JK Rowling steps down from MS Society Scotland
JK Rowling steps down from MS Society Scotland Fans may remember that she has played a big role in raising for Multiple Sclerosis research, and today we've learned that Jo has stepped down as patron of MS Society Scotland. This, after she revealed she cannot "in good conscience, continue to be the public face of a charity that is changing beyond recognition from the one with which I have been so proud to be associated."

You can read a longer statement from Jo, as well as a response from MS Society Scotland, at this link.

oh...too bad. I'm glad she is still giving money though.

that's too bad she had to quit a charity she really cared about. that's just what I was going to say though, HeRonfan, the countdown is now out of the triple digits!!!

Too sad :( But you did a fantastic job!

I feel really bad about this. This must be extremely stressful for everyone involved.

This is a really big deal. I can't believe that Jamie's pot endeavors are getting more attention than this article. It must be hard to leave an organization that you have put your heart into for many years. :(

it must of been pretty hard, and to loose your Mother to the disease too.... I know someone with MS and her right side is paralyzed. Well i'm glad she is still giving money

after knowing her for 10 years the board member of who ever theyh are still call her JK Rowling? i dunnu i just found that to be weird. I d think this news is much more importna than the drug scandal crabbe's got... this is real sad for dedicated people of a charity to step down and become demoralised...

I wonder why she did it. Like what the organization was doing to make her do it
