It's been out in the UK for ages and I know someone who refused to buy the hardback but still managed to keep the book from being spoiled. When it was released you could buy it for about £2.50. When the hardback came out you could get it for about £9.00.

Posted by adawgg23 Jul 25th 2006

o man there is no news anymore. all the spoilers are dried up

It's only $5.84 at Walmart, plus 97cent shipping if you buy it online.

Posted by Topazz Jul 25th 2006

yay! another reason to celebrate the harry potter phenomenon!!!

Posted by Cate Jul 25th 2006

Who cares? Why is it always BIG news when something happens in the US? I hate that! It's like no-one else in the world matters at all! Everything has to be American or it is not reported! If it's another country, it gets a little add on note if it's lucky! This really boils my blood.

Posted by DecemberDrops Jul 25th 2006

You know, I don't think I can bear to watch another Harry book snap to pieces. I may just stick with the hardcover, but even that one's mutilated!

Posted by FaithInSnape Jul 25th 2006

It's my birkyday today and so I got myself a paperback copy of HBP! It's so pretty! :P

Posted by foroyar Jul 26th 2006

Posted by TDeSou Jul 26th 2006

Why is everyone acting like its such a big surprise??? Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince has been out in paper-back in Austrlia for months! ITS JUST ANOTHER HP BOOK IN ANOTHER FORM!!!! ITS NOT LIKE FRIGGIN' BOOK 7 HAS BEEN RELEASED!!!!! Get a life guys! It's so pathetic, now, I wonder why it's only just being released in America. I was in Koh Samui, Thailand last week and they had HBP in paper-back there too. Poor inocent pathetic Americans, I raise my hat to you all. Just kidding, you yanks are okay, really.
