's too human

Posted by phoenixknighter Feb 16th 2009

HEY EVERYONE! FENRIR GREYBACK IS GONNA BE IN 3 SCENES! THE BEGINNING WHERE HE KIDNAPS OLLIVANDER IN DIAGON ALLEY, THE MIDDLE WHERE HE ATTACKS THE BURROW WITH BELLATRIX, AND THE END WHEN HE WITNESSES DUMBLEDORE'S DEATH.. SO HIS PART IS AS MAJOR AS BELLATRIX! YAY! HELLBOY MEETS WEREWOLF! ;)

Posted by WeasleyTwin Feb 16th 2009

Can you guys do me a favor and watch this vid :), http://www.youtube.co m/watch?v=3SA8WF1xAq0&fea ture=PlayList&p=00A0999B2 B906B5B&index=0 ,thank s

Posted by Twin_of_Ron Feb 16th 2009

Thanks Phoenixknighter :) Two of those aren't in the book ... COOL !! Does anyone know why The Burrow is attacked?

Posted by phoenixknighter Feb 16th 2009

Yeah Twin_of_Ron , you may recall watching the Japanese trailer the Death Eaters attacked diagon Alley, and you saw Fenrir Greyback pulling someone's hair.. now the audience is NOT supposed to know that they're are after Ollivander (DH SPOILERS lol) they don't even show Mr. Ollivander except for a bag over his head, so it could be anyone. Now the reason why The Battle at the Burrow is included is for 3 main reasons. Firstly, David Yates didn't want to repeat anything, and the Astronomy Tower Battle is just repeated by the GREAT Battle of Hogwarts, so Yates sacrificed that minor scene for this. After DD's Death, it'll just be Bella, and Death Eaters having fun blowing up stuff, then Harry comes and tries to fight Snape as they're leaving. 2nd reason is that Yates wanted to show that NO place is safe anymore, not even the Burrow. and 3rd, it was a great scene that would help develop the Harry/Ginny relationship, since they're the only teens fighting Bella and Greyback, with Arthur, Tonks, and Lupin. Ron and Hermione will not partake in the battle.

Posted by chommy Feb 16th 2009

That's not what I imangined him to look like.

Posted by Twin_of_Ron Feb 16th 2009

Thanks , PhoenixKnighter . I like the last 2 reasons especially trying to show that no place is safe , that's really clever . I'm also excited about the attack on the Burrow . My only concern is that the scene where Dumbledore dies may now be quite weak and not as forceful ( if that is the right word ? ) as it could be . Just a thought I hope I am wrong

Posted by WeasleyTwin Feb 16th 2009

Im pretty sure the Fenrir Greyback in the movie doesn't look exactly like this they just change it to make it fit with the book description while keeping the look of the movie one because in the movie he looks thinner and more taller, like a strong beast thing but the toy makes him look fat and short.

Posted by HaleyPotter Feb 16th 2009

I'd swear his right hand looks like it's in the particular shape to hold a wand. Isn't he not allowed to have a wand, i.e. (DH SPOILER) when someone else has to call Voldy in the Manor. Or is that just because he doesn't have the dark mark?

Posted by phoenixknighter Feb 16th 2009

Yeah, Twin_of_Ron the ending is going to be a PURE tragedy, and there'll be no chance of fighting or redemption like in OOTP. That's what Yates wanted the ending to be, so bring boxes of tissue, cuz the ending is going to be REAL sad.. It still BAFFLES me that this movie is PG, i'm still in denial, maybe PG is the new PG-13, and PG-13 is R lol. Even the makers of the VideoGame had a hard time. They said with NO battle in the end, it was gonna be difficult for them to make the ending on DD's Death followed by Snape vs. Harry, it would be too tragic, hard and intense for the kids. My suggestion is enough with the E rating.. make it T for Teens!

Posted by sweetredneck28 Feb 17th 2009

Absolutely wrong. I agree with Damacus. I think Greyback should have the graying longish hair, old and haggard, with the scars. I know they have to use computer animation, but he looks like the Hulk. VERY badly done. But, hey, if this is the only thing I complain about this movie, then I'll consider it the best one.

Posted by Twin_of_Ron Feb 17th 2009

lol , Phoenixknighter hopefully ! Maybe it will be changed closer to the date ? .... Hopefully

Posted by phoenixknighter Feb 17th 2009

Yeah, cuz they're spoiling us WAYY too much, lol

Posted by Renali Feb 17th 2009

ugh. He looks like a biker gone to seed, who is now having a mid-life crisis and trying to re-live his glory days...

Posted by Twin_of_Ron Feb 17th 2009

... random . Could be true though lol. Yeah , Phoenixknighter ! We'll know the film by July :P
