Well, despite the nudity, I'm wondering. This will be his first big theater play, right? I wonder if he'll be as good on-stage as he is in the movies.

This is an AMAZING oppertunity for dan. If u ever get a chance to read the play, i suggest you do (tht is to say if u r highschool and older... it may be a bit hard to follow for anyone younger.) Honestly, there are parts that are a bit disturbing that dan will have to portray but as many of u (especially quidditchplayer 37 ) have mentioned, it should increase his acting ability. The play is not about the nudity or the, well, lets call it the characters "fasination" for horses, but the phsycology behind it all and the meetings with his phsycologist to discover what exactly is going on. It is a very deep play that gets u thinking on different levels. It is a big step forward for dans acting career seeing as it will challenge him in ways (though i love the harry potter movies but lets face it) harry potter would not be able to (or at least the way the movies portray harry... if they went by the teaching and importance of life and death and how it is not what u look like or what blood u r tht makes who u r but how u live out ur life and what u do with it, then maybe it would be more challenging.)

cnn had this story scrolling at the bottom of the screen sayin that harry potter star daniel radcliffe to ride a horse naked in his london stage debut; he plays a psychologically disturbed stable boy in equus. now i don't know if this means he is going to be naked but, by their wording it seems that he will. i doubt though.

I´m so going to London to see this. But he will most unlikely be in the nude. Honestly. (We can always hope, thought.. Heh.) I wonder if will have the ability to portray a troubled youth whom blind horses?

I think that this is an awesome opportunity for Dan, not only proving that he can act in both movies and theater, but proving that he has the ability to play a variety of roles. Although I doubt he'll be nude. Really...just think about it. Although I can hear the fangirls going crazy anyway...

There are many ways in theater to appear naked and not be naked at all, the point of this play is not nudity and the fascination he has with horses BUT the mental problems he has and how he faces them. This is a GREAT role for any young actor who wants his career to be taken serious, and also for the director to wait more than a year for Dan really shows that the director think that Dan can pull this character very well! He will play Ala until June after that he will be replace because of HP commitments, OotP premiers and promotions and also probably shooting of HBP

Wow, that sounds really interesting. I think a role like that would really help improve his overall acting skills which would mean he'd be even better in future HP films.

When I first read it, I immediately had the same reaction as Katiemay. But not I realized, ootp's coming out in summer, 2007. He could finish this play by the time they start filming for hbp! And honestly, there's really no way Dan's going to be nude on stage -- it's jsut too weird.

sounds exciting....but i hope, for dan's sake, that they opt to not do the nudity. with as much publicity as dan already gets, i can't see it being anything but a headache for him. can't wait to hear more

All nudity aside, Equus is really a brilliant play. Alan is a wonderful role that allows for a huge range with regards to acting. If he can do it justice - I believe he can - this will be an outstanding opportunity for him.

I think Dan should act in a comedy. He's be amazing doing a comedy, if you saw the clip of his as a policeman a while back, I thought that was funny at least... But enough w/ the dark, mature, and serious! Why doesn't he lighten it up w/ a comedy? I would go and see it! For sureeeeeeeee!

Well, I know nothing about the play, but by the sounds of it its very different from Harry Potter. Good on Danthough, I hope he does really well. I don't see that it matters whether he's nude or not, if thats whats in the play, then he's just doing his job and props to Dan for doing something so different. I just hope the fangirls can keep themselves calm, it would be a shame if it was ruined by hundreds or lusty teenage H.P fans!

It sounds like a great play. I wish I could go, but I am all the way out in the mid USA. I love watching plays. I wonder if dan will have a hard time performing in a play, because he is probably used to filming in movie where he can redo something if he messes up.

I highly agree with quidditchplayer. This play is very mature but he is 17 already and this won't be a permanant thing. It will only run for a little bit and then he'll be back to the interviews and premieres for OOTP and his exams and filming for HBP. I highly doubt this will affect his HP career in a bad way. Besides if they wouldn't let him be Harry in the 7th film (if there will be one) then I highly doubt anyone would see it.

Nope, no nudity, you have to be 18 over here to get your clothes off on stage, technically Dan is still a child. He's seventeen now and if rehersals start in January I doubt he'll have seven months of rehersal, just so he can be nude. Who knows it may be 21. I'll have to check

some of you people are immature.. this won't ruien his acting career.. so what if he's going to be nude, it's a very mature part and that's why he's doing it... to prove himself that he can do anypart.. just because he took the roll of apparently molestiing horses or whatever dosent mean he's a bad person.. he has guts for taking that roll, and that's what makes a good actor.

So what is wrong with being in that play? Theatre is a great stepping stone for acting. Theatre Actors are the best actors out there, concerning, remembering lines, singing on key, singing the whole song in one part, dancing, concentration, and coordination. I for one would LOVE to see Dan take on this challenge, as I know he will be able to work that roll perfectly. I highly doubt he would do it nude. Look at the celebrities out there today who are caught with their shoes off, look how much publicity arose from that! I dont think Alan Radcliffe would allow his 17 year old son, to do a play, infront of hundreds of people at a time, naked. I also dont think they would let him do this in the nude, because, well, he is only 17. There are creeps out there.
