OOTP filming at Blenheim Palace grounds
The Oxford Mail reports that filming for the Order of the Phoenix movie took place recently in the grounds of Blenheim Palace. Although the filming crew declined comment on the situation, the newspaper says that filming took place near a lake in the park and Daniel Radcliffe was present.

Posted by Clamshell Jul 27th 2006

What on earth would they be filming there? I wonder... Oh I figured it out! Wait... Nope, no idea. Or maybe..? Nope, still clueless.

Posted by PatronusGrim Jul 27th 2006

I can't even say how exited for the movie i am. top 12

Posted by reddiej Jul 27th 2006

Not that hard to figure out. Only important scenes in front of the Hogwarts lake was the Marauders scene (which is one of the scenes shot there), and that scene in the last chapter where Harry's reminiscing over Sirius by the lake. I'm glad both of them are in there.

Posted by dalhia15 Jul 27th 2006

y shhot there?? mayb theyr there cause of... actually they cant. i was thinkin of dumbledores funeral, bt thats book 6...i seriously dont no...ahhh, this is drivin me crazy!!!!!!! 384 days left till the movie....cant wait!!!!! top 20, hahaha, im gettin lucky!!!!!!!

Posted by missinconspicuous Jul 27th 2006

"The film is said to be darker in tone than the previous movies in the series." Have they not read the books? Of course it is!

Posted by alexE333 Jul 27th 2006

Sweet always good to here about filming. I wonder what parts they're doing?!?!?!

Posted by Mrs_Finnegan Jul 27th 2006

awesome! I always love hearing about filming, it means there one step closer to finishing. I wonder what part they are doing?

Posted by HPgurl4eva Jul 27th 2006

The Ministry of Magic?? I'm clueless...

Posted by HP_fan81 Jul 27th 2006

Interesting... I really must read the book again. Why are they filming at that lake and not the lake that was in POA? Well, the castle looks awsome, but I suppose they will only show the lake. I am very happy that they are filming again!!!

Posted by snowowl Jul 27th 2006

It is great to see new news about the filming OOTP!

Posted by Splizzash Jul 27th 2006

Dude, that's exactly how I picture the house of that old, fat lady who Riddle visits in book 6; the one with Hufflepuff's whatever and Slytherine's locket. Darn, well then it will probably not look like that in the 6th movie then.

Posted by quidditchplayer Jul 27th 2006

So they are already filming again, then Dan's vacation was really short. It looks like this is the first time they film in this place. it's really beautiful, I've seen the pics in that site and I think it's perfect for the movie. Plus, this means there is at least one of the scenes near the lake!

Posted by hpfan618 Jul 27th 2006

maybe its for the scene by the lake with the mauraders, harry, and snape... the memory! thatd be perfect for it!

Posted by laughingeyes927 Jul 27th 2006

OH MY GOD!!!!!! I'VE BEEN THERE!!!!!!!!!! I lived in Charlbury, England which is only a few minutes from Woodstock! My family and I went to Blenheim Palace sight seeing, and spent the whole day there! It was beautiful. I remember the outside of the entrance was like this huge stone like...I wanna say patio but that is NOT the right word at all. Like gargoyles and orangish stone and stuff. I remember we pronounced it wrong- we said Blen-HIGHm but it's Blen-IM. I can't believe this! This is awesome! It was such a beautiful place, and perfect for Harry Potter. I can't wait to see the movie, and see how they use the palace!

Posted by marsisbrighttonight Jul 27th 2006

Yay update! I wonder what scenes theyre shooting there...

Posted by Kareen Jul 27th 2006

Hmm... a lake? But still at the palace? Very interesting. I wonder if maybe it's the scene where Harry leaves Hagrid's hut and goes and sits by the lake so he can be by himself. Oh well... I guess I'll have to wait and find out.

Posted by Flannychan Jul 27th 2006

Makes me think of the Ministry, but that's underground... Now I'm really curious. Bad and good news about the movie succeed each other very rapidly.

Posted by michael_xxx10 Jul 27th 2006

I'M THINKING MINISTRY DUE TO IN THE BOOK IT SAYING THAT IT IS REALLY GRAND ETC. IM THINKING THE CHASE OF BELLA AND THE FIGHT WITH DUMBLEDORE.

Posted by GoGoGryffindor Jul 27th 2006

thats so pretty... I'm guessing it might the Snape's worst memory scene by the lake or near the end where Harry's thinking about Sirius after he goes 2 see Hagrid.. i can't wait for July '07!!!

Posted by spattergroit Jul 27th 2006

OH MY GOSH. It's so beautiful!! I want to go there. Now. It would be a plus to see Dan. lol. I can't wait to see what they use it for. 350 days, 9 hours, and 35 minutes.

Posted by TriilianAstra Jul 27th 2006

Ah, Blenheim... Great place, go there v.often (especially to see the horse trials in September!), and I live close by. According to our local radio station, they used it for the Snape's Worst Memory scene, because it had a perfect tree by the lake... Johnny Depp filmed some stuff from The Libertine there a few years ago - hundreds of people turned up to try and see him. I wonder if they did the same for the HP crew?

Posted by mighty Jul 27th 2006

I've never seen this place before, but the pics on their site are beautiful! Hmmm...what would they have filmed there? The lake scene? The Ministry? Both are good guesses. Number 12 Grimmauld Place? Ummm...no.

Posted by skates Jul 27th 2006

Awesome. It must be a really important scene for Dan to be there in person. Can't wait for the movie !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by indiansummersky Jul 27th 2006

Awesome. Blenheim Palace is just beautiful.

Posted by indiansummersky Jul 27th 2006

Awesome. Blenheim Palace is just beautiful.

Posted by Nocca Jul 27th 2006

Well, Dan *is* acting the main character so it doesn't necessarily have to be an important scene...And we have confirmation that it is The Worst Memory scene...more interesting by the day, no?

Posted by Nocca Jul 27th 2006

Ughh. I just read the article....why must they pretend that they know what they're talking about? Research people, research...if you're going write an article, read the books! It's not that hard! Of course it's going to be darker! *exasperated sigh*

Posted by Sariza Jul 27th 2006

Saweet!!!

Posted by bookwormoakes Jul 28th 2006

WHAT!!!??? Is this really true??? "The 16-year-old actor, Daniel Radcliffe, who portrays as Harry Potter had recently declared that he doesn’t want to continue playing the role of Harry Potter and want that Harry Potter should come to an end. The actor said, "I would like Harry to die at the end of that seventh book. I think it would be a very good ending if he had to die in order for evil Voldemort to die". The actor also confessed that he likes to perform as Harry Potter but interested to take up another projects as well." IS DAN REALLY GOING TO STOP PLAYING HARRY AFTER THE FIFTH MOVIE?? IS THIS JUST A RUMOR???
