HBP in paperback hits American shelves The paperback edition of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince was released today in the United States. Save yourself a journey to the bookstore by purchasing it online at Amazon for only $9.99.

USA Today reports an initial print-run of two million copies and says that if this book follows the same pattern as the first five, it should reach #1 on the bestsellers list.

Foroyar, why are you that if you waited? My friend didn't want to have all of them in paperback and then one in hardback. She managed to avoid all spoilers and enjoyed the book as much as everyone else.

I really don't see the point in releasing the paper book so long after the hard backed one is realeased. Whoever wants to read and perchase the book has already purchased it. Unless you don't want to pay good money for a good- long-lasting book.

Most of my hp books are paperback, but I really need to get them in hardback because they are getting really worn out from reading them so often. My 3rd hp book is torn in half right now. Don't worry, I didn't do that on purpose! It just fell apart!
