Over 48,000 bricks were used to create a lego mosaic of Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling at the Legoland Windsor theme park. Rowling won the honor after landing first place in a poll looking for the "ultimate hero" of the past ten years. Local children were an integral part of putting the mosaic together. "At Legoland, we actively encourage imagination and creativity and believe in making the children the heroes – just as Rowling does in her stories." Other notable Potter stars who made top 10 in the poll were Dan Radcliffe (Harry Potter) at No. 8 and David Tennant (Barty Crouch Jr.) at No. 9. Thanks to Snitch Seeker for the tip!

Wow! That looks really cool and really real! Must have been some hard work....awesome! And MuggleNet, how you have to log in every 3 hours to post comments is kind of annoying...can that be changed to like 6 hours or something, if possible? Thanks!

One of the more weird perks of being a best selling author. She mustve been like "erm, riiight..." when they told her they were going to do it.

THAT IS FREAKIN AWSOME!!! I was watching mythbusters and they had made a million brick ball roll down a hill and fail catastrophically. I LOVE LEGO. (I wish I had 48,000 bricks :-)

That is bizarre, and yet awesome. I would be flattered.

I wouldnt have done David Tennant, Luke, beacuse hes too self-engrossed! hes not a good Doctor who, and the new series is far too much aboutromance. a 900 year old and a 20 year old? but anyway, this is a harry potter site, so Ill just say...well done, Jo? quite a strange thing, Ill be sure to see it next time Im down south!
