Gas leak at Wizarding World causes short evacuation
Gas leak at Wizarding World causes short evacuation Construction at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter theme park in Universal Studios today caused a gas leak that left part of the Lost Continent area closed for a short time. As the Orlando Sentinel reports:

Construction on the forthcoming Wizarding World of Harry Potter ride caused a gas leak at about 2 p.m.

As a precaution, Universal evacuated guests from part of the Lost Continent portion of its Islands of Adventure theme park and called the fire department, according to Tom Schroder, a spokesman for Universal Studios.

The leak was capped by 2:15 p.m. and the park since resumed normal operations, Schroder said.

Thanks to Nicole for the tip.

oh geeze, that's no good!! Wonder how they managed that? They must have hit an underground gas line while doing construction...perhaps. Anyways, glad they fixed it and it didn't blow the Wizarding World up. haha

heyy guess what i had a carbon monoxide leak in my house yesterday!!!

Posted by DraconianDevil Feb 22nd 2009

That was close. What's next? The Wizarding World partly must close down due to a strange mist clouding the grounds? LOL! Really, 'curses' would be a turn on with all the kids relying on a wonderful bewitched entertainment site. The constructors will take all precautions to protect it though.
