In a red carpet interview at the Tribeca Film Festival, John Hurt, the actor who played Ollivander in Sorcerer's Stone said he will be back to reprise the role of the famous wandmaker in Deathly Hallows. "It was great doing it the first time, and it's quite like revisiting Quentin Crisp, except not quite 33 years in between!" "It's a very crucial part of the last [book], if you think about the implications of it." Thanks to Ashley and James for sending this in!

dats cool.....im happy dat they r keepin sum sort of continuity!!! 0=D

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-04-29 14:16:15

Usually they just throw continuity out the window, but not here. And he was amazing as Ollivander!

Can mugglenet please stop with all the ads? At least the ones that have noise? Im so tired of it. Ive been using this site for years but its starting to get a little ridiculous. I use an ad blocker so I dont have pop ups, but the ads that are on the site are just as intrusive. Anybody agree with me?

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-04-29 14:50:39

Yeah! I am so happy to hear about this!! With all we are hearing I think DH is going to rock!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-04-29 14:54:40

JLKLacross89: I completely agree with yiu. The ads are really annoying. I almost dont want to come here anymore.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-04-29 15:02:09

Yes! Theyre finally keeping fairly true to the books! JLKLacross89 if you dont have Firefox, get it, and get the add on Adblock Plus. I never see any ads on the site with that.

I am so happy he will be in this movie. And Im even happier that he knows Ollivander is pretty important in the last movie. And he seems to enjoy it so YAY!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-04-29 15:42:35

Awesome. Hes an amazing actor and he played the part well. And hooray for continuity.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-04-29 15:47:27

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-04-29 16:29:40

awww we havent seen him since film 1 i think? itll be nice to see him return.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-04-29 16:30:07

This is some really good news. Its great to know hell be playing Ollivander again. He has a somewhat short role, but definitely a crucial one story wise.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-04-29 16:47:52

YES!! WOOHOOO! I am so happy abou this! I cant wait to see him again, first time in like 10 years! WHOA! YES, the ads are always pushing my buttons! Today, I opened MuggleNet, and like 6 or 7 ads popped up! I dont pay any attention to the ones on the site, so they dont bother me, but they are intrusive! But, yeah, I love continuity, especially when its Harry Potter-related! lol. I am so glad! WOOHOO! Go WB! I havent even read the article yet, just the headline. lol. Here I go.... .........Cool! Seems like John Hurt actually reads the books! Its so cool because Ive memorized his name and associated it with Ollivander everytime I think of the character! And now, hes coming back for the last film! WAAH!! *tear* lol. jk. I know, Im weird. lol.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-04-29 16:57:21

Im so EXCITED that hes coming back!!! Hes so perfect as Ollivander and the part in DH when he tells the trio about the Elder Wand is such a crucial part...it just has to be in the movie! YAY!!!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-04-29 18:05:19

Oh yes!!! Thats great news he played the role birlliantly and he is just SUCH a brilliant actor !!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-04-29 19:10:01

This is WONDERFUL news! Im so glad he is coming back!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-04-29 19:30:08

Im in tears of happiness!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-04-29 23:04:06

This is good because we need Ollivander to tell us about the Deathly Hallows, I hope to see more about this very soon.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-04-29 23:06:28

@trueligth...Ollivander doesnt tell them about the Deathly Hallows. When they ask him about it, he doesnt know anything. He tells them about wands and how they transfer owner and what not. And I think he also mentions something important about the Elder Wand. Xenophillius Lovegood tells them about the Deathly Hallows.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-04-30 01:08:29

Thank goodness! I agree, his part is crucial, so its great hes back. MuggleNet needs the ads to pay for hosting, which is apparently a six figure sum. Im willing to close a few ads for my favourite Potter site to stay open. Or do we want the economic crisis to actually affect the site, a la April Fools?!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-04-30 10:59:06

Yes, yes, YES!!!!!! Perfect! And now all we need is John Williams back. Please?

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-04-30 11:08:56

GREAT!!!!!! His scene in the first movie is one my favorites throughout the entire series. "Nope. Nope. Definitely not."

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-04-30 11:50:08

Yey great news!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-04-30 18:08:56
