The Daily Mail is reporting that Jamie Campbell Bower, most recently known for his role in Sweeney Todd, is in final negotiations to play Grindelwald in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
Please note that this is strictly a rumor for now, and no representatives are talking yet. Some fans may note that Jamie was recently cast as Caius in the second Twilight film New Moon. As always, we'll keep you updated!

Okay, before all the anti-twilight people start veto-ing him because hes going to be in the next twilight movie, may i just say that Rob Pattinson was a main character in HPGOF and a main character in Twilight, so there is already that connection. Many actors do many different roles in there life time, most do what ever they can get. I dont know if I picture Bower (his name isnt brown, btw) as Grindelwald, but i think he could do a good job, if he is cast.

So, what if an actor/actress has been in TWO teen orientated films? They have a job to do and need to earn money. Good on them for landing roles in high profile films! My 13-year -old loved him as Anthony in "Sweeney Todd" [also full of Harry Potter cast]. She was excited about him being in the second "Twilight" movie because she was so disappointed in the first even though she liked the books. Having him in "Deathly Hallows" would be a plus. My kids will sometimes watch a movie full of British actors if they can cross-reference HP actors. I am just continually astounded at the caliber of talent that continues to be part of the Harry Potter family.

Seriously, the whole twilight thing, its super pathetic guys. Just because an actor is in a movie doesnt mean they like it...like Keanu Reeves said he didnt like the 3rd Matrix movie... so whatever.
Just because he was in twilight doesnt make him like un-actable. Like Taylor Lautner is a perfectly good actor, hes one of the few who can act in that movie, or at least acted well.
It shouldnt matter what hes done before. Sweeny Todd, Then New Moon, now DH. DH is a step up from NM, so be happy!

I absolutely adore him and did adore him in Sweeney Todd. Its interesting how the HP Casting Crew seems to have a knack for the ST actors (Helena Bonham Carter who plays Bellatrix, Alan Rickman who plays Snape, and Timothy Spall who plays Wormtail). I do know that the majority of these characters were cast in HP before in ST, but it is an nteresting coincidence.
If Jamie Campbell Bower does play Grindelwauld, Im curious as to who will be playing young Dumbledore...

After seeing Sweeney Todd, I actually started to wonder whether or not he would ever be cast as part of the Harry Potter saga. I think that if the rumors are true, he would be an interesting choice for Grindelwald, although Im not totally convinced. It may be because of the fact that I didnt like his performance in Sweeney Todd all that much. He came off as a wimpy sort of person. The character of Grindelwald needs a strong personality because he was a huge part of the HP saga.

There was recently a convention for both Harry Potter AND Twilight in my area called Accio Con. I was invited. I didnt go. The comments here illustrate why.

Ya--in a library near where I am there was apparently a debate between Harry Potter and Twilight, and I read that Harry Potter thoroughly defeated Twilight. Just thought Id add that.

So I was just reading some more previous comments and a lot of them are really immature. People are calling Rob a traitor because he did Twilight and dont want Jamie because hell be in Twilight...Okay how old are you guys?
Grow up and get over it.
Saying Harry Potter is better than Twilight is not a fact its only an opinion. I personally like the Twilight series better but thats just me.

And who cares what movie hes previously been in. I would think that people wouldnt care and would just want the actor best fit for the role. Maybe Im crazy but it really shouldnt matter to people who truly love the books.

As a fan of BOTH series, it does get very tiring having to listen to people trash talk each other! Some say that they are being more "loyal" to potter since they didnt go over to "the dark side." Really, both books have great qualities, although different, and honestly, if twilighters really stopped trashing the movie for five seconds and considered the meaning of the word CREATIVE LICENSE maybe they wouldnt hate it as much!
I love both series, and though Ive long ago given up trying to change the minds of people who are iron set in their opinions, I still continue to hope that maybe the feud will settle down...were all book lovers at heart here! Yet were acting no better then the Montagues and Capulets!

You gotta understand this IS a Harry Potter website... Therefore many fans obviously believe in the superiority of Potter, just like on a Twilight website the same would occur for them. I think that he would be okay but I wish it would be someone new that could play the characters...

@Raezing: Montagues and Capulets? Come on now. I know the Potter-Twilight war can be fierce, but this is nothing. Independantly considering the fact that a character from the final films which plays some significant parts in terms of plot and character development in OUR series (Potter) is being portrayed by the same actor as a character in Twilight is HARDLY fighting. People can get immature, sure, and claim one is stupid or pointless of "END OF THE WORLD" or how they hate one series. I dislike Twilight, and I love Harry Potter. But I dont really give a darn what other people think about them or me. I love and hate what I do. But this is not fiery, at all, this is tame. And everyones allowed to voice their opinion on such an obvious issue - why was it even mentioned to begin with? Cause its in the very article to begin with. Obviously its worth noticing, and thus discussing. Montagues and Capulets? Welcome to civilized discussion.
