New Wizarding World report looks at competitions
New Wizarding World report looks at competitions Yesterland.com, a very popular theme park site, has a new article looking at the progress on The Wizarding World of Harry Potter Theme Park, and what other parks in Florida (mainly Disney World) may do to compete.

They also look at the giant cement building that is going up at Wizarding World, and speculate what it could be used for:

It’s hard to get a sense of scale from the photos. Actually, it’s hard to get a real sense of scale in person. It’s probably bigger than looks, even in person. What the big box already shows is that Universal wasn’t kidding about the size and scope of “The Wizarding World of Harry Potter.”

The park is currently scheduled to open up sometime in 2010. For all we've got on the park, click here!

Dude, those pics look awesome! I so can't wait--even though I'll be 20 when the park opens (nearing 21), I'm gonna be flying through that place acting like I'm 10!! This is super exciting, can't wait. You go Universal Studios, you go!

I have been to both Disney World and Universal and I like Disney World way more. I think they could have done Harry Potter a lot more justice. But I am still happy with what Universal is doing. So far everything has looked amazing and I cant wait to go.

I think Disney is better too. But I think Universal is doing a wonderful job. But wait a sec... I thought we were going to be able to go inside Hogwarts?? =/ so... it's just for show??

Disney can always extend the free ticket on your bday deal.

Sounds as if Universal will do the area justice - rumor has it that Hogwarts will be on a scale large enough to make it a park icon similar to the Disney castle. I just hope too many aren't disappointed because the area keeps being referred to as a "theme park" - it's just one area of an existing park, like Adventureland or Frontierland. Still, I'm looking forward to eating in the Great Hall.

I don't know who Maxime thinks she's kidding. If Hagrid's half-giant, she definately is. Big bones... the only thing that's got bigger bones than her is a dinosaur.
