New details on Order of the Phoenix
RedFlu has sent us new, very detailed information on the current plan for the beginning of Order of the Phoenix. These could be considered spoilers by some, so we have a link below to take you to the description. At most, this is a rough plan for the arrangement of the beginning of the film and chances are it will adjusted. Nonetheless, an interesting read for anyone interesting in seeing the plan so far for the film!
"The film starts with Harry in the street, when he meets Dudley. This part is like
the book. The one difference is that the fight happens in the atrium of the
Dursley's house. After this fight, the Advanced Guard appears and takes Harry to the Sirius' house. When Harry enters, they tell him it all what in the book Sirius tells him by letter. Hermione and Ron tell him about the OotP and the others say him about the hearing in the Minister. The next scene shows Harry and Mr. Weasley in a big hall in the Minister. In that place it's the hearing and they introduce us to Umbridge. The part in wich we see Lucius talking with Fudge has been removed. Then, the dinner before the Hogwarts Express. Ron and Hermione receive their letter, with the annunce of prefects. Harry is jealous.

After this, Harry appears in the train. He talks a bit with Luna. Hermione and Ron aren't there. Ginny says that they're with the other prefect. For the first time we'll see how they mount the carriage, but it only will be to see the thestrals. Then, we will see the first dinner, when we can see to Dolores Umbridge as professor and also see that Hagrid is not in Hogwarts.

From here, my uncle just told me diferentes things, like there'll be classes with Snape and Dolores. We'll have Grawp, too. The quidditch will be mentioned, but we won't see it, because in the last game we watch the scene when Harry meets Grawp. There will be exams, and also there'll be Occlumency lessons. Snape tell Harry he will have Oclumency lessons at the end of one of potions lessons, and not in Grimmauld Place.

In the last battle, all the wizards will be there. The scene of the battle between
Harry and Voldemort has been written three times, because they don't know when
Dumbledore has to appear.

In September they'll shoot the last battle."

It's not bad, I don't like the fact that Harry fights the dementors in the atrium, should've been on the street, it's obviously more open.

Posted by nearly_headless_nick Aug 1st 2006

I think that when he says fight it means: fight with the dementors, I suppose. But don't go mad, we don't even know if all that it's true.

Posted by kimchee Aug 1st 2006

Wow this is so exciting, sounds pretty good. I was afraid that grimmauld place would be taken out- I hope they don't forget to emphasise how lonely harry is becuase that is involved in an important change that happens to Harry over the course of the book. Helps him grow up a bit when all is over with.

Posted by Mizz_Moony_Luver Aug 1st 2006

Errr.... I guess it's OKAY. (I'm still boycotting it though XP.) BUT, here comes the Canon Nazi, if there wont be a scene where Sirius explains his family back-story how will people who haven’t read the books catch on to the whole R.A.B-stole-the-locket-and-hid-it-in-Grimmauld-Place subplot if they don’t even know Sirius has a brother in the first place?! I just thought I would point that out. *is a Black family whore and Regulus Black fangirl*

Posted by quidditchplayer Aug 1st 2006

All of us have our favorites scenes, but we have to understand they can not include all the scenes of the book, so of course some people will miss some scenes and other will be happy. But the important thing is they include the most important scenes.

Posted by HalfBloodPrincesse Aug 1st 2006

So far it seems like they'r staying true to the book, minus a few *ahem* "minor" details. They removed that little fight between Snape & Sirius!! How could they?! =( I hope they include one of those detentions with Umbridge (although they were horrible)...and whatever happened to the DA?!!OMG! If they take out the DA.....!! *Kills the producers* auugh! It seems like too many stuff is missing. Honestly, this book is way too long to cram into a what will most likely be a 2 & half hour movie. I just hope there isn't too much truth to this article, because if there's no DA I'll be heartbroken...

Posted by LovinRitaSkeeter Aug 1st 2006

Sounds alright but no matter how hard the screen writers try they will never be able to get the film as good as the book. I was a little disapointed with the last film so we will have to see how they fair on this one.

Posted by quidditchplayer Aug 1st 2006

HalfBloodPrincesse, we know they have filmed DA scenes, the actors have already talked about them.------------Mizz_Moony_Luver, how do you know they haven’t filmed that scene?

Posted by charmed_heart25 Aug 1st 2006

I am soo guilty of reading this. But im soooooo EXCITED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just HAVE to see it! (well, I have to see all the movies) And now I have to read OOTP again to see what changes they made. AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!

Posted by kimchee Aug 1st 2006

I agree Halfbloodprincesse... But I think I read else where that the DA is still included. Im also worried that The TRIO won't be going back to grimmauld place durring christmas break and the entire relationship between Harry and sirius will be pretty much non existant until he gets killed.

Posted by Mizz_Moony_Luver Aug 1st 2006

quidditchplayer- Ya, I know they cant include all our favorite scenes but the Sirius' back story is integral to the plot. Unlike the DA meetings or a Sirius/Snape showdown. It's importent for the 6th and 7th book so people who havent read the books wont be like WTF?! Who's Regulus? It has nothing to do whatsoever with my obsession with Reg. *shifty eyes*

Posted by dobbyfreak Aug 1st 2006

left in a lot more than i thought they would! cant wait!!!!!!

Posted by EfaB Aug 1st 2006

WooHoo!!!! Sounds like they've left the best bits of da book in! OOTP is my favourite HP book an I was afraid they were gonna mess it up but it sounds great!

Posted by Mizz_Moony_Luver Aug 1st 2006

Mizz_Moony_Luver, how do you know they haven’t filmed that scene? Because they didnt mention it, they seemed to have lost it somewhere between the prefect scene and the train ride. Damn, I don't have the bookjs to refrence with me, but it's not mentioned, I think a quiet Sirius/Harry bonding moment would be worth mentioning don't you? Bleh. So many missing things!

Posted by nearly_headless_nick Aug 1st 2006

Wait, that report is wrong, WB has already casted Mrs. Figg, and she doesn't fit in the way that report explains things...

Posted by Brandi23 Aug 1st 2006

It looks just as good as the other movies. The others were not as detailed we can all agree to that so why should we complain about this one as well?? I would really enjoy it if we got a chance to see Nevilles parents at St. Mungo's and maybe even Gilderoy Lockhart! Now that would be interesting...

Posted by xoxDumbledorexox Aug 1st 2006

wait so the fight thing happens in the dursley's house? it just said "the fight"...which one? the one between harry and dudley or the one with harry and the dementors. how could they cut out the dementors? thats the whole reason why harry has to go to the hearing! i dunno i hope this one is better than the 3rd and 4th ones cuz no offense but they were not exactly masterpieces

Posted by ChocolateEyedWitch Aug 1st 2006

sweeeeeeeeeeet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by quidditchplayer Aug 1st 2006

Mizz_Moony_Luver, that's what I said, that the important thing is that they include the most important scenes. But just because that report doesn't mention it, it doesn't mean that it isn't included. He even says :"From here, my uncle just told me diferentes things", so he doesn't all the scenes. And nearly_headless_nick already found some holes in that report.

Posted by crookshanks16 Aug 1st 2006

Alright! I was kind of worried they were going to cut too much, but it sounds pretty good to me.

Posted by HalfBloodPrincesse Aug 1st 2006

Thank you quidditchplayer, i feel so much better now that i know there actually are DA scenes!:) I agree with Mizz_Moony_Luver, we do need the Black family story cuz people who haven't read the books are not going to know who Regulus is. Does anyone know if they're keeping the St.Mungo's scene?

Posted by Mizz_Moony_Luver Aug 1st 2006

And nearly_headless_nick already found some holes in that report. Ya, I'm hoping it's wrong. Mizz Moony needs her Black family fix to be happy. :D

Posted by mariangy Aug 1st 2006

It sounds very cool everything that it says that's going on on the movie, i just hope they don't cut too much of importants parts there. I don't regret reading it, its better to know that everything's okay and do not get disappointed when i see it next summer. I trust you ppl give us more updates about what's going on on the set of OotP, thank yal!!!!

Posted by Mizz_Moony_Luver Aug 1st 2006

HalfBloodPrincesse I'm hoping there keeping the St Mungos scene, so much valuable insight into Neville (I really love him) and they had a bit of a clue towards it in GoF with Barty and stuff, so heres hoping!

Posted by viki_hp_nerd Aug 1st 2006

everything's fine, i mean, i expect things to be cutted out...but quidditch??? what about "weasley is our king"??? that's a great fun thing to hear even if it is mean...and then, the cleaning must take place *ahem* horcuxes *ahem*.

Posted by Emu Aug 1st 2006

they go "inside the Minister"?! what, do they transform into amebas or something? xDD jk. this person is confused.

Posted by r4v3ncl4w Aug 1st 2006

Yeah, I like the St. Mungo's scene with Neville almost as much as I like the Mirror of Erised chapter in SS / PS.

Posted by Hannah_at_Hogwarts Aug 1st 2006

I don't know, reading that report left me feeling that the person who is reporting this did so quite hastily. Meaning, they didn't want to get caught reporting it. Grammatical errors (although we all understood them), incomplete sentences - it just left me feeling like it should have been inscripted on the side of a coin for us to figure out. (Exactly how DA got the message out of when to meet.) Hey, maybe I'm on to something there, no?

Posted by Eeyore Aug 1st 2006

It sounds like they are working around things in the book to make it work on screen, but where is the attack on Arthur Weasley? That's hugely important to establish Harry seeing things through the snake's eyes, and then the whole scene at the end when Harry learns about the prophecy. I really hope they spend time on that rather than on the action sequences as they have in the last two movies. As exciting as that can be, it doesn't do anything to further the psychological aspects of the books, especially Order of the Phoenix.

Posted by r4v3ncl4w Aug 1st 2006

viki_hp_nerd - I think the reporter means that just the one quidditch match, in particular, won't be filmed (it isn't necessary, and we don't even see most of it in the book). You can still hear the reversal of "Weasley Is Our King!" without seeing the match itself. I imagine we'll see at least one full match, though I wouldn't care if we didn't--watching them is almost as tedious as reading them. * * * * * Eeyore and others - This is not a complete plot listing. The beginning includes most of what happens, and the rest are just a few odd parts that this person knows are definitely being fimed. It is by no means exhaustive. * * * * * Why am I responding to so many specific people? Not like it's my duty. Or that people even want me too. Guess that's the mood I'm in ...

Posted by Matrinka Aug 1st 2006

I have to agree about the grammar and spelling; both were highly distracting.

Posted by quidditchplayer Aug 1st 2006

Other scene we know they will include (they have casted the actors, we think it's the scene they were filming in Oxford last week) and it's not included in that report is the Marauders scene. Don't worry, we know they are going to include it in the movie. And we know they will include the centaurs and the scene with Umbrige and them at the end, and the scene where Umbrige slaps Harry.

Posted by crazy_ned Aug 1st 2006

So how reliable is this source anyway? Someone whose uncle is involved with the film?

Posted by luvinmalfoyx3 Aug 1st 2006

to quidditchplayer: uh...without some stories being untruthful, there would be nobody to laugh at in the end. lol. and mugglenet can put whatever they want. i like how they put up whatever news they get that sounds like it could be true. w/e. i disagree with you

Posted by quidditchplayer Aug 1st 2006

luvinmalfoyx3, like I said, I was just giving my opinion. I think that this only confuses some people and make angry some of them. And if Mugglenet posted whatever which is not confirmed, then it wouldn't be a reliable source. And I think Mugglenet is a reliable source. Maybe it's just WB throwing stuff to see what the fans say :D But I agree that it's fun to talk about what they should include etc

Posted by chickenwiretire Aug 1st 2006

Yikes the grammer in this evaluation is horrible. I found it difficult to read. I highly doubt the autheticity of this report.

Posted by SiriusGirl Aug 1st 2006

It sounds- ok. I mean, not perfectly true to the book, but still pretty good. How could they POSSIBLY not know when Dumbledore arrives??! They would if they read the book, which sometimes I think they DON'T do, as the movies seem to be getting worse. E.g. the first two were awesome, I was a bit disappointed with the third, etc.

Posted by pot_head Aug 1st 2006

WHERE IS FIG AND MUNDUNGUS AND HALF THE OTHER CHARACTERS!!!!!

Posted by gingertrentontenn Aug 1st 2006

I think (if the report is true) that the beginning seems to go pretty fast to me. You can write all the stories you want, but until the movie comes out no one will know. I just hope they do the book justice. It is hard to take anything out because every little detail is important in some way.

Posted by Mrs_Finnegan Aug 1st 2006

OMG that is so cool!!!!!! I'm so excited!!

Posted by quidditchplayer Aug 1st 2006

pot_head, they casted Mrs. Figg, so she is included. :)

Posted by LizDig5972 Aug 1st 2006

Sounds pretty true to the book, atleast, true enough. I'm actually this is quite exciting news.

Posted by weatherby551 Aug 1st 2006

I'm so excited for the movie! I wish it could come sooner, but I know if they get all the good stuff in it'll take a while. I'm gonna miss quidditch though. Hopefully there will be some in the sixth movie.

Posted by Sally Aug 1st 2006

WOO Im really liking this!!!! And for the people who are saying they wont be dementors, it says that Harry is going to a --hearing in the Minister-- DUH

Posted by Hannah_at_Hogwarts Aug 1st 2006

pot_head, I seem to remember that the Mundungus character was not included in this movie. Not 100% sure on that though.

Posted by frenchbread Aug 1st 2006

The _hearing_ is IN the MINISTER???......XD

Posted by jens Aug 1st 2006

i would love to agree with the people saying that they know certain scenes are going to be in the movie because they have cast people for the roles-- but i cant entirely agree because for the first movie they cast rick mayall as peeves-- and as we all know peeves got cut!!!!

Posted by silverlala Aug 1st 2006

Holy heck, batman! That's some good detailin'! hee hee good job but sad to say we won't see much of Grimald Place, dangit!

Posted by curieux Aug 1st 2006

Hey, I think we need to see some of Captain Capslock Harry in Grimauld Place in the beginning... For him to not be so upset in the BEGINNIG of the movie as he is in the book is already to far a deviation from the 5th book, IMO. This is a Angst!Harry book, I think - so we should have all those "lovely" scenes. ;) Also, hopefully Sirius will be in this film a lot more than the last two - I mean the beginning at Grimauld Place, and Christmas (where he's cheery), and the talk in the fireplace, and of course the end battle. :)
