New details on Order of the Phoenix
RedFlu has sent us new, very detailed information on the current plan for the beginning of Order of the Phoenix. These could be considered spoilers by some, so we have a link below to take you to the description. At most, this is a rough plan for the arrangement of the beginning of the film and chances are it will adjusted. Nonetheless, an interesting read for anyone interesting in seeing the plan so far for the film!
"The film starts with Harry in the street, when he meets Dudley. This part is like
the book. The one difference is that the fight happens in the atrium of the
Dursley's house. After this fight, the Advanced Guard appears and takes Harry to the Sirius' house. When Harry enters, they tell him it all what in the book Sirius tells him by letter. Hermione and Ron tell him about the OotP and the others say him about the hearing in the Minister. The next scene shows Harry and Mr. Weasley in a big hall in the Minister. In that place it's the hearing and they introduce us to Umbridge. The part in wich we see Lucius talking with Fudge has been removed. Then, the dinner before the Hogwarts Express. Ron and Hermione receive their letter, with the annunce of prefects. Harry is jealous.

After this, Harry appears in the train. He talks a bit with Luna. Hermione and Ron aren't there. Ginny says that they're with the other prefect. For the first time we'll see how they mount the carriage, but it only will be to see the thestrals. Then, we will see the first dinner, when we can see to Dolores Umbridge as professor and also see that Hagrid is not in Hogwarts.

From here, my uncle just told me diferentes things, like there'll be classes with Snape and Dolores. We'll have Grawp, too. The quidditch will be mentioned, but we won't see it, because in the last game we watch the scene when Harry meets Grawp. There will be exams, and also there'll be Occlumency lessons. Snape tell Harry he will have Oclumency lessons at the end of one of potions lessons, and not in Grimmauld Place.

In the last battle, all the wizards will be there. The scene of the battle between
Harry and Voldemort has been written three times, because they don't know when
Dumbledore has to appear.

In September they'll shoot the last battle."

Hey, I think we need to see some of Captain Capslock Harry in Grimauld Place in the beginning... For him to not be so upset in the BEGINNIG of the movie as he is in the book is already to far a deviation from the 5th book, IMO. This is a Angst!Harry book, I think - so we should have all those "lovely" scenes. ;) Also, hopefully Sirius will be in this film a lot more than the last two - I mean the beginning at Grimauld Place, and Christmas (where he's cheery), and the talk in the fireplace, and of course the end battle. :)

so the dementors will be in the durselys house

Posted by lunaluvgood14322 Aug 1st 2006

WOW!!!!! HOW EXITING, it sounds like the OoTP will be short tho

Posted by olives548 Aug 1st 2006

ahhh im excited!!! cant waitt..i promised myself i wasnt gonna read it cause i wanted everything to be a 'surprise' but i read it anyways =)

Posted by morcar Aug 1st 2006

This is considered authentic? Forgive me if this is the first time I've heard of him, but who's this Patricio guy and how's his uncle (?) connected to OotP?

Posted by Rinnalaiss Aug 1st 2006

That's really cool! Do we know if they're including the "Give her Hell from us, Peeves!" scene. I personally believe that if that scene isn't present, the HP fans in my town will riot.

Posted by derick_potter Aug 1st 2006

Ok, I'm starting to be concerned about the scrypt, cause there's too many informations in the book that have to be well explained and so far as we can see the beginning of the movie is too fast and it may be difficult for the public to get all these informations. I know they can do a great job or at least satisfactory with the movie but I hope they'll be abble to deliver a scrypt more detailed and functional than the third film wich also had a lot of informations...

Posted by quidditchplayer Aug 1st 2006

I didn't know that jens, thanks. But we know about some scenes they have filmed too, it's not only because they have casted the actors. :)

Posted by thehillsx48 Aug 1st 2006

cool. but if they're going to shoot the last scene in september, then why do we have to wait till JULY? cant wait. i hate the beginning..there wont be Arabella Figgs?

Posted by mwbashful18 Aug 1st 2006

Well, I'll read stuff like this because I want details on the new movie. I am most worried about this film as there is a new screenwriter and director, and the director is a veteran TV director, yet he has the weight of the HP franchise on his shoulders - I'm more nervous than he probably is! However, I have faith in the actors in keeping the film as close to the books as we have many in the cast who would not let the film get out of hand. And Rowling still has script approval too. So if the DA is cut, I think she'd throw a fit. And I'm sure for the sake of the future would want Sirius to talk about his family during that dinner at 12 GP. I am iffy about the Dementor attack because Mrs. Figg is in there somewhere as they cast her, but this sounds like they changed it. Of course, this is from a girl who was told all this by an uncle who seems to be a part of the crew or something. So it could be a bit scrambled. I'm glad to hear of Snape/Umbridge classes being shown because Rickman will finally get his due time in now that people know what a huge character Snape is. Am a little annoyed about them cutting the Sirius/Snape fight, but that may change. The "Snape's Worst Memory" was filmed already two weeks ago and Rickman Radcliffe have covered the Occlumency lessons already as Rickman was one of the few adults who started early (thank God HBP made him a big character because now we'll see more).

Posted by jens Aug 1st 2006

true quidditchplayer but they also shot some scenes with sir cadogan in them for poa and guess what "they got cut" all im sayin is that you never know what will be in the movie until it is completely finished. when it comes time for editing, alot of things could get cut or hardly anything at all

What about the chocolate in the library??? And the 'Lucky You' scene where Harry's thinks he's possesed and Ginny talks to him about it? And what about the R/Hr kiss on the cheek? And There was that 'Furtive look' in the end where Ron goes, 'Just choose someone...Better, next time.' Looks at Harry. Haha. I like that name that curieux used. Captain Capslock. Haha. If you ask me, they don't have nearly enough of Sirius and Dumbledore. Their *SPOILER! LOOK AWAY!* deaths won't have that much of an impact if it seems Harry doesn't even know them that well. I pretty much agree with everything curieux said. Those little ourbursts are a part of Harry's personality. I REALLY HOPE THEY HAVE THE CHOCOLATE IN THE LIBRARY SCENE! I forgot about Mundungus! He was FUNNY in this book! I hope he's in ther too. Are they going to have Mrs. Figg's little 'secret-identity' or whetever you want to call it. Someone brought up a good point. What about Quidditch?? Is that there? It's a crutial thing to me to have in there. It led to Ron and Hermione's kiss. (On the cheek.) To quidditchplayer, Umbridge SLAPPED Harry?!?!? I don't remember that! I have to read the 5th book again. And the St.Mungo's visit where they see Neville. They had a perfect setting in the 4th movie to show Neville's parents in the 5th. I think this summary is really packing the more or less crucial things in there. THere are too many important things missing to be the actual play-by-play. Any-who, chores are calling my name. (Actually thats my mom but w/e.) So...Toodles! And Happy Birthday Harry!!

Posted by quidditchplayer Aug 1st 2006

Of course jens, you are right, we have to wait to see the movie, that's one of the reasons I don't trust these reports. But for example I'm sure they will include the DA, the Marauders scene, Umbrige with the centaurs, Umbrige vs Harry scene in her office... because the producer and actors have talked about them, so they have to think it's important.------- And this boy, it looks like English is not his first language, so maybe he didn't mean that the demmentors would be in the house...

Posted by ron_weasley_is_my_hero Aug 1st 2006

I wonder if they'll show when the weasley twins leave the school cause that part is awesome

Posted by frenchfries Aug 1st 2006

All I could do was SCREAM AT THE TOP OF MY LUNGS. but hopefully there's a little extra scenes cuz the fourth movie was good but I don't want the beginning part to go by so fast and a lot scenes skipped. Like when we learn that Harry thinks of Sirius as a bro and stuff. And the two way mirror. Yea I want this movie to be for real three hours long. I'M SO EXCITED.

Posted by diasphora Aug 1st 2006

Sounds like they're doing a good job. Can't wait! We can't expect them to seriously make a movie with every little scene in it., though Screenplays generally run a minute per page. One hundred and twenty pages is generally the average length studios want their screenplays to be (thus, 120 minutes.) Anything more is an admittedly long film. Long films can be okay, but OoTp is about 870 pages, which would be a 15 hour movie (let's say twelve, to cut out some exposition) and no studio would ever buy that, not even for Harry Potter. :-)

Posted by Sariza Aug 1st 2006

OMGosh! That is so awesome! I simply cannot wait for this movie and when I read this I screamed into the nearest pillow and sang, "It's my birthday!" outloud several times. Whoo, isn't this exciting?!?

Posted by ah14ofia Aug 1st 2006

well... i think they'll hopefully do a good job with this... what is the chocolate in the library scene? it's been so long since i read the book... got to do that again. quoting antman: "woW that was condensed...I wish they would make these movies longer, maybe they will with the last one as a sorry-for-butchering-all-of-the-other-films kind of gesture. " i fully agree. they did royally mess up the last two films... well, not royally, but the third was just despicable! but hey, you know what they say: Never judge a book by its movie.

Posted by LJB85 Aug 1st 2006

I'm mostly reserving judgment as it sounds like they are doing a good job...but I do not think we can take this 100% accurate. Ever heard of the game "telephone"??? She may have unintentional reported a little wrong and it's still not final. I hope they start the dementors as the first shot of the film. The first few shots are crucial to the feel of the film. I am disappointed there deleting an Lucius dialogue...maybe it will be on DVD deleted scenes? Also: I wonder if Mrs. Figg shows up for the dementor attack...she should or why would she have been cast?

Posted by amy4dan1327 Aug 1st 2006

well it sounds really good so far!!! i mean of course there will be things to clean up but, it sounds pretty much put together!!! i hope that the scenes are good especially the part with the department of mysteries cuz that is a really big scene!!! but yeah sounds cool... i guess!!!!

Posted by ConCon Aug 1st 2006

I hate it when they dont stay true to the books, and this sounds ok, but i dont agree with putting the dementor scene in the house.

Posted by ProfessorDumbledore Aug 1st 2006

Looks interesting, but I wonder if the fifth movie will be as good as the fourth, there is way more actions in book four. Oh well.

Posted by RAB62442 Aug 1st 2006

Are the dementors IN the dursley's house?....and what are they gonna do about the Weasley Twins, and Weasley's Wizarding Wheezes ?? and will Harry give them his Triwizard Money?? What about the 2 way mirror, and all the extra stuff that may not seem very important but is in the 6th book. I heard they were going to cut Bill Weasley out of the script! I hope not, because that means that Fenrir Greyback wont be able to attack him in the 6th movie. Anyway, I'm hoping it'll turn out good.

Posted by tenner91 Aug 1st 2006

wait so no 'weasley is our king' or caps lock harry? nooooooo! its not order of the pheonix w/o harry yelling his head off! i was looking forward to ron's quidditch! *tear*

Posted by r4v3ncl4w Aug 1st 2006

People: "Staying true to the book" does *not* mean including everything written--that's like obeying the letter of the law instead of the spirit. To stay truer to the book, the feel of the Potterverse should be real and living instead of the museum look of the first two movies, which were hopelessly stale (in general). The PoA movie streamlined the plot--so what? It felt right. It captured the feelings of the characters and the mood of the events so perfectly, it felt more like what the book was trying to accomplish than any other so far. No other has such power to move me (and, believe it or not, I'm not the only one who feels that way). I'm not concerned by these revisions (save the possibility of the fight being *inside* the Dursley house). They'll improve the onscreen pacing, which will aid the movie--a likelier organic whole than the kitchen sink approach of Chris Columbus or the bleeding chunks of GoF. * * * * * Also, I'm amused by the various gender assumptions of the commenters. "Patricio" sounds quite like a guy's name to me.

Posted by angellily9110 Aug 1st 2006

SO AWESOME!!!! CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by fingustis Aug 1st 2006

bro this movie iz gna be pretty phat

Posted by Leoseeker09 Aug 1st 2006

WTF!!??This movie sounds like crap.I'm sure it'll be better then what it sounds like but they have to put Quidditch. It is part of what makes Harry Potter so popular.I was really looking forward to "Weasly is Our King" and when Harry got pissed with Draco.Im not too pissed with Dudley and Harry fighting inside. It doesnt really make a differance.Im just already pissed off with it but this is just some girl who got some info from her uncle, but if it is like this...well Harry Potter can olny go downhill from here.

Posted by marsisbrighttonight Aug 1st 2006

well,i guess it sounds ok...but i had higher expections...i thought that PoA and GoF didnt have that magic that the first 2 had and i was really looking forward to this one, but i suppose it will be better than GoF

Posted by sirusstar Aug 1st 2006

I can't resist!! I won't remember it a year from now anyway!!!

Posted by hermy91 Aug 1st 2006

OMG! i totally agree with u *ronandhermioneshipper* i really want them to include the part where hermione kisses ron on the cheak!!!!!!!! i have a feeling im going to cry a lot! i cried a lot while i was reading the book. :)

Posted by polish Aug 1st 2006

yes yes yes , i agree with everyone who said they want to see the kiss on the cheak of hermione to ron, i hope they dont take that out of the movie. anyway, i believe they are truth to the book, in a way but i understand they cant put everything so its ok, i know i will love the movie anyway. sounds pretty exciting.

Posted by quidditchplayer Aug 1st 2006

Maybe that fight he is mentioning that takes place in the house is the Harry vs the Dursleys fight that take place in the kitchen. and when he says that the scene with Harry and Dudley is like it is in the book, he is talking about the Dementors too.

Posted by r4v3ncl4w Aug 1st 2006

Quidditch is quite possibly my least favorite element of the Potterverse, and they're among Jo Rowling's least favorite parts to write. It's just a sport. Fine, if you like sports, but its uniqueness is only skin-deep, as opposed to ... everything else in the book. The real characters, lol-inducing humor, and brilliant plotting are each many times more responsible for the popularity of HP than quidditch. The references to the game are more of an indicator of popularity than the cause, as it seems to be easy to remember and reference in everyday life. * * * * * (Pff ... PoA had more magic than the other three combined. The first two were so lame in an attempt to be charming and all cookie-cutter family film. Sorry for my shameless supporting of the PoA movie, but too many people dismiss it for the changes from the book which actually better serve the series than including paragraphs *verbatim* from the book. If people weren't so anal-retentive about [not] changing the details from the book, the movies would be freer to soar, a la LotR. Oh, and I'm actually not sorry. XD)

Posted by dracodragon Aug 1st 2006

sounds cool... but i don't know how reliable the source is. and how exactly does this person know what's going on????

Posted by focusf1 Aug 1st 2006

I dont care about if they dont stick to the book throughout the movie because - well- up until now its not like they have. BUUUUUUUUUUUTTTTTTTTTTT they need to get the Haryy/Dumbledore/Voldy scene at the end perfect because if they dont the whole film will be affected by it. So I hope they rewrite and rewrite it again until it is book perfect. I am available for directing......

Posted by the_potato Aug 1st 2006

if this is true then im a bit sad at what they cut out and changed (i was looking forward to the snape sirius fight :'( but i guess u cant have it all) im hopin that they dont blast through the first 5 chapters in 10 min like gof. i hope they didnt take out hole part about rons dad and the snake. or ne other important stuff. o and can i just say wtf is up with the hole " harry has a cush on luna" i mean im sorry but i didnt pick that up neware in the book im pretty sure that in five at lest that there barly even friends! ok not this hey lunas mad hot i secretly love her but im going 2 deny my feelings and have a inner battle full of angst crap!!.... ok im done with my rant movie sounds ok i just hope 4 the love of god they change the death eater outfits and give them back there dignity.

Posted by r4v3ncl4w Aug 1st 2006

the_potato - Oh wow, I agree about the Death Eater outfits! They looked like KKK rejects. I know that's what the allusion was supposed to be, but it just didn't work. Hoods / haunch coats are *so* much scarier.

Posted by dalhia15 Aug 1st 2006

OMG, if they arent addin in the quidditch then we cant see the part wehn fred, george, and harry punch malfoy, that was gonna be the best part in the movie!!!!!!!!!!!(screams)ahhhh. another thing, they better show the part when harry "attacks" mr weasley, that part was the best in the book. Also they better show the parts when harry talks to sirius in the fire and the hand comes out, aparently umbridges, if they dont add at least one of those parts, im gonna sue WB, but other wise i have no comments.

Posted by joelephant Aug 1st 2006

I can't wait until the movie, (like so many other people) but right now, I'm kinda sad that I read this, cause I know what happens in the movie... Well bviously I know what happens, but how and where it happens.

Posted by Harriet_Lily_Snape Aug 1st 2006

Wow! That is so great! It also looks like there're giving Snape more parts than the last movie! I can't wait!

Posted by Lyn Aug 1st 2006

I think it's horrible! They're going to cut everything. Every detail. What about Dumbledore's Howler? What about Dudley's worst fear? What about Ron playing quidditch? (Rupert said he would love playing quidditch). And what the hell are the dementors doing at Dursleys' house? I bet it's gonna take beteween 3 and 5 minutes these starting scenes. Horrible! OMG! They can't mess up with the plot. And sorry for my terrible English. I'm Brazilian. Bye!

Posted by Laewin Aug 1st 2006

I'm REALLY happy that they're sticking (mostly) to the book!!!!

Posted by quidditchplayer Aug 1st 2006

Lyn, wait to see the movie or have official info before freaking out. :) And they can not include scenes only because of what the actors would like to play. And Rupert said that because someone has said him that Ron plays quidditch in book 5, because he hadn't even read it, so he only knew about those scenes. And like Dan said, Quidditch is not fun to film, all that time with the broom...hurts. And it's expensive too, so I suppose they want to spend that money in special effects for giants, centaurs, thestrals and other new stuff... Quidditch is important for Harry and Ginny too, but maybe they will include those things in other scenes, or in other way. In the book we only see a match anyway. And he doesn't say the dementors are in the house, he says a fight is in the house, it can be the fight of Harry with the Dursleys.

Posted by polkadots56 Aug 1st 2006

wow i am so excited, but i really know i have learned way to much in english class this year cause i noticed all the grammar errors. lol i am such a GEEK. but anyway, Patricio thank you so much for all the great info on the movie we all on MuggleNet can't wait to see! hmmm, i really wish that they'd more for grimmauld place! doxys?boggart?extendable ears? the movie will still be awesome, but, like every other one-will be lacking in content. o well- as long as they have the DA, right?!?!

Posted by Chrisell Aug 1st 2006

It sounds good so far. Really disappointed to hear about Quidditch because that was one of the best parts of OOTP.

Posted by spellotapedheart Aug 1st 2006
