JKR expects some 'bereavement' after Book 7
JKR expects some 'bereavement' after Book 7 At this morning's press conference in New York City, JK Rowling talked a little about deaths in the seventh Harry Potter book: "I guess some people will loathe it; some people will love it."

She also spoke about life after Harry: "On the one hand, I am going to feel sad. Harry's been an enormous part of my life and it's been a turbulent phase of my life and he was always the constant. So there will be a sense of bereavement. But there will also be a sense of liberation because there are pressures involved in writing something as popular. Wonderful though it's been, I think that there will also be a certain freedom in escaping that particular part of writing Harry Potter.

"I feel quite liberated, I can just resolve the story now. And it's fun in a way that it hasn't been before, because finally I'm doing my resolution."

Check out some pictures of Jo at the event here.

Oops, let me re-phrase that. I believe it will be either Snape or Draco that will be killed off in book seven because i believe it that those two you either hate or love bringing out the JKR statement that they will be either happy or sad about the killing off of a character. I totally agree that Ron, Harry, Hermione and others are hugely popular but I mean how many will be happy any of those good ones die, I know I wont and neither will any of you. But some of you who hate Draco and or hate Snape will be happy that they meet " thier sticky end". No offence meant.

WOW - the press conference quotes really make it sound like Harry is going to die. I was be SO sad if that's true! But isn't it funny that the other two authors made a plea to Jo to not to kill off Harry?!!? I think that's pretty funny that Stephen King loves Harry enough not to want him to go (and Stephen King is the king of horror stories!). BTW - I agree with all of you - how sad when the series end. And Jo did look fantastic.

"I guess some people will loathe it, some people will love it." Hmmm. That's a big spoiler right there everyone. Harry Potter's gonna die..........

This scares me like anything . . . Ron and Hermione, I love you, and will miss you like mad. And if Harry leaves me . . . us, I mean . . . I'll just . . . just . . . just . . . just. . . . :o(

this is my theory voldimort will kill harry with snape right next to him!!... but right after harry gets killed SNAPE will kill voldimort because if you think about it IF harry comes across SNAPE do you realy think that harry will wait to hear SNAPE'S explation of if he's bad or good... NO... he's not he's gonna kill him RIGHT AWAY!!!!!!!!!!! and there's no other way to have SNAPE tell HARRY that he's good or bad so if what i said above is true we can find out were SNAPE'S loyalties lie and the DARK LORD dies!!!!!!!!!!!... YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

wow... lol. Ok. So, JK. Rowling said the last word would be scar... hmm.. thats cool. I just hope that Harry doesnt die! He will only be 17! or 16!
