Yeah I actually doubt he will play the role nude as well. But hey, you never know. He may just want to draw complete attention away from him as Harry Potter and show people he's willing to do a wide range of roles, and this would certainly be far from HP.

It is entirely possible that he is and actor, smartperson, you know, not someone who takes roles that are entirely normal/like themselves/the roles we like them in. He'd doing what he does: act.

I'm familiar with this play (Anthony Hopkins, among other famous British actors have starred in it during various points in their career), and it is a VERY mature play! This will be a great chance for Dan to prove once and for all he CAN ACT!

Nude or not, this is an extremely intense play, and good for Dan for taking it on! Despite the magic and wonder of Harry Potter itself, the role of Harry, a good-hearted teenager struggling to grow up when everyone in the world knows who he is and judges his every move, really isn't much of a stretch for him. This play will give him a chance to really prove himself as an actor.

You know, most of your comments are really inmature. This is a fantastic play, maybe you should read it before judge it. The important thing is not nudity, it's all the psychology. Many important actors have played this role. And the fan girls are not making stupid comments, it's you, people, talking like that, the ones who are being stupid. I'm proud of Dan, he is choosing great, he did an independent film and he is going to do a brilliant play. That's the best way to become a great and serious actor, and not with those silly teen Hollywood movies. You all should be happy, because Dan will learn a lot doing this, so HBP will be exceptional. In the same way I'm sure he learned a lot filming December Boys, and he will be great in OotP (although he already was perfect in GoF).

According to a article in Rolling Stone (last year), Dan has a clause in his contract stating 'no frontal nudity'. Whether this is true or not remains to be seen but I can't see it happening. I have a hard time believing that Warner Bros., JK Rowling, his agents, and/or a few other invested HP interests would advise him to participate in Equus in this way. Can you imagine the hoards of people that would line up to see this play if Dan were to be do a few scenes without clothes?? I, personally, wouldn't but I can see it happeneing. I'm sure we will hear from Dan's agent or someone who will confirm/deny the information. Be patient.

Well, As a career choice, I think this is a good move. It shows that he can do theatre as well as film, and theatre is much more difficult because of the large amounts of memorization. The nudity however, I think adds to the play by truly defining the characterization. So I think it will be there, but done cleverly to avoid indecency (blocking, lighting, etc.).

I hate to break it to all the other fangirls out there but I will bet anything I own that he wolud not be nude. Sorry you guys. :) I really don't think Warner Brothers would allow one of their most profitable actors " schoolboy image" (though I hate that cause he is not that much younger than I am) to be ruined. I really think that I would like this play. According to my friends and family I have like the slightly disturbing stories though I just consider them as "interesting". I don't like reading where the character lives this perfectly normal life except they get in fight with their best friend or their crush doesn't notice them or some other similar petty problem. I like reading stories where their characters have slightly more real life problems and ones that show that there is a darker side to human nature.

It has been said before, but Daniel Radcliffe doesn't turn eighteen for another three years, and thanks to the poster two up from me remembering his Rolling Stone Article, but who knows? Besides, Harry Potter fans that we are should only be happy about his carrer choice, not his nudity which seems to be the buzzing topic. If he figures it would be faithful to the play, then I don't care, but if not, then I don't care either. I would actually like to see the stage play, not the film, and with such a famous icon of the 21st century, I would like to see him perform the show because it is a break from Harry Potter and makes him more serious. Well, this play is going to sell out with all the Dan fangirls rushing to see him in the nude. ;) It's good that Dan is taking on some different roles, rather than just staying in the HP stereotype. Equus is an intense, mature play, and I hope he gets some credit from it. And no, it won't clash with filming or school - he's taken a year off, so I hear, to concentrate on the acting, and it'll be between filming. So the fangirls have nothing to fear.

Just to warn all of you underage fans, Equus is a very dark, mature play. I sincerely hope none of your parents would allow you to see it if you're under 16 or 17. For those of you who are old enough, and live near enough to the West End, I'd encourage you to go and see this play. It's disturbing, but amazing and fascinating. However, the nudity is not playful, meant to titillate young fans, but is taken just as seriously as the rest of the play, so if you're only going to catch a glimpse of Dan's body, I would suggest that you stay home.
